What taught the OWS crowd their loony ideas?

PLEASE watch the video HERE..........it's Morley Safer's 60 MINUTES on the liberal indoctrination of children in Britain back sometime during Margaret Thatcher's administration, to give you an idea of the year.  These are the kids with OWS now, and the anarchist crowd, you know that. Now you'll know WHY.  Even Morley named his segment "THE LOONY LEFT"....I doubt he'd have done it now, but it was there then.  He's retired now, but the LOONY LEFT's still here, but they won't criticize themselves anymore, like Safer does here...excellent exposee..........but so sad and almost frightening.

If anyone thinks this indoctrination isn't happening here in America, and has been for a while, please inform yourself.  If only we'd awakened then, but who thought freedom of thought wouldn't be welcome in America OR Britain?  Who thought we'd have to be so careful that our textbooks teach real history?  Who thought we couldn't trust Americans to understand Western thought and ethos?

You'll all especially be interested at around 3:35 minutes into the video, where a Black woman on a school board says that a children's story about a Black horse is racist.   Then, at about 6:43, we hear a mathematics teacher explain  "nonracist MATH"  (yes, imagine?)

This is why we're in BIG trouble, folks...........more damaging than our economy's problems, more than about any problems, is the damage done by the idiotic indoctrination and wussifying of our children.  In the video, they show schools not allowing teachers to tell their children they've SUCCEEDED because that's "ELITIST"......

Teachers were (and are being) fired for not complying.  This isn't about the freedom of thought these Leftist LOONS are supposedly promoting, TRUST ME.   Imagine the quote "Education is about values".........

PLEASE watch it and then question your children or grandchildren.....find out what they're learning, what they think.  "Snow White" hasn't been read in schools for years.  "Dr Doolittle" was also taken off British school lists years ago.

And we've all been sleeping.   Better WAKE UP.  Do you think we can turn this around?  I don't.

Stress: some help

Some of you are shopping for Christmas and thinking about menus and repainting the spare room for guests and whatever you've got planned for Christmas, so I thought I'd post this list.......I hope it makes you smile and I hope some of them get put to use!:  Z

Whatever burdens you're carrying now, put them down for a moment. Relax,  pick them up later after you've rested. Life is short. These are fun and a good break from the madness and disillusionment of politics (and life in general)!

1  * Accept the fact that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue!

2 *  Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to  eat them.

3 *  Always read stuff that makes you feel good..

4 *  Drive carefully... It's not only cars that can be recalled by their Maker..

5 * If  you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague

6 * If  you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was  probably worth it..

7 * It  may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a  warning to others.

8 *  Never buy a car you can't push.

9 *  Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then  you won't have a leg to stand on.

10 *  Nobody cares if you can't dance well.
Just get up and dance..

11 *  Since it's the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late..
12 *  The second mouse gets the cheese.

13 *  When everything's coming your way,
you're in the wrong lane.
14 *  Birthdays are good for you. The more
you have, the longer  you live.

15 *  You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be the  world to one person.

16 *  Some mistakes are too much fun to make only once.

17 *  We could learn a lot from crayons.
Some are sharp, some are  pretty and
some are dull. Some have weird
names and all  are different colors,
but they all have to live in the same  box.

18 *  A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a  detour.

Cradle to Grave. Bye bye American dream

This is what America's public schools have taught your kids...America's future.   If one doesn't know one's history, one can be really, really dependent, stupid..........and what some would call "Progressive"..

Today's Lesson:  Dream, but not at government's expense

October 09, 2011|By Jack A. Chambless | Guest columnist for The Orlando Sentinel
On the first day of class this semester, I asked my students to spend 10 minutes writing a brief essay explaining their definition of the American Dream and what they expected the federal government to do to help them achieve their version of this dream. (Z; only the strong of heart and stomach should keep reading, trust me, this is a tough one)
The first part of all of their essays was pretty standard stuff. They wanted to have a good job, a home, a family and enough money to enjoy their lives for decades to come.
It was the second part of the majority of these essays (from a population of 180 students) that left me discouraged and bewildered.
When contemplating the role of Washington, D.C., in helping them achieve their goals in life, my students — most of whom were educated in America's public schools — wrote that they wanted government to "pay for my tuition," "provide me with a job," "give me money for a house," "make sure I get free health care," "pay for my retirement," "raise taxes on rich people so that I can have more money" and so forth.
One student who thought her American Dream could be best achieved with more government regulations went so far as to say, "We all know that there are many bad side effects when regulations take place, but as human beings, we are not really responsible for our own acts, and so we need government to control those who don't care about others. It makes sense that our freedom is reduced every day with the new regulations."

Recently, The Wall Street Journal reported that for the first time in our nation's history, 51 percent of Americans will not pay income taxes this year. It should also be noted that in 1983, just over 29 percent of Americans received some form of government assistance. Today the figure is 44.4 percent.
These figures are noteworthy and arguably linked to my students' concept of what the role of government should be in their lives.
After all, it makes intuitive sense that in a nation where fewer and fewer Americans are net contributors to our prosperity, the children of those who increasingly live off their fellow citizens would develop the perception that part, if not all, of the American Dream involves taking money away from a working, productive American in order to fill the financial gaps in our lives.
On the second day of class, I asked my students to pull out their purses and wallets. In each class, I approached one student, grabbed his wallet, opened it and took out all of the cash.
I then told the shocked student that part of my American Dream is to have a cabin on a lake in northern Minnesota some day so that I can enjoy my retirement in this beautiful part of the country.
My students listened to a mini-lecture on our Founding Fathers' view of our rights — especially as it pertains to the pursuit of happiness.
Many seemed to comprehend, perhaps for the first time, that all of us have every right to pursue access to high-quality health care, a good job, a home, cars, retirement and whatever else we might want to peacefully acquire, but that no one has an inherent right to use the arm of government to forcibly take the private property of another citizen in order to obtain our desires.

Z:  So, how do we teach kids the truth?  How do we undo their American public school educations so that they have respect for success, set their own goals dependent on their own talents and, (gasp) hard work,  don't expect handouts, and understand the self-reliance and independence which founded this country?

