Alan Keyes has a lot of fans, so I'm publishing this....all Americans should know this, anyhow....

...because this is very, very scary. Mr. Obama's threatening "monetary penalties" on people who question his eligibility for the presidency. Isn't that a bit..............drastic? Where's the media? And, is it really so surprising?

z (thanks, mg...this info must get out there)

Communism includes the severe repression of other thought; NO questioning AUTHORITY.
This guy is threatening penalizing Keyes for having only asked for real honest, bona fide PROOF!??

Remember what they did to Joe the Plumber? That was like COMMUNISM.

Yes, but we are afraid to say that word because it sounds so ridiculous. People laugh "Communism!! BOOGIE MAN...COMMIE UNDER EVERY BED..isn't that HILARIOUS" ..no, not so much, anymore.

WE have to start taking it seriously now....NO, I'm not suggesting we're communists in this country, so don't even.........But....what is GOING ON HERE? SINCE WHEN do presidents ruin the reputation of a plumber for having asked a question? Or monetarily penalized a citizen for asking for some proof about something pretty darned important?

In Europe they call Obama a Communist..."He's more left than we are" says many German journalists (you haven't heard that, have you, no...you still think what our media wants you to believe, that they LOVED him! not)
Alright, they loved him for 2 days and then started really looking at that speech and referring to him as an "empty suit". No, you didn't hear that..except here.

Yes, Europe has the guts to call this whole stimulus package NUTS...(all over Europe, the mainstream media's calling it a HUGE mistake that can't help)
No, we aren't hearing that here, either.

Except here. Because of Mr. Z...
I wonder if WE will be penalized monetarily for this?

One has to question why Obama is guarding so strongly on this issue...well, I guess if one is not part of the media (since they didn't do their job here).

Why didn't Obama satisfy curiosities prior to the election? I know, I know, some believe he did, but there were inconsistencies that were never explained.

So why doesn't he provide clarification now that he's been elected? Threats in place of clarification...makes me question his eligibility even more.

Oops, now I guess he'll want to take even more money out of my pocket.

Anyone without something to hide would simply say: "Look, I know you are questioning my citizenship, my place of birth and all that jazz. So here is a copy of my birth certificate, here is the office that you can get a copy from, and I have no problem with that. Now, let's work on running the country."

I have a certified copy of my birth certificate. What about you? How many on here can produce their birth certificate in a short moment?

I suspect this is a MASSIVE lost cause as SCOTUS refused to even hear related cases; however, if Mr Keyes can persevere then more power to him. Not knowing the precise details, I still go back to my original thoughts on the issue: this is a VERY easy issue to quash. If Mr Obama's bonafides are correct, reveal them, be clear, be completely transparent, be honest and up front -- it will make Mr Obama's accusers appear the Moonbats they are.

However, not taking this very easy tack and concluding the issue once and for all causes some serious concern. If Mr Keyes can be successful where others have failed, good for him. Stalling, countersuits, etc., do nothing FOR Mr Obama and merely lend credence to his accusers and continue to stir and feed suspicions. And rightly so.

I have a certified copy of my birth certificate.

So does my husband.

I think it only right that anyone seeking office for the presidency answer questions about his or her origins.

Why won't Obama just put all of this to rest?
But worse, why threaten with monetary punishment for asking about his birth?
A wee bit touchie there, Mr. O.

I had to show a certified copy of my birth certificate several times in my life. When I was hired by the police department, went into the military, got my driver's license etc. Each time I presented it without a problem. What's the problem with BO?

This kind of action on Obama's part, smacks of a dictator's type of governing. Not a pretty picture. His broad smile belies what is just beneath the surface.

It's nothing new, except in America. It's been done in countries such as Cuba, Venezuela, the Soviet Union, China, the list goes on.

But, lo and behold, this is America! The operative word here, is intimidation, and ultimately, fear.

This is the country where a President Bush was called names I can't repeat here. He has been accused of war crimes, you name it.

And yet, he always upheld the right to freedom of speech. Always.

And, that's the difference folks. One who believes he is in full control of every aspect of our lives, and one who didn't believe that.

This President believes he is above our rights, and the Constitution itself.

He thinks he can make the rules, when it is our system that makes the rules. We can cave to that narrow and oppressive thinking or have the courage to speak our minds, which is guaranteed by our laws.

We are Americans, and it behooves us to hold onto that, no matter what!

Nothing written about B. Hussein Obama surprises me. After all, the people elected a RADICAL.

