Ramos and Compean still in jail? PARDON me?

No agenda in this Yahoo news article, huh? (read to the end, it's pretty amazing)
Bush is pardoning people........anybody think he'll pardon the two border patrol agents, Ramos and Compean? Yes, there were circumstances which were questionable and we should question what happened, but what a terrible message their incarceration has sent.....

Think he'll pardon them? Who wants to place a bet? It's Thanksgiving..we should give thanks to those guys, not keep them locked up.

I hope Bush will pardon them.

We should all call or e-mail (or both), the White House. I do hope other blogs take up this cause to free Ramos and Compean.

These men were doing their job, and had to react instantly to the situation. They didn't kill anyone, they didn't premeditate what transpired.

They wounded an illegal alien who is a drug dealer, whom they thought was armed and was fleeing.

There are gang members walking the streets today who have spent little time in jail for doing far worse than these Border Agents who were enforcing the law.

Our previous President disgracefully, pardoned Puerto Rican terrorists, and Marc Rich who is a fugitive from justice.

Surely if President Bush is the "compassionate conservative" he purports to be, he will free these two men who, IMO, have suffered an injustice.

GM Roper has an excellent rant on this too. My comments there equal yours here. Great minds think alike.

I would hope he would pardon them. But on the other hand it would fly in the face of his threats to subdue the border patrol from doing their jobs. The longer G.W. stays in office the more I regret gore not winning.

I'm with you Z, let them go. We let child molesters off with less time then these men are getting.

I bet he doesn't. This issue got NO press on the campaign trail. What a shame.
These families have suffered greatly, and I think GW Bush should be ashamed.

he may not.... though if he's pardoning some of those others.. he should these men.

Hope he does pardon them. There are too many out there in the world getting away with so much injustice and these two are being punished for just doing their jobs. Just shameful.

Bush is COMPLETELY out of touch with his party's constituents. COMPLETELY. Always has been. Always will be. Bush does what Bush wants to do. Period.

Nope, won't do it. If he hasn't done it by now, he won't do it before the end of his term. He's simply an Open Borders man, period.

I just posted on this, too! LOL!

No way will Bush pardon Ramos and Compean. He's said before that his "buddy Johnny Sutton" handled the case and he won't revisit it.

Those two men are political prisoners.

Brooke..I'm beginning to feel WE are 'political prisoners', too.

BZ is right..Bush does what HE wants to do. Friends are important to him....from what we hear. I wonder how much better an administration he'd have had if he'd picked the best people instead of the best friends......we all suffered for that.

The continued incarceration of Ramos and Campean is, possibly, the biggest disgrace of the second Bush Administration.

Those men were only doing their DUTY --- what they were HIRED to do.

The idea of prosecuting and persecuting our policemen and soldiers for doing their DUTY is beyond sickening.

I do not believe in the concept of "War Crimes", "Hate Crimes" and certainly not "Thought Crimes."

Nor do I buy the concept of "Date Rape."

And unless there is clear PROOF on VIDEOTAPE or irrefutable DNA evidence, I do not believe in acting on allegations of CHILD ABUSE either --- ESPECIALLY not when made decades later from so-called "recovered memories."

These issues may SEEM unrelated or loosely related at best, but they are all symptoms of the leftist mentality that would have us believe up is down, left is right, good is bad, disease is health, theft is justified, wealth is evil, defense is aggression and criminals are "victims" of an "unjust" society.

We MUST get back to COMMON SENSE that tells us BLACK is DARK, OBSCURE, DINGY, DANGEROUS filled with EVIL POTENTIAL while WHITE is BRIGHT, CLEAR and FULL of LIGHT that nourishes CROPS and exposes TRUTH.

Anonymous, you had me till you started in on the other stuff. Date rape? Definately happens. War crimes? Ask a jew. Child abuse? Personal experience says it's damn true. (I will say that "recovered memories" are suspect but that's as far as I'll go.) As for hate crimes and thought crimes....I'm with you there. I've never known anyone to bludgeon another man to death for any other reason than hate. Regarless of color, creed, or sexuality. You cannot legislate what a man is thinking. You can only legislate against certain actions.

No one on these blogs sits farther to the right than I. But dude you gotta start thinking before you apply things to print. I too believe that there is too much of a victim mentality in this country, but there are some things that cannot be allowed. To allow that there is no date rape, child molestation, or war crimes is to ignore the truth because you are having a knee jerk reaction to a percieved injustice.

Z- Thanks for posting about this! The horrible injustice of their convictions can be rivaled only by the ignorance of those in power who have done nothing to have them overturned. May God be with them and their families during this the season of miracles.
