What is the MATTER with HUCKABEE??

TOKYO (AFP) - Former US presidential contender Mike Huckabee urged his fellow Republicans on Wednesday not to denigrate Democrat Barack Obama, saying they should celebrate the historic moment of a black candidate.

Huckabee, who won the first nomination contest in Iowa on the back of support from evangelical Christians, said he hoped Republican John McCain would defeat Obama but urged his party to highlight policy differences and not race.

When asked if he thought he might be the VP nominee, he said "You can't accept an invitation to the prom until the football captain asks you. So I'm not going to go out and buy the outfit just yet," Huckabee said. Here's the whole article.

Z: Maybe I'm missing something here, but if a girl's boyfriend wasn't the football captain, Huck, then she COULD accept an invitation before the football captain invited her. I always felt you were an opportunist...THIS said a lot. And who the HECK is highlighting Obama's RACE over political differences? ANYBODY? What is the matter with you? What kind of idea does THIS plant in the heads of Americans? "Huckabee says Republicans are highlighting Obama's RACE?" Perfect,Huckabee....just perfect.

Why Race is a factor in November and its all thanks to Mr Obamas actions His personal behavor and His setting standards for our children.
Protect Us from Terrorist Try Protecting Ones own children from The hate Within America.
Are we protecting our children from hate mongores and home grown Terrorist within our own boarders? Child protection starts with Protecting Ones own children from hate Within our own homes and and communties.

Why these Double Standards Show Me Mr Obama Dont tell me!
Mr Obama said More of the same I heard "Don't do as I do but do as I say"
Bad Bad Bad Dads Obama said on Sunday in yet just another grate speach, but should one not start with ones own child or children when it comes to bad parenting?
If a man takes his own children repetely to a place be it a kkk get to geather or a church or a black panthers party any where "Any Where" where radical hatred speach is spewed out about race any race other than the childs race is that not subjecting ones own child to mental indangerment? and if so , can He this parent be trusted to advise other Men on there parenting abilitys?
Can a man not trusted to protect his own child in the past, be trusted to protect all American children from harms way?.

PS. Did Mr Obama with His actions not words say DO AS I SAY NOT AS I DO
It reminds me of yet another grate speach Mr Obama gave on race about grandma and why she said things that made Him crenge,
"IT IS BRANDED IN ONES MIND" She cant help it, but can He help it by not alowing the branding of future minds of children soon to become adults and yes grandmothers that say hatfull things.

Anthony are you serious? LOL!

I started out the primary season as a big fan of Huckabee and because he supports the FairTax.

That's one of my biggest issues. It quickly became clear that Huckabee is a political whore of the worst type. He's a total Populist pile of dog squeeze who will be a protectionist/leftist when speaking to Michigan union members, and a gun toting Bible thumper when speaking to north FL Baptists.

He's a total chameleon who's out for ONE thing: Himself.

The Huckster is the biggest reason we ended up with McCain. They ganged up on Romney in Iowa, FL, and most notably West Virginia.

then why did he even bring up the issue?

what a freakin' dolt!

Anonymous said...

Nanc are you "axing" the question, "why did the Huckster bring up the race card?"

If so, that's a simple one to answer. He and Charlie Crist are breaking their butts (in Charlie's case...)) to be
McCain's veep! Crist and Huckster are the same type of vermin, complete Populists who sway with the polls and CANNOT be trusted on any issue.

If Juan picks Charlie as his veep we will have our first VERY gay VP! Oh what fun! Every single day the FL papers run articles about gov. Crist's exploits as he tries to get on the ticket.

I can't say I was ever a Huckabee fan. Actually, during the primaries I was referring to him as Huckabooboo.

I voted for Huck, but I can't figure this out. I guess the GOP wants to play to the "let's don't hurt his (Obama) feelings" card.

Morgan, maybe I'm misreading anthonytahmpafl's comment, but I think he's on your side. He's saying Obama himself says to be a good parent but inflicting Wright and Pfleger on his very own children... ie.. HE HIMSELF was subjecting his own kids to racism!

I'm happy to have someone from the HIllary now McCain camp.......they got SMART!

Morgan, don't you think Huck's line about the prom queen said an awful lot?

Edge...cube.......can you imagine Huckabee saying these things? Waving a red flag of racism at OUR MEDIA at THIS point in the race? What is he THINKING? I hadn't seen any racism from McCains' campaign!

And Morgan...Crist is gay, for sure? Did the famous Dem outing bunch expose him or is that just a hunch? HE's so GREEN we'll be signing Kyoto TWICE if McCain picks Crist, the only candidate I'd honestly NOT VOTE McCAIN for. I have to be honest and say that I don't like Obama's choice in people and that means that, if I don't like McCain's choice in people, I'd be hypocritical to vote for him and Crist. but....we'll see.

nanc......exactly. WHY WHY WHY?

Huckabee is clearly insane.

I can't think of another explanation.

Like I even care what Mike Huckabee says or thinks...

I don't like Mike Huckabee.
I don't trust him. At all.

Z said...

the point isn't what WE think, the point is that he put this out to the media, suggesting Republicans are racist when I haven't seen a shred of proof of that in this campaign. This is not what we need out there.

With friends like Huckabee, who needs enemies?

I get frustrated that we don't realize how much the media impacts voters; I have so many friends who just push aside nastiness from the left with "who cares?" and, really, we'd better care....I wonder how many hear this stuff and come to conclusions? MANY, I'm sure.

