OUR SHINING CITY ON THE HILL....just another country? I should have called this my APRIL FOOL'S BLOG because you'd think this is all just a joke....

(the videos are only displaying sporadically... Please be patient. The top is Hannity interviewing Morris..the bottom is absolutely urrefutable video of Bush and McCain warning about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac... I hope my point, below, is made in any case, videos or no videos. Thanks...)

Look at the top video: Sure, America can ignore this, "it's just FOX and those two conservative guys", is what liberals will say, right? But, what if what's said in this video is absolutely true? Some information backs up what they're saying. Geithner's comments about the dollar have certainly been troubling, as Morris mentions in the video. Here is a paragraph on that from American Thinker: As if the dollar didn't have enough problems, Timothy Geithner took China's bait yesterday and said he was "quite open" to its suggestion this week to displace the greenback with an "international reserve currency." The dollar promptly fell and stocks followed, before the Treasury Secretary re-emerged to say "the dollar remains the world's dominant reserve currency. I think that's likely to continue for a long time."

So, One World Order? Aren't our sovereign American institutions jeopardized now by what it sounds like Obama and Geithner want to do? Is what Conservative America-loving people have been warning about for a couple of years now really happening? CAN a president go THIS FAR LEGALLY? Is America REALLY going to be 'just another country'? We are AMERICA, folks. We stood for FREEDOM and INDEPENDENCE. We've helped everywhere in the world. Countries have depended on us for helping them win wars, helping them in natural disasters, as a shining example to countries which had broken from Communism... why is the breed of Liberal suddenly in the White House moving THIS FAST to spoil her? What is the motivation? How many times will we ask "How can we stop this?" Is this a very bad dream?

And, if the media could keep the information on the lower video quiet, what else can they do to pull the wool over our eyes? How far can this sneaking around go? It's so clear that the Republicans were trying to warn of disaster, but I guess this disaster had to be made larger and gloom and doom had to be warned about so that not only the housing market problem could be 'fixed' but the whole economy could be called a disaster so the Left could finally implement their socialist plans................is this amazing, or WHAT?

Hannity and Morris are a pair of clowns --- stooges for a cynical, manipulative, moneymaking scheme. Please don't take them seriously. They are not serious people --- just mouthy.

Rush on the other hand is the real deal.

Ah, I see, FT...we're supposed to ignore the One World Order problem because FOX 'sux' and Hannity and Morris are 'clowns'.
What I'm trying to show you here is that, whether they are or not is not the question..what the obama administration is doing IS the question. And THAT TRULY "SUX".

'mouthy'? Imagine if they weren't? Where would we get this information otherwise!??

As if the dollar didn't have enough problems, Timothy Geithner took China's bait yesterday and said he was "quite open" to its suggestion this week to displace the greenback with an "international reserve currency."

Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) specifically questioned Geithner about his position regarding the currency issue. Geithner clearly replied he did not support changing our national currency; he reversed that statement the following day as you have indicated above. Now either Geithner is lying, or he gave false testimony to Congress. Frankly, I would rather have Alfred E. Newman in charge of the Treasury, but I have to ask this question: “Does lying to the American people or members of congress constitute transparency?”

In camera: Where does FT suggest we find out about events on Capitol Hill? MSNBC? Jon Stewart?

Boy I'll tell you Z, that first video really gets my goat! I'm going to get a good link to it and send it to DH. He seems to think we're getting a bit hyperbolic in our criticism of the "chosen one." He even returns my e-mails to argue about it. Geez. Here's a guy who's spent the last 10 years going right into their snake dens to do battle, but because Barack continues the war against allah's merry band of throat slitters, Dave thinks he's a 5 out of 10 (for brevity's sake). G-d help us.

What I enjoy most is the fact that a lot of the right doesn't seem to even grasp the idea of a reserve currency.

Well, when the hysteria dies down and you look at this you will realize that other nations aren't going to finance our debt any longer and they question our ability to control our finances.

