Turkey APOLOGIZES for KILLINGS? :)

THIS is so rich in irony there is no more commentary needed.
Unbelievable.  By the way, had you ever even learned of the Armenian massacres by the Turks?  I'm curious;  many quite intelligent people I know have never heard of it.

Muslims will apologize for killing other Muslims. Sometimes.

Before Duck quacks about my comment, yes, I do realize that not all Kurds are Muslims.

BTW, there is a political twist to Erdogan's apology:

...Erdogan has impeccable political instincts and clearly smells blood, issuing his Dersim apology at a time when the CHP appears to be floundering and, more relevantly, finds itself with an internal divide on how to deal with the issue of the Dersim massacres....

More at the above link.

When I heard that Iran has threatened to launch missiles at our "NATO ally" ::cough cough:: Turkey if Israel attacks their nuclear sites, I had to shrug off the urge to advocate giving Iran missile targeting technology as long as they can guarantee massive Turkish casualties.

Not that I despise Turks or anything.

Ah Beamish is showing his Christian side today.

This would be almost funny if not for the 1.5 million ethnic Turks in Iran that would assist the 7th largest military in the world (belonging to Turkey) if Iran's bluster ever escalated to your levels.

Speedy G said...

Just because you'd goose step America's seniors to the border like Kamal Attaturk did to the Greeks/Armenians doesn't make you any better than him, Beamish. In fact, you have a lot in common with him.

Speedy G said...

"Expel the elderly."

Catchy slogan, beamish!

Speedy G said...

1.5 million Armenian deaths is nothing compared to the "Beamish Plan to genocide America's elderly". He's already got 4 million 80+ year olds on his "Death List" with another 7 million 65+ year olds on deck for the euthanasia chamber.

Beamish, I thought that was a really clever move of Iran. It REALLY jeopardizes a lot in the region and I wish Americans were hearing more of it. Ya, pit countries against each other so you can be protected. This Iranian regime is filth.

Ducky, you want to explain to us all what's Christian about Beamish?

So, the big liberal (our media) push will be to build Newt up....attracting moderate Republicans to the primaries to vote for Newt. @#(*&@#(*&

Ah, beamish, ever the victim. But what's to become of beamishes victims? The millions of elderly and disabled that he would deny SS and Medicare benefits to in the vain hope that "rich people" would undoubtedly contribute more to charity if the government simply dumped the care and welfare of 40 million Americans into their laps, tomorrow.

Great plan, beamish. You're the victim.

I'm sure that'll get the Teabaggers in Romney's corner, if they can stomach moving a little to the right of Herman Cain and Donald Trump.

For Newt's part, he agreed to let Obama bring his teleprompter to the debate.

But beamish, if you were really concerned about your sock puppet's reputation being libelled, why don't you just let him recant your stated intention to genocide elderly Americans much as Attaturk genocided his socially undesirables? An apology long after the fact is NOT going to do.

In faith to the "fusion conservative" credo: "Socialize losses, Privatize Gains".

Z said...

George, welcome to GeeeZ : just hang in there...our Comments pages are usually a little more civil than this.
You'd never heard that 1.5 Armenians were massacred by the Turks in the very early 1900's?
I don't think that means you're not intelligent; it just means it hasn't seemed important enough to American textbooks, I guess.
I never learned it in textbooks or heard about it in school, either, but my family was involved in it so I've been interested, though those involved were still too full of pain to lay it on us grandchildren and my parents didn't feel we should blame Turks today for the sins of their ancestors.
Seeing how Hrant Dick was killed and the new implications that the Turkish gov't was involved after all, I'm not so sure.
THough I had a lovely Turkish friend in Paris, and she can't be the only one!

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

But beamish, if you were really concerned about your sock puppet's reputation being libelled, why don't you just let him recant your stated intention to genocide elderly Americans

Because such "stated intention" occured only in your delusional mind, Denise.

