SARAH PALIN, VICE PRES NOMINEE

I AM SO HAPPY ABOUT THIS.............how about you??

Now, I have to admit I am happy but can only base that on what I know about her (which is little) and how this reflects on Hillary and the women vote.

Anybody got any info on Palin? Share it here...let's collect as much as we know. May not be much at this date, BUT, it sure was a maverick, wise and exciting move!

HURRAH! (having said all that, I don't want anyone voting for Obama just because he's Black any more than I want people voting for McCain because he's picked a woman..........BUT.........if she's smart, independent, tough and shares our values.......SHE'S THE ONE. McCain needs to show all of that.....don't you think?)

What little I know about her is very, very positive. I think McCain pulled off a real political coup. Of course the left is going to go ballistic about how he "cynically chose a woman" or some similar nonsense.

Nikki said...

Z, a guy of FOX just said "anyone who questions her toughness should go to Alaska and see the dead bodies of those who have crossed Sarah Palin"...also she has an approval rating of 80%! 5 children and a stay at home husband! woohoo! Joe Biden doesn't scare her like the libs on CNN are pushing. :)N

elmers brother said...

this is huge - my own mother, a yellow dog democrat, one who voted for Biden in the primary, but wasn't going to vote for Obama until he picked Biden....calls me up this morning and says

Did you see where your guy picked a woman for a vice president?

She said she is now seriously considering voting for McCain. You don't knw HOW HUGE this is.

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

Now it's not about race or age, but about ideology.

McCain and Palin are going to destroy the Democrat pikers.

Ducky's here said...

I can't wait till the 44 year old former beauty queen debates Joe Biden on foreign policy.

He'll kick her teeth in.

Anti-choice and she loves to fellate big oil. Plus she removes a lot of the inexperience issue against Obama.

Incredibly stupid choice. Nobody else wanted to be on the ticket with the loser most likely.

Z said...

Thanks, everybody..this is THE BEST choice, and I'm glad you all think so, too!!

Ducky...sorry you get it so wrong. And, this has nothing to DO with 'fellatio'...try to focus.
you're sounding as nervous as the Obama people are sounding already. I think America will be better off with a PRESIDENT with more experience than his running mate, not the opposite, shouldn't you?! Of course you should, Ducky....come on! Come oooooon. smile....you'll have someone with REAL experience in charge now, you should be grinning for our country!

Elbro; HUGE!! HURRAH, ELBRO MOM!! LOTS AND LOTS of MOMS are thinking that same thing...

GREAT choice.

What do you guys know..? Played hockey, has 5 kids, latest born down syndrome (she adores him), got rid of the 'company jet' and got rid of security when she became governor, she drives a Black SUV around, apparently....i'm eager to know more about Sarah..

Sarah.........SMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILE

How did the Reps pull it out to nominate a woman on the day women got the right to vote? Boy, and I thought Obama speaking on MLKs great speech was good!

I hope you all listened ....i am now...her speech is incredible.

GOOD mentioning Geraldine Ferraro and H Clinton........very nice touch.

THis woman is REAL CHANGE!!

i can FINALLY get behind mccain!

thank God - i was tired of being the blog pariah.

careful there, nikki - palin's a homeschool nazi. would now be a good time for you to flip-flop?

Ducky's here said...

He nominates the female Rick Santorum (what is Little Ricky Retardo doing these days?) as VP and that's all it takes, nanc?

heidianne jackson said...

i have been a fan of palin for quite a while now. i have some good friends in alaska and they have been behind her since she began her run for governor. i've been hoping against hope that he would pick palin since the start of the "assumed nominee" stage fo mccain.

heck, i even had to call defiant infidel this morning and give him grief because even last weekend he was CERTAIN mccain wouldn't pick sarah 'the barracuda' palin. sort of made my day! but then, i am easily amused...

this is an excerpt from what i just received from the mccain camp announcing for those who didn't yet know:

"Sarah Palin is a trailblazer and a reformer. As the first female governor of Alaska, she challenged a corrupt system and has been a tireless advocate for reform - passing a landmark bill on ethics reform. She has taken on the old politics in Alaska and reformed the state's energy industry. She rejects wasteful pork barrel spending. She's fearless - exactly the type of leader I want at my side and the type of leadership we will bring to Washington.

