Democrats Eat Their Young

Thirty-five year old Mark Clayton just won the Democratic nomination for the United States Senate in the state of Tennessee. Clayton intends to challenge Republican Bob Corker in November, but he’ll have to do it without the backing of his party.

What??

That’s right!

Because Clayton espouses conservative and libertarian views, the Party of Cordell Hull, Estes Kefauver, and Al Gore have disavowed Clayton. They say he’s part of an anti-gay hate group —which is how Democrats define anyone with conservative, libertarian, or Christian views.

But is Clayton's organization really an anti-gay hate group?

According to the Public Advocate web site:

“Since its founding in 1981, Public Advocate has grown into a dedicated group of young conservatives in Washington, D.C., with a network of volunteers and supporters nationwide. Our continuous growth over the years is due to the fact that we have never wavered from our firm conviction that political decisions should begin and end with the best interests of American families and communities in mind.

"In recent years, our efforts have focused on supporting:

* A federal traditional marriage (man-woman) amendment to the Constitution to defend traditional marriage from assaults from those who claim to promote "same sex marriage"

* School prayer and the freedom of religious expression in public places

* Faith-based and community initiatives;

* Pro-life legislation;

* The promotion and protection of the Boy Scouts, organized sports and other activities that reinforce morality, accountability and leadership in our youth;

* Tax cuts and the exposure of wasteful "pork barrel" spending for the benefit of liberal special interests; and,

* Equality under the law, regardless of one's sexual orientation."

Well, there you have it. Equality under the law, regardless of one’s sexual orientation does sound like a hate group, doesn't it?

Maybe we’re missing something here.  Where is the logic in accusing someone of hating homosexuals simply because he or she believes in the traditional/biblical definition of marriage, or faith-based community initiatives?  The answer is, there is no logic in such arguments.  But then again, we are discussing the Democratic Party.

 Well, we suppose that settles it: Tennesseans will just have to vote for a Republican.

This is why there are no more Scoop Jacksons in the Democrat part.

The Democrat party is becoming increasingly radicalized by their leftwing kook fringe, and they paid for it in 2012. Let's hope the trend continues.

Have you ever seen logic on the left and statists in general? They're sophists.

You know what that shows? It shows that the Democratic Party is far from being the one when I came here under Clinton. It's now the equivalent of the Socialist Party in France. I'm not kidding. Although the Socialist Party in France is not that liberal on some social issues (abortion for example.)

I personally wish the State didn't have to handle marriages at all. I know that may shock people but after all, is it really its jobs? It should be left to churches and faiths, or lawyers helping people write contract between the two of them. It may open a can of worms but I'd rather put my trust in churches and their moral values of what marriage is about vs. the pseudo morality of the State.

I absolutely agree with Silverfiddle, and I somewhat agree with Frog Burger. But I see a problem. A church can wed people, but only the state can decouple them because of the financial aspects of child support and alimony. And then we have those religions based on Shar’ia law, which is an abomination to all civilized peoples. If we allow Shar’ia law to govern even one aspect of western life, then the camel’s nose is under the tent.

Robert, it doesn't mean the state cannot enforce some laws to make sure we don't end up with women being discriminated for example. Or laws to make sure someone doesn't have a sexual relationship a child as part of a union. So basically as long as there's no victim, it's all good. A very Libertarian view, I know. And yes, it does imply polygamy or polyandry and opens up a bunch of issues.

I think the contract would have to be validated by the State since the State is in charge of making sure contracts are valid. But as far as the word marriage is concerned, why would the State be involved? Just validate the contract and move on.

It's a very complex issue.

Since the Slime-balls of Occupy Wall Street went into hibernation we are now seeing these other dingbats like Harry Reid as Obama's front man and foot soldiers. Lying like a rug and saying whatever it takes to gain votes. And making himself look even for foolish than he already does.
This is what the Presidency has declined to. Has America become a nation of Crooks and Liars?
Barack Hussein Obama is the biggest disgrace to the office of the President of the United States of America and the biggest embarrassment to the American people since this nation was founded. God bless those that have made the ultimate sacrifice for this Republic.

Silverfiddle nailed it, as always.

Hmmm. Maybe we should draft him to run for the presidency!

You're right. I wouldn't take it. Being in government would slowly kill me. Even though I understand foreign affairs is part of the gov job unlike General Motors.

Well Farmer, why should the Democratic party waste time and money on someone to the right of Corker?

Initially I'd think why should anyone with any righteousness run as a democrat, but then the idea of talking over the democrat party form within is pretty Righteous itself !

Go man go.

Z said...

Yes, Elbro!!

KID needs a duty with the Silverfiddle White House (i like the sound of that!)

KID....Secretary/Head of anything that we don't have covered yet! HE'S GOOD! :-)

Z, I'm not sure what you're getting me into, but I'd put Silverfiddle in charge of anything including CinC.

As far as me, if I had my choice put me in charge of education.

We'll have non-political, but patriotic schools that teach the facts in each of the courses and the facts only.

If some parents want to have their kids know how to put a condom on a cucumber, they can do that themselves.

Oggghhhmmmmmmmmmmm.

I'm the new Secretary of Culture.

Wait till you catch my act.

Considering your infatuation with scatalogical processes duhkkky, I think I'll just take a probiotocs pill or eat some yogurt.

Departments of Culture are totally useless. The State has nothing to do with culture. Great way to only sponsor artists that agree with you.

Ducky would take the job where there's no need for accountability or measurable criteria of success.

I think if I could job and have the skills, I'd be Chef at the White House. THAT appeals to me a lot more.

I was born and raised in Tennessee. Before we moved, we had the pleasure of helping vote Albert Gore, Sr out of office. There is also a situation in the state that you don't have to declare your political party during a primary.

We (Republicans) would occasionally vote a distasteful Democrat into their party's nomination, and smash that poor idiot in the general election. You cam bet that folks in Tennessee knew what they were doing, and that they were not Democrats.

Mustang said...

@Bob ...

So do you think Clayton knows that this is a waste of his time and money, or is there an even deeper conspiracy?

Bob said...

Mustang, I think Clayton is like the advocates of Lynden LaRush (spell?). Those people would do anything to get publicity, and Clayton has his fifteen minutes. Plus, he has served his purpose of furnishing an explanation why the Democrats could not find a decent candidate.

But, I have to rely on friends in Tennessee to tell me these things. All my news is second hand.

Lyndon LaRouche - A really strange advocate of various wierd philosophies . He was somewhat like Ron Paul in that he attracted a certain of following of youth space cadets. But, that's my opinion.
