Carl Cameron.....you said WHAT? and a Shep Smith UPDATE

Just heard on FOX..."EVEN the Tea Partiers themselves are DENOUNCING the death threats to Politicians on Capitol Hill!"

"EVEN the Tea Partiers?" REALLY? EVEN THEM? Meaning what, Carl Cameron?
No news on Yahoo homepage yet, but Steny Hoyer is saying some politicians are getting death threats....unsubstantiated by Capitol Police but definitely being investigated, as it should.

Heck, EVEN TEA PARTIERS don't like that idea! wow

UPDATE: Pris's son sent an email regarding what Shepard Smith also said on FOX during his show this afternoon (when he interviewed Cameron). (That's Shep Smith, never to be mistaken for a Conservative on FOX, of course....)

Apparently, Shep was aghast at the (unsubstantiated) rumor that politicians were threatened over their votes for the Health Care Bill......."Why would anyone do such a thing over just a vote?"

Pris's son replies ...."Shep Smith's characterization of Sunday as "just a vote" is troubling........While death threats are also troubling, it's our President and Congress that first threatened us ALL."

He had more in his email and made great sense (including "Smith fails to realize that when OUR Government refuses to act in accordance with our founding document, let alone PERSISTS on stripping us of the freedoms our Forefathers and countless numbers of Americans have died for, what does our Government expect? The fact that we have become far too tolerant for far too long is what has landed us in the mess we currently find ourselves in.") but I thought those last two sentences I highlighted said it all, don't you? Thanks, Pris and Son!

Was there ANYthing substantiated about pols doing the walk to the Capitol being called the N word? I have found nothing. I got death threats all the time; still the occasional one. However, I didn't have the present ability to ruin the entire Amerikan economy.

It's getting nasty out there, z.

Frankly I don't understand why the reaction to the health bill is so intense. I think it's symbolic and we have such a deep division now that there is going to be some violence before we clear the air.

What's new on the right is hate mongers like Beck and Limbaugh absolutely getting a thrill out of ratcheting up the true crazies.

Ducky's here said...

Come on Zeppelin, man up. You know this crap is going down. Just read Greywolfe's blog. The dogs have been let loose.

former militia leader Mike Vanderboegh called for anti-Democratic vandalism across the country to protest the health care bill.

Vanderboegh posted the call for action Friday on his blog, “Sipsey Street Irregulars.” Referring to the health care reform bill as “Nancy Pelosi’s Intolerable Act,” he told followers to send a message to Democrats.

“We can break their windows,” he said. “Break them NOW. And if we do a proper job, if we break the windows of hundreds, thousands, of Democrat party headquarters across this country, we might just wake up enough of them to make defending ourselves at the muzzle of a rifle unnecessary.”

------------------

Didn't play in the 60's real well. Trust me, it was dumb but if you folk want to go all Weather Underground then remember we have the Patriot Act come round to bite you.

We should all be MUCH more concerned about DEBT THREATS than Death Threats.

PERIOD!

Unless someone is actually KILLED it's just idle chatter.

We don't need Beck or Limbaugh to make us irate. We think for ourselves. Furthermore, if truth be known both these men undoubtedly get death threats all the time.

There are people out there, who are unstable, 24/7, every day, 365 days a year.

Ducky, something would be wrong if it wasn't getting nasty. We are losing our freedom, and our country is being destroyed by our own government. What the hell did you think would happen?

Did you think we'd be led ny the nose into oblivion? Really, did you think that? Can you see what this power grab means? I think you can. This is what you've wanted or thought you wanted all along.

You've probably wasted your life ever since college buying into this evil, and never gave a thought to the possibility you could be wrong.

Details are coming out about this bill which takes control of our lives, has the power to confiscate our money without our having any recourse, and submits our children to a bleak future of debt and oppression.

And you don't understand? If you think there's a deep division now, your side can keep up what you're doing, and the division will be irreparable.

Here's a nice aside: Not only are our representatives exempt from this takeover, but all their staffs. Isn't that special?

Finally, the elitists in Washington, media, hollywood, with their sanctimonious air of superiority, say in the open, that the American people are stupid. That we don't know what's good for us.

Funny, we've done alright since our country was founded. All we did was build the most free, prosperous country in history, that's how stupid we are.