My friends, together Sarah Palin and I make the strongest presidential ticket and I know that she joins me in asking for your support as we head into our Convention week in Minnesota. We're shaking things up in this campaign - and Governor Palin and I are ready to bring real reform to Washington."

this is soooo awesome!

Sarah Palin is an EXCEPTIONAL choice for Vice President …

Consider that the approval rating for members of Congress is 9% … and the reason for that is simple. Congress isn’t performing to OUR expectations. These people include party paragons such as Pelosi, Reid, Biden, Clinton, Obama, Murtha, Kucinich, Schumer, Kennedy and a host of others who deign to take America toward the European Socialist/Communist political model. We the [thinking] people of America reject this. We much prefer national leaders who place COUNTRY FIRST. That neither Republicans nor Democrats have ever figured this out speaks volumes about the kind of idiots we’ve elected to the Congress.

All of this changes effective right now. Of course, we have already heard from some liberal nitwits, attacking Palin’s bona fides … and this simply underscores their idiocy. As a governor, she has a great deal of “foreign policy” experience. As Alaska’s governor and commander in chief of the National Guard, she more executive experience than either Obama or Biden. Finally, given the idiocy spewing from Biden’s mouth in the past [suggesting that the US give Iran $200 million to show that we aren’t anti-Arab … apparently unaware of the fact that Iranians aren’t Arabs and clueless about the bribery aspect of doing so], I daresay that Gov. Palin understanding exceeds that of Biden. Suddenly, I’m excited about Election ’08.

Obama tells us that words mean something … D’oh … but so do actions. What we can conclude from Obama’s actions is that not only is he a racist and a Marxist, he is also a sexist … and that’s okay for people like Ducky who hasn’t seen the football since kickoff.

This is either a brilliant stroke of political genius or a terrible mistake. There is no middle ground here.

For myself, I can't tell you how happy I am to see a conservative woman on the ticket. Not just a woman, but a conservative woman. I've been looking ofrward to this for a long, long time.

Let's hope the rest of America feels the same way I do.

Ducky's here said...

She noted that she took on Big Oil, extracted big bucks from them and their high profits and gave it to the people of Alaska. Sounds sorta like what Obama says he wants to do.

Now myself, I think the talk about excess profits etc. doesn't get us anywhere. But what Obama will do is point out that this fool is cool with taking money from big oil only so long as it goes to Alaskans.
Or will he force Candidate McCheese to admit he favors Obama's position.

Hi All,
Any woman who hunts moose, and fishes, is A-OK with me. She is impressive, conservative, and presents a tough, no nonsense persona. Qualities which I consider most important in a leader.

True toughness is an inner quality, not whether one looks tough, or has to wear pantsuits to present an acceptable image of a leader. I doubt Margaret Thatcher ever owned a pants suit.

Governor Palin has the reputation of a woman wno is confident, knows who she is, and knows how to zero in on a problem.

Yes she is less experienced in the ways of Washington, but, McCain covers that area, and yes she's young in terms of a candidate.

However, she's only three years younger than the Democrat Presidential candidate for the United States, and has more experience in governance than Barack Obama does.

To be a little politically analytical, this pick is a political pick. To get the disaffected Hillary voters, to balance the Republican ticket, and to energize conservative voters at the same time.

This is how it's done folks, Obama picked Biden to balance the Democrat ticket.

The difference is the #2 on the Republican ticket has more experience than the #1 on the Democrat ticket.

Sarah Palin is a pretty woman, but Mr. Pris says Republican women are just better looking than Democrat women, it couldn't be avoided. So there, Ducky.

