Obama and Bush: Language is revealing

George W. Bush speech after capture of Saddam:
The success of yesterday's mission is a tribute to our men and women now serving in Iraq .
The operation was based on the superb work of intelligence analysts who found the
dictator's footprints in a vast country. The operation was carried out with skill and precision by
a brave fighting force. Our servicemen and women and our coalition allies have faced many
dangers in the hunt for members of the fallen regime, and in their effort to bring hope and
freedom to the Iraqi people. Their work continues, and so do the risks. Today, on behalf of the
nation, I thank the members of our Armed Forces and I congratulate 'em.

Barack Obama speech after killing of bin Laden:
And so shortly after taking office, I directed Leon Panetta, the director of the CIA, to make the
killing or capture of bin Laden the top priority of our war against al Qaeda, even as we continued
our broader efforts to disrupt, dismantle, and defeat his network.

Then, last August, after years of painstaking work by our intelligence community, I was briefed on
a possible lead to bin Laden. It was far from certain, and it took many months to run this thread
to ground. I met repeatedly with my national security team as we developed more information
about the possibility that we had located bin Laden hiding within a compound deep inside of
Pakistan. And finally, last week, I determined that we had enough intelligence to take action, and
I authorized an operation to get Osama bin Laden and bring him to justice. Today, at my direction,
the United States launched a targeted operation against that compound in Abbottabad , Pakistan.

Bush's reaction to Obama killing Osama is one of a petulant child who stayed away from ground zero after he was invited.

And Clinton stayed away after he was invited because of "scheduling conflicts" (i.e. he had better things to do)

How many times must Obama "spike the football?"

Why did Obama need to go to ground zero after bin Laden was killed?

It was a campaign stop. Admit it.

The difference between the two Presidents is obvious. President Bush is a serious man with much success & many accomplishments who KNOWS the value of those who do the actual work. That is true leadership.

President Obama has no real, actual achievements or accomplishments. His resume is impressive, until you dig a little deeper and see the truth. Everything on that resume is of little or no consequence and anything that is of consequence was NOT earned by Obama, it was given to him.

Therefore, President Obama doesn't know the value of those who do the actual work. He is an insecure man whose self-aggrandizement is pitiful. Hard to believe someone who has been bestowed with the highest political honor on the planet, doesn't know he possesses "the brass ring."

Todd "Let's Roll" Beamer's father was troubled by to much of President Obama's use of the singular possessive. Most disappointing.

In spite of this President's shortcomings, I remain proud and grateful to him for giving the kill order on bin Laden, regardless of his motivation. The end result is what matters, the monster is dead!

BD, I'm almost starting to feel more and more sorry for America as I read more and more of your comments.

PLEASE look into Katrina more; you will be stunned.
Please look into Obama's reaction after the oil spill (contrast and compare..)

"Americans" know what? Do you know they also KNOW that CLinton let Osama go when they had him in the crossfire? No American KNOWS Bush let him go, believe me. No American who doesn't read KOS anyway.

DOn't look now, but Bush would have been cheered to the rafters if he'd gone; see, this is the difference; he doesn't NEED adulation; this isn't about popularity and ego to him, it was about keeping America safe, and he did.

I don't know who's on MSNBC right now, but try to remind yourself that's not NEWS, okay? :-0

FW, I don't blame Mr. Beamer....all of us hear "I" "I" "I" and we simply think "Wait, this is the president, they don't do that!" None has before.
And I don't believe a president has implied Republicans are ridiculous and stupid as Obama did in El Paso yesterday. He lied most of the time, too "the fence is BUILT"? Um...5% is.
The Republicans want a moat with alligators in it....'they keep moving the goal post'.

My GOD, I think he MIGHT have turned TX against him because any thinking Texan knows that's all wrong, their senators don't agree with Obama, and THEY WANT THEIR STATE SAFE. and it isn't.

yet, he thinks if he says it, people believe it.
Thank GOD for Conservative venues who tell both sides. If it happens to shine light on an obvious Obama lie, of course, it's BIAS AGAINST OBAMA!
Well, how does one fight THAT?!

