A friend brought dinner over last night and we watched the Republican convention.... afterwards, I don't really care to hear the Conservatives talk about the speeches because we pretty much know that, like Brit Hume said "Unless he falls into the orchestra pit, which wouldn't be a good thing," conservatives are generally going to like it, or at least most of it......and that most FOX contributors would approve of it, right? I think a better test is to switch to the opposing political side of news...
So, I switched immediately to CNN. Then, some time later, I told my friend "I'm switching to MSNBC, wait till you see how they'll slam the whole night." And, sure enough, there were Matthews and Robinson and Fineman all so witheringly dismissive of everything Republican.
Suddenly, Matthews spits out "and, of course, I could say I'm surprised at the lack of response in the audience on this subject, but......you'll see what I mean...." And he plays Romney talking about giving to charity, helping the needy,...etc and then Romney's mouth's moving but THERE IS NO SOUND so you could DEFINITELY not hear the audience's reaction, or the NONreaction Matthews ragged about! No cheering about helping the poor...no, just as Matthews surmised. BUT....my friend, who doesn't watch politics like I do, said exactly what I thought the minute we both saw it happen: "Wait! Romney was talking and then he wasn't...they cut the sound off, but that guy (Matthews) accused the Republican audience of not cheering for charity or helping the needy! How can you hear ANY reaction if he cut the sound off!?
I SWEAR THIS HAPPENED and I had to blog it. Man, WHAT another AMAZING example of stinkin' media bias and lies.
That was low even for Matthews and MSNBC.

PAUL RYAN
PAULRYANPAULRYANPAULRYAN
..............etc. etc etc. OUT OF THE BALLPARK. Not much else to say.................have you got anything?
Oh. I have one more thing; GOV SUSANA MARTINEZ....she made me cry. America needs more Latinas who change from Democrat to Republican and LOVE THIS COUNTRY for all they can do here, not what it can do for them. God bless her. She's a rock star....as smart as they get, beautifully confident and a patriot.
(as a kind of creepy aside, I just Googled PAUL RYAN IMAGES and they don't have one of him giving his speech, almost 3 hours after he ended it. They managed to include a picture of Mrs Ryan holding a kid while he spoke, but I guess Google just can't manage to find one picture of Paul Ryan up there talking...... really creepy.)

Abortion...."Barring it"...really?
Wording from the GOP Platform :
ABORTION:
The party states that "the unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed." It opposes using public revenues to promote or perform abortion or to fund organizations that perform or advocate abortions. It says the party will not fund or subsidize health care that includes abortion coverage.
Headline on liberal web venues:
GOP OKs platform barring abortions
Does it say it's BARRING ABORTIONS? Yet, my cousin received this email this morning.....(direct quote)
I'll be damned if I'm voting for mitt and his sidekick! I will always support a woman's right to chose and the things that have been said by their party regarding that are incredibly scary!!
"incredibly scary!!" ?
What do you think?

Does it matter?
Television announcers are always talking about “red states” and “blue states.” We all seem to identify the color red with the GOP, and blue with the DNC. But this is a new phenomenon. Traditionally, those colors were reversed to coincide with the European association of red with Marxist, leftist, fascist parties and organizations, and blue with conservative, right-wing parties and organizations.
This changed in the year 2000 … when for some unexplained reason, the “media” decided that red would look better on Republicans, and blue would look better on Democrats. We can’t imagine how they came up with that idea, unless there is some hidden agenda somewhere. But no, that would be impossible with our impartial media, wouldn’t it?
Political parties have never indicated a preference, and the year 2000 wasn’t the first time colors were used to denote political parties. Televised media never considered white because it doesn’t show up as well on color television sets. As for the term red vs. blue states, Tim Russert first used this term in the 2000 general elections.
Does any of this matter to Geeez readers? Imagine? Liberals=Progressives=Socialist agenda=RED? :-) Ain't our media just DANDY? : -)

Keep your eye on O-hi-o
No candidate for the American presidency has ever won that election who lost Ohio. Moreover, only two candidates for president won Ohio, and lost the election: Dewey in 1948, and Nixon in 1960. This tells us that if Romney doesn’t win Ohio, he cannot win the presidency.
They are significantly Catholic, and predominantly socially conservative. They overwhelmingly repudiated John Kerry in 2004. On the other hand, they are union workers susceptible to the tawdry campaign ads generated by the Obama campaign accusing Romney of destroying GST Steel and contributing to the death of Joe Soptic’s wife in 2006, and ignoring completely the fact that Romney left Bain Capital in 1999.
How will Ohioans respond to the fact that Barack Obama destroyed domestic coal industry, as he promised to do in 2008, contributing to the unemployment of tens of thousands of Americans? Presently, Appalachian Coal unions are lining up behind Romney.
Recent polls indicate that likely voters continue to support Barack Obama 49% to Romney 46%, but the three-point differential is within the margin of error. Essentially, it is a dead-heat race for Ohio’s 18 electoral votes. Moreover, Obama leads in the race for Ohio women, but trails Romney among Ohio men. Independent voters favor Romney 51% to Obama’s 39%. When asked about the best candidate for controlling government spending, Romney wins among likely voters; most Ohioans think Obama has the edge on Medicare and foreign policy —which is puzzling.
• He must be an adaptive leader: one with the ability to avoid taking a hard stance on issues, who can cater to what voters most want to hear, and concurrently conceal or explain away any changes in policy.
• He must demonstrate compassion: the ability to empathize with the common man, regardless of socio-economic group, race, or gender.
• He must be an excellent communicator: an aptitude that allows a candidate to display his strengths in the two other areas.
Are these things attributes, or character flaws? This is the dilemma of politics. We want our candidate to win the election, but in order to achieve that win, he must become as unprincipled as his opponent.
Who are these Ohioans?