And we're not going gently into that good night. We'll fight you every step of the way. Yes, we will, we stupid people who have the temerity to love our country, and who are given our rights by our creator.

That's right, Pris. We are making health insurance more widely available.

Sure sign we're headed to hell.

I'd calm down because if it escalates you're going to be put down like mad dogs.

I see the Duckhead is off his meds again.

Z, have you noticed a very common theme in all of this? The word "alleged" keeps coming up a lot but we have yet to hear words like "proof" or "substantiated". I think other than Slaughter's office being vandalized (let me just mention for any leftist idiots reading this that the left has been doing this to GOP offices and recruiting centers for years), there has been nothing but the Dims saying this has happened.

Take the Tea Party protest Saturday as an example. There has yet been one single shred of evidence that the events that were supposed to have transpired actually did.

While there are clearly nuts on both sides, and there has likely been some incidents, I think a lot of it is horseshit. I think it is not much more than baseless accusations by the left to cover for their trampling of the US Constitution.

Like I said, the left has been doing this for years. Go back and read about the nonsense they pull at any Republican National Convention when you have friends of the fowl out throwing urine on attendees, or spitting on them, or physically assaulting Ann Coulter, or chasing Michelle Malkin down the street verbally terrorizing her.

The difference now is that it is the left being targeted instead of the right and the media will report it as a national tragedy after ignoring the activities of the left for years.

Ducky: do the Logical Extension. People are getting scared. YOU man up. There must be a reason that fully 2/3rds of new gun purchases at gun shows are WOMEN. And it's just that: words. The government is moving from simply tone deaf to completely deaf. What part of WE CAN'T AFFORD THIS do you simply NOT understand, sir?

Ducky's here said...

First of all, I believe we can afford it. It's important that we have compulsory enrollment and limiting Medicare Advantage is a good compromise.
I doubt Rush and Glenn went into that.

Now, the bed wetters were cool about affording the Iraq and Afghanistan fiascoes and keeping the expense off the books. That was one honest change Obama made. The cost is made explicit and no more finessing with supplementals but then the right all of a sudden discovers deficits.

Yeah, we're broke. But this insurance bill didn't do that and isn't going to change much. Meanwhile, it's a good thing to extend coverage and will benefit us in the long run.
Let me know when the right can talk about end of life care, as we have to eventually, without starting to yell about 'death panels" and otherwise acting like a bunch of retarded idiots.

Look, you're scared, fine. Buy a gun. Anything but act like a rational individual, that's the right wing way.

Deficit:

Bush tax cuts

Lower economic growth

Iraq/Afghanistan on the books

Stimulus

Now, the stimulus is about 10-15 percent of the total and that's all you whine about and yet you expect to be taken seriously.

Get a grip. China owns us anyway.

You'd think a representative of the left such as Ducky would take at least a little bit of time to try to fool someone into thinking he has an intellectual opinion. Now we all know Ducky doesn't have a snowball's chance in Hell of impressing even a bowl of oatmeal with his intellect, but there should be a noticible effort before his epic failure, and Ducky doesn't even give us that.

Now those of us who have an attention span longer than 30 seconds remember Republican campaign precincts in the 2004, 2006, and 2008 elections being vandalized and fired upon as well as Black Panther thugs intimidating voters at the polls. We remember arrests of leftists in anti-war protests that were carrying Molotov cocktails.

So when Ducky says "it's getting nasty out there" because black Congressmen are pissing themselves over hallucinations of racism, do we write it off as Ducky coming up from behind the curve perennially slow on the uptake, or do we laugh him off and tell him to go back to drawing Hitler moustaches on portraits of Bush and pipe down while the adults are talking?

Anonymous said...

"I'd calm down because if it escalates you're going to be put down like mad dogs."

Ducky, in my worst moments, I'm more rational than you. And don't you tell me to calm down. Anger does not translate to violence.

Righteous anger, channeled properly, can accomplish good things. It's called passion.

And don't you threaten me either, you little wimp. Who's going to "put us down" Ducky. You know something we don't know?

"Act like a rational individual, that's the right wing way."

By this I take it you want the American people to "go along to get along" is that right? Yes, be good little boys and girls, and shut up, is that what you mean?