Barnie Frank.....

ooks like Barnie Frank isn't running again...........I know, stop crying; you'll get over it :-)
I just saw a bunch of articles in the mainstream/leftwing media which all mention right from the start of their articles "first openly gay Congressman"...So far, FOX and its affiliates are only leading with how long he's held office but, of course, that could change.  Odd that the Left has such an obsession with sexuality instead of just looking at people as PEOPLE.
Leftists here and other blogs like to call Republicans they dislike gay, too.......I never see that otherwise.  Well, until today in some comments, but.......it's rare.

Turkey APOLOGIZES for KILLINGS? :)

THIS is so rich in irony there is no more commentary needed.
Unbelievable.  By the way, had you ever even learned of the Armenian massacres by the Turks?  I'm curious;  many quite intelligent people I know have never heard of it.

Sunday Faith Blog...CHRISTMAS PRESENTS (and Happy First Advent)

First, I'd give you an update about my stepdaughter, Ms Z:  She and her sailing partner have made it in their 49' sail boat to Sardinia and they are now sailing to the west coast of Spain...to Ibiza, Estepona then through the Straits of Gibraltor to Lanzarote (Canary Islands), where she'll fly back to Munich.  There's wind and they're loving it. 3 more weeks of sailing.  She is crazy for dolphins and emailed that they had 2 sailing alongside them today!  Prayers answered!
(This isn't one of my typical Sunday Faith Blogs, but since it involves CHRISTMAS and CHRISTMAS is (usually) about FAITH, I thought I'd post it today as a shopping reminder before you spend too much on Chinese goods!!  I did not write this, but I say HURRAH! and I think YOU will, too..........please put it into practice!  I'll be publishing it again nearer Christmas  but thought I'd give you a head's UP while you're starting to shop!  One thing not mentioned is making something for your loved ones...knitting, carving, painting, whatever you do!  Anyway, here are amazing ideas our country can benefit from :
As the holidays approach, the giant Asian factories are kicking into high
gear to provide Americans with monstrous piles of cheaply produced goods --
merchandise that has been produced at the expense of American labor. This
year will be different. This year Americans will give the gift of genuine
concern for other Americans. There is no longer an excuse that, at gift
giving time, nothing can be found that is produced by American hands. Yes
there is!

It's time to think outside the box, people. Who says a gift needs to fit in
a shirt box, wrapped in Chinese produced wrapping paper?
Everyone -- yes EVERYONE gets their hair cut. How about gift certificates
from your local American hair salon or barber?

Gym membership? It's appropriate for all ages who are thinking about some
health improvement.

Who wouldn't appreciate getting their car detailed? Small, American owned
detail shops and car washes would love to sell you a gift certificate or a
book of gift certificates.

Are you one of those extravagant givers who think nothing of plunking down
the Benjamin’s on a Chinese made flat-screen? Perhaps that grateful gift
receiver would like his driveway sealed, or lawn mowed for the summer, or
driveway plowed all winter, or games at the local golf course.

There are a bazillion owner-run restaurants -- all offering gift
certificates. And, if your intended isn't the fancy eatery sort, what about
a half dozen breakfasts at the local breakfast joint. Remember, folks this
isn't about big National chains -- this is about supporting your home town
Americans with their financial lives on the line to keep their doors open.

How many people couldn't use an oil change for their car, truck or
motorcycle, done at a shop run by the American working guy?

Thinking about a heartfelt gift for mom? Mom would LOVE the services of a
local cleaning lady for a day.

My computer could use a tune-up, and I KNOW I can find some young guy who
is
struggling to get his repair business up and running.

OK, you were looking for something more personal. Local crafts people spin
their own wool and knit them into scarves. They make jewelry, and pottery
and beautiful wooden boxes.

Plan your holiday outings at local, owner operated restaurants and leave
your server a nice tip. And, how about going out to see a play or ballet at
your hometown theatre.

Musicians need love too, so find a venue showcasing local bands.

Honestly, people, do you REALLY need to buy another ten thousand Chinese
lights for the house? When you buy a five dollar string of lights, about
fifty cents stays in the community. If you have those kinds of bucks to
burn, leave the mailman, trash guy or babysitter a nice BIG tip.

You see, Christmas is no longer about draining American pockets so that
China can build another glittering city. Christmas is now about caring
about
US, encouraging American small businesses to keep plugging away to follow
their dreams. And, when we care about other Americans, we care about our
communities, and the benefits come back to us in ways we couldn't imagine.

THIS is the new American Christmas tradition.
Forward this to everyone on your mailing list -- post it to discussion
groups -- throw up a post on Craigslist in the Rants and Raves section in
your city -- send it to the editor of your local paper and radio stations,
and TV news departments. This is a revolution of caring about each other,
and isn't that what Christmas is about?
Z:  I really like these ideas, don't you?  OH, and another idea:   Send money to a charity in America and give your loved one a card that includes "In your honor, a donation has been made to ...The Amyloidosis Society..(as an example)..."  WHY NOT?  The amount needn't be known if you don't think you can send a lot, but any amount will help charities today.
I thank you, my site thanks you, and my country thanks you :-)  Oh, and Santa thanks you!  The stuff above isn't stuff he's got to lug around on his sleigh!!

Pakistan and Iran; are they ALL smarter than we are now?

Pakistan is ordering us OUT.   Yes, they want our 'secretive CIA' drone base closed.  And they are 'reviewing their alliance' with us.  Are you kidding me?   THEY are reviewing their alliance?  Countries didn't seem to push America quite so insultingly in the past, did they?  It almost sounds like they feel they're equal to our country and have absolutely no fear of any kind of reprisal.  The whole article sounds like it's all our fault, of course, until you finally read way down and the authors actually review some of the problems between America and Pakistan and at least suggest that all of Pakistan's complaints might not quite be valid.