The race for Ohio is far from over. The successful candidate in Ohio must excel in three areas:
• He must be an adaptive leader: one with the ability to avoid taking a hard stance on issues, who can cater to what voters most want to hear, and concurrently conceal or explain away any changes in policy.

Are you an Ohioan with some insight you can share with us here? Will Mitt Romney win Ohio? Will Mitt Romney win the election in November?

Harry Reid is a Jerk and a Pea Brain
Looking out over the vast desert with a piece of straw hanging out of his mouth, a straw that he picked up at the local Cracker Barrel Restaurant, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid turned toward the journalist and said, “What we have here is a failure to communicate. When we democrats say that it’s time for transparency in government, we don’t mean Democrats —we mean Republicans.”
The young reporter asked, “So you think Romney needs to release his tax records and come clean about offshore bank accounts, but that same standard does not apply to Democrats?”
“Exactly,” Reid replied.
Well, this does make sense when you stop to think about it. And it does provide consistency within the progressive party framework. Well, almost. Clinton had to release all his records, Bush had to release all his … and Democrats are making the same demand of Gov. Romney, but Barack Obama hasn’t released his records —and won’t release them. And doesn’t care whether we like it or not.
As for offshore bank accounts, Reid is upset because preposterously wealthy Mitt Romney is getting away with … Oh, I don’t know … legal stuff? But here’s an interesting revelation: key senatorial democrats also have offshore bank accounts. Their names are Diane Feinstein (CA), Richard Blumenthal (CT), Frank Lautenberg (NJ), and John Kerry (MA). [Source] Why isn’t Harry Reid worried about those lawbreak … um, people?
And since we’re talking about preposterous wealth, because Harry Reid brought it up, here’s another interesting revelation: seven of the ten richest members of the United States Congress are Democrats.
But wait, what happened to the Wicked Witch of the West? Cheer up; Nancy Pelosi remains one of the richest members of the House, which partly explains why she needed a luxury jet aircraft assigned to her during her tenure as Speaker of the House. Her net worth is $26.4 million. Part of that comes from the tax loopholes she created for her husband’s company, which also takes advantage of foreign labor and exceptions to the minimum wage law to avoid having to pay American workers what they’re worth.

2016....and Answered Prayer
Coming on the heels of my Sunday Faith blog below, I'm glad to announce there has been some answered prayer this weekend: 2016, the film, did VERY well this weekend at the box office, topping 3 new mainstream, high budget films. I've been told this film's honesty and 'facts only' approach will open a lot of liberals' eyes to who Obama really is.
I'm hoping something like this quote Imp just sent me might be part of that film:
"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America 's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that, "the buck stops here.' Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better." ~ Senator Barack H. Obama, March 2006
Anybody seen it yet and ready to give a critique? Please do.
"Thanks, God...please get more and more Americans to see this film. Help them to WAKE UP.
Amen."

If only we had a man of integrity in the White House, one who believed what he said instead of saying what he thinks voters want to hear. I believe Dinesh D'Souza's and John Sullivan's documentary exposes a lot of this.

I love the humor in the picture above and it got me thinking..........How much has PRAYER helped you? Do you remember a particular time you got an answer fast? We don't have to know what it was, but if you could tell us if you feel you've been answered, we'd love to know that. If you want to tell how, we'd be grateful.
"Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and He will say: Here am I..." Isaiah 58:9
There are a lot of verses about prayer that say, basically, "ask me for anything and you will have it." That's a tough one for everyone to understand so I didn't pick those to post here. What we have to remember, I think, is that answers come in many ways.....we might not notice some, we might not like some, we may feel totally unheard. But "here am I.." will always be true. To answer as you hoped or not; but He will always to be there by our side.
Pray today.......it's like chicken soup "it cain't hoyt!" :-)
Have a glorious, prayerful Sunday.

Obama is such a.........&@#(*$&&$(#*@
PLEASE read THIS ARTICLE...it's a little too long to post it here in its entirety but just glossing over it will give you the perfect window into the panic and utter disingenuousness that is is Barack Hussein Obama. DAMN.
He says Romney's view are "EXTREME" Hear how effective that is? Axelrod is using the term "WEIRD" for Romney. Extreme, Weird...get it? Most Americans will never ask "What do you mean?" But the lefties know they've tucked "weird" and "extreme" into their uneducated, uncurious liberal minds.
Here's my biggest problem with the article I linked...get a load of THIS:
"WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama said Mitt Romney has locked himself into "extreme positions" on economic and social issues and would surely impose them if elected, trying to discredit his Republican rival at the biggest political moment of his life.
In an interview with The Associated Press, Obama said Romney lacks serious ideas, refuses to "own up" to the responsibilities of what it takes to be president, and deals in factually dishonest arguments that could soon haunt him in face-to-face debates."
That's my biggest bitch with the ridiculous interview by Obama... What exactly does that mean? Romney has much more experience at EVERYTHING than Obama ever had upon coming into the presidency and he has the nerve to say this? Frankly, I'm not even sure what it means ... "own up" ?? Isn't "own up" usually after having done something one should repent for? How's about Obama "owning up" to the fact that he has SCREWED UP these last four years!? And then there's that little threat about the debates, so there's an intimidation factor going on with Obama's words, too. I doubt Romney has quite the fears of debating Obama that Obama has in debating Romney.
"Lacks serious ideas?" "refuses to 'own up' to responsibilities of what it takes to be president?"
WHAT? Can you help me out here? It's so CLEARLY just intimidation because it's so full of BS.................

