Mustang says "Let's Pretend..."

Let’s pretend you just won a state or regional lottery. Three days from now, you’ll receive $20 million from lottery officials. Of course, you aren’t used that that kind of money. You aren’t a CPA or a tax attorney. You aren’t sure about the long-term consequences of accepting annual payments, or alternatively, a lump-sum payment. You aren’t sure about the rights of your survivors.

Don’t worry. You can choose someone to help you understand the ramifications of one or more decisions. You can have one of the following persons advise you concerning your family’s financial welfare. Do you put the money in savings, do you reinvest it, put your money into real estate, or do you make infantile purchases?

Your advisor is either a community organizer, or the Chairman of the House Budget Committee.

Which of these will you select?
news this morning:

We're losing $25 Billion on the $85 Billion GM Bailout........so much for Community Organizers?
What did Obama mean by "GM is ROARING BACK?"  Honda is, but GM?  nope

...Mustang
and geeez!

I ain't selecting either. I've done very well making my own decisions.

I am sure Obama will blame Bush for this, in 3....2....1

Mr. Ducky an existentialist? Interesting.

When the left says Obama saved the auto industry and GM, it's the biggest lie ever. You have to be really dumb to believe it. The stock price is down, the sales are down, etc... The only thing that temporarily relieved GM is the Toyota breaks problem.

The French gov was long involved in the auto industry (Renault b/c of the post-WWII nationalization by De Gaulle as a punishment for collaborating) and when they privatized it Renault did better.

One of those rare times I agree with Ducky. I'd go for an Aston Martin. But in my case, it wouldn't contradict my beliefs.

Ducky you have to pick a different car. Like this one for example.

75% of GM now resides in China and we taxpayers ought to be wondering about that. It isn't that we object to "free market capitalism," but rather we object to paying to sustain a company now resident in a communist country.

GE isn't far behind. I find this ironic considering that GE's CEO is Obama's "Jobs Czar."

I won't buy another GM automobile, and I will avoid buying GE whenever possible.

As for my choice ... I don't need Obama's help with anything.

My wife and daughter just came back from a trip to Beijing.

They both were impressed with the friendliness of the people, the modern look to the city...easy and orderly transportation....great food....great shopping ( very important! ) and no hassles entering or leaving the country and passing through China's customs.

I'd say if the want to keep it that way...they'd never try to sever the relationship with their largest market...or would they?

I keep wondering if I'm going to wake up and find that Barack Obama was just a terrible nightmare. I'd rather have some one advise me that knew something about finance, tax law, and the longer term consequences of investment vs. spending.

Actually Mark Adams, in Cheney's book they discussed the impending collapse of the auto industry but said they'd 'leave it for the next guy.' True

Why would winguts been happy to see their neighbors out of work had GM gone under? Why do they hate America?

As for this video; Ah, they're lying folks.

That wasn't the experience my lnlaws had when they went over there to pick up their adopted daughter. That was two years ago.

Saving one the the many infant girls that are tossed in the waste baskets thanks to China's version of Planned Parenthood.

Libman you're a moron.

Nobody's happy people working for GM lose their job.

But when a company runs out of money, it runs out of money. Period. Someone will pick up the slack and potentially the employees. (If the environment is business friendly enough.)

Why does it have to be bailed out? Why not all the small businesses that don't make it within 2 years? What about the restaurants that close in LA after 6 months?

Try to turn on the brain button next to your ear. LEt me know if you haven't found it. I'll show you.

Anybody forgetting that Obama didn't exactly save jobs in the auto industry? He saved union jobs

If I won the lottery, I would be contacting my accountant friend, and get her advice and then proceed from there, but first my tithes and offering to my church and other churches.

Obama is and always be clueless about economics, otherwise we wouldn't be in this much debt, and I despise that we are indebted to China.

I thought Mustang might see this by now...I'm not nitpicking but.."We're losing $25 million on the $85 million GM Bailout........"

Should be...Billions with very large "B".

To this gov't...millions are pocket change.

First you have to chose annual or lump sum (when you buy the ticket(s))before the lotto.
Second you need to set up a trust for your heirs, then financial interest-and future tax avoidance schemes err loop holes. (the Dems wrote the tax loop holes so take advantage of them before the Repubs knock out the Dems buddy system of hiding money--offshore).
The latest CBO numbers say that GM and the Auto Workers Union will loose about 25 percent, BANKRUPTCY IS LOOMING NEAR AGAIN.
SO MUCH FOR BHO's MIDAS TOUCH.

The Treasury Department? An agency of the Federal government is lying to the American people?

Who would ever believe that?

Well, it's true. He is and will never be anything more than a community agitator. With a senile uncle for a VP.

Oh, what fun. Time for the adults to come back.

I hope so, USMC! :-)

I would rely on my own advice. Government people have no business discussing investments.

Keep in mind that Obama is not stupid. He is malicious. He doesn't care if America succeeds or fails, he just wants to be in power. That's the way Marxists are.

why do you hate the free market or deny the fact that business involves risk and if a company overextends itself does not make the rest of us culpable.

HELLO!??

But if you find yourself going off on long tangents about personal matters, it's time to get back on track. Your topic will also influence how personal or professional you want to come across in your style. A good rule of thumb is: if you wouldn't say it in an email to a client, it shouldn't go up on your company's blog.

Remember that your blog is only effective if it serves the needs of your readers and keeps them interested in your business.
