John Wayne.....He could be saying this today.....

It's astonishing that Mr. John Wayne was THIS right about the Leftwingers in America.......which he thought he was part of until he woke up.   He gives good reason for his awareness that he certainly wasn't a Lefty and could never be a Lefty and didn't admire the Left, either.

I wish we had more men like John Wayne.
KUDOS GO TO MR. AOW for finding this!  Mr. AOW is a new blogger and you will enjoy his site; go over and say "hello!" (Thanks, Mr. AOW)

He was a smart man. How many Hollyweird actors could so easily today explore concepts like human dignity and human nature and employ them to analyze what's going on around them?

Ducky's here said...

As much as I like his work with John Ford, especially Stagecoach, the Ringo Kid is safety part of the culture, Sean Penn is by far the better actor. And the better man.

Anonymous said...

It was very good. Very clear and simple. Again shows a great mind.

Z said...

SF....he was very smart and a good actor, but I didn't know he was as grounded about human dignity as he was. Here, he was like a fortune teller.

Ducky, nobody's talking about acting here, of course, ...
And no, he was obviously a MUCH better man that Sean Penn.

FB...fabulous; far more wise than I'd thought before.

Z said...

Ducky, I think we'd all be real grateful, by the way, if you could tell us your backup for the statement that Sean Penn is a 'better man' than John Wayne.
I'd like to hear that.

Z said...

Everybody; did you all know John Wayne had a crystal ball that worked so well? I was amazed at his grasp of the truth of liberals, how it hit him and how fast it took him to recover!

Anonymous said...

He's a better man because he's friend with Chavez and Wayne couldn't be.

Even comparing acting across generations is a mistake. Acting evolves and changes.

Z said...

FB; Wayne wouldn't have been if he could.

You know the cliche "A conservative is a liberal who has been mugged by reality".

Kind of a timely quote considering what is going on with the OWS idiots.

As to Sean Penn, sigh. My image of him will always be of him bailing out the small boat in Hurricane Katrina.

Then there's the hero worship of Hugo Chavez.

Ducky you have your heroes, I'll stick with John Wayne.

Sean Penn isn't worth the sh*t on the bottom of the Duke's boots.

I was never a big John Wayne movie fan, but I have more respect for him as an American than I do Sean Penn.

z, Sean Penn has worked for causes.
Right now he's been active in Haiti when everyone else has forgotten the place.

Wayne was pretty much just a spokesman for jingoism and a spokesman for manifest destiny, the war in Vietnam and other travesties.

Penn has tried to use his mind in both his films and his personal life.
He has been a successful producer.

Wayne without Ford was a cipher.

John Wayne talking about socialism and Keynesian economics in the 70s? Rather astounding. And Sean Penn being a "great actor"? Perhaps, if you were stuck in the 80s with Spiccoli in "Fast Times At Ridgemont High." Although I did enjoy the 1988 film "Colors," but mostly because of Robert Duvall.

In our house, we love "the Duke".

The thing is today, if Hollywood tried to remake "The Quiet Man", "The Searchers", or "The Cowboys", it wouldn't fly.

Sean Penn could have played Jeffrey Hunter's part in The Searchers, but Wayne's? No way!

John Wayne was a real man, and it came through in his performances. You could see it and feel it, and he knew better than anyone, what genre of movie suited him best.

Two of his children have written books about him. No nasty tell all, they loved him, and he loved them, so to say Penn is a better man, how so?

The fact Wayne loved America gives him a head start in my book!

Listening to this audio, to me, it's clear he came to the only conclusion anyone who's paying attention to human behavior, could come to.

Clarity of thought is a rare thing these days what with pc dictating thought and expression of thought. Pc doesn't include human dignity, it kills it.

I love this post Z, and I still love "The Duke".

Ducky,
Of all the stupid things you have said, this tops them all. Sean Penn is not a man, he is a human turd.

By causes do you mean things like UNICEF? Let me tell you, as someone who has been in Africa and actually seen what these wonderful liberal causes do. They bring in untold amounts of money well intentioned people. The leaders(mostly drug dealers and human traffickers) of the counties take most of money and use it for themselves. Then they send their henchmen out to steal most of the food and supplies and sale them on the black market. It's pretty common to go to a shop and kind relief food for sale at a high price.