Obama's Failed Afghan Policy
Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta recently expressed concern about the increase in green-on-blue attacks; that is, the murder or attempted murder of US/Coalition forces by Afghan counterparts. This year alone, Afghan insurgents have gunned down 39 International Security Assistance Forces (ISAF) personnel —about 13% of ISAF deaths this year, and more than 100 such incidents occurred since 2007.
Nothing, if not a genius, Panetta indicated to CNN that he worries continued attacks could damage coalition and Afghan partnerships —but he will nevertheless continue to force American military personnel to work side-by-side with Afghans who have never in the entire history of their culture been regarded as trustworthy.
Here’s a clue: President Obama proclaimed the war in Afghanistan “… is a cause that could not be more just.” What was he thinking? The country has been impregnable to foreign invasion for 2,500 years. Alexander the Great failed there; the British failed there; the Soviets failed there … did anyone with an ounce of brains think that we could succeed?
What does Panetta plan to do to counter this green on blue threat from our so-called Afghan allies? Well, he wants to start a “guardian angel” program. This involves identifying one individual who stands to the side of Afghani troops, or perhaps behind them, so that he can watch the backs of fellow Americans and presumably blow to hell the traitorous bastards before they can murder more American or Coalition personnel.
Sounds like a good plan. Except that anyone who kills an Afghani by shooting him in the back would likely face charges as a war criminal and spend the rest of his life at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. So my question is, “Is this your best shot, Mr. Panetta? Do you really think you enhance our foreign policy by keeping military personnel in Afghanistan so that they can serve as targets of opportunity for Afghan insurgents?”
Well, not entirely: Panetta has other good ideas, such as increasing the intelligence presence and perhaps increasing counterintelligence presence.
How much are we paying this clown?
For more than three years, the Obama administration has done nothing significant to improve our chances of winning the hearts and minds of the Afghani people. Along with his failure to fix our economy, Barack Obama is a failed commander in chief. Obama has known Afghanistan is a lost cause as far back as August 2009, when General Stanley McChrystal informed then Defense Secretary Robert Gates, “…the overall situation is deteriorating. We face not only a resilient and growing insurgency, there is also a crisis of confidence among Afghans — in both their government, and the international community— that undermines our credibility and emboldens the insurgents.”
What has President Obama done about this? Well, I mean besides implementing the guardian angel program … nothing.

I went to a drive-in today
I was hungrier than usual this morning, hadn't had breakfast, and was doing an errand for work, when I found my car turning unexplainably, into a JACK IN THE BOX drive through! Yes, it did, ALL by itself, honest! Then I thought "What's the least unhealthy thing here?" And, seeing nothing close to healthy on the board, and deciding I was too hungry to give a damn anyway, I ordered a SAUSAGE EGG CROISSANT. I haven't had one in years. It was worth it because it was utterly delicious...but for a better reason..............
The maroon SUV in front of my car got his bag and drove away, and I took my bag that popped out of the window attached to a little Hispanic girl, and the girl said "it's paid for..." and pointed to the car which had left. I said "What? WHY?" and she just shook her head, smiled, and pulled her head back into her Jack in the Box turtle shell.
A complete stranger paid for my breakfast. I think we should all do that. It gave my day a lift.

A NEW POSTER
A friend did this poster and I thought I had to share it with you...........good, huh?
While we're on the subject of big money, I'd like to ask something of you all: John Kerry was worth $240 million when he ran for president. Mitt Romney is worth $250 million now that he's running. SO, do you remember a huge flap about Kerry's millions and 'how can we elected such a rich man who doesn't care about you which is evidenced by his big bucks"? Of course not! Is this evidence that, because of the Left, we've really become a country where working hard and succeeding and getting rich isn't quite as cool as marrying someone and living off her husband's money, like Kerry is?
I'm confused...are you?
And yes, we know that the Left will say they slam him because Romney is a corporate raider, blahblahblah (and more blahblahblah....)...but was HEINZ, the company Mrs. Heinz/Kerry got rich from, the perfect example of corporate propriety? Just curious. And, you know how I love to point out utter and cheap hypocrisy.
Z (Thanks, Ryan, for the terrific poster!)

Culture of Corruption
According to the Associated Press, the Department of Defense (DoD) has released details of General William “Kip” Ward’s unauthorized spending spree. A 90-page report accuses General Ward of unauthorized travel, lengthy stays at lavish hotels for him and his wife, use of multi-vehicle motorcades, and accepting bribes from military contractors. General War previously served as Commander of the United States African Command, intended to retire a year ago, but the Army retained him on active duty pending the outcome of this investigation. Currently, Ward serves as a special assistant to the Chief of Staff of the Army.
DoD investigators did not release the amount of General Ward’s arrogant dishonesty, but inside sources compared it to the $800,000 excessive spending by the General Services Administration. Examples cited in the report included the following transgressions:
• During a trip to the nation’s capital, General Ward spent one day visiting wounded soldiers, had a 90-minute meeting on another day, a State Department meeting on a third day, and ended up billing the Pentagon more than $129,000 to cover per diem costs for himself, his wife, and 13 civilian and military staff members.
• Superiors denied General Ward the use of military aircraft for a personal trip, but he subsequently changed the trip to an official one, adding a quick meeting, and used the aircraft anyway.
• General Ward’s staff —that can include advance and security teams— often traveled days prior to his arrival, including one to Bermuda, remaining behind after the general departed. The cost of rooms in Bermuda for Ward and his staff came to more than $10,000, not including meals, transportation, or other costs.
The official who will decide General Ward’s fate is Defense Secretary Panetta. Panetta can force Ward to retire at a lower rank (lieutenant general), or he can force him to retire as a major general if there is evidence that Ward failed to serve satisfactorily in the grade of lieutenant general.
Here’s the problem. We should have a very high standard for our most senior military and civilian personnel, but the truth is that we often have a much lower standard. There does appear to be a culture of corruption in this administration. I cannot predict what Leon Panetta will decide in General Ward’s case, but I think that given the GSA scandal, Holder’s refusal to hold John Corzine accountable for his theft of over a billion dollars, and the fact that Barack Obama has wasted taxpayer money flying Michelle to New York City for a date and sending his kids to South America for Spring Break —General Ward will retire as a four star general.

