Please check out MUSTANG'S LATEST POST HERE...............Mustang questions "Have you forgotten, America?" I think we have. Hear JFK try to remind us.
No wonder many say he'd be a Republican today in comparison with our Democrats. He actually cared about a free media in America.
Thanks, Mustang, for the reminder. Sempre Fi, Sir.

What's next? Mustang posts Eisenhower's warning about the military/industrial complex?
Seems Eisehower was closer to the matter.
And if you think capitalism and corporatism hasn't corrupted our media then I have no idea where you get yours.
Seems like a comlaint that you don't think the media is Biblical, sheer fascism.
Ducky, get a hold of yourself. Nobody expects a liberal to understand freedom of media...and its importance.
You never let me down.
"the media is Biblical?" wow
Well you certainly are correct that our view of the media can't coincide, z.
However, I don't understand why you consider objectivity to be a simple matter of coinciding with yours and mustang's extreme views.
And I don't think I'm being arch to wonder if someone who does depend on the idea of revealed truth wouldn't want a media that strictly conforms to that idea.
Ducky, the media, to me, means TRUTH. When most of the Mainstream media did not cover The Black Panthers situation (you don't think it was a big deal, but most of us think voting freely is) and the related situation where Pelosi and Napolitano haven't put the panther who called for dead cracker babies on the terror list when they're afraid of conservatives and put them on?
When the mainstream media didn't talk about the recess appointment that had ZERO hearings recently, when they glow about "repentant" Byrd and screw Strom Thurmond, ...what's the use? You'll come back with some strawman and I understand that.
What your biggest mistake is in continuing to think that I believe my religious Truth must inform this media or this media must talk about it. No, not at ALL. Just stop the insults to it, that's all I ask.
I'm back later. And, by the way, I've been reading more and more leftist blogs and NOW I know where you get your stuff. Odd you were yelling RACISM here before the msm got THEIR memo. :-)
Semper Fi, Mustang.
Thanks for the notice, Z. It was indeed a good read.
What a great speech, spoken by an American who loved his country. Today, he could not be nominated by the Democrat Party.
Wow Ducky, you can't even have something nice to say about JFK. As we can see, even you would
agree with my opinion above.

You bring up some good examples of distortion and use a few rabies radio tricks, z. Allow me to respond.
I DO NO advocate voter intimidation of any kind and if you are saying anything I've written implies that, you are lying.
The story was well reported in the press. An extremist fool was outside a polling station with a nightstick and was making people pretty uncomfortable, and rightly so.
Complaints came in to the police and he was removed. At no time were there any physical injuries or resistance. This wasn't a major incident.
What has happened now is that lacking any evidence of conspiracy, battery or serious felony, Holder let it go with a constraint against the moron not to show up at polling places in the future and indeed we haven't seen him. November will tell. But a right wing lawyer disagrees so this becomes a failure of the press somehow.
I might add that the bit about killing white babies is completely disgusting and was also not said at the polling site. It was a separate event which rabies radio wants to blur. What would you have the press do, call for his assassination on the Glenn Beck show?
Byrd vs. Thurmond. I've heard it both ways and the general defense of Byrd is that, clearly unlike Thurmond, he changed his mind. Absolutely the best criticism and most thorough debunking of the idea was on the, as you might call it, far left Diane Rehm show (recommended, she gets excellent balanced discussions).
So I can appreciate that you are uncomfortable about there being opinions out there that you don't agree with but I hardly think the fact that you don't understand you are often wrong is cause to call the media biased (which it largely is in a way you don't understand).
Recess appointments? Happen ALL THE TIME. It's a fact of political life and Bush used them often, remember John Bolton?
So just where did the press fall down in the matter of reporting the appointment? The fact that you object to the appointment is not newsworthy and totally irrelevant. The press covered the appointment and the nature of the appointee. What's your issue?
Now I am not being insulting when i mention revealed truth. I think its a legitimate description of how you view the world and it's reasonable to wonder if it causes a limited toleration of dissent. I don't believe it is insulting at all.