These celebrities like Cloney show up for a few photo opps and live like kings in their private trailers while the people around them starve.

You have you head so far up your rear you think snow is black and the sky is red. Do us all a favor and migrate to Canada. On second thought, Canada has done nothing to deserve it

Psssssst....Prisc....ummmm Penn played....Milk...ya know? So..he must be a better "man" cause the "guy" he played...wasn't one! Politics....it's all about politics and PC. Penn...and I'll give it to him...has done some good flics. But he needs to STFU about politics. But I won't pay for a ticket to see him. That's what happens when these dopes open their mouths and people find out what kind of idiots they truly are in real life.
They alienate more than 1/2 of the country..( Dixie Chicks...Sarandon...Robbins, etc )

Sorry Impertinent, all you have to do is check the record.

Wayne gave several lengthy interviews and nothing he said would allow him to be seen as anything but an extreme conservative.

The trick is still alive today with folks like David Mamet who will say something like, "I used to be liberal until I started listening to (N)ational (P)alestinian (R)adio. Right, nothing remotely left of center in his background and likewise with Wayne.
Wayne was a notorious mean chronic drunk and a womanizer. Thar was his record. Penn's is more substantial.

Penn is more substantial if vain morality is a virtue.

North Korea is the best country to welcome Ducky. It's in line with his philosophy.

Not sure they allow iPods there, though.

"extreme conservative"

Translation- Extreme patriot and proud of his country.

Extreme leftist - Ducky...hates his countrymen and believes all patriots are toothless red necks and crackers.

Didn't take long for the crew to go ad hominem.

May I have an example of some illustrative act from Wayne's life?

Hell, Sgt. Stryker didn't even serve in WW II.

The king of red herrings and strawmen wants proof? That's a hoot.

Never heard of the John Wayne Cancer Institute?

elmers brother said...

He only gave away the bulk of his fortune. He also contributed a lot of his time to relief efforts for hunger & so forth in developing countries. But, he never allowed his publicity people to make that part of his public image -he did it out of genuine concern not for media attention. John Wayne was personally very generous -he knew he was lucky to have the career he did & gave away money and assistance to family and friends. He set up funds to pay for several of his friends childrens' education. John Wayne fought very hard against the institutional racism of Hollywood during his lifetime . In real life, John Wayne was a lot like the characters he portrayed on the screen.

elmers brother said...

John Wayne Enterprises was formed in 1979 prior to The Duke’s passing, giving his family the rights to his name, image, and likeness.

This is where the John Wayne Cancer Foundation, John Wayne Cancer Institute, and athletic fundraising program Team Duke come into play. John Wayne succumbed to cancer in 1979 after he’d beat it once. As his health failed, he pulled his family together and said to take his name and do something to help doctors fight for a cure for cancer.

Today, the John Wayne Cancer Foundation is funded by public donations as well as the licensing arm of John Wayne Enterprises and is further supported by the fundraising efforts of Team Duke.
Ethan Wayne said the company’s philanthropic enterprises have been successful because, like John Wayne, they get people engaged in something positive.

FrogBurger, Peter Schiff ROCKS..always ..thanks for that video.
Did you hear those talking points of the guys talking to him? Do you think the official points include "then call him an idiot if you can't win him over"?? :-)

Ducky, John Wayne was 100 times the man Sean Penn was.
I'm eager to see what charities Penn's done for America. Let us know!
Nothing left in Mamet's background? Have you ever HEARD or READ his experience? geeez..just keep talking; make it up if you have to.

I had surgery at the John Wayne Cancer Center here in Santa Monica; it's a fabulous place with the best doctors and the best facilities. smoke that, Ducky.

Need we all say it: JOHN WAYNE LOVED THIS COUNTRY.

that's enough for me.

Ducky, by the way..."ad hominem"?
We're supposed to let you blast Bush, blast Reagan, blast and name call EVERYONE you despise and WE didn't take long to go 'ad hominem'? are you KIDDING?

I have NEVER known anyone EVER who did that more than you and YOU whine?

