He reminds me of our cat, Oliver. When Sylvester passed on, Oliver changed completely. He decided to no longer use the litterbox and instead tried using my guitar cases. He became mean, too, so we had to end up giving him to a friend. He's getting happier. I don't think he took Sylvester's sudden disappearance too well.
My favorite color for a cat. He looks like a sweet old Tom. But I'd hate to be sitting on a narrow perch way up in the air like that. They'd have to call the rescue team to get me down.
There, there kitty. Big of a big fella that.
Steve-When my husband died, our Maine Coon went from 20#s to 12, in 3 yrs. He quit using the litter box and ruinned several pieces of furniture...I ended up putting him to sleep.
And our dog went into depression when we went home without him.
My daughter was given a kitten a month later, which perked up the dog!
Good morning, G*D bless and Maranatha!

I've never had such problems with other cats when one of the kitty family passes on. Maybe it's a male-cat thing? We've always had females here.
is it catblog sunday?
we've added a new little girl to our household - mewna lisa, a tortie. at first clawed mewnet wanted to kill her and now he just wants to play and clean her to death!
Say HELLO to Fred...this is the cat of a friend who passed away almost 3 years ago.
She had THE most paranoid, mommy-loving cats you EVER wanted (or didn't want to) to meet!
They'd skitter away when anyone but Nancy was around...Scared, dependent, skittish...to everyone but her! They were like psycho cats, honestly! She asked a friend to take the two cats, Fred and Ginger, after she died and Mary did.
Mary had to put her own two on kitties on prozac (i'm serious) because they resented these two skittish weird cats coming into the fold. it was apparently bedlam at one point and Mary begged me to drive to San Francisco and pick Nancy's cats up! I toyed with the idea but felt it wasn't right. Then I felt VERY guilty, of course! for about 3 minutes!
But, recently, I got these pictures and Mary's glowing emails about how now, two years later, Fred and Ginger go outside and love it, are sweet to her cats and her.......it's a big happy family finally!
I know Nancy's smiling up there!
At one time we were up to 7 cats. Gotta love em. We don't have any now some of the Great-Grand Kids were showing signs of being alergic to cats. But we still have our two outside dogs.
My Daughter ( http://stafinois.blogspot.com/ ) works for a vet. About a week ago she thought she might have been exposed to rabies because a sick cat drew blood (hers) before it died. It was frightening because she is breast feeding her Daughter.
Don't forget to keep your pets shoots updated.