Funny Colonoscopy? An Oxymoron...until Dave Berry
ABOUT THE WRITER: Dave Barry is a Pulitzer Prize-winning humor columnist for the Miami Herald.
Colonoscopy Journal: (Z: This is old but SO FUNNY I had to print it...enjoy!...I SWEAR if you don't laugh at this, you aren't breathing!)
I called my friend Andy Sable, a gastroenterologist, to make an appointment for a colonoscopy.
A few days later, in his office, Andy showed me a color diagram of the colon, a lengthy organ that appears to go all over the place, at one point passing briefly through Minneapolis. Then Andy explained the colonoscopy procedure to me in a thorough, reassuring and patient manner.
I nodded thoughtfully, but I didn't really hear anything he said, because my brain was shrieking, 'HE'S GOING TO STICK A TUBE 17,000 FEET UP YOUR BEHIND!'
I left Andy's office with some written instructions, and a prescription for a product called 'MoviPrep,' which comes in a box large enough to hold a microwave oven. I will discuss MoviPrep in detail later; for now suffice it to say that we must never allow it to fall into the hands of America 's enemies.
I spent the next several days productively sitting around being nervous.
Then, on the day before my colonoscopy, I began mypreparation. In accordance with my instructions, I didn't eat any solid food that day; all I had was chicken broth, which is basically water, only with less flavor.
Then, in the evening, I took the MoviPrep. You mix two packets of powder together in a one-liter plastic jug, then you fill it with lukewarm water. (For those unfamiliar with the metric system, a liter is about 32 gallons). Then you have to drink the whole jug. This takes about an hour, because MoviPrep tastes - and here I am being kind - like a mixture of goat spit and urinal cleanser, with just a hint of lemon.
The instructions for MoviPrep, clearly written by somebody with a great sense of humor, state that after you drink it, 'a loose, watery bowel movement may result.'
This is kind of like saying that after you jump off your roof, you may experience contact with the ground.
MoviPrep is a nuclear laxative. I don't want to be too graphic, here, but, have you ever seen a space-shuttle launch? This is pretty much the MoviPrep experience, with you as the shuttle. There are times when you wish the commode had a seat belt. You spend several hours pretty much confined to the bathroom, spurting violently. You eliminate everything. And then, when you figure you must be totally empty, you have to drink another liter of MoviPrep, at which point, as far as I can tell, your bowels travel into the future and start eliminating food that you have not even eaten yet.
After an action-packed evening, I finally got to sleep.
The next morning my wife drove me to the clinic. I was very nervous. Not only was I worried about the procedure, but I had been experiencing occasional return bouts of MoviPrep spurtage. I was thinking, 'What if I spurt on Andy?' How do you apologize to a friend for something like that? Flowers would not be enough.
At the clinic I had to sign many forms acknowledging that I understood and totally agreed with whatever the heck the forms said. Then they led me to a room full of other colonoscopy people, where I went inside a little curtained space and took off my clothes and put on one of those hospital garments designed by sadist perverts, the kind that, when you put it on, makes you feel even more naked than when you are actually naked.
Then a nurse named Thora put a little needle in a vein in my left hand. Ordinarily I would have fainted, but Thora was very good, and I was already lying down. Thora also told me that some people put vodka in their MoviPrep.
At first I was ticked off that I hadn't thought of this, but then I pondered what would happen if you got yourself too tipsy to make it to the bathroom, so you were staggering around in full Fire Hose Mode. You would have no choice but to burn your house.
When everything was ready, Thora wheeled me into the procedure room, where Andy was waiting with a nurse and an anesthesiologist. I did not see the 17,000-foot tube, but I knew Andy had it hidden around there somewhere. I was seriously nervous at this point.
Andy had me roll over on my left side, and the anesthesiologist began hooking something up to the needle in my hand.
There was music playing in the room, and I realized that the song was 'Dancing Queen' by ABBA. I remarked to Andy that, of all the songs that could be playing during this particular procedure, 'Dancing Queen' had to be the least appropriate.
'You want me to turn it up?' said Andy, from somewhere behind me.
'Ha ha,' I said. And then it was time, the moment I had been dreading for more than a decade. If you are squeamish, prepare yourself, because I am going to tell you, in explicit detail, exactly what it was like.
I have no idea. Really. I slept through it. One moment, ABBA was yelling 'Dancing Queen, feel the beat of the tambourine,' and the next moment, I was back in the other room, waking up in a very mellow mood.
Andy was looking down at me and asking me how I felt. I felt excellent. I felt even more excellent when Andy told me that It was all over, and that my colon had passed with flying colors. I have never been prouder of an internal organ.
On the subject of Colonoscopies, which are no joke, but these comments during the exam were quite humorous. A physician claimed that the following are actual comments made by his patients (predominately male) while he was performing their colonoscopies:
1. Take it easy Doc. You’re boldly going where no man has gone before.
2. 'Find Amelia Earhart yet?'
3. 'Can you hear me NOW?'
4. 'Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? '
5. 'You know, in Arkansas , we're now legally married.'
6. 'Any sign of the trapped miners, Chief?'
7. 'You put your left hand in, you take your left hand out... '
8. 'Hey! Now I know how a Muppet feels!'
9. 'If your hand doesn't fit, you must quit!'
10. 'Hey Doc, let me know if you find my dignity.'
11. 'You used to be an executive at Enron, didn't you?'
12. 'God, now I know why I am not gay.'
And the best one of all:
13. 'Could you write a note for my wife saying that my head is not up there?'

