"Jobless Payments"?

Today's big news headline is SENATE APPROVES JOBLESS PAYMENTS TO MILLIONS

I was thinking that it would be so much better if we called it something else.... "Jobless payments" seems to me to give the wrong message, don't you think? As most of you who read the news in depth know, the Republicans have been maligned wrongly by the Left for having stalled on this bill. Obama's exact words from the linked article are:

"Americans who are working day and night to get back on their feet and support their families in these tough economic times deserve more than
obstruction and partisan game-playing," Obama said in a statement Wednesday night, criticizing the "roadblocks by a partisan minority"

That's loathsome, of course, and dishonesty built around influencing the November elections, because even the AP reporter admitted that..."In fact, the measure could have been passed months ago had Democrats not insisted on coupling it with a host of other, more controversial legislation, such as tax increases on hedge fund managers and on some small businesses that were used to pay to renew a popular package of tax breaks for individuals and businesses."

Yes, that paragraph is quite a ways down in the article, but it was mentioned and, as a critic of the media, I need to point out honesty in the rare instances they are honest. I'd say "Give credit where credit is due" but credit's a bit hard to get these days let alone give :-!

"Jobless Payments"...as if they're getting paid FOR being jobless. Please pray for those who can't find jobs.........That is one very difficult predicament.

To your nod on the AP article.

There was no accident here and they deserve no credit.

Most people read the top part of an article to get the abridged version and move on. This reporter knows this and buried the truth down at the bottom.

Why? He gets to push his agenda yet can show later that the article was "fair and balanced". We see clarifications or both sides of a story buried at the bottom all of the time.

Everything that BHO says and does is geared toward influencing the November elections.

I'm actually wondering if this mess with Shirley Sherrod has been played that way too.

The truth about BHO: he LOVES campaigning and is ever in campaign mode.

Obama said: "Americans who are working day and night...

Well, he ain't one of those hard workers. He parties!

And one more thing...BHO and the Dems rode the victory wave in 2008 by blaming Bush. Indeed, they have no other way of campaigning.

I don’t always agree with Michele Malkin’s take on issues, but I think she has it nailed this time. Last night she spoke about the individual who Barack Obama rolled out to convince Americans that his plan is the right one and Republicans come from the evil death star. First, what Republicans wanted is for Obama to reduce his other expenditures by 1% to pay for the extension of unemployment benefits. Typically then, Americans educated here want more free stuff —never mind how we intend to pay for it.

But the point made by Malkin is that this entire disaster was created by the government, and specifically by Obama’s decision to selectively close down auto dealerships —which is how the white dude lost his job.

Malkin did not mention the unemployed black lady —a “Real Estate Executive” who is now out of work because she no doubt helped to put individuals in housing they could not afford. Why isn’t this black lady and every other Real Estate executive who conspired to commit fraud in federal prison right now? Telling, of course, is that Obama told us this lady has had several interviews but remains unemployed. They must have been bad interviews: is the American taxpayer responsible for that as well?

I would like to see unemployment completely eliminated. But, at the very least, we could make those who receive benefits do a certain amount of community survive hours a week. Perpetually giving someone something for nothing, destroys the soul.

Smells like France in 1976. Goes downhill from there.

It's actually a stupid decision by Obmama b/c this will stabilize or increase unemployement number.

In the meantime, I freelance, pay my self employment, health insurance, work all night long like last night (still haven't been in bed), etc... Maybe I should be unemployed instead.

Chuck, I know...I mentioned how far the down the truth finally came out in my post; how right you are. Most people don't keep reading.
However, most articles don't even put the truth in at all.

Always..Sherrod's situation? ABSOLUTELY was geared to influence November. Who votes for RACISTS? The TP RACISM slam's all about that....Sherrod had to go RIGHT NOW because of the Nov election, so "Glenn Beck won't cover it"...

He loves campaigning, but mostly he likes a BIG FIGHT.

Mustang, we're responsible for anything Bush isn't responsible for, I guess :-)

Trestin, 'something for nothing 'destroys the soul' after a while, look at Socialist E Germany, but we teach differently here and O seems to be making it as easy and beguiling as possible to Americans. "why WORK?"

FB, I can imagine you feel like that and can't blame you

Reminds me of 'earned income tax credit'. How about 'UNEARNED income tax GIVEAWAY'. Call it what it is.

See the news.

Geniuses! Einsteins!

That's what you get when you increase welfare. Most of people in France find work when? When their unemployement is about to run out.

Get used to 10% unemployement people. That's done. Less people paying taxes and producing will sink the economy even more.

Breaking news.....

"MADISON, Wis. – A legislative candidate from Wisconsin can't use a profane, racially charged phrase to describe herself on the ballot, an election oversight board decided Wednesday.
Ieshuh Griffin, an independent running for a downtown Milwaukee seat in the state Assembly, wants to use the phrase, "NOT the 'whiteman's b----.'"

And...she's defending it!!!! Read for yourself of another racist who has no shame in proving it!

Major ...

If she were completely honest, she'd run as "Not the white progressive's b****."

But in fairness, she probably isn't aware of the true history of progressivism in America. If she were aware of it, she could not in good conscience be a Democrat (aka communist).

Ooops ... I take that back. Jackson/Sharpton know the truth and they're both communists. But, they're in it for the money. Go figger.

FB...children are in charge and this is what happens with inexperience and nasty agendas.
But, no worries..there are PLENTY of jobs in government....and they use those ridiculous numbers to show JOB GROWTH. So, come to think of it, it's inexperience, nasty, childlike and dishonest. Or maybe just stupid.
