A friend in China just told me my blog link is blocked there! How cool is THAT? :)
I emailed back that I'm flattered!! HA! Update: Okay, okay...commenters are telling me BLOGGER's blocked from China...Darn. BUT !!! I refuse to believe it's this. I am going to continue to believe that it's MY BLOG blocked for foreign intrusion and I'm a huge threat to China. Mr. Z would love that :-) I hope YOU'd love to read about HIM...please see below!!

Google, who owns Blogger, has partially withdrawn from China.

Blogger has been blocked by China for a long time.

It's a futile effort to censor the internet, as anyone in the world can access a proxy server that can access "banned" sites with a redirect.

If you're in China and you want to read Blogger blogs, find an anonymous proxy server. They spring up faster than China (or anyone) can shut them down.

[That''s also a way to get around parental controls and filters on your employer's computer... so don't get caught ;)]

I can't believe the comrades would block my commentary.

Ducky, anybody in their right mind would block your commentary. I've tried for years :-)

Alright, children!

I just hope our country isn't going the same way as China, but I wouldn't put a bet on it.

You're awesome. It's my goal to be blocked by communists and socialists. Actually what I'm really striving for is to get called out by the White House. I had my hopes up during the "fishy" episode of 2009, but apprently nobody reported me.

HA!!"awesome", I love that!!! Thanks!

By the way...how weird is THIS? I get that email TODAY saying "your blog is blocked in China" and ON THE RADIO THIS AFTERNOON, they're talking about GOogle and Blogger and China!

See? What would you guys do FOR NEWS without MEEEEE? (yes, I'm laughin' here!)

Love you guys..thanks for coming by.xxx

Z: off topic -- I really don't think the Demorats realize that they have begun to kick the proverbial Slumbering Giant -- and the giant is slowly awakening.

When it's fully awake -- it won't be pleasant or courteous or couth.

For all of you who haven't been put on the Communits' banned list, I want you to know that I am very disappointed with you and expect a little more effort out of you.

You guys are all SO GREAT and FUNNY! I'm reading these "you go girl, you Chinese threat, you" comments and laughing my tail off!
AS IF my soft little blog WAS a real threat...but, ya know, I kinda like to think it!! GRRRR!!!

Fine, Beamish. The Chinese censorship is like the free space in bingo. If you want to prove yourself, how 'bout you get Paul Krugman to write an op-ed piece denouncing you as a racist.

ROFLMAO!

Dear Mr. Krugman,

I think Newt Gingrinch would make a fine Secretary of State in the next Republican Presidency.

Sincerely,

Apparently, my blog is blocked by the public library in Santa Monica, California. So a blogger friend told me.

Z said...

REALLY? I should go over and check that out. And BITCH, good and loud!!

Z, I think you scooped Tina Brown on this topic—she only got to it today!

There's an interesting post on TDB that comes from her "Chinese correspondent" about this exact subject and how internet users are getting around it.

Always the age old struggle of freedom against tyrants. We never hear of the Chinese people seeking freedom out from under the jackboot of socialism. Too bad so many in what was once the free world didn't take the subject more seriously and step out against those embracing tyranny.