Somehow, since the rest of the world isn't ordained, this is not their prerogative. But while you listen to Michelle Bachmann who thinks that Geithner is going to stop printing dollars and substitute the Yuan or something (off the wall) remember that it was your fair haired boy St. Ronnie Raygun who taught us that deficits don't matter, as Cheney said.

The right wing trashes the place and then they whine.

Z, this timeline on Bush and McCain can't be true. The media would have reported this if it were true.

You're not trying to tell me that what we hear on the news is misleading?

Whole world turning upside down

Gotta go rest now, my world has been crushed.

We are very fortunate to have you in our world, Ducky. You are a paragon of intelligence. It is difficult to imagine what might happen to us if we could not rely upon your unchecked superiority complex; you and Barney Frank.

Well, when the hysteria dies down and you look at this you will realize that other nations aren't going to finance our debt any longer and they question our ability to control our finances.

Oh, no ... say it isn't so; reassure us that your president’s economic plan isn’t falling a part! You mean to suggest here in front of everyone that China, Japan, and the Saudis are losing interest in Obama’s rapidly expanding debt (from ten and sixteen trillion dollars)? He seems to be batting a thousand so far. He promised a halt to lay-offs and that hasn’t happened. He promised to arrest the problem with the automakers, and that hasn’t happened. He said he wanted to put Americans back to work, and unemployment is increasing. He wants to make friends with misunderstood Muzzies, and now they’re planning to attack the White House. So what’s your daddy’s plan now, Ducky? You know … if your president truly loved his country, he’d move back there.

You are correct, mustang. "Houston we have a problem".

Treasury auctions have been tepid for a while now and it's pretty clear that we can't throw our weight around at economic summits.

No Europe and Japan are going to be going into debt to try to jump start the world economy along with us and we'll see where this goes. It took a while to trash it so it's going to take a while to dig out but I'm sure you see that the writing is on the wall and we are no longer the only game in town.

Yeah, and he's going to talk to the "muzzies". Your vessels must be bulging.

I'm not very enthusiastic about the "one world" philosophy. What may be perfectly acceptable in one culture is not necessarily so in another.

And here's a concept that the LEFT has COMPLETELY forgotten... the words have become devoid of meaning.

We've got Liberal Ann Curry on THE TODAY SHOW this morning saying the protesters in England are protesting the bad economy (Gee, what did they protest the last twenty years, ANN? Don't look now, but that's not QUITE the reason!)
You've got a liberal on MSNBC this morning saying that "Obama is SO POPULAR HERE, more popular than maybe Clinton or JFK!" Oh. But, Reagan was pretty darned popular, too. Are we just rewriting history on the left like THEY LIKE IT?

Obama's not at all popular by the thinking Brits..they didn't like that we have a president who disses their country...
The Germans called him an 'empty suit' only 3 days after the adoration concert/speech in Berlin (but our media neglected to tell you that)..France is threatening to walk out of the G20, Germany's saying "Leave us ALONE, we pinpointed our financial problems and everything's going much better, we don't WANT to throw huge money around like you're doing"
The Czech (EU Pres) is saying OBama's taking America on a "road to hell"

BOy, he got THAT right.

Ducky's here said...

Well z, I think you are correct that France and Germany are not going to be willing backers of Obama's policies for reasons that have been discussed here.

France and Germany want regulation and plenty of it. As I have said, Larry Summers, Obama's head economic guy, and his cabana boy Timmy want to recover their buddies losses on Wall Street.

Naturally, as a leftist, I'm completely opposed to Summers but with the alternative being wholesale nationalization I don't know why the right is so upset with Obama's decidedly Kapital friendly policies.

As far as the Czech president goes, well, there isn't a government in Eastern Europe that has put into place an economic framework that is going to survive the next couple years. They were good buddies when times were good but now that they realize how much of our crap paper their central banks bought they are changing their tune.

As far as talking to Muslim states well it was inevitable. We need to come up with something in Afghanistan and trying to lock out Iran and Pakistan is pretty damn insane. The only people who would do that are fools who think a military solution is possible.

