Mickey Rooney

I didn't know Mickey Rooney died yesterday.  My gosh, what a huge star he was for so many years.
I couldn't NOT mention it here today because he was a huge presence in American film and so well loved for so many years.

And 9 children among 8 wives...imagine?

Rest in peace, Mr. Rooney.....and thanks for everything.

Mickey Rooney also served his country. Here is a good write-up of his military biography:

He'll be missed. The guy had staying power.

Thank God...if he was a muslim it would have been at least 46 kids like Osamma.

8 wives?

That explains his untimely death.

In 1944, Rooney enlisted in the United States Army. He served more than 21 months, until shortly after the end of World War II. During and after the war he helped entertain the troops in America and Europe, and spent part of the time as a radio personality on the American Forces Network and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for entertaining troops in combat zones. In addition to the Bronze Star Medal, Rooney also received the Army Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, and World War II Victory Medal for his military service.

How in the hell do you get a good conduct medal with only 21 months of service? How do you get a Bronze Star Medal for entertaining troops, when others had to give up their lives for one?

Damn. What a candy ass country we've become.

I heard about his death this morning.

I loved the character he played as Andy Hardy, so adorable!

He also played the voice of Santa Claus in those cute puppet Christmas shows. I still love them and watch them to this day.

God rest his soul.