Do you think Pakistan would be quite this pushy had Bush stayed in office and if they didn't know so well how our military's so badly threatened with defense cuts?    HOW much money do we give Pakistan?  It's horrid that innocent people might have been killed, but is this the appropriate response?

How do you think Obama will respond?  How would YOU respond?

AND THEN THERE'S THIS.........are they ALL smarter and more cunning than we are now?  It appears so.

America...thankful?

I thought I'd ask a question whose answers could get interesting;  I hope you think it over and chime in.
Here goes:
WHAT DOES AMERICA HAVE TODAY TO BE MOST THANKFUL FOR?

That's it..........what do you think?
(And, please see my article down below on the Secret Service's opinions of presidential families since JFK...it's fascinating.)
Thanks for leaving an answer to my question!

Secret Service President information.......wow!

These are quick sketches from the Secret Service of our presidents since JFK.  It's all  from THIS BOOK and, apparently, the Secret Service guys give their names when talking about the presidents.........They are all very interesting, but please make sure you read the last one.   It's what I thought, though I hoped I was wrong. z

JOHN & JACQUELINE KENNEDY: *A philanderer of the highest order.* She ordered the kitchen help to save all the left-over wine during State dinner, which mixed with fresh wine and served again during the next White House occasion.*

*LYNDON & LADYBIRD JOHNSON *Another philanderer of the highest order. In addition, LBJ was as crude as the day is long.* *Both JFK and LBJ kept a lot of women in the White House for extramarital affairs, and both had set up "early warning systems" to alert them if/when their wives were nearby. Both Kennedy & Johnson were promiscuous and oversexed men. *She was either naive or just pretended to "not know" about her husband's many liaisons. *

*RICHARD & PAT NIXON ** *A "moral" man but very odd and weird, paranoid, etc. He had horrible relationship with his family, and in a way, was almost a recluse.* *She was quiet most of the time.*

*SPIRO AGNEW:** Nice, decent man, everyone in the Secret Service was surprised about his downfall. *

*GERALD & BETTY FORD: **A true gentlemen who treated the Secret Service with respect and dignity. He had a great sense of humor.. She drank a lot!* (z; the review includes that he was really cheap!)

*JIMMY & ROSALYN CARTER: **A complete phony who would portray one picture of himself to public and very different in private, e..g., would be shown carrying his own luggage, but the suit cases were always empty; he kept empty ones just for photo op's. Wanted the people to see him as pious and a non-drinker, but he and his family drank alcohol a lot. He had disdain for the Secret Service, and was very irresponsible with the "football" nuclear codes. He didn't think it was a big deal and would keep military aides at a great distance. Often does not acknowledge the presence of Secret Service personnel assigned to serve him.*She mostly did her own thing.*

*RONALD & NANCY REAGAN: **The real deal --- moral, honest, respectful, and dignified. They treated Secret Service and everyone else with respect and honor. Thanked everyone all the time. He took the time to know everyone on a personal level. *One "favorite" story which has circulated among the Secret Service personnel was an incident early in his Presidency, when he came out of his room with a pistol tucked on his hip. The agent in charge asked: "Why the pistol, Mr. President?" He replied, "In case you boys can't get the job done, I can help." It was common for him to carry a pistol. When he met with Gorbachev, he had a pistol in his briefcase. Upon learning that Gary Hart was caught with Donna Rice, Reagan said, "Boys will be boys, but boys will not be Presidents." [He obviously either did not know or forgot JFK's and LBJ's sexcapades!]* *She was very nice but very protective of the President; and the Secret Service was often caught in the middle. She tried hard to control what the President ate, and he would say to the agent "Come on, you gotta help me out."

The Reagan’s drank wine during State dinners and special occasions only; otherwise, they shunned alcohol; the Secret Service could count on one hand the times they were served wine during their "family dinner". For all the fake bluster of the Carters, the Reagan’s were the ones who lived life as genuinely moral people.*

*GEORGE H. & BARBARA BUSH: *Extremely kind and considerate Always respectful. Took great care in making sure the agents' comforts were taken care of. They even brought them meals, etc. *One time Barbara Bush brought warm clothes to agents standing outside at Kennebunkport; one agent who was given a warm hat, and when he tried to nicely say "no thanks" even though he was obviously freezing, President Bush said "Son, don't argue with the First Lady, put the hat on.." He was the most prompt of the Presidents. He ran the White House like a well-oiled machine.* She ruled the house and spoke her mind.*

BILL & HILLARY CLINTON
:**Presidency was one giant party. Not trustworthy --- he was nice because he wanted everyone to like him, but to him life is just one big game and party. Everyone knows of his sexuality.*She is another phony. Her personality would change the instant cameras were near. She hated with open disdain the military and Secret Service. She was another one who felt people are there to serve her. She was always trying to keep tabs on Bill Clinton.*

ALBERT GORE: An egotistical ass, who was once overheard by his Secret Service detail lecturing his only son that he needed to do better in school or he "would end up like these guys" --- pointing to the agents.*

GEORGE W. & LAURA BUSH: The Secret Service loved him and Laura Bush. >>>>>He was also the most physically "in shape" who had a very strict workout regimen. The Bushes made sure their entire administrative and household staff understood to respect and be considerate of the Secret Service. KARL ROVE was the one who was the most caring of the Secret Service in the administration.* *She was one of the nicest First Ladies, if not the nicest; she never had any harsh word to say about anyone.*

BARACK & MICHELLE OBAMA: " Clinton all over again" - hates the military and looks down on the Secret Service. He is egotistical and cunning; looks you in the eye and appears to agree with you, but turns around and does the opposite---untrustworthy. He has temper tantrums.*She is a complete bitch, who hates anybody who is not black; hates the military; and looks at the Secret Service as servants.

Thanksgiving Thankfulness

The message in quotes below is from JESUS CALLING, by Sarah Young.  I highly recommend it and, because it's Thanksgiving, I thought I'd share this with you today and I hope it's something that will help some of you today and always.......:
"Thankfulness takes the sting out of adversity.  That is why I (*Jesus) have instructed you to give thanks for everything.  There is an element of mystery in this transaction:  You give Me thanks (regardless of your feelings), and I give you Joy (regardless of your circumstances).  This is a spiritual act of obedience-at times, blind obedience.  To people who don't know Me intimately, it can seem irrational and even impossible to thank Me for heartrending hardships. Nonetheless, those who obey Me in this way are invariably blessed, even though difficulties may remain.