Well, the stage is set, let the games begin!!

Thanks for caring so much about us Senator McAinus

ducky, you can't possibly be this obtuse. sarah 'the barracuda' palin has more executive experience than the democrat nominee for president. for that matter she has more elected government experience than the dnc nominee for president.

she has actual experience in stepping across the aisle and brokering compromises between dems and reps. and she's capable of making a speech where "i" is not the primary word.

i'll bet y'all dollars to donuts she's capable of making a speech without a teleprompter, too. for those of you leaning left, that's known as an impromptu speech - i'm certain hers' won't be littered with ums and uhs.

Ducky's here said...

More executive experience? She was the mayor of a small town with a budget smaller than my stock portfolio.

She's been governor of a nothing state for a couple years and accomplished nothing.

Yeah, it's important that America has a vice president who has eaten a mooseburger.

Palin is a wonderful choice. I posted about her in July and hoped she was being considered. My latest post is on her, too. I know she's the right choice because the Obamatrons came out swinging before the announcement was made at the rally.

Let them mock her 'small town' experience. She's an elected governor with 80% approval ratings in a state known for rugged individualistic people. Foreign policy? Obama has none, that's why Biden was chosen - a senator with a longer stint in D.C. than McCain. She's the only one on either ticket with executive experience.

Anonymous said...

Ducky, cattle are docile animals too, but you probably like a good hamburger. Palin likes mooseburgers, so?

A reminder, Bill Clinton, when he was elected in '92, was 46 years old, and a Governor of a state with a population of two million. His running mate, Al Gore, was 44 years old. Whoa, really?

So, if this is a yardstick, I'd say Sarah Palin is as qualified to be President as Bill Clinton was. Well, whaddaya know!

Having lived in Idaho and hung out with people who hunt moose, let me say..have you ever seen how large a moose is?

Ever get one mad at you?

Folks in Alaska tell me, it is not uncommon to come outside and see them destroying your car or whatever make of vehicle you have.

This Sarah is typical of the old American Spirit of CAN DO.

SHe is most likely an excellent shot, too.
( I shoot well myself)
And by the way she has been commander in chief of the National guard of her state, has actually taken time to visit wounded soldiers in Germany, too.
Some politicans don't do soldiers, I hear.

Neve had seen Sarah speak until today and let me say, she was awesome, articulate, fresh and very appealing.

She connceted to people, seemed real , not GOD LIKE.

Also, she is a union member, both she and husband, who also is part Eskimo.

Her claim to fame is taking on the entrenched establishment, and serving the people.

Just exactly what people are crying out for these days.

I think John McCain gave us a good one.

And I for one am proud to vote for the mavericks.

man, you should have seen all the American Flags, too.

It is SOOOOO FUN to watch that idiot McCafferty on CNN just seethe with anger as he knows this is an amazingly STRONG pick. We have also seen how much ducky is molting today as well. A strong conservative, pro-life, pro-guns, pro-family, pro-finance reform, pro-drilling, pro-common sense!!!

WELL DONE JOHN McCAIN!!!

Oh, MAN, what a great bunch of comments. (except Ducky's, of course..but we're used to that and 'love' him , anyway!)

Mustang, you made me laugh out loud "DUCKY IS A REPUBLICAN!" (ya right!)

Palin wore a SKIRT today. Hurrah.

It killed me that I had to be in meetings most of the afternoon and I haven't heard much news. I'm so gratified to hear you all like Palin so much, too.

First time I heard of her, a few months ago, I thought "That's our girl!" like some of you did, too! She is the real thing.

ANYBODY who suggests her experience is lacking when we look at Obama's is NUTS.

here's the response to your friends/family who suggest she hasn't enough experience:

Would you rather have a PRESIDENT with very little experience and who's never shown he loves this country with all its warts, OR would you rather have a VP with less experience than some and who obviously loves this country?
Ya, I thought so!

Papa Frank said...