Brooke..it does seem like insanity, honestly.

This is yet another reason why I am breaking away from Republicans.

Remember how Romney viciously slammed McCain when the two ran against each other, and after Romney dropped out, he sniffed the chance at being McCain's VP. Suddenly his tongue went straight down the back of McCain's trousers. Romney is just another sleazy, rich SOB that will do just about anything to gain power.

Huckabee is the same way. So here he is, trying to toss in the nice card again.

They are all crooked and all support the same crap we've been putting up with over the past seven years. Note I left out Bush's first year. He was stellar back then, and then suddenly became a compassionate conservative.

I'm now backing the party of real conservatives: The Constitution Party.

The rest are for neocons...if you sense you're a paleocon, maybe the CP is for you. If you think "oh but I simply MUST vote for McCain 'cause I don't want Obama to win" then someone is feeding you something you're obviously digesting well.

Huckabee was my second least pick out of the GOP field.

Just something about him I can't quite put my finger on made him come across as too wishy-washy. Especially in the area of foreign policy, my big peeve.

Americans have to stop treating politicians as if they are smarter, wiser, or more experienced than we are. Any one of us could be a politician; it’s just that we have too much self-respect. I don’t care who it is, if they are politicians, they need watching because we all know they are generally the most untrustworthy lot among us. As to Huckleberry, he simply made an issue that (as Zee pointed out) wasn’t one. McCain is avoiding race like the plague . . . and he should. He can defeat Osama based on political substance – and no amount of “makeover” is going to change Barack or Michelle into something they aren’t: America lovers.

Z said...

The FACT that Huckabee would accuse Republicans of RACISM is my point of this whole post! What HORRID ammo?

Mustang's right...what kind of self-respecting person who really appreciates his party and knows it's not at ALL racist would say this??....would give this ammo to the media just waiting for more to drool over against us??

How can this BE?

Wordsmith...good to see you here!
He always seemed like Gomer PYLE to me......wimpy. But, BOY, when he thinks he's going to sound lovable by the left, he'll get out there and talk, huh?

Z thank you for confirming exactly why I never liked that flip flop!

ANYBODY WANT TO START A LIST OF POLITICIANS YOU DON'T THINK ARE ONLY IN IT FOR THEM? I'm curious!

I think Romney had little to gain from running. He didn't need the name or the money.

... um............

I'll get back to you. YOU let me know who you'd put on a list like this !!

Here's my list.

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

Sorry, can't think of anyone else.

Well, I read lots of comments during the Huckabee craze , from folks actually from Arkansas and they all asserted that the man ruined the state Republican party.

Huckabee recently got up at an event and said some really stupid stuff about the NRA , guns and white people, playing on the stereotype thing.

I have never liked the man and thought him a big phoney.

And I have read also that Huckabee has been signed to Fox News..and now excuse me while I go hit my finger with a hammer or something.

I agree wholeheartedly. Mitt was easily the best man in the race. He was a self-made man who excelled at everything he ever tried, including politics. He wasn't quite as conservative as I would have liked, but he looks like Ronald Reagan next to the Huckster or McCain. He made them look bad and it was OBVIOUS that they hated Mitt when you saw the debates. They ganged up on him in Iowa, W.V., and Florida and cost Mitt victories in the latter two states. Jealousy was in the air.

Mitt certainly didn't need the job, and we lost a tremendous leader who would have WIPED Obama out!

Amen to that! He's a complete opportunist who CANNOT be trusted. His only guideposts are opinion polls. I have more respect for Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, and Babs Boxer. At least you KNOW where they'll come down on any given issue! They knives in the back hurt far worse.

I despise Populists.

With the ascension of McCain, Huckabee, Mel Martinez, Charlie Crist I've noticed a disturbing trend in the Republican Party. Rush calls it a "country club, blue-blood, Rockerfeller Republican, liberal coup" in the party. I wish it was just that.

It has a highly Populist odor to it, this new "phenomenon" which is grabbing the reins of our party. It's NOT old-fashioned Conservatism, that's for sure. We expect class-warfare rhetoric from the Dems, they're animals anyway. But when I hear our nominee repeatedly use class-warfare language, or one of our other top candidates, HUCKABEE & RON PAUL, speak of dark "Neocon" conspiracies to get us into war, I stand up and take notice.

Folks this has the odor of fascism! At the risk of sounding way out of bounds these aren't just "liberal" problems we're getting in our ranks, we're being infested with Populists who seek to lead a mob. There's a reason why so much of this garbage doesn't sound Conservative, it isn't.

Many of the big Huckster fans that I argued with at FPM months ago were HUGE racists and anti-Semites. You who know me best understand that's not a charge that I make lightly. That s--t already has a political home in the Dem Party, let it stay there!

I used to laugh when I heard conservatives SURE Huckabee should be our choice..the same Huckabee who ON VIDEO said "We need to bring America back to Jesus"...Ya, THAT'll sell, huh?

While I happen to think this would be a FAR more decent world should everyone return to Judeo Christian principles and goodness, but I knew the mainstream media would make mincemeat out of that statement and he couldn't win. Sad.

I agree! But I think the huckster would beat Obama. He's a FANTASTIC off-the-cuff speaker who would make mincemeat of the marxist in a debate. The objectable nature of the leftist in this contest makes ALL the difference. Call this election a TRUE missed opportunity. We could have had a great candidate in Romney handily win this election. Ughh!