Thankfulness opens your heart to My Presence and your mind to My thoughts.  You may still be in the same place, with the same set of circumstances, but it is as if a light has been switched on, enabling you to see from My perspective.  It is this Light of My Presence that removes the sting from adversity." *Love, Jesus.

"O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever." Psalm 118:1

"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports... And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion."  George Washington, another prophet.  Please see a great article on the history of Thanksgiving at Debbie's Blog, Right Truth.

Have a wonderful day........Have a delicious meal............give thanks to God.....for everything.
Love, Z

Bias and very funny Balderdash! Get this!

"DID MICHELE BACHMANN DIVULGE CLASSIFIED INFO AT DEBATE?"

That's one of the few Yahoo headlines tonight.   Well, if she didn't, why have a YAHOO HEADLINE, right?  Who'd even bother to read the linked article?  Americans who see that now think she divulged classified information.  How couldn't they?   But, as surprised as I was when I read the headline, I thought I'd better see what the heck she did NOW!!   And the first many paragraphs make it look like (yikes!) she DID!
But the 8th paragraph is finally this:   "Well, apparently, the answer is no."    oh.  oh, my.
No media misleading going on there, right?  No bias, right? (ya, right :-)  sarcasm.
On the lighter side, from Russia, believe it or not...there's THIS!! :  On REN-TV--the host, Tatyana Limanova, reported that Russian President Dmitry Medvedev had been named chairman of the Asia Pacific Cooperation, a position that "has (previously) been held by Barack Obama." Limanova was then shown looking down and raising her middle finger.
This part is HILARIOUS if you watch the video!  The article goes on to say that "REN would not publicly comment on the incident. But, according to the London Telegraph, the unofficial explanation is that Limanova thought she was off-camera giving a voice-over--and that the gesture "was intended for studio technicians who had been trying to put her off her stride."  Look at the video HERE and see how obvious it was that she was ON camera and giving our president her opinion of him!!    It's pretty sad when you're not terribly upset that a Russian feels that way about an American sitting president, isn't it.    heh
:-)
z
Don't miss Mac 'n GeeeZ's Thanksgiving issue :-)  Good food talk going on!
This is MT. ETNA, taken 7 hours ago by Ms Z on her month long sailing trip on Alita, a 49' sailboat she's sailing with a sailing partner. They're doing four hour shifts of sailing/sleeping.......from a small town in Turkey to the Canary Islands........this is a fishing village called Riposta, near Sicily, and Mt Etna.  I thought you'd like to see it, too........
Please make sure you read the piece below.....amazing!

Some things simply never change....get a load of this from 1949

We'd have had a chance if anybody'd listened back then and we didn't have a whole party actually believing we WILL not "run out of cash"..... with the kind of thinking in this old article/poem and less indoctrination through these last years, perhaps things wouldn't have gone as "smash" as they have.  Things are so far worse than most of us think.  America needs prayer, folks.
Thanks, Ellen.

It's the Republicans' faults, Mr. Obama?

Obama's already blaming Republicans for the inability of the Congressional Committee to make about a trillion dollars in cuts.   Too bad he completely ignored the Simpson/Bowles recommendations...what happened with that, anyway? That made four trillion in cuts, but Obama apparently did nothing at all about it. These are the programs that the Republicans proposed cutting.  Read to the end (comments after some of them are NOT mine)

* Prohibit taxpayer funded union activities by federal employees -- $1.2 billion savings over ten years.

My question is, what is most of this doing in the budget in the first place?

THIS isn't a ticket to FRAUD?! :-)

A Minnesota congressman has proposed federal legislation that would impose his state’s type of voter registration – which leads the nation in voter fraud cases – on the other 49 states, according to critics who have launched online campaigns to make people aware of the dangers of Rep Keith Ellison's H.R. 3316 and its companion H.R. 3317.
“Our votes control trillions of public dollars, yet Ellison would have us believe nobody would ever steal them. We can trust everybody, right?” said a commentary posted on the Election Integrity Watch site.
“Would you keep your money in bank that allowed people to make withdrawals without checking their identity and verifying that they are entitled to the money?” the site wondered.
In a commentary promoting his H.R. 3316, which would banish all photo identification requirements, and H.R. 3317, which would allow people to walk into a polling location, register and vote immediately, Ellison said his intent is to curb “voter suppression.”
“The Same Day Registration Act would require states to provide for same day voter registration for a federal election. The Voter Access Protection Act would make sure election officials cannot require photo identification in order to cast a vote or register to vote,” he said. (end of article)

Z:  I'm thinking we want people who can plan ahead enough, like they could in the 'old days', and register properly and on time...?
UNBELIEVABLE.   I should have added this to my post below about the dangers facing America today.   BIG DEAL:  Get a photo ID, register on time, vote once, and GO HOME.   What's the BIG PROBLEM?
z

Are we SAFE?

So...let's look at what we've got (in just this past week):

A bullet hit the White House.

A top secret dossier about Obama's every step (including what car door will open) on an Australian trip was found in a gutter for all to see.  Who could have used it to attack him?  What an amazing coincidence that an Aussie journalist found it in the gutter!(what?)

We've found out that our CIA's had people captured and probably killed and Hezbollah's boasting about that and Iran's thrilled that they also found American agents. This should take major rebooting of our sources there and we haven't the outstanding manpower we had in the past even if we had the time. They're not afraid of us anymore; this is the worst American defense situation we could have ever imagined; and we didn't think we'd ever have to.

Experts are saying that deeper budget cuts than originally planned will reap "dire consequences" for America.

And the Feds aren't pursuing the NYC bomber because he's "mentally unstable" and "probably incapable" of having pulled anything off, anyway.  That's after the NYPD, one of the best in the world, says that they've been surveilling him since May 2009 and he was about to blow up a police station.

