...is a reminder of HOW GREAT AMERICANS CAN BE........
North Platte, Nebraska...WHAT A STORY! "Sailor, we're praying for you.." "Love chases away FEAR". Please give this a look all the way through, and share it .........
This will make ANY American proud. We have this in us.... you KNOW we do. We just have to be reminded. Sure beats chocolate and roses.

Choked me up. Thanks z. We always need to be reminded of our troops.
There is a troop support group in Indiana led by my sister-in-law that unselfishly works toward keeping our troops happy. They are called Families for Freedom. Some of the members have three sons or daughters proudly serving their country.
Ya, Sue, I got really teary, too.
Please thank, your sis-in-law..that's wonderful work. God bless them all. Especially our troops and their FAMILIES.
WOW!!!That is the first time one of my e-mails landed on your Blog.
Kind of fun!
I love this video. Such a great reminder of a time, when the hearts of regular folks were so filled with love and gratitude towards the American military.
Brought tears to my eyes.
Wish all YOUNG Americans could see this, and perhaps have a better
understanding of the sacrifices our county made for the freedoms they now enjoy.
Let's get it out to the media, radio, t.v. etc.
Remembering today...
all who have loved you,
and all you have loved.

this brings tears to my eyes.
I can remember on several occasions someone buying me lunch or giving a handshake...just cause I was in uniform.
It meant and still means a lot.
Let's not take them for granted nor forget their service.
Who wouldn't cry at seeing this? I did too. So moving and heartfelt.
I remember my Grandmother would call the USO and have them send over soldiers for dinner with the family. Especially during holidays. Guys who were far away from home.
And no one ever drove past a hitch hiking man in uniform without giving him a ride.
Sue, your sister-in-law is a true patriot. She's doing a wonderful thing.

The thing is we still DO have this in us but something's working AGAINST IT now in America..WHAT?
You tell ME!.
That was a wonderful video! WOW.
My parents met in that sort of setting. My dad was a Korean War vet who had just returned "home" to northern Wisconsin (NY born and raised). Here he was a dark-skinned, curly headed Jewish kid from NY, whose parents escaped communism in Ukraine by the skin of their teeth; and he meets a vivacious blond beauty whose parents escaped the potato famine in Ireland and indentured servitude in Germany.
Naturally, both families hated each other at first. After grandchildren started being born EVERYONE became die-hard Americans.
That video was touching. It reminded me of my mom's folks in Wisconsin.

G-d bless you Sue! Tell your sister to keep up the good work, it's what we call a Mitzvah...a positive Commandment. Our charitable giving is directed to the Freedom Alliance and the USO. G-d bless these brave young people!

I LOVE this!! Thanks so much for posting!! (Tracked you from over @ DD2's blog.)
I pray that God will bless America -- still.
That was super Z
Thanks for it and have a great Day
Z-thank you for your comment on my blog! :-) I love a good discussion-
my problem w/the 'prince' (Charles) is that he's preaching 'GREEN' but-not DOING 'green'
As to blood 'royals'-we in the US got RID of that mind-set -Oh... around 1776-in fact-that man of great character-George Washington-was offered a crown---he stated (and I para-phrase) 'we just finished fighting a war to rid ourselves of earthly kings'....
Love-

Now THAT was one mighty powerful clip Z. Thank you for sharing it. You can bet us Nam vets never got anything like that, going over or coming back. Thats why we don't ever let our newer vets go unwelcomed or unthanked. We make DAMNED sure they here THANK YOU a bunch of times. I've even had a couple of guys tell me they had had enough thanks already.
Thanks, CS....you were right, as I said when I went back to your site!
Average...'enough', huh? I think NO SOLDIER can EVER get enough thanks...but, that's just chicken me.
Average American?
My husband is a Nam Vet.
It was only since living in West Virginia, and wearing his Viet Nam Veteran cap that someone just quietly just said to him,
"welcome home."
I can't tell you what that meant to him.
If anyone knows how the current crop of veterans feels, it is these forgotten warriors from Korea and Viet Nam.
( I am not diminishing any group here, please understand that.)
But there have been a lot of people who have been overlooked.
There were battles in Grenada, and other places too, and men and women were killed and injured .
We need to support all of these incredibly special people.

Z,
This is good stuff. As AA said, it wasn't always this way. I know people don't want to hear us complain, but dang, it was tough having our superiors tell us not to wear our uniforms home because it may cause us trouble. I came back through San Francisco. That was probably not good heh?
Every veteran deserves to be appreciated for their service. I hope America never confuses the war with the veterans again.
L&O....that really brings home you situation; You lived in hell holes, fought in the heat and intense humidity, had to kill, had to face being killed, went without family for long periods of time, caused your families to worry you weren't ever coming back, and we didn't advise you to wear your uniforms home because people might not like it.