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

What do you think should happen to elderly parents when they've had a stroke and are facing years of full time care that costs hundreds of thousands a year?

What do you think should happen to people who've got a driver's license and want a $3.5 Million Bugatti Veyron?

Seriously, we should look at reducing medical costs. The primary generator of increased medical costs in America has been the rife-with-fraud Medicare system. Obamacare's going to make the Medicare national debt generators look like peanuts.

We should seek ways to increase the amount of money people have in their own hands to purchase health care. Reduce their tax burdens. Give their children tax deductions to claim them as dependents. Offer larger tax breaks to corporations and businesses that contribute to charity for the truly needy.

All sorts of ways to dismantle Denise's beloved socialist Ponzi schemes without real risk of injuring anyone.

Or, we can defend Obamacare to the last possible national credit rating reduction and scream bloody murder at real solutions like sissy boy Denise.

One's right, and the other... left.

Speedy G said...

Because such "stated intention" occured only in your delusional mind, Denise.

Is it? You proposed ending Medicare and Social Security and allowing private charities to take up the slack. Asked whether there should be a transition period to private charities, you stated that any such plan was a "whole bag of not my problem." Given that your plan would affect nearly 40 million Americans, 30% of whom rely on these benefits to provide in excess of 90+% of the daily sustenance, I believe that I could guarantee that millions of Americans would not likely survive the transition. Especially given the fact that the top 400 charities in the USA only dispense $68b in donations (and who knows what % of that are fund raising costs), and the current Social Security/Medicare system that you propose eliminating costs the American people $1.5 trillion in direct (SS) and indirect (Medicare) benefits.

Speedy G said...

Nice shopping bag of options, grandma killer. Why noy put some real numbers together and develop a plan?

Oh, wait, that's all just a "whole bag of not your problem."

Uncle Sam has his hands in your pocket. THAT simple fact, makes it your problem.

And until you do, you're an irresponsible grandma killer in my book, beamish.

Oh, and why don't you toss in a few cracks at the Tea Party for supporting the socialist "Ryan Plan" for good measure.

Z asked:

What do you think should happen to elderly parents when they've had a stroke and are facing years of full time care that costs hundreds of thousands a year?

That's a very good question.

And as I know to my everlasting horror, it is not only the elderly who have strokes.

In fact, in addition to Mr. AOW, I personally know a 13-year-old who had a massive brain hemorrhage. He nearly maxxed out his parents' insurance policy to the point that nothing is left for the treatment of the next-oldest son in kidney failure; this boy in kidney failure is 14 year old. It's only a matter of time before the entire family is out on the street. I can't imagine that this family will be able to keep their house.

So, maybe the family has bad genes. Do we just look away and let them die?

This family has strong connections with a church. Nobody is stepping up to help.

Ducky's here said...

Beamish has often stood in judgement on who is Christian and who is not. Catholics are NOT.

He's in a pretty strange place that's tough to completely understand but the God of vengeance is his foundation.

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

Uncle Sam has his hands in your pocket. THAT simple fact, makes it your problem.

And over 20% of the dollars Uncle Sam takes out of my pocket for Medicare alone winds up subsidizing fraud, waste, and abuse. Another 10+% of those dollars goes towards government officials "administering" Medicare to that 20+% fraud. Now we're up to some 30+% of the "costs" of your beloved Ponzi scheme not even going to help anyone.

That's all fraud, waste, and abuse that wouldn't occur if Uncle Sam got out of the "providing welfare" business. Guess who gets a medical cost increase to cover that huge loss? Everybody.

And until you do, you're an irresponsible grandma killer in my book, beamish.

Try to color in the lines so Mommy will put that page from your book on the refridgerator, Denise.

Catholicism is a polytheistic religion some 300 years younger than Christianity, with over 10,000+ allegedly omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent "saints" believed to hear and intercede upon prayers offered to them.

I've not engaged in theological ramblings in quite some time, but I believe God disdains those who bear false witness. I take the "Haiti deserved an earthquake because of Voodoo" God-of-vengence crowd to task whenever they pop up.