About Alan Keyes. I'm torn. I admire the hell out of his communication skills, he speaks better than Obama (and ANYONE else for that matter), and DOESN'T need to hide behind a telepromter to make a good speech. The guy is a TOTAL patriot and brilliant to boot!

He has a fatal personality flaw though; he's terribly pompous. It comes through in his debates AND many of his interviews. I've seen him interviewed and noticed that he seems incapable of wiping the perpetual smirk off of his face. It's made all the more tragic by the fact that he's so immensely talented. He could have been OUR President, but he's managed to alienate people who expect a MODICUM of modesty in candidates.

This is how they obtain leaders in banana republics.
I like Mr Keyes, unfortunatelly he sat on this info for longer than I wouuld have liked.
Was obama born here?
Did he renounce his citizenship when he went to pakistan?
Did he attain foreign student loans as a college student?
These are vital questions.
An honest and compassionate leader would answer these questions.

My question is this:

Why is there not an independent board or council that those who seek office must present proof of their qualifications to? Why do we leave it up to the various parties to decide if their candidate is qualified? This is ludicrous.

Hi Morgan,
Yes, his manner can be off-putting. Unfortunate, but true.

Too bad, really, if not for that, he could have gone far, I think.

Obama will continue to do stuff like this for one simple reason, he can. The media will not question him. He even Fox has largely gone soft, with the exception of a few of the people such as Hannity.

Not hard to believe this one. Wait until conservatives start being audited by the IRS, totally by random, too... Riiiight.

You're all so right.

Let me just say that the weekend the Hawaii Governor SEALED HIS BIRTH CERTIFICATE just happened to be the day he went to visit his dying grandmother...suddenly, SLAMMED SHUT.

What about that Liberal Democrat guy who's been in politics..? Remember that lawyer? HE had a suit the Supreme Court didn't hear....Obama dismissed it as ridiculous, and he shut up! WHY? WHY would someone just shut up like that if he felt THAT convicted that we shouldn't have a pres who's not legal and he had, as a lawyer, facts enough to PROVE that?

You're all right: IF THERE IS THE LEAST BIT OF DISTRUST BY THE PUBLIC ON THIS SUBJECT, WHY NOT HAVE FULL DISCLOSURE! Was it Corsi who went to Kenya and they wouldn't let him IN THE COUNTRY because of 'immigration issues', I believe it was? He was there to investigate....the BIRTH CERTIFICATE!!!...but, with Obama's connections/(Don't forget, he backed and campaigned in Africa for the Christian-murderer Odinga (sp?!)), Corsi couldn't get IN!!! Got sent HOME!! ruhroh

If you have nothing to hide...cough it up. pal.

Z, Some time 4 years from now, we'll know the truth about Obie's birth and eligibility. Until then, we need to OPPOSE his freedom destroying plans.

Yes, it's time we save the country....we've GOT the man, we have to do what we can to prevent him from ruining us TOO much.

I heard a conservative talk show host (VERY popular guy) saying this issue was ridiculous, that we should let it die...that it makes us look like idiots.

Would that same thing have been said if GW Bush had been in quesion?

Z said...

Hi, Pinkster.
A lot of Conservatives are saying that..and it might BE...

But, the major point is the lack of transparency, the SEALING of the certificate by Hawaii's governor on exactly that weekend he flew to Hawaii to see his dying grandmother.

I just can't get past the fact that a liberal Democrat lawyer who's held Dem political positions was so convinced obama wasn't eligible that he filed a lawsuit! Just feels strange to me..something's up.

Sometimes I think Conservatives are in cahoots and it puzzles me. Something seems mightily 'up'...not to sound like a conspiracy whacko!

I strongly suggest that you allow the Ambassador from the planet Mongo to continue filling the courts with his trivia.

The longer Republicans waste on this silliness the less likely it is they regroup and form a party of even moderately constructive ideas.

Say goodbye to St. Ronnie Raygun and get on with it or you are marginalized for decades.

Remember, every time Alan Keyes opens his mouth the intelligence of the right wing population is diluted. It's your choice.

Anonymous said...

Z, I completely get your point. The lack of transparency is terrifying. But he's been that way since day one (which wasn't that long ago).

I don't suggest we drop it. I was just pointing out that conservatives (or those who call themselves that) seem to be split on issues like this one.

And Ducky, calm down, my lovely. Your party is every bit, if not more divided. There are just as many far-left folks who are "marginalized" in the eye of the general public.
Sheehan, Moore, AL GORE!!

You talk about Keyes lowering the IQ of the Right? Damn, your idiot #1 is now our V.P. Lucky, lucky US.

Don't deny it. You know it's true.

Well you know Pinky, I was thinking about the stimulus package Sunday.