Corruption, anyone? Anyone?
Let’s suppose you were a businessman and you needed capital to open or expand an existing business. You develop a business plan and you carry it to your bank to ask for a seed loan. Maybe they look at your personal finances and determine that while it is true you’re a good businessperson, financially, you’re a bit over-extended at the moment. They invite you to piss off.
What do you do?
Like, dude ... there’s money to be made out there. If only you had $20 million dollars, you could start up that new automobile dealership in Ukraine. There’s a high demand for Porsche in Ukraine … or, at least, that’s what your cousin told you.
So, here’s what you do. You go to the Overseas Private Investment Corporation. This is an institution of the United States government. It provides capital to help solve critical development challenges, and in the process, it advances US foreign policy. And because OPIC works with the private sector, it helps US businesses gain a foothold in emerging markets. This helps solidify revenues, jobs, and growth opportunities at home, and abroad.
How does OPIC do this?
We're glad you asked. It provides investors with financing, guarantees, political risk insurance, and support for private equity investment funds.
How does this aid US foreign policy?
You guys are full of good questions! OPIC advances US foreign policy by encouraging development in regions of the world that have experienced instability or conflict, yet offer promising growth opportunities, such as in … well, Ukraine. And, since the money comes from the US government, OPIC helps to mitigate risk to US companies and investors, and it promotes a positive developmental effect for host nations, such as Ukraine.
Did you know that during Fiscal Year 2011, OPIC generated net income of more than $250 million. This helped reduce our federal budget deficit. Well, given our debt, not by much … but it still helped. Since its beginning, OPIC has supported nearly $200 billion of investment in more than 4,000 projects, and generated $75 billion in US exports, supporting more than 276,000 American jobs … when people still had jobs.
Okay, interesting stuff, but —so what?
Writing for The Washington Times, Christopher Bedford tells us, “In late July, John Hynansky —a longtime friend of Vice President Joe Biden, and a major donor to Biden’s campaigns as well as President Barack Obama’s — was awarded a $20 million taxpayer loan to build a foreign-car dealership in Ukraine. According to a public summary document, the loan, from the federal government’s Overseas Private Investment Corporation, is for ‘up to $20.0 million,’ and is designed to expand Winner Import Ukraine’s automobile business, [and] construct and operate ‘Winner Autocity,’ which will have two new, state-of-the-art dealership facilities for Porsche and Land Rover/Jaguar automobiles.”
Of course, given that the per capita GDP of Ukraine is $5,400 annually, it is hard to imagine that many Ukrainians will be lining up to purchase a new Porsche or Land Rover … but you never know. Maybe Ukraine is a socialist cesspool like the United States, where the government subsidizes monthly car payments for luxury models.
We realize that given the size of the US economy, $20 million is a mere drop in the bucket. But $20 million for a business opportunity in Ukraine (as opposed to providing seed money for a business opportunity here at home) seems ludicrous.
Oh, and did we mention that Hynansky and his family have been regular donors to Biden’s campaigns, and later, Barack Obama’s? Did we mention that all you need to do in order to get this $20 million dollar loan is mention Joe Biden's name at the OPIC? What an interesting coincidence, eh?
We aren't exactly sure how many US jobs this Ukrainian Autocity will create, but really ... who says corruption doesn't pay?

Sunday Faith Post
BIG time Scientists all saying that God's existence can be proven through SCIENCE? REALLY?
Yes, they sure are.........check THIS out.
That's all I'll say on the subject........the linked article is short and packs a punch. It includes the fact that the scientists working on this are Nobel winners, Templeton Award Winners, Cambridge and Harvard top notch scientists..."The scientists “come pretty much out of the closet,” and affirm that it is impossible for the universe to be random and without purpose....."
The article also includes this:
Sometimes, that's me, I have to admit.....most of you've assured me that scientific 'proof' makes no difference in your faith and I admire you. I like reading articles like this.......and I hope most of you will, too.
"Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands." Deuteronomy 7:9
Love him. And have a great Sunday.

“It doesn’t mean you necessarily need proof, what it means is that you need evidence so that you can have some kind of independent extrinsic verification of God because, of course, you’re intuition is not going to push you over the line. This is about 35 percent of our population.”

The Irrational Left
This country may be teetering on the edge of insanity. The news contains almost nothing that makes any sense. Here are a few examples:
Joe Biden, representing the political party that wrote Jim Crow laws, violated the civil rights of millions of black Americans, participated in the lynching of blacks throughout the south, and who refused to hire them in the north, is telling his audiences that the Republican Party wants to put black Americans “back in chains.” Yes, that’s right … the same political party that took this country to war in the first place to free the slaves; the party of Lincoln.
And then you have Debbie Wasserman-Schultz telling her audiences that if they vote to elect Romney to the presidency, Ryan will tear through convalescent homes like a tornado, denying seniors of their medical care entitlements.
Another leftist is suggesting that one solution to the Tea Party movement is, “… we take these sons of bitches out and [shoot’em].”

It never stops. According to the Daily Caller, MSNBC co-host Touré proved he was unhinged when he accused Mitt Romney of “niggerization,” whatever the heck that means.
And then you have the Huffington Post proclaiming the Family Research Center, which supports normal heterosexual behavior, a hate group —this pronouncement following an incident where Floyd Corkins walked into the Family Research Center and shot their security guard in the arm. Okay, so wait a minute. The FRC is minding its own business, is attacked by a volunteer from a community center for sexual deviants, and FRC is a hate group? Are they stupid?

