Pakistan and Iran; are they ALL smarter than we are now?

Pakistan is ordering us OUT.   Yes, they want our 'secretive CIA' drone base closed.  And they are 'reviewing their alliance' with us.  Are you kidding me?   THEY are reviewing their alliance?  Countries didn't seem to push America quite so insultingly in the past, did they?  It almost sounds like they feel they're equal to our country and have absolutely no fear of any kind of reprisal.  The whole article sounds like it's all our fault, of course, until you finally read way down and the authors actually review some of the problems between America and Pakistan and at least suggest that all of Pakistan's complaints might not quite be valid.

Do you think Pakistan would be quite this pushy had Bush stayed in office and if they didn't know so well how our military's so badly threatened with defense cuts?    HOW much money do we give Pakistan?  It's horrid that innocent people might have been killed, but is this the appropriate response?

How do you think Obama will respond?  How would YOU respond?

AND THEN THERE'S THIS.........are they ALL smarter and more cunning than we are now?  It appears so.

Z - I say let's nuke 'em from
orbit.

It's the only way to be sure.

Obama will crawl under rock after he points the blame on someone else. Or he will go and kiss up to them and apologize for America's arrogance.

I hope that many American corporations that use Pakistani people for sales calls will fire them all and hire Americans only.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Sue, I suppose you're being sarcastic........
but yes, it's the only way to be sure as Pakistan's pretty nuked up by now.

I believe we're unsafe because we've allowed ourselves to believe 'they deserve them too' when we know pretty well 'they' only mean trouble with their nukes. Since we've lost our great superiority and the high road leftwingers have demolished, we're in very bad trouble and so's everyone else in the world.

Leticia, good advice about firing all Pakistan firms. How's about stopping all aid?

We need to get out, and take our money with us. Now. Afghanistan included. Afghanistan and Pakistan deserved to be ruled by 7th century Taliban.

Z - nah - I'm not being sarcastic.

that's a quote from Aliens and I just thought it was a good time to use it.

The truth is - let Pakistan kick us out - but when we get back on our feet they will want to be friends again.

And yes Silverfiddle - I agree that we should pull out of Afghanistan too. Now.

Preferably before Christmas.

And if they want our troops to come back - well then they can pay us.

Yeah, the nerve of those Muslims. They'll do as they're told and lie it.

Fact of the matter is z, they can make life pretty damn miserable for troops in Afghanistan any time they like.Which is why we really shouldn't kill a couple dozen of their troops.

Let's bring the overt and covert assistance home...along with the billions in foreign aid...

If Pakistan kicks us out, that's OK. We will survive the experience, and that may hasten a retrospective on the culpability of Pakistan in the global jihad movement.

Also, we really need to know how we killed the twenty or so Pakistani troops. It should not have happened. Even at that, we don't owe those muslims anything because they have been of little help. They are complicit in establishing the Taliban and protecting Osama Bin Laden.

So, are you all saying, let them form their Caliphate? Because if we totally back out too soon, this will happen sooner than later.

They will have won, and we would have sacrificed treasure, and more importantly blood of our brave men and women for what, nothing?

And why? Because we don't have the fortitude to confront the butchers any longer?

Leaving Afghanistan too soon won't end the aggression from Iran or any Islamic country, certainly not the Jihadists, it will embolden them. They understand and respect only one thing, and that's strength.

Obama has to be defeated, or we will be even more vulnerable than we are now.

Our not being there will not protect us, we will be seen as a paper tiger, which is an invitation to more aggression, not less.

If they in fact do push us out, where o they turn for their next alliance, and what will THAT cost them?

This is not so simple for them as they might think.

I'm with Silverfiddle. Get out. Spend the money to be ready if something big comes up and rule the world with an iron fist if needed.

'rule the world?'

We're talking about an administration that promptly lost air basing priviledges in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan within a few months of taking office, forcing NATO to run supplies through Taliban-controlled parts of Pakistan.

We're talking about a State Department that paid millions of dollars to someone they though was a Taliban negotiator.

We're talking about a President that is in way over his head.

One good thing... we pull out of Pakistan and Afghanistan, we have no real pressing reason to keep Israel from spanking Iran.

Or India from spanking Pakistan.

I'm completely torn between Pris's "we can't leave now" and (more commonly, I feel this way) "Get the HELL OUT NOW!"

Beamish...I agree with you on all counts.

'rule the world?'

I was a bit dramatic.

I meant: if someone attacks us, then they get the big hammer. And that threat has to be known.

From that angle, Beamish is right. Being in Iraq and Afghanistan is quite convenient if Iran misbehaves b/c Iran would be stuck in between.

On the contrary, our presence in Iraq makes an Israeli strike on Iran difficult (but not impossible) just as our presence in Afghanistan makes an Indian strike on Pakistan difficult (but not impossible). If we get out of the way, all sorts of reality becomes lethal for both Iran and Pakistan.

Does any one know if the UAE is still giving Israel air basing priviledges for their fuel tanker planes? It was a strategic game changer a few years ago, giving Israel fighter-bombers the range and capability of hitting anything in Iran at anytime, all day long. I've never heard about this deal ever being revoked...

Frogburger - If someone attacks us they most certainly will get the
boot in their *ass.

But we must not send out a message that we are looking for someone's
*** to put our boot in. :)

B..I'd never heard of a more uncommon alliance and never heard it was broken; good point.

And I say, our presence in Iraq and Afghanistan makes it difficult for Iran to have free reign over the region.

Israel is our ally. Does anyone really think we can just watch from afar?

To my way of thinking, our being there if Israel does strike Iran's nuclear facilities, would be an impediment to Iran's actions.

We must be prepared to back up Israel if necessary. Countries like Saudi Arabia, and Jordan, are as concerned about Iran's having nuclear weapons as Israel,
the US and Europe are btw.

Our cutting and running isn't the answer. It will heighten tensions in the ME, and we will appear to be weak and loathe to be involved, leaving Israel high and dry! We have to have a presence in the ME.

And it's because twerps, weenies and cowards like you who don't like to fight...restrain our troops from doing what they know how to do. You fags call them gun loons...right....what do you suggest duckSIS? A flower in their AK47's? A hug? You really are the most hateful of everything America aren't ya duck?

You swarmy little POS. Choke on a bone.

Perhaps under a more mature and rational command, but instead of that we have Obama. Personally, if I were an Iranian military commander I'd be laughing my ass off.

And if I were an Israeli military commander, I'd be saying "F*ck America. Let's do this ourselves."

One day America will stop putting a political party that can't even stop the increase of wanton criminality in an American city in charge of international policy.
