I haven't seen ATLAS SHRUGGED yet, it came to L.A. on Friday, but I know people who have seen it and they really liked it.
Jon Stewart's already slamming it, so you know the message is feared and the word is out to kill the film in the box office though it did $1.7 million the first weekend with practically no promotion at all.
From THIS SITE: "Atlas Shrugged pulled in $1.7 million at the box office this weekend — all by itself, without a shred of help from anyone, just to make itself happy! So self-reliant! The critically panned adaptation of Ayn Rand's 1957 objectivist bible was made for around $10 million, and producers say the film's draw, in 80 cities on around 300 screens, was "at the upper edge" of their expectations. They're hoping to expand the release to 1,000 screens."
Please see it if you can. The message is a good one and we need to support films like this

I saw it. It's been years since I read it, but it seems to be following the book well. If it makes sense, liberals will not like it.
PS--Don't pay w/ your debit card or the camera behind the popcorn counter will snap a picture of you.
Ducky's slamming it too. That should get you all out to the theater next week.
Of course, you can always slip a copy of that great camp fun fest, "The Fountainhead" in the player. Talk about a guilty pleasure, great fun.
Go see it and tell your politicians not build high speed rails, lol!
LA...good point about the popcorn machine...
Ducky and bd...scares you, huh?
high speed rails makes sense, bd, if ANYBODY would ride it. Ayn Rand wasn't for stupidity. Amtrak's a failure. thanks
It's been years since I read it too. This is one movie I'm looking forward to seeing.
And what better time in our country for people to have food for thought about America, than right now, while the left is trying to destroy her.
Amtrak's failure? The Northeast corridor is quite successful and it's profitable.

Glad to hear it, Ducky.
Rand understood that people are the means of production.
Like Marx its all about how many people you own.
Nanette and I watched the movie, and it was an AMAZING adaptation!
It's not very often that a movie is GOOD after reading the book, Atlas Shrugged is the exception.
Jingo, thanks, my sis and her hubby loved it, too. I'm going to go soon.
So good to have you here!