Sticks n' Stones.......
“Calling Mr. Romney's economic plans Romney Hood was dim because everyone likes Robin Hood, so Romney Hood sounds kind of like a compliment. Now and then the foes of a candidate accidentally do him a good turn. The Soviets thought they were disparaging Margaret Thatcher when they called her the Iron Lady. She was cold, wouldn't bend, couldn't compromise. The British heard the epithet and thought: "Exactly! And exactly what we need!" An admiring nickname meant as an insult was born. Mr. Romney should go with it, lay out how he'll save taxpayers from the predators of the liberal left and call that Romney Hood.” —Peggy Noonan
I could not agree more. I would be so proud of Mitt Romney if he concluded his next political campaign ad with, “My name is Romney Hood, and I approved this message.”
—Mustang Sends
geeeeez
Z agrees.......Robin Hood is a beloved figure and Romney does want to get liberal government hands (King Richard's enemies) out of the pockets of the middle class (Sherwood Forest dwellers).........! My gosh, if one more liberal characterizes Romney's tax plans as MAKING THE RICH RICHER and STEALING FROM THE MIDDLE CLASS, we're going to have to start schools for listening comprehension or something! I'm Z, and I approve Mustang's message! :-)

Progressive Legacy: Lies and Distortions
According to the Daily Caller, administration officials have finally confirmed they don’t care about our system of government —you know, where the legislature passes acts, and the executive signs them into law. One may recall that a democratically controlled congress refused to take up the so-called Dream Act in 2010, and so now … miraculously timed to benefit him during the 2012 presidential election cycle, the communist in chief picked up his Mont Blanc pen and made the Dream Act official policy by fait accompli.
But wait … it gets better. As initially explained to us, the purpose of the Dream Act was to do the right thing by those poor illegal aliens dragged to America by their illegal parents (who are now progressive movement policy makers). If they graduated from an American high school, enrolled in college for five seconds, served as first responders or a hitch in the military services, then they could petition the government to become lawful citizens. After all, it wasn’t their fault.
The new official policy by fait accompli now adds about 350,000 low-skill, unemployed, and middle school dropouts to the 800,000 people under the age of 31 announced by President Obama last June. The inclusion of middle school dropouts with skilled workers, scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs gives us gas.
Why?
Because in an environment where between 8.9 and 20% of the American people are unemployed, Obama grants legal status to over a million more people —all of whom are now legally competing for American jobs.
Of course, no one in the Obama administration is calling this amnesty. To them, it’s mere “Consideration of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals” —which brings us back to the title of this post: more progressive lies and distortions. And hopefully, if they can get this done in time for the November elections … well, you know.

"TV or NOT TV"
I've been thinking for a long time that I wish we had the kind of news coverage we used to have......
"News at six, film at eleven". For those of you who are too young to remember (First, let me give you my condolences because that means you didn't know America when she was a better country), it took until eleven o'clock for the news to get a film up to illustrate whatever news stories they covered at the dinner hour.
Maybe they had news at noon, too, I don't remember. And maybe five and six pm, but then it was OFF until later at night. People walked, read, did homework, spent time with each other and watched entertaining television that wasn't reality shows, raunchy sitcoms, etc.
Since then, all the many news programs must have advertising money so they have news on all day and they cash in from advertisers. My opinion is that this is choking us. I don't know about you, but as much as I hate to hear a little girl's been abducted in Mississippi, or a 21 year old woman disappeared coming out of a New York bar and hasn't been seen since, I don't want to know about it. I have enough on my mind. You do, too. I think it wears at us...erodes us............puts us on edge. As if life in America today wasn't bad enough.
For those of you who'll say "Just turn off your TV," that's not the point of my post. The point is I think there's too much news and that all networks seem to squeeze every minute that they can out of every story and I think that's unhealthy for a society.
DO YOU?
While we're on it, is there a wonderful old entertaining TV show you'd like to see back on the air? Funny, I wrote this post a few days ago (and even posted it and got a few comments but then saved it again), then decided to post it Wednesday morning and had received this today...which I figured kind of illustrates entertaining TV!....enjoy...but I would still like to know if you agree about the TV NEWS situation... do you feel like "Enough already!"?

Mustang says "Let's Pretend..."
Let’s pretend you just won a state or regional lottery. Three days from now, you’ll receive $20 million from lottery officials. Of course, you aren’t used that that kind of money. You aren’t a CPA or a tax attorney. You aren’t sure about the long-term consequences of accepting annual payments, or alternatively, a lump-sum payment. You aren’t sure about the rights of your survivors.
Don’t worry. You can choose someone to help you understand the ramifications of one or more decisions. You can have one of the following persons advise you concerning your family’s financial welfare. Do you put the money in savings, do you reinvest it, put your money into real estate, or do you make infantile purchases?
Your advisor is either a community organizer, or the Chairman of the House Budget Committee.
Which of these will you select?
news this morning:
We're losing $25 Billion on the $85 Billion GM Bailout........so much for Community Organizers?
What did Obama mean by "GM is ROARING BACK?" Honda is, but GM? nope