Z said...

Ducky, I"m not sure what you mean by France and Germany wanting tons of regulation? They want a tightening of regs for banks, as do most people, so something like this won't be quite so easy to happen again.....

Duck...the Eastern Europeans aren't turning against us or capitalism because of our 'crap paper', which you're right about. Eastern Europeans have lived Socialism, many came here to escape it...they're budding capitalists there and can only be appalled and saddened by what happened here. Not turning against the concept because some bad Wall St guys screwed up. If anything, this could be a good experience for those countries to learn from.

I'm somewhat in agreement with your last paragraph, believe it or not. But, I do believe that the islamist mentality mostly ONLY respects MILITARY ACTION. Anybody who believes terrorist types are going to back off because Hillary's making nice-nice hasn't read the link I posted in the comment above yours or doesn't understand the Muslim (largely Arab) mind.

Law and Order Teacher said...

Z,
Advocating talking to terrorists reminds me of the dramatic scenes in movies where the good guy confronts the bad either holding a hostage by gun.

The good guy talks on a human level to the bad guy who promptly drops his weapon and dissolves into tearful apologies. The good guy's the hero, the bad guy isn't such a bad guy after all and gets much needed help. Happy ending.

What happens when the good guy confronts a bad guy who doesn't care about his life, in fact, he wants to die as a martyr?

Japanese soldiers in WWII were not willing to surrender as the US military approached the Japanese islands. Military leaders advised that the US would suffer in the neighborhood of a million casualties if they stormed the islands. This left only the atomic bomb as the option.

There's that history thing again.

The discussion from what-is-supposed-to-be the Right is TOO STRIDENT. Even if they are telling the truth, whatever their motives, it's just too damned LOUD, too close to HYSTERIA.

After a while one just turns off, because the TONE is abrasive, the rhetoric stale, and people like me don't enjoy having their intelligence insulted. It's obnoxious.

Hannity's a loudmouthed boor with limited intelligence. O'Reilly is the same doubled and redoubled in spades, but he's more dangerous, because he IS smart and not merely LOUD. Morris is nothing-but a WHORE --- he'll take ANY position as long as he gets PAID.

The shrieking hysteria and raving on FOX --- add hyper-alarmist Glenn Beck to the list while you're at it --- is doing a great DISSERVICE to the Truth, even if it TELLS the, Truth, because rational people don't like shrieking, roaring theatrics and formulaic jibber-jabber.

And I'm willing to bet that no one enjoyed this post, because I used the SAME tactics I'm complaining about.

SCREAMING and HAND-WRINGING are not good substitutes for THINKING.

So there! ;-)

What happened here? Come on z, get with it. Everyone in the world slept with us and we gave them all a dose.

Eastern Europe has been absolutely hammered. Riots in Hungary and Lithuania. Deep recession everywhere.

Z said...

FT...still,nobody's listening. What do you suggest? I agree that they're strident and angry, but this is a situation which can hardly avoid making any of us feel that way.
Want us to go away?

Ducky, we've ALWAYS led, you blaming everyone for following us?
That SOME capitalists really screwed up doesn't make a country turn to socialism unless it's lost its founders' ideas of freedom and independence. Both things which the E. European countries are attracted to and to which they'll return.

We may never return thanks to a highly over reactive bunch who couldn't wait till things got this bad (and promoted it and lied and mischaracterized to get there) so they could scream THE SKY IS FALLING and go stupid on us and implement things which most Americans DO NOT WANT. Check out the poll numbers, Ducky.

Anonymous said...

Z, not a single capitalist screwed up. Not one.

The entire problem originated in the House and Senate Banking Committee's. And one things certain, those problems are only going to get WORSE over the next two years.

...and FT, screaming and hand wringing are no substitute for a .30 caliber bullet, either. At some point when the thinking stops, the muscles have to take over. The screaming is merely an indicator as to the proximity we are to that point.