Yes, I know, some liberals will think this is all fun and games,we deserve what we get, and there's no story here :-)..   But, this is addressed to my thinking readers who love their families and this country.   How safe are you feeling and do you feel different than you did almost 3 years ago?

(oh, and none of these is a Yahoo headline, by the way...there is a headline about greenhouse gases and that some guy who's famous for making hot dogs died, however...)

(Think Chris Matthews feels safer?  Check out the video below; it MIGHT cheer you up!)

Matthews disses OBAMA

Chris  Matthews..."Obama's surrounded by virtual people....little kids with propellers on their heads,"  Americans have "nothing to ROOT FOR with Obama,"  He makes "no phone calls to members of Congress...he doesn't like their company..........that's a problem, by the way."
Ya, Chris, we've known there's a problem for a while now.....I hadn't realized Obama doesn't stay in touch with members of Congress like other presidents have, or that he apparently doesn't like their company, but I've sure felt he doesn't like this country very much.  I don't agree with you on the liberal positions you'd like Obama to take a stand on but I sure do agree with you that there is nothing to root for, and it does seem like this IS "all there is."  Let's hope that by November 2012, it'll be "is that all there was?" and we can get on with fixing this country.

WOW.  What do you think, geeeZ readers?   Chris has come a long way from that thrill going up his leg,  huh?  Man, who HASN'T?

The bomb is bad enough

THIS news tonight out of NYC....some guy was building bombs.
My above link doesn't have a lot of information; just about the amount that should be given in a case that should involve secrecy and some level of protection of facts.  But, no worries...CNN and FOX are at it now airing a press conference with Mayor Bloomberg and NYPD Chief Kelly who's showing America the bomb and demonstrating how it works, telling exactly where the would-be terrorist found the information on how to make them (just in case there's someone out there who didn't know, now he does),  and telling about how long he's been surveilled and who was surveilling him, etc etc., so the next creep knows what to look for and to be tighter lipped.  Ya, just in case some copy cat nut is watching, they've helped fill him in.
(and yes, I know that 'anybody' could get this information, so it's no big deal it's exposed on television; I just think it's a good idea NOT to)

Sunday Faith Blog

William Stringfellow was a theologian, attorney and civil rights activist. I do not believe prayer is "a last resort" but I agree with the rest of it and thought it was beautiful and wanted to share it with you. He wrote:

Prayer “. . .is a last resort. . . .But how do you do it?
That’s just the trouble, friend.
Prayer is nothing you do; prayer is someone you are.
Prayer is not about doing, but about being.
Prayer is about being alone in God’s presence.
Prayer is being so alone that God is the only witness to your existence.
The secret of prayer is God affirming your life.
That, that alone, is incompatible with loneliness.
If you pray, you cannot be lonely.
Prayer is the last resort.”
Prayer is someone you are.
Prayer is being.

"When you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." Matthew 6:6

Happy Sunday............prayer does help. Believe me.
By the way, does anybody have a story of answered prayer that you'd like to share? Please do!

Call it an occupational hazard, but I can’t look at the Occupy Wall Street protesters without thinking, “Who parented these people?”

As a culture columnist, I’ve commented on the social and political ramifications of the “movement” - now known as “OWS” - whose fairyland agenda can be summarized by one of their placards: “Everything for everybody”.

Thanks to their pipe-dream platform, it’s clear there are people with serious designs on “transformational” change in America who are using the protesters like bed springs in a brothel.

Yet it’s not my role as a commentator that prompts my parenting question, but rather the fact that I’m the mother of four teens and young adults. There are some crucial life lessons that the protesters’ moms clearly have not passed along.

Here, then, are five things the OWS protesters’ mothers should have taught their children but obviously didn’t, so I will:

• Life isn’t fair. The concept of justice - that everyone should be treated fairly - is a worthy and worthwhile moral imperative on which our nation was founded. But justice and economic equality are not the same. Or, as Mick Jagger said, “You can’t always get what you want.”

No matter how you try to “level the playing field,” some people have better luck, skills, talents or connections that land them in better places. Some seem to have all the advantages in life but squander them, others play the modest hand they’re dealt and make up the difference in hard work and perseverance, and some find jobs on Wall Street and eventually buy houses in the Hamptons. Is it fair? Stupid question.

• Nothing is “free.” Protesting with signs that seek “free” college degrees and “free” health care make you look like idiots, because colleges and hospitals don’t operate on rainbows and sunshine. There is no magic money machine to tap for your meandering educational careers and “slow paths” to adulthood, and the 53 percent of taxpaying Americans owe you neither a degree nor an annual physical.

While I’m pointing out this obvious fact, here are a few other things that are not free: overtime for police officers and municipal workers, trash hauling, repairs to fixtures and property, condoms, Band-Aids and the food that inexplicably appears on the tables in your makeshift protest kitchens. Real people with real dollars are underwriting your civic temper tantrum.

• Your word is your bond. When you demonstrate to eliminate student loan debt, you are advocating precisely the lack of integrity you decry in others. Loans are made based on solemn promises to repay them. No one forces you to borrow money; you are free to choose educational pursuits that don’t require loans, or to seek technical or vocational training that allows you to support yourself and your ongoing educational goals. Also, for the record, being a college student is not a state of victimization. It’s a privilege that billions of young people around the globe would die for - literally.

• A protest is not a party. On Saturday in New York, while making a mad dash from my cab to the door of my hotel to avoid you, I saw what isn’t evident in the newsreel footage of your demonstrations: Most of you are doing this only for attention and fun. Serious people in a sober pursuit of social and political change don’t dance jigs down Sixth Avenue like attendees of a Renaissance festival. You look foolish, you smell gross, you are clearly high and you don’t seem to realize that all around you are people who deem you irrelevant.

