Apologize to GREY DAVIS? yup

GOP DELEGATE WANTS APOLOGY FOR DAVIS RECALL

You have got to believe that the California Republican base is dispirited when a delegate at this weekend's state party convention is circulating a resolution to apologize to former Democratic Gov. Gray Davis for recalling him from office.

But that is exactly what party delegate Alex Burrola is suggesting.

The resolution, underscoring some party activists' seething displeasure with "post-partisan" GOP Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, reads as follows:

"Whereas, in 2003 a grassroots effort was begun to recall then-Governor Gray Davis from office on grounds which included gross mismanagement of the budget and finances of the State of California;

"...Whereas, candidate Arnold Schwarzenegger campaigned as a reformer and champion of fiscal discipline and responsibility who would bring change and reform to government which it sorely needed;

"Whereas, in the subsequent years Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has instead proven to govern as a tax and spend politician precisely similar to the one he campaigned to replace in the recall election;

"Whereas, the trust and confidence of Republicans has been betrayed and shattered by Governor Schwarzenegger's repeated and ongoing efforts to collaborate with Democrats in the Legislature to seek solutions to the state's fiscal crisis by irresponsible borrowing and increasing taxes and refusal to make the needed reductions in state spending;

"Whereas, Governor Schwarzenegger's current budget solution includes more than $14 billion in higher taxes on sales, income, gasoline and the car tax which he specifically attacked Governor Davis for raising;

"Whereas, it is plain that Governor Schwarzenegger has abandoned the most basic tenets of Republican ideology and rendered the whole purpose of the 2003 recall pointless;

"Therefore, be it resolved that the California Republican Party officially extends a heartfelt and sincere apology to former Governor Gray Davis for its role in recalling him from office."

So, six years later, Davis can take heart. Sorry about that, Gray.

I don't know why Arnold doesn't just change parties. No one believes he's still a Republican, IF he ever was one.

well z i say enough of this, oops now i guess we made a mistake, junk. i can understand the outrage over arnold's back stabbing by going left. but to now say davis shouldn't of been removed looks petty. we in the conservative movement have been crying for conservatives to act like "men" for some time. this in my opinionin doesn't help!

If we found such a thing as a good democrat then maybe they would. It's going to be a long search though.

'I'm a Republican!'
(I sleep with a Kennedy)
'Yes, I'm a Republican!'
(There sure are a lot of Latinos in this state)
'We've all got to get along!'
(They'll never let me be President)
'Okay, you got me. I'm not really a Republican...I just have a lot of money!'
(Time for another Terminator movie)

California has not always been a nest of socialists; there was a time when people from California prided themselves on their conservative values. I think this began to change at the beginning of the 20th Century, in the heady days following the end of World War I. It was a time when, following America’s short engagement on the side of the allies (which included Russia), the pathetically uninformed saw communism as a new beginning for all mankind. The idea was, and is, that the state should accept responsibility for the welfare of its citizens. Ever so slowly, the Hollywood elite, spoiled beyond understanding with their millions upon millions of dollars earned from playing “pretend,” easy money when you consider that they don’t really work for it, began to assert liberal ideas in both their behavior and their films.

Today, as with other places throughout our country, we see how successful the communists have become. Senator McCarthy attempted to warn us of the danger, but those people looking for utopia shouted him down and dismissed him as a clown. But then we ought to consider what has happened in California (and elsewhere) as proof that McCarthy wasn’t full of beans after all. Our nation’s most populated state; the government of California has fully asserted itself into the lives of every citizen. It has decided, for example, that in order to regulate the environment, it must spend billions of dollars on a diamond lane on its freeway system. It has decided on emissions standards in automobiles sold and registered in California, which has increased the cost of transportation to the average citizen. It has implemented mass transit systems that do more harm polluting the atmosphere than any automobile, and yet steadfastly refuses to develop or incorporate rail systems, which are “too expensive.”

California, like many other places, has developed the idea that money is an unlimited resource; there is no limit to what the state can spend. California provides illegal aliens from Mexico and elsewhere unfettered access to health care, bought, and paid for by taxpaying, law-abiding citizens. Thanks to California’s tax policies, unemployment has increased . . . and these people are now wards of the state. When I lived in California, the annual cost of vehicle registration was about $350.00 . . . now I understand that it is well over $1,000.00. Property taxes have skyrocketed. State income taxes have increased to the point where only the very rich “Hollywood elite” can afford to pay them. State taxation has driven away major corporations, but populations continue to increase as people from Mexico migrate to the land of the free . . . well, at least for them.

Governor Schwarzenegger is simply another RINO; he will be more than happy to take Stimulus money that some other state refuses . . . remember where he comes from. European socialism has arrived, folks. But maybe at some point, the people of California will come to realize that there is no free ride; the sooner they come to terms with the amount of spending the state does in order to pay for some Pakistani woman’s octuplets . . . maybe, just maybe, they’ll demand truly conservative politicians who understand how business is done in a capitalist society. If not, then California will collapse upon itself. And you know . . . maybe it should.

Pat, that's not me, that's the delegate saying that, and I posted it here to show bad things have become under a liberal who posed as a conservative.
But, I'll say this again; he was doing well until he hired Susan Kennedy, a San Francisco ULTRA liberal as chief of staff.. why he did that is WAY beyond me. But, things started changing IMMEDIATELY. I'll never forget that...

Yes, FJ. Arnold is definitely a KENNEDY.

Woman Honor?. That was my point exactly. thanks.

Mustang, we elected a 'conservative' who lied and postured. Now we see that. People think California's SO MUCH MORE LIBERAL than they are, yet Arnold ran and won on Conservatism...in CALIFORNIA. No, I don't think we should implode, thanks! :-)

Most of us wanted McClintock but there are as many liberal entitlement-trained Dems in this state as in others..and he lost his chance. But, he's still active and will run again.
After the nightmare Arnold's created for us, he'd probably win.

Now, I see Arnold will be starring in Sly Stone's new film about Arnold's favorite personality.............ARNOLD.

Also, the Dems are talking up the Mexican vote here......
Thankfully, the legal Mexicans I personally know, are good Republicans. So are all the Eastern European immigrants who came here thirty years ago. You should get THEm talking about obama..they're scared TO DEATH now because they see happening here what happened to force them to leave their countries.

Such refreshing honesty. Kudos to Cali Republicans.

Well, Ducky, you GOT IT!

I'm hoping Dems SOME DAY can turn as honest an eye back on themselves.

Arnold? *spit, spit*

I share most of the sentiment, but let's not go too far. Governor Davis was just another left wing hack. Except for the apology, the rest of the message was spot on.

Just as long as Mr. Davis doesn't take this as an invitation to run again. Yikes!!

Well actually, believe it or not, Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia has stood up and condemed all these czars Obama has appointed to 'oversee' things. He says this is a grab of power , goes against the constitution and prevents our system of checks and balances.