:-)

I think President Obama should keep it up, Z. Every time he goes off on one of his smarmy rants, the truth is revealed to the American people: the President has no respect for our country or any of us. He thinks we're idiots who will accept every one of his lies as gospel. He doesn't know a damn thing about the citizens of this nation, nor does he want to. Keep it up, Barack! You're making it that much easier to defeat your lying ass at the polls! He's so outta there!

Z said...

Ducky, I wouldn't go there were I you! Check out PElosi's GLOWING excitement for Obama having caught Osama when she said it wouldn't make any difference at all only a few years ago...

Bush was right. Just as he was right with MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. That particular mission had been accomplished...and, very obviously, catching Osama had to go on a back burner when considering war.

By the way, I Googled your Bush quote a few times and there isn't anything to read, no reference, no source ....can you supply that? thanks.

Z said...

FW, if Texans heard his bashing the Republicans AND the lies HE said yesterday in El Paso, even the Hispanics might revolt.
He said the fence is there (it's 5% there), he said they're safe (all there know they are NOT safe)..he says the Republicans are moving the goal post on him and think moats with alligators should be installed...

I don't believe even Hispanics who love their homes in America are too happy with all of that bunk...meanwhile, they're seeing TX senators objecting and BRINGING OUT THE TRUTH.
Obama's forgotten that he can't lie while president, he needs to get out of campaign mode or he could very well LOSE.
I was surprised yesterday.......so many people know he's wrong he should have known we have a Conservative media strong enough, and listened enough to, to expose him now.

Z said...

By the way, before I leave for a few hours (Elbro's watching the blog and will be deleting as needed), I wanted to stress the point of this post is not to argue Bin Laden or anything else....
the very clear point was the language...Bush's humility, giving credit to the ones really doing the heavy lifting, and Obama's constant "I" "I did this, I did that"...
something that is, I think, unprecedented this often in a sitting president and something maybe the left actually doesn't notice because they can't see his faults or even that difference in integrity and humility?
I don't know...but that might be it. I hope not.

Ducky, I'm so glad I found your quote you commented with on a very leftwing site...: It took a while of Googling different parts of that phrase until I found this, so, clearly, thinking people see it in context and didn't find it worth quoting, to their credit:

Here's the 'always fair and balanced lefty take!!!':

"For your amusement and future reference, here's what Bush has said about bin Laden at various points in time, depending on how he was trying to spin things:

"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him."
- G.W. Bush, 9/13/01

"I want justice...There's an old poster out West, as I recall, that said, 'Wanted: Dead or Alive,'"
- G.W. Bush, 9/17/01, UPI

"...Secondly, he is not escaping us. This is a guy, who, three months ago, was in control of a county [sic]. Now he's maybe in control of a cave. He's on the run. Listen, a while ago I said to the American people, our objective is more than bin Laden. But one of the things for certain is we're going to get him running and keep him running, and bring him to justice. And that's what's happening. He's on the run, if he's running at all. So we don't know whether he's in cave with the door shut, or a cave with the door open -- we just don't know...."
- Bush, in remarks in a Press Availablity with the Press Travel Pool,
The Prairie Chapel Ranch, Crawford TX, 12/28/01, as reported on
official White House site

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
- G.W. Bush, 3/13/02

"I am truly not that concerned about him."
- G.W. Bush, repsonding to a question about bin Laden's whereabouts,
3/13/02 (The New American, 4/8/02)

Z: Fabulous. Good on Bush. For the rallying of Americans to come together against that HORRID ENEMY Osama, Bush did exactly the right thing.

Then, things changed and we had a despot to bring down, we had other problems in the country, we had homegrown and imported terrorists he had to worry about... he was right: he had MUCH bigger fish to fry than finding a creep in a cave and he said so.
I give him so much credit and thank you for bringing this to our attention....good stuff.

I just saw this quote from an Obama fan:

"I was happy about bin Laden," says Brenda Veckov, 42, of Hollidaysburg, Pa. "I put my fists in the air. To me, it was just a little bit of closure for the United States."

"The president made the right decisions on this one. And I will vote for him again."

She's voting for him because he wanted to kill bin Laden (or his SEALS did)...i'd like a list of people who didn't want bin Laden dead. THIS is the kind of reasoning Obama voters display. YIKES

The funny part BD is that it's Obama who is carrying Bush's water. He's continuned most of the Bush policies (with the exception perhaps of the enhanced interrogation techniques) that he's benefited from.

