Darn, I had a post all prepared since having seen Congresswoman Nita Lowey(D-NY) on television this morning telling the world America's gun laws make it so easy for Mexicans to get guns in this country and take them back there that we are the big problem. "Our gun laws are the problem."
I thought to myself "Wow, I know NOBODY who got their gun easily, TRUST me, lady...but, this is fascinating! Is this from Eric Holder, the new 'memo'? Is there a Holder Memo which says: 'Americans still like their guns no matter what we do, and we have to stop that, and Conservatives are the ones fighting losing their guns AND fighting for better control of the borders, SO...let's blame the border problem on OUR GUN LAWS and we'll finally have reason even the Conservatives might buy!" Clever, eh? Well, not so much. Because, while researching for this post, I found this information that REALLY nails the situation and you'll want to check it out. What more could I possibly say?
But, I still think my angle's worth consideration. And, we'll have to FIX THIS FAST because the ILLEGAL BORDER SKY IS FALLING TODAY, and so, again, the liberal congress will try to implement EVEN MORE stringent gun laws (forget all the FACTS in the linked article, right?) and we'll be toast. Can you say "send us your guns"? "Oh, and by the way, we ARE arming Obama's civilian corps....hope that's okay with YOU! heh heh!" (wait for it)
Here's what happened and this administration's 'solution':
AIG did bad....Hey, maybe even FIVE corporations did bad!: NEW LAWS REGULATING ALL CORPORATIONS IN THE COUNTRY MUST BE IN PLACE...and NOW, man!
OOPS! EXECUTIVES GOT BONUSES THAT WERE IN THEIR CONTRACTS! (too high or not is an arguable point but not part of this point): NEW REGULATIONS MUST BE PUT IN PLACE - 90% OF THAT MONEY NEEDS TO BE TAXED!.....and NOW, man!
AMERICAN EXECS GET HUGE SALARIES and WE OWN THEM, so: PUT A CAP ON AMERICAN EXECUTIVE SALARIES...WE'LL DECIDE HOW MUCH...and NOW, man!
KYOTO'S WAITING TO BE SIGNED: WE HAVE TO GET IN LINE WITH THE U.N. BECAUSE WE ARE SO GUILTY OF POLLUTING THE WORLD! QUICK, QUICK, New York City's going to drown next month: NEW LAWS MUST BE IN LINE WITH THE WORLD...AND NOW, man!
WHAT THE ..........................? Slow down...let's get THE FACTS first. Hear and respect ALL SIDES. THEN DECIDE. Stop using EVERY disaster as a springboard for ignoring facts and sanity.

I think you nailed the situation as it stands today. Somehow liberal guilt will force us to make amends for all the past sins of those evil Europeans who caused the fall of those noble savage civilizations that were already here.
Don't allow facts to get in the way. Slavery and human sacrifice were common among tribes. If the NAs could have put aside their intertribal hatred long enough to take on the first Europeans, they could have driven them back into the sea.
Metacom in the King Phillip's War, 1675-6 came close to bringing together a fighting force, but the differences were too great. Tecumseh, too, allied great tribes around the time of the War of 1812, but he too could not overcome the intertribal hatred.
So, it's all the evil Europeans fault, because he brought Christianity, racism, disease, guns, horses, literacy, education, inventiveness, progressive government, the rule of law, the industrial revolution, pollution, global warming, and just all around progress and misery to the peace-loving NAs.
From the liberal point of view, the world would have been better off if the Europeans had been blown off course or perished at sea.
Kind of makes you wonder what these people want doesn't it? Maybe the Europeans should have stayed in Europe making films or something.
Having walked through various sections of Tijuana last year, all I can say is show me the store you can easily purchase full auto AK-47s.

I've been to every gun store I can find within 100 miles of me and every gun show that comes anywhere near me and have yet to see any full-auto weaponry for sale. Once again, BAD GUYS getting guns ILLEGALLY has absolutely nothing to do with honest and good people who love guns and buy and sell them. GO AFTER THE CRIMINALS!!!

And while that is important information for the American people to know to stop this new gun control sham, it certainly is not information that will catch the Dems unaware. This a fabricated excuse to renew the assalt weapons ban. It is irrelevant to these tyrants where these guns came from, they intend to use it to deprive us of the wherewithal to defend ourselves from them.
Sickening, but par for the Democrat course. I'm sure you've also seen where our illustrious leader has demanded that the GM CEO step down.....AND HE DID! When has an American president ever taken that kind of power grab before? Not even Slick Willie.

Jake DeSantis is a good guy who, like many on Wall Street, is honest and decent. I know a site like "Smirking Chimp", where this was written, wouldn't recognize that, but, really, to present this as a reasoned, open minded piece is just plain silly. To accept this man over DeSantis, who had no need to write the piece other than to finally lend another viewpoint to the "THEY'RE ALL EVIL" the WH and biased sites like the one you presented, is close minded and, well...typical of the hubris of the left.
