Sunday Faith Blog

Aren't you glad you're not THERE?.....because, in the Bible, we celebrate love and know that "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." I Corinthians, Chapter 13.

On a personal note....make this Valentine's Day your most special yet, in memory of my Mr. Z. Have a WONDERFUL day with your loved one.
Love, me

Z,
Valentine's day is another day to tell the ones you love, that you love them. I suspect Mr.Z showed and said that to you everyday. Happy Valentine's Day.

I've never in my life done Valentine's Day. Don't know why, just was never part of my family I guess. Strange I suppose since so many are into it. Oh in school there were the candy hearts and the obligatory exchange of cards and I liked to make the cards myself and decorate them with paper lace and that sort of thing. But as a grownup thing, never. It just never entered into my environment. Strange but true.

SO, since it DOES matter to you, Z, I certainly wish you a lovely Valentine's Day with the happiest of memories.

Z: look again, look at it sideways. FJ sent you a rose!

God bless you on this day. I know how tough it's got to be and yet, despite that, YOU'RE wishing US a Happy Valentine's Day!

Amazing, Z, amazing. Thank you kindly.

And finally, is that Mr Z jogging on the beach?

Faith, it did matter to mr. Z and me....we gave each other nice cards and he always got me flowers. It mattered a lot, though Law & Order Teacher's right...Mr. Z made every day special...he always liked to have flowers in the house almost more than I did and I always laughed when we'd have a nice fresh bunch on the living room table and dining room table and he'd bring yet another one in when he shopped just because he liked them. he did a lot of the grocery shopping because he worked at home and liked to get out (i liked that he did that!)

About 3 days ago, I reached behind something on a shelf and there was an old Valentine's Day card he'd given me, probably last year; I don't believe finding things like that is a coincidence.

BZ....you're right! How could I not see that..a rose! And, thanks for the nice words. it's Mr. Z walking away from his daughter on the beach to get yet another photo of his own, I guess!

FJ...THANK YOU, that's just beautiful :-)

I'm sure it wasn't coincidence that you found that old Valentine card, Z, my thoughts are with you on this day, not as easy day for you I am sure.

The "there" that you linked to, Saudi Arabia, doesn't heart anything but Arab male dominance.

Have you heard about the couple married 85 years? Now that's a Valentine!

Hope you are doing okay, especially on this day.

I love that you found a Valentine's Day card from Mr. Z. That is truly a 'sign.'

One Christmas, 2-3 years after my Grandmother died, I found a Christmas card from her in my stationary box. I'd never seen it before, b/c she had written it, but never sent it. The card had gotten swept in w/ things that I brought home after we cleaned out her house. (I had taken her stationary...) I'm convinced it was a 'sign' from her - a simple note wishing me a Merry Christmas & letting me know she's still around, which I do believe.

I think maybe the same's true of your Valentine.

Happy Valentines Day, Z. I apologize for going off the deep end about the Olympic Games before doing this ... That topic kind of gets me riles up and I lose perspective, I guess.

I love that photo of Mr Z. on the beach...his spirit soared there,
in the wind and sun and sea.
We remeber him so well, and all that he was....
May you hold tight Z., the special love you shared and find a sweetness in your memories.
