PAUL RYAN

 PAULRYANPAULRYANPAULRYAN
..............etc. etc etc.
OUT OF THE BALLPARK.  Not much else to say.................have you got anything?

Oh. I have one more thing;   GOV SUSANA MARTINEZ....she made me cry.    America needs more Latinas who change from Democrat to Republican and LOVE THIS COUNTRY for all they can do here, not what it can do for them.  God bless her.   She's a rock star....as smart as they get, beautifully confident and a patriot.

(as a kind of creepy aside, I just Googled PAUL RYAN IMAGES and they don't have one of him giving his speech, almost 3 hours after he ended it.  They managed to include a picture of Mrs Ryan holding a kid while he spoke, but I guess Google just can't manage to find one picture of Paul Ryan up there talking......   really creepy.)

I LOVED Susana's entire speech, especially when she told the story that concluded with, "well I'll be damned, We're Republicans!"" I think that is a realization many and many more have made during the obama hostage crisis.

I loved Condi's speech also. Absolutely brilliant. I looked at my wife and said, "these Republicans sure hate women, don't they?" This entire convention put on display The ridiculousness of the entire democrat fluke theme.

I don't know about you, but I am FIRED UP! After Ryan. "We can do this!"

Ryan hit it wayyyy out of the park last night! Without a doubt, the best speech I've EVER heard! And without a doubt and Condi Rice was really great, and btw she gave that whole speech without a Teleprompter!
I’ll admit that I didn't vote for Obama but when he won I actually hoped he would succeed. I wanted him succeed, I hoped he would succeed and come through for our country. But he hasn't and he's failed and I can see he is not the man for the job.

WE have a presidents that wants to be reelected but cant run on his last 4 years record, so why give him another 4 years? Its time that we the people start demanding it from him and the media to start reporting it of him, Obama had two years of majority in the house and the senate. Why did nothing get done then. His policies have failed. It's time for "ANYTHING BUT OBAMA".
And I hope that the "ignorant" voters in this country WON’T put him back in office.

I particularly liked the one where Ryan blamed Obama for a GM plant that closed under Bush.

Truth:
Janesville GM factory was in operation in June, 2009...5 months into the Obama presidency.

Joe said...

The Quack said: "... a GM plant that closed under Bush."

See, leftists believe what they say is true because they say it, not because it is actually true.

Condoleezza Rice and Governor Martinez were electrfying!

So much for the liberal painting of Republicans as anti-woman and racists.

It is actually liberals who practice economic slavery evry day!

All of the speeches were actually more interesting and substantive than anything else on TV.

Now if Jeb Bush gets up there and starts chastizing the Party, as he is said to be planning, I think he should be invited to go join Charlie Crist.

His stock has fallen through the floor in my book.

I've sensed that smell of victory before: 1960 (Dems/JFK), 1980 (GOP/Reagan), 1996 (Dems/Clinton), and 2008 (Dems/Obama).

You know, I'm normally fast asleep by 9:00 P.M. because I get up in the morning no later than 4:30 A.M. to begin caregiving tasks.

Ryan will be absolutely wonderful as our Vice president. Paul Ryan is everything that Barack Obama is not, intelligent, honest, humble, and real, someone who we can believe in. Especially after the one we currently have who makes me feel ashamed. January 20th, 2013 can't come soon enough for me.

FROM Z:

A MAJOR SNOOZE??
FB! the speech got better and better and it was the clever way he described things that was the clincher...he wasn't a hack with "Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?"
I mean, he said that in 100 ways, but they were KILLER clever ways.

My fave line was when he told young people "you shouldn't have to be still living at your parents' home staring up at a faded Obama poster wishing you could get a job and get out"

I paraphrase, but.... !!

Anonymous said...

Z, i guess I listen to too much politics so nothing's surprising to me. That's maybe why.

I was actually upset at the medicare line b/c he promised medicare for everyone. But I thought the plan was to allow younger generations to opt out.

So to me, I'm getting mixed signals and it's not a good sign.

I understand it from a political standpoint but I think we may very well have to deal with compassionate conservatism again. And we know where it ended. That's my concern.

Anonymous said...

FROM Z:

Yes, FB, I fear there will be a little compassionate conservatism, but we'll get raked over the coals for not wanting that, by the left, of course.
"YOU DON'T WANT TO BE COMPASSIONATE?"

NO!, too much GOVERNMENT COMPASSION got us into the place we're in in the first place..

Seems to me that Ryan mentioning Medicare for everybody doesn't exclude younger people opting out...maybe that wasn't the place to discuss every "opt out", etc? I hope that's why he didn't specifically mention that.

Did you see where Obama's ads are enticing more and more to welfare, reminding Americans THERE'S FREE MONEY TO BE HAD!?? IMagine our founding fathers and what they'd have thought?

We've really lost our way via the liberal agenda of "promise them anything for votes".

You're right, we need to be compassionate to our friends and family, but via US not so much via the Government.

Anonymous said...

Let the states be compassionate, not the Federal government. IT's not its job. And there'll be less waste this way.

I don't mind a safety net for people who can't help themselves. And that includes elderly that may not have enough money. But that should be at the state level.

Anonymous said...

From Z:

The states are BROKE...do you think there's any real way out of this?

Chris Christie was very clear the other night, and always, about how he explained carefully WHY they had to practice austerity and his state has recovered very well, financially... And that's a pretty Democrat state.

Think Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney can make Americans understand we can't keep borrowing from China to pay our bills?
I wish one of them would talk very plainly about that.

obama's frequently talking about Americans sitting around the "kitchen table" suffering and talking about their financial woes...
let's extrapolate on that as Republicans and say "so...if that is the case at YOUR house, as Obama so sadly describes, would you say 'well, let's borrow a million anywhere we can get it, and keep spending like we always do!"