I know the left would love for us to be violent. They're looking for it, they're implying we are. They're implying it's because Obama's black.

Hmmmm, that sounds like someone trying to start something. Oh, it was a democrat in Congress that said it. Imagine that. The race card rears it's ugly head.

Nice try. Use the black people like you have for decades. How pathetic and cowardly you people are.

PART ONE

Letter to an expatriate who's liven in France since 1968 an d loves it. Another friend of the same vintage -- a radical Pelosi-fan lunatic with a heart of gold -- received this at the same time.

On Mar 24, 2010, at 2:05 AM, T. wrote while vacationing in Goa:

Good morning, FT,

We have free internet here, so I catch up on my emails every morning, before a swim in the Arabian Sea ...

What happened last Sunday that is such a catastrophe for people with homes and investment capital? We don't have a TV here, and have not had any news from the "outside world" for five days now. Please fill me in. - T

Dear, T and S,

The USA adopted a 2,700-page bill radically transforming our system of medical care last Sunday by the narrowest of margins. Not one Republican supported the bill. The fate of the nation has been determined by four individuals who were bribed to vote for a bill they publicly denounced. No one involved fully comprehends the bill, yet it passed and was signed into law by Obama, despite fierce, highly vocal public opposition from 60-70% of the voting population.

I, myself, spent two weeks making incessant rounds of calls to every member of congress whose position was said to be in doubt. The lines were constantly JAMMED. I made the rounds at least seven times to sixty-or more members, and got through only to a dozen after incredible persistence. News reports from several sources said at least 100,000 people an HOUR were trying to reach congress 'round the clock. I doubt very much if many of them were calling to SUPPORT the bill that thumbed its nose in the face of a good TWO-THIRDS of the populace.

I know you love the French system, T., but what we have done here will not give us what you believe you have. Instead, it will transfer absolute control of one-sixth of our economy to government. It will mean that government -- not individuals and their doctors and local hospitals -- will DICTATE what kind of treatment we are to be allowed, how much treatment, and when it is time to "pull the plug." In short we have just effectively lost ALL control over our own lives.

Like it or not we have been taken over by a group of crafty, manipulative, wholly deceptive, ruthless and fanatically dedicated Marxist-Leninists. Obama's background -- and that of ALL his closest associates and his strongest supporters in congress -- is Marxist-Leninist-Maoist in its orientation.

“Absolute power corrupts absolutely” no matter how benign its stated intentions may be.

No matter what it may seem to its ardent supporters, at root this -- and every other part of Obama's agenda -- is designed primarily to create and hold ever greater amounts of centralized power. We have, effectively lapsed into dictatorship.

PART TWO

Representative government, as outlined in our Constitution, was fatally wounded by the events of the past few weeks.

Unless by some miracle the travesty that took place last Sunday can be rescinded (very unlikely!), we are now prey to having our savings and investments virtually confiscated and our property taxed so high that we will be forced eventually to abandon our homes -- all at the whim of an almighty, pseudo-benignant central government.

The goal of Marxists has always been to DESTROY the ownership of private property, DESTROY the possibility of accumulate private wealth, DESTROY any hope of passing one's assets on to selected heirs, DESTROY any lingering belief in God, and ultimately to DESTROY even the MEMORY of how things used to be. Marxism is diametrically opposed to FREEDOM.

Historical revisionism has already moved us very far in this direction. We are at the stage now where the great icons and guiding lights from the past are routinely besmirched, belittled and dismissed as "irrelevant." I can easily foresee the time when owning books published before -- let us say -- 1970 -- will be made illegal. Public libraries will be stripped of their present contents most of which will be burned. "Revised" versions that support the dictates and totalitarian philosophy of the State will be put in their place. Or, perhaps, printed matter will cease to exist altogether, and we will live in a heavily monitored, supervised, censored version of cyber-space?

Anything "red" -- and believe me, the USA is now a deep shade of "pink," and getting closer to flaming "scarlet" every day -- anything that smacks of Marxist-Leninist-Socialist-Liberal-Progressivist thinking ABHORS free speech, ABHORS independence and wishes to monitor, police and CONTROL virtually EVERY human activity including THOUGHT, and thus DESTROY all freedom of choice.