So the real losers here are the liberals/leftist who thought Obama was gonna close Gitmo..blah blah blah.

It's the country that's won because Bin Laden is gone, not Obama.

Beamish is right. President Obama's first visit to ground zero was this one, and it was a political campaign stop. A grand photo op and an opportunity to score points.

He wasn't there last Sept.11th, nor was he in 2009. Why not? Nothing to gain I guess.

President Bush was wise to decline Obama's invitation. He has been invited to attend the ten year ceremony September 11th of this year, and has accepted that invitation.

That one will be a somber remembrance of those who died that awful day, not an inappropriate celebration of President Obama.

Having a political campaign celebration at the site of a tragedy where 3000 innocent people were killed, sullies that place and cheapens it.

It is a gravesite, and we should never forget that.

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

Man, you guys are carrying all kinds of water these days, lol!

Really?

What's the big deal about giving credit where credit is due?

Bush's threat of invasion of Iraq in 2003 had Iraqi intelligence officials surrendering before the first bomb was dropped. These officials included Khalid Sheikh Muhammad's contacts in the Iraqi Mukhabarat - which supplied his location in Pakistan. KSM got rolled up, as did many other Baluchi terrorists in al-Qaeda's operational leadership hierarchy.

Bush's authorization for the CIA to employ enhanced interrogation techniques at Guantanamo and other less well known prisons around the world have netted more intel and information on other al-Qaeda leaders, which has led to their capture and / or killing, particularly by Hellfire missile fired by Predator drone, both under Bush and under Obama, in Yemen, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.

The path to getting bin Laden and other al Qaeda leaders over the last 9 and a half years are via initiatives started by Bush and continued by Obama.

Many of the tactics employed in gathering the intel to locate bin Laden specifically were tactics Obama and other Democrats criticized the Bush administration for employing.

Obama should be given credit for revealing that all of his 2008 campaign posturing was bullshit and sticking to the strategy and tactics to fight al-Qaeda developed by Dick Cheney's brainchild, the Joint Special Operations Command.

Without JSOC, which the left used to paint in sinister terms as "Cheney's assassination squad," the Obama administration would still be looking for Osama bin Laden and paying imposters millions of dollars because they pretended to represent the Taliban.

Yay. Obama gave the order to take out bin Laden the fifth time he's popped up in the crosshairs (Bill Clinton balked at the other four).

Practice makes perfect, I guess. Without Bush and Cheney's groundwork and foundational efforts, Obama's efforts to get Osama would have had no giant shoulders to stand on.

I don't think you can look at the scores of al-Qaeda leaders and operational commanders captured and killed around the world under the Bush administration and conclude that Bush gave Obama nothing to work with in regards to bagging Osama bin Laden.

Unless you're a complete idiot. Or a leftist. (forgive the redundancy)

Beamish....we're told by the Sec. service that CLinton was too busy playing or watching golf and couldn't respond in time for us to have got bin Laden years ago.
But, it's like the economoy; people will always like forget that Clinton goofed and nobody corrects anybody when it's even hinted that he might not be a saint.

All you great ladies, thanks for your comments: as you know, I couldn't agree with any of you more. xx

Z:

The comments are interesting in that you have a couple of liberals that are typical in their approach. They make things up as they go along.

There seems to be some concern that George Bush didn't care about getting UBL. If you want to put statements into context, Bin Laden had been marginalized, and had dropped down the threat list after Bush's victory in Afghanistan. We still aren't sure whether he had any modern day influence in the several, more powerful and significant Al Queda groups (Arabian Penninsula, Africa).

The priority shifted to Iraq for a number of reasons. First, Iraq was a threat to the USA as expressed by none other than Putin and other world figures.

Additionally, top Al Queda figures fled Afghanistan to Iraq, fomenting the second phase of the Iraq war.

It was simply more important to kill Al Queda in Iraq because that's where Al Queda wanted to base their world wide operations after Afghanistan. Tthey saw their chance with the cut and run Democrats running Congress.

