Some "House", huh?

A HOUSE FOR $150 MILLION DOLLARS? Check it out!

56,500 square feet, on 4.6 acres. Aaron Spelling's widow's home....she's bought a $47 million 2-story condo on the top of a Los Angeles high rise instead.... That's some 'scaling down', eh?

Hell, if I could afford it, I'd buy it and lose all my in-laws in it. You could avoid them longer there than you could in the town I grew up in.

At least she knows how to live within her means. LOL. That's some means. Wonder if it's too late to marry Tori. Good thing my wife isn't standing over my shoulder.

I thought it was going to be Al Gores house.

All that for completely debasing the culture.

Not a bad deal.

Whoa! It looks just like Sunset's house. Boy is he going to be po'd.

Times are tough. I hope the poor woman can make the transition.

This is one time I have to agree with Ducky. Imagine that.

MMQC: I think Mr Gore's home has one fewer fireplace.

If they can afford it why not. Maintaining such a home would probably create a few jobs if they're not given to illegals.

Of course if she is typical Hollywood she wants everyone else's property to be redistributed but not hers.

I don't think she'll be suffering...

Makes no never mind to me. I wouldn't have more if Mrs. Spelling had less, and neither would anyone else.

Besides, these are the people who support museums, art galleries, opera houses, local theater....

If I can get them to send me my Stimulus Package; I'd buy it from her. I have enough people family and friends who would move in it with me.

Of course, if I don't my Stimulus; then I guess I'll stay here in the Southeast.

Blessings.

Of course they also "create" The Love Boat and Charlie's Angels.
As for arts funding, the government can easily do that and often has.

Pris, SOME house, though!!

I.H.S...I wish you'd move here!

Ducky...tsk tsk tsk. Such an elitist...only your taste counts, is that right?
Thanks for finally admitting you actually believe WE NEED SOCIALISM. Unreal.

It's My Choice..EXACTLY.

FT...you mean Barney Fwank?

I can't imagine why anyone needs a house that big.

"As for arts funding, the government can easily do that and often has."

Really Ducky? With this President, they'd have to pass muster. The government would own it.

Besides why should my taxes pay for art painted by a chimp?

Do you remember Barishnikov saying, "the government should not control art" ( I paraphrase). He was from the Soviet Union. I know, your idea of paradise!

Of course you think that couldn't happen here. But wait, our own government is telling car companies what kind of cars to make. Fancy that!

Ducky, about the Spelling mansion. How does that impact your life or anyone else's except to elicit envy, which is your problem, not the Spellings' and not mine, for that matter.

What do you want Ducky, a boring sameness? No individual expression? No differences?

Just a sterile, joyless place of indifference, is that what you want? Have you ever thought this through? I wonder.

Yes Z, some house. Can't even call it a house. It would be fun to have a walk through wouldn't it?

Pris

sue, I can't either....In fact, it needs a full time staff which I'd resent being in the house all the time.

Pris..Ducky's just announced, openly, that WE NEED SOCIALISM. enough said, huh?

and yes, it would be fun to walk through..and then leave. I like cozy!

No, Pris, the Spelling mansion and other similar phenomena do not inspire envy in me at all. What I feel is DISGST at the wretched excess and sheer ostentation.

I love wealth and the trappings that used to go with it, but in latter years the concepts of good taste and refinement have been trashed by vulgarians who have no idea how to make intelligent use of their money.

Would I forbid them to build their Temples to Vanity and Greed? Of course not, it's still a free country, but by the same token I reserve the right to denounce their excesses for what they are -- an abominable waste of resources.

SUGGESTION:

Someone should turn it into a luxury B&B.

Wouldn't have to change a thing.

Rooms would go for at least a thousand a night.

Just perfect for the Nouveau Riche who like to pretend they have class, but who don't even know what "class" is.

PS: People who really have class NEVER use the word.

So shame on me! ;-)
