Sunday Faith Blog

TO ISRAEL during this crucial period:

A song of ascents. Of David.
 1 If the LORD had not been on our side—
   let Israel say—
2 if the LORD had not been on our side
   when people attacked us,
3 they would have swallowed us alive
   when their anger flared against us;

4 the flood would have engulfed us,
   the torrent would have swept over us,
5 the raging waters
   would have swept us away.

 6 Praise be to the LORD,
   who has not let us be torn by their teeth.
7 We have escaped like a bird
   from the fowler’s snare;
the snare has been broken,
   and we have escaped.
8 Our help is in the name of the LORD,
   the Maker of heaven and earth. ...Psalm 124

"For it is he who is our peace. Through his mortality he made both groups one by tearing down the wall of hostility that divided them." Ephesians 2:14.

God, continue to protect Israel and may they come to know peace, the greatest peace of all.

Amen.

Amen! If words escape you but you need to pray, nothing beats The Psalms.

BB! I, and most Christians who read the Bible from time to time, knew that Saturday would be the safest day because it is clearly said that anybody guessing the last day is wrong just by virtue of having picked one! :-) Pastor today started his sermon with "I didn't have to write a sermon for today but figured I'd use Plan B and do one anyway!" just to get a laugh!

Bob...i love how it fits Israel and what's going on there now and in D.C. Maybe I should be more direct but there's a LOT MORE I could say about Jews in Israel and what's going on now and I know it's not my place and the last thing I want to do is offend with too much....I figured this was subtle enough.

SF...you bet...GREAT solace and great 'instant prayer' there, you're so right and I'm glad you mentioned that.

I will always support Israel and its right to exist and defend itself fully. It is surrounded on three sides by its complete and utter ENEMIES, and fully HALF of the Palestinian "government" is comprised of Hamas, whose charter calls for the extermination of Israel and Jews.

I will NEVER support Moonbats such as Harold Camping, who is sufficiently arrogant to think that he knows about or is somehow a prophet of God. He exists solely to fleece the elderly and the gullible.

"As Saturday drew nearer, followers reported that donations grew, allowing Family Radio to spend millions on more than 5,000 billboards and 20 RVs plastered with the doomsday message. In 2009, the nonprofit reported in IRS filings that it received $18.3 million in donations, and had assets of more than $104 million, including $34 million in stocks or other publicly traded securities."

BZ, Pastor today asked "Why gather that much money if the world's ending tomorrow?" :-)

How good people can be pulled into this way of thinking is NUTS.
But, look at good Americans...when you don't really understand the Bible or understand America, you get loons and leftists :-) (heh)

8 Our help is in the name of the LORD,

To which I will add:

“It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God...” — Hebrews 10:31

Period.

Great post, Z.