Our Pal China?
Most Favored Nation (also known as Permanent Normal Trade Relations) status was accorded to China in 1980, renewed annually by presidential order until 1989, when China decided to run over dissidents with tanks in Tiananmen Square. Public Law accorded China PNTR status, signed in to law by President Clinton in December 2000. This paved the way for China’s accession to the World Trade Organization and, ostensibly, granted US agricultural exporter’s access to Chinese markets.
Now the Washington Post is telling us, POSING AS TOYMAKER, CHINESE MERCHANT ALLEGEDLY SOUGHT U.S. TECHNOLOGY FOR IRAN.
The article tells us, “The Chinese toy maker said he was seeking parts for a “magic horse,” a metal-framed playground pony. But the exotic, wildly expensive raw material he wanted seemed better suited for space travel than backyard play. His shopping list, sent by e-mail to a Seattle factory, started with 20 tons of maraging steel, an ultra-strong alloy often used in rockets. The buyer didn’t flinch at the price tag —$2 million— but he repeatedly insisted on secrecy. ‘This material,’ an associate confided in an e-mail, ‘are danger [sic] goods.”’
If Chinese firms are willing accomplices to Iranian agents, it is not without the knowledge or consent of the People’s Republic of China. Let’s be grown up about this, however. We should expect China to pursue its national interests, which apparently includes helping Iran to obtain American technology to use against Israel and (presumably) the United States. I seem to recall the Chinese —several of whom were associates of Bill Clinton and Al Gore— attempted to influence American elections in 1996, and according to the Congressional Research Service, actually acquired US nuclear weapons technology in 1999.
No, we get it. What we don’t understand is why China continues to warrant PNTR status. Are we that desperate to sell cucumbers to China? It sort of makes one wonder whose side our elected officials is on …

No, we get it. What we don’t understand is why China continues to warrant PNTR status. Are we that desperate to sell cucumbers to China? It sort of makes one wonder whose side our elected officials is on …
Z: just to throw in a thought...we need a president again who commands respect for our country...........not one who makes us look like DUPES. Great post, Mustang.

Behind the Sleaze
According to the Washington Times, ten disgustingly rich people came up with the money that paid for the infamous Soptic Ad accusing Romney as contributing to the death of Joe Soptic’s wife. Z and I wonder how much of that $12.55 million went into Joe Soptic's pockets.
Who are these swine?
Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO Dreamworks;
Irwin Mark Jacobs, founder Qualcomm;
Fred Eychaner, political activist;
Barbara Stiefel, philanthropist;
Steve Mostyn, trial lawyer;
Amy Goldman, daughter of the late New York City real estate mogul Sol Goldman;
Kareem Ahmed, CEO of Landmark Medical Management;
Bill Maher, TV host and comedian;
Franklin Haney, real estate developer;
Morgan Freeman, actor.
Do these people have freedom of speech? Yes, of course. They do not have a right to slander anyone. And you know —there are consequences to free speech.
Personally, I think I’ve watched my last Dreamworks film, and my last film staring Morgan Freeman. Bill Maher is a misogynist piece of crap and I never watched any of his televised filth.
How do you see it?

Sunday Faith Blog
Wow....an Atheist had quite a change of heart on the borders of hell.............read about it HERE. I guarantee you'll be fascinated and might even want to send it around.
Here are the first two paragraphs:
"In some near-death experiences, people report they were drawn toward “the light.” But in this horrifying near-death experience for an atheist art professor, he was drawn into the darkness of hell, which dramatically altered the course of his life.
“I was a double atheist,” says Howard Storm, who became a tenured art professor at Northern Kentucky University by age 27. “I was a know-it-all college professor, and universities are some of the most closed-minded places there are,” he notes."
Z: Parents, when you think your kids have really lost their way, please remember what this new Christian said, at the age of 37 when this all happened:
His thoughts floated back again to himself as a nine-year-old in Sunday School, “I remembered myself singing “Jesus Loves Me,” and I could feel it inside me. As a child, I thought Jesus was really cool and he was my buddy and he would take care of me.”
When the atheist finally yelled "Jesus! Please save me!", he wrote.........
Immediately he recognized Jesus, the King of Kings, the Rescuer, the Deliverer. “His arms reached down and touched me and everything healed up and came back together,” he recalls. “He filled me with a love I never knew existed.”
Then he picked up Howard, like one football player picking up a fallen teammate on the field, put his arms around him, and Howard cried like a baby in His arms. “He carried me out of there and we headed to where God lives.”
The "double Atheist" now does missionary work in Beliz :-) And he's written a book MY DESCENT INTO DEATH.
"That everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life" John 3:15
Have a believing Sunday! As it says at the end of the article, Jesus told him to ".go back and live your life differently." Let's all try to do even better than we do.

Here's the TIMELINE...
By the very wonderful Michael Ramirez, who told the truth too many times in his cartoons for my Los Angeles Times to continue to carry his excellent work. It's hard not to type JOE SEPTIC, isn't it? I agree with you, FT. FW, thanks for this link...
I'm hoping the liberals will read this closely so they can learn something before commenting again.

Soptic AD: Obama advisors lied
"Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki acknowledged Thursday that the campaign was no longer pleading ignorance about the story of a man who has appeared in both a Super PAC ad and a campaign ad." HERE is the story.
"Stephanie Cutter knew Joe Soptic, and heard the entire story well before the Priorities USA ad debuted over the airways. It’s now obvious that she lied when trying to deny it this week. It’s highly likely that Robert Gibbs and other high level Obama campaign advisers knew Joe Soptic and his story very well. It is a violation of federal law for a campaign to coordinate with Super PACs. While it could be very difficult to prove that there was any direct coordination going on, at the very least it has now become obvious that the Obama campaign knew the specifics about Soptic, and that they lied about it repeatedly." That's from THIS article.
Not only that, but Soptic was offered a BUYOUT FROM BAIN back in the day....
What's on your mind about all of this?
And do you think Obama's really sweating this or "No big deal...the American people won't hear the aftermath of that ad...but it sure did hit home with them, lie or not" (that's my quote, not his, Z)

STEAL THE VOTE
We could say there are more than 160 counties in the United States that have registered more voters than actually reside in those counties.
We could tell you that there are 500 more registered voters than there are residents in one Illinois County.
We could tell you more than 2 million dead people continue to appear on county voter rolls, coast to coast.
We might even suggest that Team Obama’s selective enforcement of immigration and its refusal to assist states wishing to purge their voter registration lists —while denying the voter fraud is even an issue— endangers one of our most sacred liberties: voting.
We could do that, but then the least intelligent among us would show up to assert (a) there is no problem, and/or (b) embed a video of one of the George Soros organizations showing Harry Reid demanding that Romney release his father’s tax records.
No, We are not going to make these assertions, but a non-partisan group called True the Vote has made them: we report, you decide. Meanwhile, a federal judge has informed the Holder Justice Department (an oxymoron if ever there was one) that Florida has every right to purge its voter registration records. California activists, on the other hand, are seeking to push through legislation that allows registration on the same day as voting. No, seriously.
What is the voter buzz where you live?