I drove out to the far west of the state to the Mass. Museum of Contemporary Art. They recently finished the expensive and lengthy installation of Sol Lewitt's "Wall drawings".
You may not be familiar with him but with your photographic interest in repetition I can safely say you'd find him extremely substantial.

It was nice to see the parking lot full and a lot of interest in the installation. But I got to thinking about what would probably be a standard far right objection to public money being used, comments like "my four year old could do that" and the idea that the "market" should decide what gets made and displayed.

Someone once said of Lewitt, "He's our Spinoza". I don't think that's hyperbole and I can find something very deep and spiritual in the work but because they won't have mass appeal that's it, the market has spoken.

It frightens me when I think of what a sterile world the right would subject us to.

Ducky,
I really enjoy Lewitt, thanks to you. You introduced me to him. I recently went to a local art fair and viewed four of his works, one being the last one he did before he died. I liked it, but not as much as some of his others. It was a little too chaotic for me. :-)

You're smart enough to know that art will survive and indeed thrive with or without gov't money. Those who NEED it will make sure of that.

The wall in the link looks incredible. So calming. I could spend an hour....

Typical liberal, Ducky,
You complain that people aren't eating, that we need stimulus to get people jobs, that Republicans are elitists, and you can't wait to see how Mass. has spent tons of dough on the opening of a guy who's drawn soft pastel squares on a long wall.

If you want that kind of mindless art, see Stella; at least there's some thought and talent there.

Why is it a waste?

The museum is in a renovated abandoned factory. It employs a number of people, tradesman had work doing the renovation, artists had work doing the installation, the attendance is strong indicating people may have found an entertainment bargain in tough times.

I'd say it was pretty successful.

A VERY nice afternoon, balanced out? A Kahlo exhibit followed by Lewitt. Intensity followed by relaxation.

Z said...

Well, good then, Ducky! Thanks for supplying all the information before we all jumped in and gave valid opinions based only on the typical museum show. not

Pinkster...that's the Republican way of doing things...yes, private citizens should do this type of thing... And I'm not at all against a community getting together like Ducky now describes the Lewitt show....

The arts were one of the things which didn't suffer during FDR's horrid big government spending fix for the Depression........people need art, need film, need entertainment in bad times.

There's a restaurant in LA which barters for food. If you can't pay, you bus dishes for a few hours or do dishes in the kitchen or seat people, or chop vegetables or something... it's really caught on and gives a great sense of community and fun, too. People get to feel what hard work can buy them, with their hands.....

I.H.S. said...

I like that, Z.

It may even have more of a positive effect on the ones who must employ this method to eat, and prompt them to better for themselves.

What do you think?

I was gonna say that the gallery should pay back Uncle Sam when enough donations have been solicited. But that's just silly talk.

And I agree with you, art is SO healing during stressful times. I've gravitated towards new art this year, and my photography has taken on a whole new meaning.

Love it, Z!!

No, although there were private contributions.

Z said...

IHS...absolutely! Very true.
And, it shows the owners have a heart and APPRECIATE hard work over cash, too.

I love this but I fear we might be facing this almost mandatorily if things get worse; perhaps this is the 'good' some people see behind the nightmare poverty/inflation this stimulus package will probably cause?

But, Ducky..it CAN be all done on private donations.. it CAN and SHOULD. Sometimes, not always. Whynot?

Pinky, I hate to admit I thought art and music were good things to take off the education plate when costs got too high; that science/math were more important. They ARE more important in some ways, but I'm totally behind the arts now in schools, especially when I see the preschoolers respond to my songs and stories...and art. THAT STAYS IN.
Ya, isn't that restaurant idea brilliant!?

Anonymous said...

Yes, Z. the restaurant idea is brilliant...so simple! It's good on many levels. Yes, it may become more cmomon, but if it does create a sense of community, all the better. One small benefit during hard times is how Americans pull together and encourage one another. We tend to become more a team.

Oh, I think the arts should never be cut from schools. I hate that music and art have been cut down to once per week at our public school here. It's a shame.
yech.
But yes, math and science are critical. I'll bet we could cut some stupid new poorly written curriculum out and save a TON of money instead of cutting the arts. Or HEY!! How's about cutting out some spending on our STUPID $4 MILLION baseball stadium. We Texans are famous for paying our coaches way more than other teachers.

Average American said...

OK, so Duckster, how much did the paint job on that wall cost? With all those colors, it must have been quite a bit. I'd probably had to have charged at least $300.00. What did the "artist" charge? $30,000? $300,000? more? It's just tax money, the sky's the limit I guess.
