Germany........a chance to get away, if only in pictures

Wouldn't you love to be sitting here........
..........and seeing this?
Ms. Z took these in Germany the other day and I had to share them with you............
Nice, huh?
I hope you enjoy them and your day......I figured a nice restful blog might be a good idea today.
And I hope you've got the time to read the email below; that's uplifting, too......

Beautiful scenery and beautiful photos.

When I see such pictures it reminds me much of East Tennessee and SW Virginia during this time of the year.

The pictures and the mountains are indeed beautiful.

I was stationed in Bavaria as a U.S. Army enlisted guy way back when, and had the opportunity to see first hand what a gorgeous country it is, particularly around the area where Mad King Ludwig built his castles, Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein. Simply beautiful.

Oh my! I am so tired of the city life and those look good.
And I love Germany for that aspect. Even cities are different.

And I love the sausage, the wurst, the beer. Even their soccer championship rocks.

I could see myself move there if I had to go back to Europe.

Great pics. They remind me of North Georgia and the Blue Ridge mountains.

Definitely God's Country. So relaxing just to look at those images.
I like LI for the reason that we are only a few hours away from The Catskills(more God's Country), about an hour from East end Wineries and Farmlands with many summer and fall festivals and the best of all 30 minutes from many beaches.

It is nice, looking at these photos, Z.

Like some of the others, I am reminded of other places that I miss.

It looks very much like down home, and up here, too, really.

I especially like this time of year, anyway...it's probably my favorite season.

I had forgotten how beautiful Germany is.

It was such a wonderful experience living there.

Thank you for that peaceful respite from the daily grind of politics.

Thanks for the memories of my stay in Germany. Just as beautiful as I remember it.

The first one looks like Tuscany. OOOOHHHHHH how I miss Italy.

Tell me where in Germany the first one was taken. Maybe if I ever get back to Europe, I can make it there.

We were stationed there too. Beautiful place, nice people and excellent beer, wine and food!

It tis a tad expensive, though. Imagine paying 6 to 8 dollars for a gallon of gas, and a 20% tax on everything!

Rita....the stepkids who took these shots were in : Spitzingsee/ Obere Firstalm

I'm glad so many of you had positive experiences in Germany....I lived there for about a year, on and off, a few months at a time (and traveled a LOT to Italy, Rita!),and loved it.

FrogBurger, I think if I was to move to Europe, which I've considered, it would be Munich, even as much as I LOVED LIVING IN PARIS for four years.
The winters, notsomuch, but the rest of the year, Munich is sort of the perfect town for me; perfect size, great people, wonderful food, etc........and I have family (thru my husband) and friends there.

An odd thing I've never shared here is that my mother's side lived in Istanbul for many generations (tho we're Armenians, not Turks...my family escaped the massacres because Istanbul wasn't hit AS badly as the villages were and the family was well connected...Dad's family was pretty much annihilated by the Turks and Kurds who moved into their homes taking over everything they owned) and her dad's two brothers went to the SOrbonne and the U of Munich. Odd that her daughter (ME) would end of living in Paris (My great uncle lived his life there and apparently died there) and Munich(my husband went to the same university)...

It never happens here!

Imp, it even happens here in certain areas in L.A......I go out of my way to go down Barrington Avenue in West LA because there's a quarter mile of maple trees that turn gorgeous colors in the Fall!