Remember, the Democrat leaders in Congress were denying even the existence of a Global War On Terror like ostriches with their little heads in the sand.

You cannot compare a pretend man like Barack Obama with a real man like George W Bush. G W is a man with some serious accomplishments in his life. He undoubtedly had help from his family, but so the Donald Trump and Ted Turner. These men took what they had, worked hard, and conquered their worlds.

G W Bush is an honorable man, and I know of no instance where he knowingly delivered information with the intent to deceive. Honor and integrity are important, but tend to be just campaign words for Obama.

Barack Obama is all about deception, and personal aggrandizement. The Democrat Party is all about corruption, and has institutionalized corruption in the way they do business. Barack represents his Party well.

We must not allow the corrupt Democrats to demean the reputation of a good man.

Bd said...

Bob, You guys are a bunch of sore losers and revisionists. Bush let Osama go, he failed. Obama got Osama. He went to ground zero, he made no speeches, he met privately with families. Stop being children and making crap up.

So let's summarize: The Dems are better on National Security and no GOP President has ever balanced the budget in the past 75 years.

Z said...

Well, Bob, the leftists have demeaned the country, so .... they couldn't recognize a good man when we had one and now this man Obama who's lied so many times, belittled citizens like Joe the Plumber, taken us into insurmountable debt and position of appeasement around the world is the left's hero.
What did Obama say in El Paso, for example? That the fence was built...? 5% was.
But, Americans hear him and believe him....

Thanks for your comments; it's good to read the left, however, in my opinion; it's shows how UNFAIR AND UNBALANCED news affects people. That they don't ask questions is a curiosity and a shame.

Flash back to Katrina and the Democratic mayor of New Orleans and the Democratic Governor and Senator standing around pissing their pants and expecting the federal government to take care of them.

I have no problem giving credit where credit is due. Had this operation gone very bad, which they sometimes do –as this one very nearly did— then Obama’s head would be on the political block. It did not go awry, so we credit Obama for having made what some refer to as “a gutsy call.”

At the same time, Obama did not “get Osama.” Seal Team 6 did that —with the support of hundreds of experts in operations, training, intelligence, aviation, and other support personnel. It was a team effort.

Obama’s part was to make the final decision. Sixteen hours to decide go/no go demonstrates that you will not find leadership part of Obama’s skill set.

Has anyone mentioned to BD lately that Bush hasn't been president for almost 3 years? He appears to be stuck on stupid.

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

So let's summarize: The Dems are better on National Security...

Sure. That is if you don't count the 16 Islamic terrorist attacks targeting Americans during the Clinton years, the direct equipping of North Korea with nuclear weapons production capabilities (also during the Clinton years), the espionage efforts of Aldrich Ames at Clinton's CIA and Robert Hanssen at Clinton's FBI, the four Islamic terrorist attacks on American soil since Obama became President, the scuttling of national missile defense under Obama in favor of patting down infants in diapers at the airport and Russian occupation forces in Georgia, thousands of diplomatic cables leaked on the internet by a fag that hasn't even been in the Army long enough to get a serious security clearance (Wikileaks), and tying American energy dependence to windmills and Chinese oil companies in Brazil.

American national security is better because public debt has topped 90% of our annual GDP, net under-employment / unemployment has broken 20%, the dollar is so weak as a global reserve currency that fuel prices are skyrocketing and food riots are turning west Africa, North Africa, and the Middle East into atrocity zones, and Obama sent the SEALs to smoke Osama bin Laden in a secluded three-story building?

Quite a silly definition of "national security." We can't even bribe people to be nice around the world because the dollar is a joke.

I do so wish you leftists would make up your mind whether or not Islamic terrorism was a threat before Osama bin Laden died.

Seriously, Bd, if you want to engage in respectful, honest debate, give us a show that you're not acting in bad faith. Admit, without caveat, that you're a blithering idiot.

and no GOP President has ever balanced the budget in the past 75 years.

Presidents don't balance the budget. Congress does. (Did any of you dipshit leftists get out of 7th grade civics class with a passing grade?)

No Democrat-controlled Congress has ever presented a balanced budget to the President in over 40 years.

Seriously Bd, you're not even a challenge to refute. Surely you can try harder.
