Russian Olympics

Russia's getting the '14 Olympics in a town near Georgia...there is no infrastructure and it's remote...Show Russia they can be stopped. If you don't like the idea, sign the petition at this link.

I am absolutely for this move (and have signed), particularly considering the Russian activities in Georgia specifically and elsewhere in general, and because of the fact that the IOC has chosen Sochi in a bidding war (who can bribe best).

Right now, there is another war going on: Between the Arabs and the Russians about who finds them more in-our-face way to throw OUR money around.

I wonder what exactly about Russia makes it so deserving of the '14 Olympics? Great idea about the petition. Hope they're listening.

I can think of at least three places that would better sit the purposes of the International Olympic Committee–––Tehran, Mogadishu, Darfur. A poor fourth might be Islamabad.

Come to think of it ANWR would be a smashing choice.

Or how about CARACAS?

Wheeeeeeeeeee!!!

Relax, by the time the affirmative action dream, Condo Rice (R - Over her head) and Lieberman (R - Tel Aviv) and Graham (R - In the Closet) get finished with Russia there won't be anything left.

The Bear will be begging for mercy when Condo lays down the law and Joe and Lindsay give them a little "Straight Talk Express".

Today's Lyrics:

Warlike Lads of Russia
(written by: Traditional Arrangement)

When Napoleon Bonaparte to Moscow he went, with all his troops and all his men his mind was heavy bent. To take the Russian country now they were full employed, but the Russians fought against them and they soon did them destroy

T'was in a little while that the Russians did attack, against Bonaparte and all his men they fought them and they drove them back. The action being so hot left and right and front and rear, oh damn you all says Bonaparte I'll stay no longer here.

Chorus
Those warlike lads of Russia they fought all in one mind, made Bonaparte to run and leave his troops behind. Those warlike lads of Russia they fought all in one mind, made Bonaparte to run and leave his troops behind.

Away then went poor Bonaparte as fast as he could run. The poor Frenchmen looked after him he left horses, cannon, guns. His boxes and his matches, ammunition wagons too, he left them all behind him well what could poor Boney do?

Away then went poor Bonaparte as fast as he could ride, the poor Frenchmen looked after him saying oh its very hard. To think he'd take us all out here to leave us to our fate, you'd think he'd ride along with us to help up in our state

Chorus

Here's twenty thousand men that they have killed and they have taken, likewise ten thousand horses and two hundred bits of cannon. No more to Paris, Lyon or French Flanders I'll advance, for if I do I'm sure to know they'll teach me how to dance

And its now to conclude and to finish up this song, the poor Frenchmen in Russia they wish they had a hold of him. The cruelest death they'd put him through to e're a man befall. Oh damn you all says Bonaparte I'm clear of you all!

Chorus

Ducky.."in the closet" there you go again..just can't STAND anybody have their privacy, WHY?

As for Russia: What's wrong with US doing it to them FIRST? THEY"re picking the fight, not us..And to be short sighted enough to think that they won't bug us after they've taken over all the 'stans again is NUTS.

What I only hear in the German press is that they've blocked off gas to many 'stans just cuz they won't dance to their song. This can't be happening.

Russia's not changed..we need to remember that and act accordingly.

As for your lyrics; from what I've heard and read, there are no more brutal fighters than Russians.

I signed the petition, but I think we should have gone further.

If I were President, I'd have already severed diplomatic and economic ties with Russia, and vacated all treaties signed with them, as they were signed in agreement with a country the United States no longer recognizes as a sovereign entity.

Then we start severing ties with countries that don't applause our actions.

What was THAT, Ducky?

Sounds like an inept imitation of Robert W. Service.

I hope YOU didn't make it up? I would expect better from you.

Sorry, Z. I don't get the "closet" bit? Was there an inference that "The imperial impersonation of force and murder known as Napoleon the Great" was really a flaming queen?

None of this makes any sense to staid old me.

Is it The Post-Modern Mind or simply Da-da-ism?

Wonder why this issue didn't attract more attention?

I hate giving ANY kind of "recognition" to our ideological enemies–––except to "recognize" and tell the world how rotten they are.

This current trend of legitimizing the status of the unacceptable is hideous.

FT...Ducky and I had a chat about how the Left likes to out gays more than the right ever dreamt of doing..the big 'open minded' party, yet so intent on bringing people out of the closet who are just as happy as they can be where they are. that's all..

"expect better from me?" WHAT?
