Bin Laden.....why most were so pleased

We were hit on 9/11 with unimaginable cruelty and violence.   We lost 3000 innocent people.  We were grieving for those who lost loved ones and we grieved for people we had never met.  We were certain our whole country's economy would suffer in ways we couldn't know yet.   We were devastated.

And we had nowhere to hit back......until we killed Osama bin Laden, mastermind of the most heinous attacks this country had ever experienced on her own shores.
OSAMA BIN LADEN WAS THE FIGUREHEAD OF TERRORISM.   WE COULD NOT HIT A COUNTRY BECAUSE ISLAMIST TERRORISM IS NOT LIKE HITLER WAS TO GERMANY OR MUSSOLINI WAS TO ITALY OR HIROHITO WAS TO JAPAN......WE HAD NO COUNTRY TO HIT.......FINALLY, WE GOT HIM.......  And a lot of us felt good about it.

THIS is why Americans who would otherwise never rejoice over death did rejoice.....People are complaining that Americans rejoiced over a death, have you heard and read these complaints, some of which are coming from the same Muslims who rejoiced after 9/11!?

We couldn't hit an army, we couldn't attack a city........But we could GET BIN LADEN.  And we did.   And that's why we rejoice.  And we deserve to.

as an aside here, can you believe that BUSH PRAISED OBAMA ON BIN LADEN DEATH is back on the Yahoo homepage?
Remember, some of you read my comment on the post below..I think it was there?
It's absolutely a riot! Apparently the left does think Bush complimenting Obama is helpful to Obama! WHO KNEW? ! :-)

What about Iraq and Afghanistan?

The thing that many forget is that you didn't just rejoice at the killing of some unknown fellow, it wasn't just a death. It was the killing of a mass murderer. Rejoicing over that is very different from rejoicing over the death of just some random person or innocent person.

MK's point is well taken. The death of OBL was the death of a mass murderer!

Ducky, "oh, GEE, Ducky! I didn't think of that" :-)

(sorry, you know how I always love to laugh at what you seem to hope are educational, EUREKA! moments)!!

Did we BOMB those countries like we did Germany and Japan? REALLY? Have you ever seen Dresden or Hiroshima, Ducky?

MK...Sure, but I do think there was something about him representing so much more than just one person.

I strongly disagree....we know where the mutts are from...we know what "countries" are responsible. And it's nonsense to suggest that these militant, terrorist pieces of shit are without borders or a "country's" sanction.

It's Islam...period. Do you actually believe that Iran, Yemen or Saudi Arabia isn't involved in this?

Get real....it's time to place the GD crosshairs where they belong. So..gas might be 6 a gallon for the short term.

I'm willing to pay...for the demise and the elimination of OPEC and every one of these ass backwards fiefdoms of insanity and terrorism in one..ONE fell swoop.

Or...are we willing to sacrifice in order to insure that this country will survive?

Lately...I'm happy to see USA..USA! I'm happy to see that many Americans have a renewed pride in their flag and country.

And in a way...we'll no longer will tolerate this bullshit from these islamist shits...anymore. These assholes...have pushed all the WRONG buttons.

Well, I disagree but I respect your opinions!
All I'm saying is, there is no ISLAMIA ....... do you guys want to carpet bomb Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, the Philippines, Indonesia, much of Michigan, Albania, Serbia.........because there are muslims living there and they all must die?
My point is that bin Laden represented Hiroshima and Dresden in this way .... WE GOT HIM!

I think my hypothesis stands but I'm going out to dinner so you can tear it apart! Enjoy! I'll be back later. xx

I've been gone a while. It is good to see that not much has changed here. I'm one of those that still isn't real sure about the date or cause of death. It was a great relief to hear that he was officially dead.

God Bless America, God Save The Republic.

It's the liberal mindset that "If you disagree, you're wrong"...or racist, or stupid, or simply must STOP.
It's why they can't bring themselves to watch Beck; it's so scary and so confirming of the COnservative complaints that they can't absorb it somehow.
maybe it really IS a 'mental disorder'! :-)

Hi, Bob...thanks for that article (AOW, did you read that?)
I'm SO computer-challenged that all I want to know is CAN MY BLOG BE SAVED SOMEWHERE LIKE YOU CAN WITH FILES ....THEY ADVERTISE SOME PLACE WHERE YOUR DOCS GET SAVED SOMEWHERE IF YOUR COMPUTER BREAKS DOWN.
CAN MY WHOLE BLOG BE SAVED SOMEWHERE AUTOMATICALLY OR BY ME SAVING AS I GO?
See how much I don't know? :-)

Do you all have that doc-saving thing? I think it's around $50 a year? Seems worth it to me.
I'd really be unhappy if what happened to Beamish happened to GeeeZ or ANY of your blogs...
THAT is demoralizing when you've put so much into your work...

I just look at al-Qaeda's documented and announced goals and compare them to that place that leftists hate looking at called reality:

1.) To drive U.S. forces out of the Arabian Peninsula and Arab lands, and "liberate" the holy places of Mecca and Medina.

Reality: The US retains its military presence in the Arab world, with air basing and port of calls in the UAE, Quatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and five new strategic airbases in Iraq. Instead of a reduction / elimination of the American presence in the region, that presence has increased. Mecca and Medina remain under the stewardship of the Saudis.

2.) To overthrow the Saudi government and the other autocratic dynasties of the Persian Gulf region, along with other secular and pro-Western regimes of the Middle East.