What is this, "all leftists rally to smear Beamish" day?

Why don't you and your boyfriend Denise go circle jerk to a Slavoj Žižek seminar on snot wiping?

Pris said...

Z, I had heard of the Turk's genocide of Armenians, but I learned more about it from you, and what your family endured.

I admire your parent's approach, in teaching their children about this. It's difficult for descendants to put such a horror behind you, I know. It's never forgotten, and part of who you are, and your family history.

It's yet another case of, we should never forget. It should be discussed, to show how humankind can lose their moorings, and put aside all reason and become nothing more than hate filled animals, as the Turks did.

History does repeat itself, regardless of the lessons learned.

Z said...

Beamish, I can't disagree with your ideas, I just think you're naive in the timing.

Ducky, the "God of Vengeance" should be every CHristian's foundation because the Bible shows PLENTY of vengeance and none of that vengeance is greater than the love He has for all of us........and the plans He has for us for eternal life.
Sometimes I wonder if you slam Calvinism and ANY non-Catholic Christian so badly because you don't quite understand that and haven't read the Scripture with enough good teachers?

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

Beamish, I can't disagree with your ideas, I just think you're naive in the timing.

Naive?! We still have around 5 years of the Baby Boomer cardinal doctrines of procrastination and sloth left before doing nothing about Social Security retirement and disability insolvency is economically lethal to America.

(Plenty of time for Demogogue Denise to have his fellow gay leftists film more absurd commercials about the elderly being pushed in their wheelchairs over cliffs to silence reformers and alarmists.)

Scare the seniors is all the pathetic leftists (i.e. FJ) ever had. It's a threadbare playbook by now.

Speedy G said...

Trying to scare the fusion conservatives, beamish? When have I ever stated that I was for "doing nothing"? Evidently you have no problem with hyperbole, it's all a matter of WHO's doing the projecting. You stuff a scarecrow, while I quote him directly.

...eliminating Social Security retirement and disability insurance without a transition plan is MOST CERTAINLY lethal to America's seniors.

Of course, a chance for you to save your own *ss and retirement is materializing, temporarily... but you won't embrace it because you're an ideologue. You keep holding out for a whole loaf when only half a loaf has been baked.

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

Why do I suddenly feel like I've just watched a marathon of Real Housewives of Whatever County?

Probably because Denise has no life.

Or maybe it's the $1.5 Trillion in entitlement programs that Z thinks Uncle Sam spends exclusively on stroke patients.

Z said...

Beamish, I've never known you to use such tactics; you're sounding like Ducky.
In the past, you've been wrong, you've been naive, you've been argumentative(which is fine), but you've rarely said silly stuff like "Z thinks Uncle Sam spends exclusively on stroke patients."

Because I use that as an example, I ONLY think Uncle Sam spends money on stroke victims? What's the matter with you lately?

Z said...

Okay, Beamish...remind us again how your grandmother would make out with...let's call it Lou Gehrig's disease now, if that feels better to you.
She's in a home because she's far too sick to have at anybody's house and she has 24/7 nursing care, excellent doctors and nurses, and, with medications and tests, etc., it's running about $200K a year.

I think that's a pretty legitimate question.

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

I suppose my grandmother (who lives in one of her five homes and rents out the other four) would raise the rents she charges and throw multiple child families out on the streets, then sell the houses.

What, you were expecting someone like my grandmother who worked all her life for what she has to just kneel and beg for government handouts?

What's up with you leftists anyway, always wanting a disease you can't afford?

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

What if entitlements were instead NEEDS based, rather than quota based?

You know, spend the money only on people who need it?

Do we really have a need to spend $1.5 Trillion a year on entitlements with another $126 TRILLION in future commitments to "unfunded mandates?"

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

I mean sure, spending such keeps Denise's grandma alive so he can live online and make fart noises, but shouldn't the productive people footing the bill have a say?