• There are reasons you haven’t found jobs. The truth? Your tattooed necks, gauged ears, facial piercings and dirty dreadlocks are off-putting. Nonconformity for the sake of nonconformity isn’t a virtue. Occupy reality: Only 4 percent of college graduates are out of work. If you are among that 4 percent, find a mirror and face the problem. It’s not them. It’s you.

amen, sista
....and WAIT TILL YOU SEE THIS The Guardian says the White House shooter is to be blamed on the TEA PARTIES!!  Are you ready for THAT?   That's in spite of the FACT that the San Diego OWS nuts held a MOMENT OF SILENCE in solidarity for him!
I swear you can't make this crap up, can you?

China's president kisses Obama on the LIPS? PTUI!

Is Western society really THIS sick?   Benetton, the clothing manufacturer, is now featuring world leaders kissing in their ads.  The picture of China's Hu Jintao and Barack Obama kissing on the lips is so disgusting I couldn't post the image here but just click on the word "THIS" above and you'll have an eyeful (eat later IF you can, not before).

When I first moved to Paris in May 1999, there were ads from Benetton on every light post and Metro wall of American Death Row inmates........under their pictures (and they chose the best looking inmates you could find) was written anything good they could find to say about them.  Message: These are great guys who just happened to kill their wife and should be better understood...and look how handsome they are!  They simply couldn't have done that and they must be let go for the sake of loving our brothers.   I couldn't believe it.
Now THIS?  And kids pass these posters on the street every single day.   I call this DISGUSTING.   What do you call it?

Gad, I hope I can get that image out of my mind ..... and SOON.
FOR THE RECORD;  NOBODY THOUGHT THIS WASN'T PHOTOSHOPPED!  I DIDN'T THINK OBAMA OF HU JINTAO WOULD ACTUALLY DO THIS! :-)!!

Cutting our Military........accepting "substantial risk"...

WASHINGTON (AP) — Defense Secretary Leon Panetta warned Congress on Monday that deeper defense cuts would leave the military with the smallest ground force since 1940, lead to possible months-long furloughs of civilian employees and force the Pentagon to recalibrate its national security strategy to accept "substantial risk."
The Pentagon is already facing $450 billion in cuts to projected spending over the next 10 years, an amount that could more than double if members of Congress' supercommittee fail to produce a $1.2 trillion deficit-cutting plan by Nov. 23. Panetta, who repeatedly has argued against further reductions, offered the most detailed description of the implications of the automatic, across-the-board cuts that would kick in — half coming from defense.
In the first year alone of 2013, it would add up to a 23 percent cut that Panetta called devastating.
"Such a large cut, applied in this indiscriminate manner, would render most of our ship and construction projects unexecutable -- you cannot buy three quarters of a ship or a building and seriously damage other modernization efforts. We would also be forced to separate many of our civilian personnel involuntarily and, because the reduction would be imposed so quickly, we would almost certainly have to furlough civilians in order to meet the target," Panetta wrote in a letter.
By his calculations, "we would have the smallest ground force since 1940, the smallest number of ships since 1915, and the smallest Air Force in its history" at the end of the decade, Panetta said.
Panetta, who has used apocalyptic terms such as "doomsday," ''hollow force" and "paper tiger" to describe the cuts, spelled out the details in a letter to Sen. John McCain of Arizona, the top Republican on the Armed Services Committee, and Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., a member of the panel. The two had written to Panetta earlier this month seeking specifics.
While painting a dire picture of the military if the automatic cuts are triggered, Panetta also implored the lawmakers to stave off such reductions.
If they did not, the Pentagon chief said the military would have to rethink its strategy.
"We would have to formulate a new security strategy that accepted substantial risk of not meeting our defense needs. A sequestration budget is not one that I could recommend," said Panetta, a former California congressman and head of the House Budget Committee.
At least two of the potential cuts outlined by Panetta would strike at the heart of U.S. defense strategy.
One is the elimination of missile defense in Europe. The Obama administration's commitment to building a network of radars and interceptors to defend all of Europe against a potential missile strike from Iran is central to U.S. efforts to update NATO defense priorities, improve defense cooperation with Russia and deter Iran.
The other — eliminating one of three "legs" of the U.S. nuclear arsenal — would force a historic shift in nuclear planning. Panetta said he would be forced to eliminate intercontinental ballistic missiles, the globe-circling missiles based in underground silos. These currently consist of 450 Minuteman III missiles based in the north-central U.S. The other two legs of the nuclear arsenal are submarine-launch ballistic missiles and air-launch missiles and bombs.
In his letter, Panetta said the deeper reductions would affect the military's ability to support the war in Afghanistan and lead to a fleet of fewer than 230 ships, the smallest number since 1915.
He offered a list of weapons programs that would be cut back, delayed or terminated such as the Joint Strike Fighter, the next generation ballistic missile submarine and new Army helicopters. Any reductions in weapons programs would set off a fierce fight in Congress as lawmakers look to protect programs and jobs in their districts.
Delaying or terminating surveillance drone programs would stifle a critical new technology that has allowed the U.S. to better track and eliminate terrorists in countries where American troops are not present.
Recent examples include the strike that killed al-Qaida-linked cleric Anwar al-Awlaki in Yemen and the surveillance that led to the death of ousted Libyan Leader Moammar Gadhafi. Drones are also the weapon of choice for the CIA as it hunts and kills insurgents in Pakistan that routinely target U.S. and coalition troops in Afghanistan.
Panetta's comments add pressure to the supercommittee just 10 days before its deadline as panel Republicans and Democrats struggle to fulfill their mandate. The Pentagon letter also stirs the recent talk in Congress about trying to nullify the automatic cuts, a step McCain and Graham have discussed. However, President Barack Obama said last week that he wouldn't accept any legislation that tries to undo the automatic cuts.
In a statement, McCain and Graham said the automatic cuts "would set off a swift decline of the United States as the world's leading military power. ... This is not an outcome that we can live with, and it is certainly not one that we should impose on ourselves. The sequester is a threat to the national security interests of the United States, and it should not be allowed to occur."  (Z: OH, no wonder Obama won't accept cuts.)

Conservatism and the Constitution..........