Think Americans might buy that? wouldn't you THINK!?

I know they're broke so yes it's not any different except that it's at a smaller scale.

Gov can be more efficient if it's smaller.

I more and more firmly believe that if income tax was illegal we wouldn't be here today. The fact they can take money right out of our pay check is too easy.

If we had a different system based on fees for example with strict budget allocation, and that we'd pay by sending a check, it would force gov to make decisions like a business and we'd also see how much we're paying, very much like regular bills.

SF linked a FABULOUS link above showing that it's the media lying about Paul Ryan, not Paul Ryan lying:
I KNEW that that guy would NEVER risk lying about something whose details could be so easily checked upon; he's way too smart for that and has too good character, plus he knows we have to win or we lose America.
Here's the part about the GM Plant in Janesville. There's more really good stuff about Medicare, Simpson/Bowles, etc.:

UPDATE: Jonathan Adler of National Review offers these observations about the Janesville GM plant closing:

Pundits and fact-checkers are claiming that Paul Ryan misrepresented the history of the Janesville, Wisconsin General Motors plant in his convention speech. The primary charge is that the plant closed when Bush was still President. It seems the fact-checkers need to double-check their facts, however. While GM first announced plans to shutter the plant in 2008, the plant was not actually idled until 2009 (as reported here and noted here), and the shut-down schedule was faster than GM had initially announced. In 2008 GM said it would close the plant by 2010. What many of the “fact-checkers” missed is that an auto plant can produce more than one thing, so ending one production line need not lead to an actual plant closure. Conn Carroll has the rundown of the actual facts here. (More at Twitchy.)

Upon watching the coverage of the convention, that all these republican folks seem to be so proud of I couldn’t help but to notice an elaborate stage fully equipped with a debt clock and adorned with a sign that says "We built that." Of course that was a dig at our President and his statement that was taken out of context, and spun by the right-wing establishment, and thrown back in his face.
Very Charming. And another thing that I couldn’t help but notice was the crowd, it was a sea of white, except of course for a few token blacks scattered around. There were also no black speakers, again except for that Aunt Jemima Condi Rice who has become a Black Icon of the Republican party. I failed to see any no blacks anywhere else.
There's a good explanation for that of course, the purpose of the convention being to formally nominate Mitt Romney who currently enjoys ZERO percent of the black vote. That's right, zero percent. Nada, None.

6 Worst Lies In Paul Ryan’s Speech

By Aviva Shen on Aug 30, 2012 at 9:36 am

Vice presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) is taking flack on the morning news shows for his keynote address at the Republican National Convention Wednesday night. His speech was riddled with false claims, so much so that even Fox News wrote, “To anyone paying the slightest bit of attention to facts, Ryan’s speech was an apparent attempt to set the world record for the greatest number of blatant lies and misrepresentations slipped into a single political speech.”

Here are the most glaring lies from his speech:

1. “A downgraded America.” Ryan blamed the president for the nation’s credit downgrade in August 2011 after Republicans threatened to allow the government to default on its debt for the first time in history. But the ratings agency explicitly blamed “Republicans saying that they refuse to accept any tax increases as part of a larger deal.”

2. “More debt than any other president before him, and more than all the troubled governments of Europe combined.” Romney has made the almost identical claim, that Obama has amassed more debt “as almost all of the other presidents combined.” But their math doesn’t add up: when Obama took office, the national debt was $10.626 trillion. It has increased to slightly above $15 trillion.

3. Shuttered General Motors plant is “one more broken promise.” Ryan described a GM plant that closed down in his hometown, Janesville, Wisconsin, and blamed Obama for breaking his promise to keep the plant open when he visited during his campaign. But Obama never made that promise, and the plant shut down in December 2008, before Obama even took office.

4. Obama “did exactly nothing” on Bowles-Simpson. Ryan said, “He created a bipartisan debt commission. They came back with an urgent report. He thanked them, sent them on their way, and then did exactly nothing.” In fact, Ryan was instrumental in sabotaging the commission, leading the other House Republicans in voting against the plan.

5. “$716 billion, funneled out of Medicare by President Obama.” Ryan’s favorite lie is a deliberate distortion of Obamacare’s savings from eliminating inefficiencies. Furthermore, Ryan’s own plan for Medicare includes these savings. Romney has vowed to restore these cuts, which would render the trust fund insolvent 8 years ahead of schedule.

6. “The greatest of all responsibilities is that of the strong to protect the weak.” Ryan closed the speech with an invocation of social responsibility, saying, “The truest measure of any society is how it treats those who cannot defend or care for themselves.” However, numerous clergy members have condemned Ryan’s budget plan as “cruel,” and “an immoral disaster” because of its devastating cuts in social programs the poor and sick rely on. Meanwhile, Ryan would give ultra-rich individuals and corporations $3 trillion in tax breaks.

Hey dolt that's because MSNBC didn't show the other blsck speakers because they are racists. You really can't be that dumb. If you want to see a sea of brown people there will be plenty of Muslims at the DNC where you can get your fill.
Man you really are eeezeee, eeezeely brainwashed.

AOW, honestly? I saw the image at your place and don't get what the big deal is about. I don't look at it as a beheading thing, I look at it as a kind of interesting tableau, a juxtaposition of those behind Ryan and him, etc. I looked again now that you linked it here, thinking "Maybe you'll get it this time, Z" and I still don'T?

Did you like the speech tonight?

Rita, I felt hope tonight, too (if I can use that term that's been so prostituted the last 3 1/2 years!)

I just hope losing Ryan from the House Budget Commitee Chairmanship will be worth the humiliating defeat Romney is facing in November.