I can't wait to see her kick Joe Biden's hiney in the debates and then challenge him to an arm wrestling contest!!! Oh man, this is going to be fun! The BEST choice would have been STAR PARKER, as I've been saying for several weeks, but this is good SECOND-BEST–––as far as I can tell.

Of course, the D'Rat oppositional research WARROOOOM fiends will soon "discover" that Sarah has a lesbian lover, or took a bribe, or happily made love to her grandfather for two decades, or knocked over a local bank "for kicks" when she was sixteen, or is really queer for moose––––or SOMETHING––––you wait and see.

Thirteen years of elective office is hardly "inexperienced." McCain and Palin are doers; they put country ahead of socialist party ... Can anyone say that for Obama/Biden? If the answer is yes, then they don't know Obama/Biden very well.

Try this: do some research before you actually vote.

Not having a big history is not at all bad. Obama probably wishes he has less history. McCain has strong experience so he doesn't need a VP with a lot of experience.

Sarah Palin has her enemies.
SOme of you are aware of this so called ethics probe of her firing the commander , I think it was of the state troopers, who refused to fire a very bad trooper who tasered a 10 year old child, among many other things.

This trooper used to be married to Palin's sister. It seems he is a really bad apple , driving drunk, abusive and so on.

Anyhow, the union for the troopers refused to do anything about their boy.

So. That is the worst I know about, and this fellow she fired vowed he would bring Sarah Palin down.

WVDOTTR

Z said...

WV...from what I read, Sarah Palin said 'BRING IT ON' with this trooper thing. If this had been a problem, I'm sure the vetting would have spit it out and sunk her, right? If this is all they have, they have ZERO.

Sue..Yup. Better any inexperienced VP than an inexperienced Pres.
But, from what I hear, running a State as governor is far more complicated and needs far, far more decision making on a daily basis (including the National Guard) than ANY day listening to senate hearings does.
She's got HUGE fans. That's a good thing.

elmers brother said...

Better any inexperienced VP than an inexperienced Pres.

what duhkkky and others of his ilk have quit saying is that it was Obama's own VP selectee among other Dems who kept bringing up the inexperience issue.

Z,
You are right about the trooper and his boss/commissioner .

And she did say, bring it on.

As for eating mooseburgers, and caribou...well, I am surprised at one poster's comments.
Such meats are so much better for us , less fat and so on.

No, I see a young , possible Maggie Thatcher in the making.
There , said it.

Ducky,

Joe Biden has a lot of foreign policy experience for a Democrat.

But - and this is a huge distinction - saying Joe Biden is a "foreign policy expert" is like calling Burger King a five-star restaurant.

All we gotta do is ask Biden why he thought paying terrorist state Iran (full of Persians) $200 million no-strings-attached would alleviate alleged fears of a war of extermination in the Arab world one month after 9/11.

Coloring books contain more intellect than that buffoon.

As it is, with Palin's 6 years as a mayor and 2 years as state Governor, Sarah Palin has more executive experience than Obama, Biden, and Hillary Clinton put together.

Yeah, Biden's an incumbent Senator from a state the size most Americans call a "county."

Which is probably why he dropped out of the Democratic primaries when his "foreign policy experience" barely got him ahead of Dennis "stop the orbital mind control lasers" Kucinich in the Iowa caucus.

Beamish, when is anybody going to be truthful in our media and talk about that $200 mill to Iran "so they remember we LIKE them and are sorry 9/11 might reflect badly on them!?" Maybe in the debates? Oh, please....PLEASE, God!!!

Obama is Mythical Creation designed by the steadfast, unwavering Alliance between the Enemedia and the DNC.

When you get behind the carefully structured rhetoric and start looking at Obama, one can easily see "There's No There There." (Thank you, Gertrude Stein!)

What you have is Rev. Wright of "God Damn America" fame, Bill Ayers, the inept, violent Anarchist turned "Professor," and an uncomfortably close association with Islam.