Reality: The same Arab governments outlined in al-Qaeda's fatwas to overthrow them remain in power. Popular uprisings currently raging in the Islamic world are seeking Western-style democratic reforms, not Sharia law.

3) To reestablish the Caliphate, the empire of Islam’s early golden age ruled by Sharia law, and thereby empower a formidable array of (Sunni) Islamic states with Baghdad as its capital to wage war on the United States and its allies.

Reality: Saddam Hussein's dictatorship in Iraq is gone, replaced by a democratic government dominated by Shia leaders. Syria has withdrawn from Lebanon and the Iranian-backed Hezbollah terrorists have been seriously diminished there.Regimes in Tunisia and Egypt have been sent packing by popular uprisings, and in there places have come a broad, primarily secular coalition of interests seeking democracy, not Sharia law. Even anti-Western regimes in Libya and Syria are now faced with rebellions seeking democratic reforms, not Sharia law. Baghdad, Iraq is no closer to becoming al-Qaeda's fantasy capital of a Sunni Islamic superstate than Little Rock, Arkansas is.

Osama bin Laden's death at the hands of an American special operations strike team as he hid from jihad in a Pakistani mansion in his dirty underwear is quite a symbol, a neon sign flashing "epic fail" atop the reality of al-Qaeda's unmet goals.

In summary, "O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave, o'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave."

Play ball!

Ms. Z...I think what you're referring to is called "cloud computing".

I won't get into the nuts and bolts ( just Google it for yourself ) however Google just really screwed up that cloud when the blogging went down.

Cloud is the future and Google is offering a a new PC that's supposed to be a "Windows killer". And anything that kills windows makes me happy!!!

But,( cloud ) obviously....it's not all that dependable yet!

"do you guys want to carpet bomb Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, the Philippines, Indonesia, much of Michigan, Albania, Serbia........."

So far...in all the places you mention are and have been and always will be associated with terrorism. Yes...even Dearborn. ( And why we allow them to even exist on our soil as our declared enemy should be a question everyone might ask...Pete King tried and look what happened.)

Maybe not all of Michigan yet but between Detroit and Dearborn...take your pick.

Just how do you think we won WW2 Ms.Z?
By being PC, sensitive or avoiding at all costs "civilians"?

We didn't then...so why now? After 10 years in the Afghan sewer, how many needless deaths have we suffered because our troops were ordered not to engage or fire back?

Cause there were "civilians"....wars are not won by being nice. Wars are won by being more aggressive, savage and brutal than your enemy. War is not fun nor enjoyable Ms. Z....especially to our soldiers. I know they'd rather be home sucking down a Bud and playing with their kids.

You, ironically, mentioned Hiroshima and Dresden. Why? Those two are perfect examples of "carpet" bombing.

Dresden had no significant military value...nor did Hiroshima. They were operations that demoralized and demonstrated our ability to extend power and destruction over our enemies, period.

How about the muslims disregard for those real civilians on 911? See...this is why war is an instrument of revenge.

With muslims...there are no civilians. Just more aiders and abetters and baby manufacturers of future suicide bombers and nuts.

So yes....I suggest carpet bombing. They sure as hell aren't going to love us more if we didn't. And that should be obvious by now.

Z said...

Major, there seems to me to be a difference in our not being able to shoot back at mosques, for example, and our carpet bombing Kandahar, for example.
OUR IDIOT POLITICAL CORRECT military 'leaders' told our soldiers "gee, that's a mosque, so don't shoot at it"..meantime, the heathens are inside mosques shooting AT OUR GUYS. DId the "leader" idiots catch on? NO, they'd rather lose OUR KIDS than appear politically correct.

We could fight and kill enemies but no, we're hog tied, PC'd into NOT doing so.......we wouldn't have to carpet bomb every single muslim if we could fight our enemies, the Taliban, other nuts, HARD enough.

As it is, maybe we'll have to; you're right, they can't hate us more.

Maybe you haven't read me here various times, but I have said that: Let's get a whole city and see how they like it...maybe THEN their people will say "This has to STOP" I'm not sure.

Major, I've always "got it"....I'm 1987234987234987% behind our service men (I don't include women because I'm a hard-ass (sorry, but..) when it comes to not having women in combat)

"I'd love to see the state department surrounded by thousands of pissed off Marines, who won't allow them to go home to Chevy Chase and their pinot grigio's and Brie."

ME, too.

Cloud is the future, true, but Microsoft is pioneering cloud computing right alongside all the other contenders.

Microsoft will continue to do what it has always done - provide a reliable operating system for computing to its customer base, particularly the 90%+ of businesses who need computers to function and thus rely on PCs for workstations and Apples for music players. Springed hinges have pretty much pushed Apple out of the doorstop market, which is sad, as Macs are very reliable doorstops.

;)

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

In fact, I'd go so far as to say that someone who buys their kid an Apple computer ought to be criticized for failing to prepare their children to work in a professional world.

I think it's fitting that Apple name their operating systems after felines.

Cakewalk has changed Apple's domination in the area of music. I have used Cakewalk products and software in my studio since the 80's. PC's and Cakewalk is now becoming the music and MIDI standard in most music studios.

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

Cakewalk is awesome for MIDI music, but ProTools is where it's at.

Just like the Ford vs Chevy debates.

I've tried both and prefer Cakewalk. They both have their pros and cons.