THE PRESS IS A LIE
Years ago, the American press prided itself on its fierce independence and impartiality.
Hardly anyone who became the focus on an inquisitive press much appreciated these stalwart members of the so-called Fourth Estate, but they did serve the interests of the American people by exposing despicable politicians —forgive the oxymoron. The press even maintained its independence during wartime—yes, even when military commanders censored information due to the need for operational secrecy. There was Edward R. Murrow, Ernie Pyle, Andy Rooney, Ralph Barnes, Mike Wallace, Douglas Edwards, and Walter Cronkite.
In those days, the press had integrity. Yes, it’s true that journalists came up with the stories demanded of them by editors —men who had earned their spurs in the trenches— but not without a lot of backtalk. They knew darn well the editors wouldn’t fire them: they were the best journalists on the planet. And they were proud to wear the AEF patch on their shoulder that told everyone who they were: American journalists.
But then, the focus of journalism began to shift away from reporting the facts to something entirely different. Journalists wanted to convince Americans how terrible their country was to be at war with the Vietnamese. Journalism in Vietnam became shoddy and purpose driven; the stories were as bad as the demands for body counts by military commanders trying to prove we were winning. Some journalists made up their stories from the comfort of their hotels in downtown Saigon —where they stayed mostly drunk and away from the danger of the battlefield. But bless their hearts, they always made their deadlines.
Subsequently, journalism took on yet another complexion. Students fell under the spell of neo-communist professors who told their students, “If you want to be a reporter, then you have to stop being an American.” There was no room in journalism for anyone felt an allegiance to any country. We could see this in the press, too. Journalists stopped wearing American flag lapel pins. The news desk no longer had an American flag just behind the newsreader. And then, news no longer cared about the Who, What, Where, When, How, or Why? … it was suddenly all about social engineering and the agenda was poignantly leftist progressive. How many times has the press claimed that a mass shooter belonged to the Tea Party, or was a right-wing skin head, or a registered republican. And then, when it was proven to be a lie … stone-dead-silence. There was never a retraction, no apology, and no display of journalistic integrity.
Geeez has been writing about this for several years. Typically, whenever a conservative blog dares to suggest that the “State Run Media” is eating out of Barack Obama’s hand, the loons arise from the swamp, squawking loudly, “It just isn’t true you poopy-head right-wing extremists!”
But the problem is, it is true. The press is eating out of the hand of Barack Obama and his henchmen. First to testify about this is New York Times writer Jeremy Peters. You can read the story [here]. Z and I highly recommend you take a look.
We aren’t so much worried about the print media; it is debatable whether print media is even relevant. Most Americans don’t read newspapers or news magazines —this is because most Americans can’t read. The new media almost entirely consists of television news 24/7 (we like to think of it as news until you puke), blogs, and the new social media, Facebook and Twitter: all the news fit to print in sixteen words or less.
Make no mistake … journalists are eating out of the hand of Barack Obama. Were this not true, then Eric Holder, Nancy Pelosi, and Barney Frank would be in prison, Obama fully exposed for the corrupt thug that he is, and members of congress would be packing their bags looking for another line of work. And America would be a much better place to live.
--Mustang Sends (Z illustrates!)
Amen to that, Mustang and thanks for this great piece. I hope people send this to their friends, it needs to be read and digested. --Z

Democrats Eat Their Young
Thirty-five year old Mark Clayton just won the Democratic nomination for the United States Senate in the state of Tennessee. Clayton intends to challenge Republican Bob Corker in November, but he’ll have to do it without the backing of his party.
What??
That’s right!
Because Clayton espouses conservative and libertarian views, the Party of Cordell Hull, Estes Kefauver, and Al Gore have disavowed Clayton. They say he’s part of an anti-gay hate group —which is how Democrats define anyone with conservative, libertarian, or Christian views.
But is Clayton's organization really an anti-gay hate group?
According to the Public Advocate web site:
“Since its founding in 1981, Public Advocate has grown into a dedicated group of young conservatives in Washington, D.C., with a network of volunteers and supporters nationwide. Our continuous growth over the years is due to the fact that we have never wavered from our firm conviction that political decisions should begin and end with the best interests of American families and communities in mind.
"In recent years, our efforts have focused on supporting:
* A federal traditional marriage (man-woman) amendment to the Constitution to defend traditional marriage from assaults from those who claim to promote "same sex marriage"
* School prayer and the freedom of religious expression in public places
* Faith-based and community initiatives;
* Pro-life legislation;
* The promotion and protection of the Boy Scouts, organized sports and other activities that reinforce morality, accountability and leadership in our youth;
* Tax cuts and the exposure of wasteful "pork barrel" spending for the benefit of liberal special interests; and,
* Equality under the law, regardless of one's sexual orientation."
Well, there you have it. Equality under the law, regardless of one’s sexual orientation does sound like a hate group, doesn't it?
Maybe we’re missing something here. Where is the logic in accusing someone of hating homosexuals simply because he or she believes in the traditional/biblical definition of marriage, or faith-based community initiatives? The answer is, there is no logic in such arguments. But then again, we are discussing the Democratic Party.
Well, we suppose that settles it: Tennesseans will just have to vote for a Republican.
