IMAGINE if FOX had done this?

This aired around September 9, 2011.  It's only a very few minutes and don't stop watching until you hear a rapper singing.......it's AWFUL, and I would like to know what you think.  Why would CNN even have this music cued?  Had any of you heard about this?

And oh, yes....mistakes are aired, it does happen.  But do you think you might have heard about this if FOX had done it? :-)   Ya, I think so, too.

Z, That isn't the "song" that was played at the end of that story. The video has been doctored.

The music that actually aired was Coolio's "Fantastic Voyage". They meant to play the chorus, ""Come along and ride on a fantastic voyage". Instead, they played a part with the lyrics, "punk ass nigga".

The video didn't need to be phonied up, the original was bad enough. Incredibly stupid, on many levels, for CNN's to use a Coolio song in a story about a 103 year old driver. I guess, 'cause the woman is black and down with Coolio. Idiots.

I don't want to start an argument with you on this, but CNN is hardly a tool of the Left. They caught heat on this from both sides.

Hope you're doing well, Z. I still read your blog once in a while.

Almost forgot. This happened in May, 2010. You might want to change that. Just trying to help. Honest.

Sounds like the undoctored wasn't much better, and getting "heat" from both sides is not the same response Fox would have received. I assume CNN is still on the air?

So, why doctor it?

and getting "heat" from both sides is not the same response Fox would have received.

So true. Crickets from the Right.

Regardless, why would they even play any rap song to accompany a story about a 103 year old lady?

That's not her generation's music!

I hadn't heard about this. I agree, why play any music? She should not be driving, but that is just my opinion.

The double standard is obvious. Only "conservatives" are racists, right? While neither side is exempt, the left is far more racist than any thing I've seen on the right. Margaret Sanger was filth, yet she continues to be Hillary Clinton's hero and an icon of the Democratic Progressive Socialist Party. Why is that okay?

I should take this down because I NEVER want anything that's not factual at geeeeZ, but I'm curious, Craig, about where the big heat is from the Left?

And why did CNN wait twenty-five minutes to apologize for it? That struck me as odd.

DaBlade's right...I emailed either Mustang or Pris last night saying that I'm quite sure FOX would have been taken off the air had this happened on their station. The onslaught would have been amazing.

I agree with Silvefiddle that I'd have thought some Big Band music that fit the story might have been more appropriate than rap for this 103 year old woman (who looks seventy!)

Linda, there's no WAY she should be driving. I have a 93 year old very dear friend who drove me to her beach club on Pacific Coast Highway a few weeks ago and I swear I thought I was going to die when she insisted she drive and we started down her winding hill to the beach with her holding the steering wheel and driving left/right/left/right....I just had to pray that when she was 'righting' there weren't any cars parked on our right!

Mustang; Margaret Sanger...one of THE most incredible whitewashes (you should pardon the expression) in present history.

Thanks, Craig, I'm doing well.

My Mother is 91 years old and she still drives, too.

Sorry, but I didn't hear anyone singing. I heard someone repeating the word, "nigga" over and over, but there was no singing to it. Rappers don't sing. They recite incredibly bad poetry with drums and bass in the background.

Please don't insult anyone's intelligence by referring to what rappers do as "singing".

Fox doesn't even have to do anything and they are accused of racism. Just ask that intellect Jeanine Garafolo who says supporting Herman Cain is racist.
You know damned if you do,damned if you don't..

I'd like to know why this crap is ever released in the first place.
It's so disgusting, and lowers standards to the gutter, IMO.

Why is it acceptable because a black guy is singing it? Just another example of totally insulting, gutter talk junk!

To get back to the topic, why is this is even available to play on CNN? A mistake couldn't have been made if it wasn't available to play.

Mark is right, this is not music. It's a way for no talent people to talk filth, and prosper from it.

It did happen. A black guest named Niger had an unfortunate typo in his name in the crawler.

Huffington put up the video and it never made it any further. Unfortunate but no big deal.

One quick question:

In this age of digital electronics, how is it POSSIBLE that -- whatever rap song contains the insightful lyrics NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER -- it was even REMOTELY "cued up" on their computer, much less even IN their computer?

A song like that isn't simply snatched out of the ozone and placed onto a hard drive of that affiliate or network. Because those sound bites/songs are sourced out of very specific digital folders and then CALLED FOR by the director of the segment.

How does THAT happen?

Only one answer:

With PURPOSE.

On a lighter note, all the words rhymed. That's refreshing!
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such kind sentiments.

Sorry, Mark, I quite like some rap..I love the beat and the unison singing... I don't own any but I love it in the radio and have been to a lot of very hip weddings, mostly white, where really good rap was 'sung' :-)
Be careful about your mother's driving; my friend's sons don't know she got lost on her way home that night with me and I had to help her return (she has no dementia) and I'm still considering whether to tell them that and how hectic her driving patterns are.

Pris, I asked that same question somewhere on this....why did CNN have it cued up at ALL?

Ducky, you missed the whole point. The point is how they'd have covered this had FOX done it. And you know very well it could have had the Imus affect and they could have been closed down.

BZ>..I see you caught that same thing; incredible, isn't it. SOMEWHERE< CNN has that stuff cued somewhere...why?

The poop would have hit the fan if FOX News would have made such an error.

Couldn't they have just posted a nice classical tune? Why the rap music? Just saying...

It wasn't.

Z, you know what BZ heard on the video you posted isn't what was played on CNN. What gives?

If Fox did this you can be sure it would have been followed by a string of lies, lol!

Z said...

Craig, what gives? What's the problem?
Either song stinks, I don't approve of the N word by anyone TO anyone......and BZ picked up exactly the point you should have, too, frankly; why do they have ANY song cued with language like that in it?
SImple!

liberaldude, 'string of lies'? and you think that would have helped FOX? :-) Lies don't work for Republicans because the media's going to slam them in any way possible.
and stop with the "lol"...it makes you seem even more immature and clueless. thanks.