This is yet another piece written by ecc 10:20, otherwise known as Chakam:  I wonder what you think:
What is this almost mystical link between Conservatism and The US Constitution?
I say this as my opening salvo because I do not see liberalism touting the truth and strength of our Constitution, ever, to defend their ideals.  Conservatism, as strictly a “political ideal”, would die without it.  Time and again I see and hear Conservatism returning to the principles of our Constitution to refute and expose the dire policies and actions of our current administration and our current Congress, and the only retort the liberals can give is to insult us and call us names.  Why can’t liberalism go to The Constitution to defend itself from this Conservative line of questioning?
Is it that as Conservatives, we are non-revisionistic in our beliefs, ie, we don’t believe The Constitution is an “evolving document” that will reflect our current society and change with our flavor-of-the-month social whims?  Is it that The Constitution was indeed inspired by the Lord and His very Spirit is in the very words and principles of our Constitution, and to understand it one must first understand the Lord?  Please consider the following statements:
President John Adams said, “Our Constitution was made for a moral and religious people.  It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other.”
William Patterson, from New Jersey and an original signer of our Constitution said, “Religion and morality are necessary to good government, good order, and good laws, for when the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice.”
Take from these statements what you wish, but to me it is iron-clad proof, from men who were closer to the Constitution than anyone alive today, that there is an element of the Lord in our Constitution and in true government that cannot be escaped or ignored.  I believe when these men referenced “religion”, they were speaking of the Lord and King I worship today.  Oh, and it isn’t Obama, sorry.  My songs of praise don’t have his name in them.
Am I saying this is strictly a religious thing?  Am I saying that you cannot be a Conservative and not be a Christian?  Am I saying you cannot be a liberal and be a Christian?  Hardly.  That is a blanket statement I am not prepared to make.
However, on the issues of morality and religion, I would say that an atheist or a God-hater will have a hell of a time, (no pun intended), wrapping their heads around the ideals of our Constitution, and will probably view it much like the vampires in the old Hammer films from the 60′s when a cross is displayed:  They will hiss, recoil, and run away, plotting in themselves how they can destroy such an offensive object.  I have yet to see liberalism, when manifested in the words or actions of one of its followers, say anything positive about The US Constitution as it was written.
I mentioned before that liberalism views our Constitution as an “evolving” document.  Hmm…  “Evolving” into what, pray tell?  Things only evolve into better versions of what they were to begin with.  Is someone going to write a better Constitution than what we have today?  Curious.  I suppose then we could finally remove the whole “our Creator” thing from our Constitution and make sure humanity gets all the credit.
Liberalism depends upon emotionalism to find its identity, and Conservatism is far from being overly emotional or excitable when crossed.  And since liberalism is emotion-based, it has a lot of “gray area” in which it can zig and zag and use the excuse of, “Oh, that’s not what I really meant when I said….”.  Conservatism, on the other hand, is based upon fact, accountability, historical realities, and common sense.  None of those traits find themselves rooted in emotionalism or touchy-feely fancies.  Truth, to us, never changes and isn’t relative, but absolute.  Such is the “curse” of Conservatism, (he types with tongue-in-cheek.)
I believe it is the fact that we, as Conservatives, are rooted in these truths that the US Constitution means so much to us.  We rest in it.  We read it and find peace and comfort in it.  It is the only one of its kind- no other Nation on this planet has a Constitution like ours and no other Nation on this planet has an origin like ours.  It is as perfect today as it was when it was written.  We cling to our “guns and religion”, as so deftly put by a liberal, and are viewed as simpletons and hillbillies and rednecks who don’t know enough about the “really real world” of the liberal intellectual elitist.  Fah.
I’ve seen the fruits of the “really real world” that the liberals all espouse.  It is sorely lacking in morality and/or religion, (unless you consider protecting defenseless trees, whales, and frogs, yet discarding human babies into the trash bins behind your abortion mills religious activities of some sort).  I’ve seen the people who preach liberalism and their inability to answer concrete and definitive questions with solid answers during Town Hall meetings.  Not once did these liberals cite The US Constitution to uphold their ideals and policies.  Side note: If Mr. Obama is an expert on The Constitution, I would love to read anything he has written about it.
I would like to be wrong about this.  Even though liberals are complete opposites of who and what I am, they are still Americans.  Americans should know The US Constitution and be able to reference it when needed for the instruction and correction of those who fall by the wayside of emotional ignorance.  I wish that liberalism would embrace and drink from our Constitution.  Perhaps it would open their eyes to see that Conservatism isn’t all about “racsim, hate-mongering, ignorance, and anti-Obamaness”.  I would welcome any liberal who would wish to have an open debate with me regarding our Constitution and how it relates to government today.  However, I may as well be wishing for a pony on my next birthday.  It just won’t happen.
The connection between the US Constitution and Conservatism is simple enough:  The Founding Fathers were not Pelosi, Frank, Reid, Holder, etc.  The Founding Fathers were Conservatives who listened to the Lord and did not squander their new Nation, given to them by the Lord, with writing a useless and “evolving” document in which to govern it.  If we could somehow go back to the late 1700s, I wonder how our current politicians would be viewed and judged by our Founding Fathers?  But I digress…
I am a Conservative who has his feet planted firmly on The US Constitution in terms of proper governance, and I have my spirit rooted deeply in The Scriptures in terms of proper interaction with the world this side of Heaven, much like a large number of other Conservatives.  I cannot be a Conservative and hate The Constitution.  I cannot be a Conservative and view The Constitution as anything less than the pure inspiration and guidance of the Lord given to men to form this more Perfect Union.
You can view our Constitution without the spiritual eyes of a Christian, obviously.  You can even say that our Constitution is perfectly written and applicable in today’s modern world, even hundreds of years after it was written.  I still haven’t found a liberal who “gets it”, though.  I still haven’t found a liberal who can reason and apply our Constitution to even the smallest of their ideals.
Funny, that.
I suppose my intent on this article was to say, simply, that Conservatism is the champion of The US Constitution, while liberalism is the champion of, well, liberalism.  Whenever a person is shot there is usually an outcry to ban handguns by liberals.  How is this possible when our Constitution gives me the right to keep and bear arms?  The liberal doesn’t see this, nor will they.  An easy example, but effective nonetheless.  To the liberal our Constitution is a pesky nuisance and shouldn’t be interpreted as being viable to today’s modern world, since so many things have changed in the last 200 and some years.