//I don't understand why you consider objectivity to be a simple matter of coinciding with yours and mustang's extreme views.//
Objectivity presents both sides of an argument and has no agenda to promote. People are then free to choose which side they believe.
But the thing you fail to understand is, there can only be one truth. I may believe one way, you may believe another. But only one of us can be right on concrete matters.
It is true, there are gray areas where there are no real right or wrong. But when someone asks a question of which course of action is the BEST course to follow, there is only one right answer.
If I say less government is better than more government, because it affords individuals more liberty and freedom to choose their own course, I am right. If you disagree you are free to, but that doesn't mean you are right.
When I say capitalism affords more freedom to business, you cannot argue with that statement. So as you often do, you change the subject to some unrelated subject or some unrelated component of the subject because you cannot refute facts. You attempt to make concrete truths abstract like a modern art piece, so you can make it debatable.
The fact is, more government leads to more government control and loss of freedom. More government regulation of media leads to less media freedom.
I do agree with you on one thing, capitalism does drive the media more than the government does, for now at least. But there will come a day, when the MSM will not be in bed with the government and will try to use its pulpit to issue warranted criticism of said government.
The Left does not like Fox News because they are highly critical of Obama and his band of government idiots. They can woo the MSM into softballing the policies that are destined to take more freedoms away, but not with FNC.
So they do what you do when you lose the argument and that is, they demonize the entity.... not what the entity is saying. They do it because they have no answer for the criticism and neither do you.
OH, WAIT...'RIGHTLY SO'? HE WAS INTIMIDATING AND MAKING PEOPLE UNCOMFORTABLE 'RIGHTLY SO'? HOW'S THAT, DUCKY? WHAT HAD THEY DONE? DIDN'T LOOK LIKE LIBS?
I think he meant that being threatened is legitimate reason for people to feel uncomfortable.
H
I had replied to Ducky, maybe some of you saw the 3 huge comments before I deleted them all.
But, really, what's the point? I had covered point by point..but it's silly to bother...
I also needed to point out how only reading liberal 'news' doesn't prepare us for these conversations....my goodness, please watch the linked videos from a few days back, Ducky...NOBODY should be allowed to tell anybody to "go home if you're not voting for Obama" NOBODY.
but, here I go again. And I don't want to. I'll just say this:
I will ask you, DUCKY, to remember you're a guest here...
I'll leave you with the irony of the night: you said "So I can appreciate that you are uncomfortable about there being opinions out there that you don't agree with.."
Really? Why do you think I don't delete or go on moderation? REALLY, DUCKY? I am UNCOMFORTABLE with opinions I don't agree with?
:-) Not really.
Heather, I saw that you misread his comment, too, from your previous comment. I hope we both did, anyway. I'd hate to think he meant what it looked like. Thanks.
Hi Z
Heather, I saw that you misread his comment, too, from your previous comment. I hope we both did, anyway. I'd hate to think he meant what it looked like. Thanks.
I wasn't going to jump in the middle of this but there were a couple statements Ducky made that, if taken one way make it appear that he doesn't care at all about justice being served or the public knowing the truth.
But if his comments about threatening of voters, fraud and the thing about "white babies" were meant the way I *think* he intended, he's agreeing with you that those are real concerns even as he disagrees on what constitutes "fair and balanced" reporting of said happenings.
I don't want to presume to speak for him but it kind of bothers me when people disagree with me based on a misunderstanding of my position. I think he was actually trying to communicate instead of simply insult.
JMO.
Take Care.
H
Sorry Z...but it looks like you're using a heavy hand of censorship? Are you uncomfortable with the recent ramblings of the racist naacp and the race issue? I ask why? We're all being branded as "racists" due to our political affiliation, our skin color and by a political surrogate...namely Ms. Obama. The naacp is way out of line and has less non white members that the Tea Party has black members.
We thought that all this was behind us....and now because we're using our constitutional rights to organize and speak out about BO's socialist policies and his taxes on us...those who pay the bills...we're branded with the ultimate scorn in our own country?
Especially by those who are supposed to cherish the rights granted to all free people in this country?
"If black Americans are suffering due to our current economic woes, Obama’s own policies are hardly helping them. The NAACP can’t bitch about “the Man” anymore because the Man is Obama. And so instead it turns its racially monolithic vituperation on the Tea Party, which has never been in power, and has had no impact on the economic condition of black Americans—except to advocate policies (smaller government, lower taxes, radically reduced deficits, etc.) that would likely improve the standard of living of all Americans (blacks included). In fact, the Tea Party is a greater friend of black Americans, one might say, than the administration, and is much more representative of America than the NAACP.
Do you see things differently? I want to know. As one who has worked to level the playing field in my life...through my taxes and my belief that all men are created equal....while in service to my country...we all fought for ALL Americans. Not white..not black...ALL Americans. And now...I'm offended by being accused of racism for speaking out against this fraud of a CIC.
As all Americans should not be cowed or intimidated by this ugly charge by this narrow minded racist organization.
Major
Heather, I know that...I can readily tell where he agrees and I can tell when he makes statements based on the liberal 'media' and not on facts. My links would have helped.
Major, I have too many black friends who absolutely don't agree with ANY OF THIS and I'm sure I can't say anything you won't refute so I will stop here. Except, please don't accuse me of censorship. I'm not even sure what you're talking about, frankly.
I am infuriated, OUTRAGED, that the TPers have been branded RACIST by this administration..it's dishonest, STUPID and obviously is aimed at the November elections.
Heather, I know that...
Ok Z.
I'll just stay out of it then as my efforts at "helping" can often make things worse.
H
Oh. Forgot to say thanks for the link to Mustang's post. I'd never heard that speech before.
H
Branding the Tea Party movement as racist is Alinsky Rules for Radicals: Impune their integrity, attack them personally, ridicule them.
We must know the enemy; we must not allow these things to cause us to fight among ourselves. We must be smarter than the leftists, which isn't difficult.
Yes, I'm a guest, z but I don't read anything in my reply that was insulting.
LASunsett, There is only one truth?
Not only is that not universally accepted but I assume that the right possesses it.
It's like the right winger who says "There is a simple way to resolve the current economic recession" ... you just have to dismiss that simplistic thought out of hand.
But never mind, let's stick with the truth ... we had to attack Iraq because they shipped weapons of mass destruction to Syria. In fact you can look at the way the right wing used that term "weapons of mass destruction" to manipulate the public and I bet you were right there.
DUCKY, YOU SAID :
Yes, I'm a guest, z but I don't read anything in my reply that was insulting.
Z: RIGHT...READ ON :-)

