Whatever is lovely.......

"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me-put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you." Philippians 4:8

Not a bad reminder, huh? We still have much to celebrate and much goodness to"think about".

I admit it: these days I have a difficult time enjoying the good things in this life.

God is entirely good. He is eternal and unchanging. His Creation is filled with wonders, marvels, perplexities, complexities, delights --- and boundless opportunities to meet challenges to demonstrate the power Love, Truth, Principle, Intelligence and Spirit have to transform all kinds of adversity into something constructive and desirable.


The Kingdom of God already IS within every single one of us.


When we refuse to believe and remain unaware of that and therefore lose faith, we might possess great physical beauty, live in a gilded palace with all the aides and accessories needed to make it work, and still be utterly miserable. Yet, with genuine faith in God's Love, Omnipresence and Almighty Power we CAN know JOY --- even if we are imprisoned in a dungeon --- or worse.


Everything happens for a REASON. And everything --- no matter how dreadful it may seem --- happens for the best, if seen from the perspective of Eternal Truth.


As fatuous old FDR wisely said, "We have nothing to fear but fear, itself."

Philippians 4:8
That is one of my favorite verses. Thank you for sharing it! It is something that many need to remember in these times. God is still God and he is perfect and beautiful!

The remarkable content of that verse reminds us that each of those -- True, Noble, Right, Pure, Lovely, Admirable, Excellent, Praiseworthy are all attributes of our Savior Jesus Christ.

Think on these things and we are thinking on Christ.... Think on Christ and we contemplate these things..

If we don't know the Savior it is hard to reconcile these truths.

Amazing -- God's Word!!

Amen bro. Jack! John 17:3 comes to mind. Eternal life is to know the only true God, who is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It will take all eternity to plumb the glorious depths of our wondrous Savior Jesus Christ! Thank you Z for this gerat reminder!

Sunday is about the only peaceful day of the week anymore. I look forward to it very much. The rest of the week, seems like one day after another things get worse.

The picture and the verse should be on a hallmark card in the "Thinking about you" section.