Don't believe me? Please revisit Orwell's Animal Farm and 1984.

PART THREE

Once "The Party" takes over, the party most Americans have been enjoying all their lives will be over.

Welcome to A World United Under the Yoke of Socialist Tyranny administered by a small, self-appointed oligarchy of international banking and industrial elites, and rude potentates whose countries are major suppliers of raw materials.

Eventually, at the rate we are "progressing" (pun fully intended) we will be forced at virtual gunpoint to live in limited spaces "they" assign us, eat what "they" tell us to, dress in a manner "they" deem appropriate, work till we die, because there will be no more "retirement," and travel only when transported somewhere to serve the interests of the ALMIGHTY and EVER-LIVING WORLDWIDE STATE.

I'm sorry to give you such a message when you're having a lovely time, but you did ask.

I included S. in this message, even though I am well aware she vehemently opposes just about everything I've said, because we are all very old friends, and should on rare occasions let each other know where we stand on fundamental principles and why.

But don't either of you listen to ME. Instead, please read ORWELL. Also "The Machine Stops" by E.M. Forster -- another wise, chillingly prophetic work published in 1909.

I would be less frightened and less dismayed if one of our cities had just been destroyed by a hydrogen bomb.

PART FOUR

We now suffer from the moral equivalent of terminal cancer. I'll leave you with a few Words from the Wise starting with two quotations from the Golden Age of ancient Greece:

"The people have always some champion whom they set over them and nurse into greatness . . . This and no other is the root from which a tyrant springs. When he first appears, he is a Protector. . . In the early days of his power he is full of smiles. . . When the tyrant has disposed of foreign enemies . . . and there is nothing to fear from them, then he is always stirring up some war or other in order that the people may require a leader. . . Has he not also another object . . . that they may be impoverished by taxes and thus compelled to devote themselves to their daily wants and [be] therefore less likely to conspire against him?"

~ Plato (427-347 B. C.)

"Like the diet prescribed by doctors, which neither restores the strength of the patient nor allows him to succumb, so these doles that you are now distributing, neither suffice to ensure your safety nor allow you to renounce them and try something else."

~ Demosthenes (384-322 B. C.)

And last but not least from one of our recently-besmirched Founders:

"If we can prevent government from wasting the labors of the people, under the pretense of taking care of them, they must become happy."

"It would be a dangerous delusion were a confidence in the men of our choice to silence our fears for the safety of our rights: that confidence is everywhere the parent of despotism – free government is founded on jealousy, and not in confidence which prescribes limited constitutions . . . In questions of power then, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him from mischief by the chains of the Constitution."

"I place economy among the first and most important virtues, and public debt as the greatest danger to be feared."

"When we consider that this government is charged with the external and mutual relations of these states; that the states themselves have principle care of our persons, our property and our reputation, constituting the great field of human concerns, we may well doubt whether our organization is not too complicated, too expensive; whether offices and officers have not multiplied unnecessarily, and sometimes injuriously, to the service they were meant to promote."

~ Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826)

“The lesson we learn from history is that we learn NOTHING from history.”

"Plus ca change plus ca la meme chose."

Bitterly, but with deepest affection,

~ FreeThinke

Rush Limbaugh says it all

"We need to defeat these bastards. We need to wipe them out. We need to chase them out of town. [...] “They must my friends, be hounded out of office. Every single Democrat who voted for this needs to know, safe district or not, they are going to be exposed and hassled and chased from office."

I think his tea party followers are heading his message. They are starting to post home addresses of congressmen they don't like so people can "drop by and chat" (translation: cut their gas lines, throw bricks in their windows, threaten their kids)

I'm posting this as "anonymous"
Like they have to do in Red China

Why are the pols and traitors of today...any different then King George's troops of yesterday? Patriots and those who desired freedom then...are the same as people today. Have we lost our sense of how we became a nation?

Why are we so afraid to fight back...like we did before?

We are...like the French...before Bastille Day.

I know a few former soldiers that are willing to defend the Constitution...just as they were asked to do for freaking Iraqi or Afgan savages. Let the resistance begin.

Hamster said...

