Have a wonderful Sunday, everyone......and remember....

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose."

Why didn't I know this two days ago when I was upset about us being late with a house payment? Yesterday the Gentleman we're buying it from told my Wife he understands, I'm laid off. He's willing to work with us, "God works for the good of those who love him."

A good Sabbath to you.

David, how wonderful that the man's willing to wait. What a wonderful example of that scripture. Thanks! And, of course, all the best to you.

Christopher, it's been fun reading your blog and I encourage more and more others to come see! Thanks for coming by here.

Wordsmith..thanks...you, too.

Elbro; A VERY good Sabbath to you, too!

One of my very favorite verses, Z.

It has proven true over and over. In the midst of trials I remind myself to look back and see how God has worked. He knows the big picture.

Have a peaceful Sunday.

Thanks for a necessary reminder.

My brother-in-law had quintuple heart bypass surgery two weeks ago and overcame that and serious complications. He will be going home in a couple of days.

When we spoke to him today, he said he knows that it's the prayers that got him through. So, as you can see, our family is thanking God today for hearing and answering our prayers.

29For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
31What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

A happy and beautiful Sunday to you my friend!!!

You know, Z, I appreciate this wonderful reminder as well. The wonderful truth of being a believer in Christ is that even when things seem to go all against us & our prayers seem to bounce off the ceiling, still the Lord works all those things, seeming good & seeming bad, together for His glory & our good. Nothing is wasted in the Christian life, as opposed to those outside of Christ. All the world has is this life, & when it's over, all that's left is judgment (Heb.9:27). But we have this life & the next! This life is simply a testing ground, so to speak, for the next. We can learn from our sins & mistakes & grow from the hard times & rejoice in the good ones. As Paul victoriously said in 2 Corinthians (my favorite Book!) "who is sufficient for these things?"
God Bless you for this wonderful reminder!

WOW, what FANtastic comments..thanks a lot. You guys inspire me.

I just felt this verse was important: it always is, of course, but it's more important now with all the troubles we're facing.

Try memorizing this (If I can, YOU can, TRUST ME) and say it to yourself when things get tough...say it a few times and see how much better you feel. I wouldn't have believed it, but...

Also "For I, the Lord thy God, will take you by the right hand and say unto thee: Fear Not. I will help you" Doesn't get much better than that!

Nice, huh?

Pris, SO glad to hear the bro-in-law's out of the woods and that he felt the prayers.

Z, all those fires we are seeing on the television aren't anywhere near you, are they? I hope not.

Z said...

hermit, thanks SO much for asking..no, not near us, but you probably realize how very far the smell of smoke and even ashes can go. Quiet weird, considering how far they are... I was just thinking how it still smells like fire outside.