A departure from the norm: Christianity will fall in American society

(Z: Please don't read this unless you have time to read till the end, it's that important!)

Posted on November 6, 2011 by
Now, before you knee-jerk any comments about the title of this post, allow me to elaborate.  Patience, please.
This post will be a brief departure from the normal stuff I speak about, but it is one I have wanted to write for quite a while now.  I will thank you for your kind attention.
I am a Christian.  I am.  I am walking covenantally with Christ Jesus of Nazareth.  I am walking in the sonship He has placed upon my shoulders through His sacrifice on The Cross, and I fully consider God as my Father.  I have refrained from waxing theological on this blog, save for the blatant reference to The Scriptures in using Ecclesiastes 10:2 as the inspiration for this blog.  I am not seeking to ‘save your soul’ or ‘change the world for Jesus’ with this blog.  Since we do not relate face-to-face, I have no desire nor stomach for ‘drive-by evangelism’.  But I digress.
Listen, Christianity is going to fall in America.  I did not say it would fail.  I did not say Jesus would fail.  I did not say that God would fail in His plan of Salvation through the New Covenant and His ultimate will for His Creation.  No, no, no.  God my Father is Sovereign, and His will is always done.
What I am saying is that here, in America, Christianity will be vilified, persecuted, hunted, and eventually almost wiped-out.  It’s going to happen.  Bet on it.  It has already started, in case you haven’t been paying attention.
So many believers wish to couple politics and government with Jesus and His New Covenant, and it simply should not be so.  Politics is temporal.  Man’s governments are temporal.  Jesus told us we would be hated because of Him.  Yet time and again I see countless blog postings about how awful it is that Christians are being targeted, and how awful it is that God has been removed from our schools and so on and so on.
Why are Christians shocked about these things happening?  Do they think that all we need is a fine, strong Christian President and Congress and all our problems will disappear?  Did Jesus ever say He wanted to be President?  He lived in an Israel under Roman oppression and brutality.  Yet what did He say about this?  He said, “Render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s.”  That was it.  Why do so many believers today think that Jesus wants to take over America’s government and make it His?  He already has a government.  It’s called The Kingdom.  His Kingdom, His government is not this side of Heaven.  It is in our hearts and in our spirits, through our salvation and His indwelling.  Jesus did not come to us according to His Father’s will to change our governments.  He came to change the hearts of men.
We will be hunted down.  We will be imprisoned, tortured, and killed.  All references to the Judeo-Christian God we worship will be scrubbed from our courts, our schools, and our history books as a Nation.  I can almost guarantee this.  America will become a truly secular and satanic nation.  It is inevitable.
Many believers will fall away from Christianity.  And rightly so.  Jesus will sweep His winnowing fork through the harvest, and the wheat shall be separated from the chaff.  He is interested in those whom He has called, not those who have falsely attached themselves to His Name.  Blood will flow.  Families will be destroyed.  Yet His people will be strong, and shall not bend under the weight of evil that is coming.
When I read bloggers who lament the approach and onslaught of secularism, Islam, atheism, etc, and the vilification of Jesus and His Salvation, I shake my head wearily.  We need to grow up and realize that everything that is going to happen is all a part of our Father’s will.  All of it.
Christianity is going to fall in America.  It is.  There shall be a remnant, though.  My God always reserves for Himself a remnant, for His Word never returns void back to Him.
So what should we do, then, as believers?  Should we invest our time in politics and trying to make sure the really real Christian makes it into office?  Or perhaps we should seek to know our neighbors, love our enemies, and walk humbly with our God.
Pointing out evil is appropriate, and we should be the voice of Truth as we are enabled to be.  But Jesus ain’t gonna be the President.  So stop trying to make Him into it, and simply do what you can to present the Truth in word and in deed, making the most of every minute you have this side of Heaven.  Our Father has everything under control.  (end of article)

OCCUPY PENN STATE? Is that coming now?

THIS article, other articles I've read on the subject, and the television coverage about Penn State's scandal is getting on my nerves.   I'm getting the impression that all of Penn State must suffer because some horrid people did really bad things.

The rapist SCUM Sandusky did wrong, Paterno seems to have done wrong, the President did wrong........but I'm getting from the students in (unending) TV interviews that they feel that they and their whole school are guilty. And to watch some TV coverage, you'd think so, too.  But they ARE NOT.   A SCHOOL doesn't do bad things anymore than a GUN shoots people.   The KIDS did nothing wrong, they're innocent students who knew nothing about all of this.  Yet, it sounds like they're carrying guilt for the few really guilty ones.

Have you been getting that feeling, too?  And did you notice the following from the article linked above?:

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP)—The Nebraska and Penn State players gathered at midfield before the game, kneeling together for a long moment in a quiet stadium.

“Lord, we know we don’t have control of all these events that took place this week. But we do know that you are bigger than it all,” Nebraska running backs coach Ron Brown said in the pregame prayer.

NOW what?  Will there be another scandal about how players invoked GOD in a public school setting?  man.  If that can make enough conversation on TV news shows to fill time between advertisements, it just might.    I'm sick of all this crap, pardon the expression.

SOME PEOPLE did unspeakable things and they need punishment.  The school does not, the students do not, the coaches and teachers who knew nothing do NOT need to be made to feel their school is anything less than it was two weeks ago.   I even just saw some dope on FOX, named Jehmu, talking about something like "corporate university complexes"...with the same hate this liberal would spit the words Military Industrial Complex!  I swear!  As if this horrid incident speaks for ALL universities?  That was her definite implication.

What "legs" is this story going to grow?   And does the student body deserve this? Do we need to hear every ugly detail?  Is this story being covered with integrity?
z