I think you guys need to step back and have a reality check.
First of all, after the dust settles, this bill isn't going to change the face of America.
You'll continue to go to work everyday, have lunch with your friends, watch tv at night, eat out occasionally and go to church on Sunday.
Life will be no different than it was under president Bush when he signed into law the Perscription Drug Improvement act which obligated the taxpayer to borrow 50 billion dollars a year to help senior citizens pay for their prescription drugs instead of buying them from Canada.
Sure, the government is now obligated to pay 50 billion dollars each year to pay for drugs for seniors.
Sure it's deficit spending.
Sure it's government intrusion into the free market.
Sure it's obligating taxpayers to pay for something they might not want to pay for.

But, hey. That's how our country works. Our elected representatives go to washington, they vote and tell us how they are going to spend our money.

We might not like the war in Iraq, we may not like paying for health care, we may object to being forced to pay social security taxes from our hard earned income.

But hey. That's the price we pay for living in a society. Everyone else can go live in the forest.

So rather than to call each other names and accuse each other of destroying American...suck up and live with it.

In a democratic society you can't win all the time.

No need to throw bricks, spit, cut gas lines or threaten people's families.

Just go to the polls next time and express your anger there. That's the best example we can set for our children

Anonymous said...

"Just go to the polls next time and express your anger there."

So...you think the illegal mutts and the "poor, forever needy" for the last 50 years are going to vote out the scumbags that provide all the freebies that 80% of us pay for? Keep watching TV...ignoramus.

lovelyprism said...

What do they expect? It wouldn't surprise me if they were indeed receiving death threats. They have asked and they have listened and they have CHOSEN to ignore our wishes. I don't think violence will fix anything, but would it really surprise anyone?

Z said...

You know, Hamster, I wish that were true. I've lived in this kind of medicine, in France and Germany, and it stinks. And there are long waits, and we're going to lose doctors and we now have 30 million more who'll be sharing that shrinking numbers of docs WITH us...how do you think that's going to work without either long waits or rationing?
This is unconstitutional... and I haven't called anybody terrible names, we just want our country back.
We want an America where our kids aren't taught to go to big government at every turn....why's that too much to ask?
What kind of spirit of success do we give our kids when they know their success will be eaten up by the neighbor who isn't working?

Sure, some will get insurance because they're poor and all of us who are working hard will not get the freebies......

And, I hate the lies. To even suggest we can keep our private insurance is absolutely insane and it almost scares me that a president doesn't understand that (as if he didn't!)....the ins. companies will have to close because they can't survive with the conditions that we're approaching...no way.

Thanks for your ever so wise and sensible counsel...it just isn't quite right. and it's not of the American spirit.
Let's do what the Republicans wanted to do...start incrementally trying to help........
I have to hand it to the Dems that they did include the Rep ideas of coops for small business and tax credits for insuring ourselves, but other than that, they didn't much listen "can't offend the lawyer lobby with tort reform"

The American gov't's in charge of the Post OFfice and Medicare and Social Security........if that's any indication of health care...we're in HUGE TROUBLE... nothing to be calm about.
We're going to fight in every legal and nonviolent way possible.

America's worth it.

FrogBurger said...

Thanks, Z. Hamster doesn't get it.
France had full employement in the 60s and 70s, then the left started its work with social programs, started in 76 but made a lot bigger with Mitterrand in 1981. Now 10% unemployement is the rule. And publication has brainwashed French minds.

We're in a democracy but that's no reason to take the abuse. Because the left is not interested in democracy. It's interested in making everybody equally miserable.

FrogBurger said...

I meant public education instead of publication. I'm working too much these days ;-) Gotta pay those taxes to finance healthcare reform.

Z said...

"And public education has brainwashed French minds."

And, oh, FB, has it done that HERE, too.
No other countrymen, especially celebs, go to other countries and bash their own....and they learn that from school, that willingness to put America up to ridicule.

I'll never understand Americans who seem to WANT to insult OURSELVES, as the left does....teaching our children all of America's ills while neglecting to teach them our ills are FAR healthier than other countries' ills... teaching ENTITLEMENT, as you said, teaching big government is the answer.......

it's sickening and it's here to stay because good conservatives don't get on school boards, textbook committees, etc.
A friend is a conservative who was in education and actually did sit on some textbook councils..she told me she was embarrassed to speak out against the leftwing pushiness ...
now look what we've got ...