"An ad hominem (Latin for "to the man" or "to the person"), short for argumentum ad hominem, is an attempt to negate the truth of a claim by pointing out a negative characteristic or belief of the person supporting it."

I thought I'd better get you a definition; I'm quite sure you've never NOT resorted to negating the truths here at geeeZ by pointing out one (even TINY) negative characteristic of the person supporting it...as LONG as you felt you dismissed the WHOLE STORY or WHOLE PERSON because of on little thing. It's almost shocking that you had the nerve to say this today.

Actually, it made me laugh..thanks! :-)

YA, I WISH PENN WOULD DO SOMETHING GREAT FOR OUR COUNTRY.
I THINK HE TOOK A LITTLE BOAT AND A PHOTOGRAPHER AND HELPED SOME PEOPLE IN KATRINA........CUTE ABOUT BRINGING A PHOTOGRAPHER ALONG; HE'LL PROBABLY SAY HE WANTED THE PLIGHT CAPTURED ON FILM BECAUSE THERE WEREN'T ENOUGH PICTURES TAKEN OF KATRINA :-)

Anyone else get the impression several posts (and not just at Z's) are quickly becoming the Ducky show?

He comments some ridiculous idea, like Penn being a great man and they watches the room explode.

I'll bet $20 that Ducky's some lonely chick that gets her rocks off posting stupid comments while eating her bon bons in her 2 room apartment and waiting for her "Obama money".

Big time a-holes.

People on MSNBC are just sick. I don't mind bias at all. I watch CNN and see it and I'm fine with it b/c it's very hard not to be biased.

But MSNBC has some serious malcontents, pathetic lowlives on there.

This channel is like a bar full of drunks but dressed nicely and with a nice decor.

I'd vote for a conservative green alien from Jupiter before voting for a white Catholic socialist guy from Earth.

I am so tired of this race card bullshit.

Every single time Ducky get's proven wrong on any topic, no matter how serious or how mundane, he disappears...runs like an antelope from lions.

This is unreal......Elmer's Brother's link includes:

"On Martin Bashir's television program this afternoon, Democratic strategist and MSNBC analyst Karen Finney said that Republicans are supporting Herman Cain because of his race:

"One of the things about Herman Cain is, I think that he makes that white Republican base of the party feel okay, feel like they are not racist because they can like this guy," Finney said. "I think he giving that base a free pass. And I think they like him because they think he's a black man who knows his place. I know that's harsh, but that's how it sure seems to me."

SO WAIT! When someone's COLOR is superseded by HIS CHARACTER, and the things he says ARE AGREED UPON BY THE REPUBLICANS, isn't that the very essence of NOT BEING RACIST? :-)

Anybody think Herman Cain is a man who looks like he "knows is place" and is subservient to ANYBODY?

I'm thinking these charges are SO STUPID and WILD that even Democrats who don't like Republicans would say "Is this NUTS? The left's going wwaaaay too far"
But, probably not.

FrogBurger's exactly right and proves my statement.

Joe, there are times I've asked Ducky something for the 1000th time and I include in my comment (if it's MOnday, for example) "See ya Wednesday, Ducky!"
He seems to disappear long enough in hopes that I won't, for example, ask him "Well, if OUR COUNTRY's not exceptional, which one IS?"

:-)

Hmm , lets see Penn arrested for assaulting a reporter. He hung another one out the window(9th floor) when he didn't like what he wrote about him. Felony Assault of his wife, wow that really takes a FINE MAN, my ass.
Two children out of wedlock, finally married her after . Dumped her butt and started shacking up with Jewel (it's called adultery)

Giving aid and comfort to the enemy (his visit to Iraq during time of war) That's treason, might fine man(in your socialist dumbass view) Hell, I 'd had him shot for treason.

His so called humanitarian work. BS call it what it is PHOTO OP. He hired a photographer to take pics of his "work".

Yep, the Duke had affairs, but none while he was married. He didn't beat his wife, he didn't beat reporters or hang them out of 9th story windows. He won the Congressional Gold Medal, Penn gets accolades from Moveon.idiot and fools like Michael Moore. LOL

Now what was that about Penn being a better man? Stop reading fairy tales and fiction duckass.