rabies radio tricks
It was a separate event which rabies radio wants to blur. What would you have the press do, call for his assassination on the Glenn Beck show?

to call the media biased (which it largely is in a way you don't understand).

NO INSULTS. THANKS.:-) BUT, YOU'RE RIGHT..MAYBE IT'S THAT YOU'RE MORE MISINFORMED AND BIASED THAN INSULTING..COULD BE.
I read Mustang's post, and it is bitter, isn't it?
If we haven't forgotten, what do we do now? Besides trying to "get out the vote," do we wait and see what happens in November to decide whether we have any hope at all left?
I that is all that's left to us - prayer and the vote. The Almighty wasn't ready to answer our prayers in November 2008. Maybe that will change in November.
Maggie, if the voting continues to have the amount of fraud it did at least in Houston during '08's election, it won't matter if we vote.
And, Americans aren't getting the truth, either.
Except, thankfully, MSNBC is tanked below low and CNN's dropping ...the networks have lost, literally, a million viewers EACH this year.
People are waking up..I think it's too late.
I realize that the media can't be unbiased, but they would make great strides towards intellectual honesty and objective analysis if they would remind the audience from time to time that all leftists, without single exception, all incapable of rational thought.
WE NEED A PLEA PARTY!
Now they are calling the Tea Parties "racist" in an effort to discredit the call to a return to the founding principles of America. They have no scruples, no honor. Even if we make gains in the November election it has to be recognized that this nation is now being overrun by a criminal mentality that seeks to destroy it completely and elections can't answer to that for long. Thuggery has been shown in the act of defrauding people of their right to vote already. Daily deceit with a partisan spin is what we get for news. We've long since stopped being the moral people the founders said we must be for our system of government to work.
Please,
It is time for American Christians to put away everything that isn't absolutely essential -- and MOST of what we are engaged in isn't -- and devote daily hours on end to begging God to heal this nation.
Pray to be able to pray more, pray for each other to be able to pray more, pray for the churches, pray for the pastors, pastors pray for your congregations hours on end (revival has come by this means), pray for revival, pray for the restraint of evil, pray for personal correction and repentance, pray pray pray until God comes down.
There is no other hope.
//There is only one truth? Not only is that not universally accepted but I assume that the right possesses it.//
Just another fine example of what I said. You only half read what i said or you have no reading comprehension.
I am talking about truths in concrete matters. CONCRETE. I said there are abstract subjects that have more than one, but you have such a narrow focus that you cannot/will not think outside your little box. You totally ignored that part of it.
1+1=2, 2+2=4. Capitalism affords people more freedom, less government intervention affords more freedom. Those are CONCRETE principles.
Emmy Lou Harris is a better performer than Bonnie Raitt. That's abtract.
Were you born dense, or did you have to work on it?
LASunsett,
Were you born dense, or did you have to work on it?
It's been my experience in observing adherents of left-wing politics that intellect plays no formative role whatsoever in their acquired worldviews. In fact, it's rather demonstrably absurd to presume a leftist arrived at his position via rational thought, much less is inherently capable of rational thought.
These are, after all, the minds that give us "fighting wars in Islamic countries will produce terrorists among the people we shouldn't profile at the airport."
They don't have to work at all at being dense.
