Tea Partiers win over Congress.....take a look:

This article is from RASMUSSEN REPORTS....

In official Washington, some consider the Tea Party movement a fringe element in society, but voters across the nation feel closer to the Tea Party movement than they do to Congress.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 52% of U.S. voters believe the average member of the Tea Party movement has a better understanding of the issues facing America today than the average member of Congress. Only 30% believe that those in Congress have a better understanding of the key issues facing the nation.

When it comes to those issues, 47% think that their own political views are closer to those of the average Tea Party member than to the views of the average member of Congress. On this point, 26% feel closer to Congress.

Finally, 46% of voters say that the average Tea Party member is more ethical than the average member of Congress. Twenty-seven percent (27%) say that the average

As you would expect, there is a wide divide between the Political Class and Mainstream Americans on these questions. Seventy-five percent (75%) of those in the Political Class say that members of Congress are better informed on the issues. Among Mainstream Americans, 68% have the opposite view, and only 16% believe Congress is better informed.

By a 62% to 12% margin, Mainstream Americans say the Tea Party is closer to their views. By a 90% to one percent (1%) margin, the Political Class feels closer to Congress.

“The gap between Americans who want to govern themselves and politicians who want to rule over them may be as big today as the gap between the colonies and England during the 18th century,” Scott Rasmussen, president of Rasmussen Reports, says in his new book, In Search of Self-Governance. “If we had to rely on politicians to fix these problems, the outlook for the nation would be bleak indeed. Fortunately, in America, the politicians aren’t nearly as important as they think they are.”

Earlier polling found that just 16% of voters nationwide consider themselves part of the Tea Party Movement. However, just 11% believe Congress is doing a good or an excellent job. Seventy-six percent (76%) think most members of Congress are more interested in their own careers than in helping people.

On all questions, Republicans overwhelming prefer the Tea Party. Unaffiliated voters also prefer the Tea Party by wide margins, but Congress fares a bit better with unaffiliateds than they do with Republicans. (Z: Oops! Don't tell those unaffiliateds they ARE Republicans for agreeing with so much of the TP movement, they'd hate that, I know that by personal experience!)

Democrats, perhaps not surprisingly since their party currently controls both the House and Senate, are more evenly divided. Forty-five percent (45%) of those in Nancy Pelosi’s party say that their views are closer to the average member of Congress. However, 28% of Democrats say their views are closer to the average member of the Tea Party.

Men are more likely to align with the Tea Party than women, but a plurality of women prefer the Tea Party over Congress on every question in the survey.

If the Tea Party was organized as a political party, 34% of voters would prefer a Democrat in a three-way congressional race. In that hypothetical match-up, the Republican gets 27% of the vote with the Tea Party hopeful in third at 21%. (Z: See the liberal mind? They may poll preferring the TP movement but "OH, MY, if there's an election, I'd vote DEMOCRAT...I GOTTA!" hee hee)

However, if only the Democrat or Republican had a real chance to win, most of the Tea Party supporters would vote for the Republican. (Z: except they also might be the NEW ROSS PEROTs so I look at that stat with a grain of salt)

Fifty-one percent (51%) of Americans had a favorable view of the so-called “tea party” protests just after they were held on Tax Day, April 15, last year. It was those events around the country that gelled into the Tea Party movement, a protest largely against what are viewed as the big government policies of both major political parties.

I hope they do another poll THIS April 15...after THIS year, there's no telling how much higher the numbers will be FOR the TPers...and, don't kid yourselves folks....there are Dems and Indies IN the TP movement, but those stances are PURE REPUBLICAN...but sshhhhh!! Dems don't like to realize they're Republicans and might only finally get down to seeing their true selves in the mirror when they're in the voting booth...I hope)

Hutaree and Juan Williams......

You've all heard by now about the militia group called "Hutaree" some of whose members have been arrested for apparently plotting against the US government...
In this article I found today was the sentence:
"The arrests point to how the Midwest in particular has become a hotbed for patriot activity."
What's the term
PATRIOT started to mean, at least according to the American mainstream meida!!?? I found that odd. This group is carrying on PATRIOT ACTIVITY?
Then, we had Juan Williams decrying the Serpent flag of
REAL PATRIOTS. He got kind of confused, apparently, and actually tried to pin Timothy McVeigh on the Tea Partiers, too. I suppose Williams thinks Tim McVeigh was a PATRIOT, TOO?
Hey, Juan? Don't tread on US. z

A rancher is dead. Please read about him and what happened;

Please pray for rancher Rob Krentz's widow and children.

THIS ARTICLE HERE is something we should all be aware and alarmed about. Here is a clip from it:

The body of Rancher Rob Krentz and his dog were found shot to death on his ranch. Krentz, who always was good-natured and willing to help people, had called in that he had found an illegal alien at one of his watering holes and was assisting him. That was the last that was heard from him before his body was discovered.

Rob Krentz was a lifelong rancher in Southeastern Arizona, 12 miles north of the U.S./Mexico border and 25 miles northeast of the city of Douglas. He was the father of three children. The ranch has been in his family for three generations, more than 100 years - since 1907, and sits on about 35,000 acres with 1,000 head of cattle. Running a ranch is hard work and with the influx of illegal aliens increasing, Rob was at ground zero of the stampede that is destroying the fragile desert landscape.

So, Mr. Krentz is dead at the age of 58 and leaves a grieving family.... Here's what he said in 2005:

"We’re being over-run, and it’s costing us lots and lots of money," Krentz said.

"We figured it up over the last five years and it’s cost us over $8 million," Krentz said. "Cattle don’t like people walking through, so they move. So, cattle weight loss, destruction of fences, breaking our pipelines, they break them in two and (the pipes) run for two or three days before we find it."

"Krentz went on to say that when he was a boy he actually knew the few illegal aliens that came through looking for work, he said it's nothing like that now as hundreds of unknown illegals stream across his land."

So, does this just continue as is? Are we going to lose more good Americans because we're allowing millions to cross illegally into our country and, to boot, paying for them in various and maddening ways? I know Mexicans here in LA who work at my car wash and at friends' homes, etc....they're some of the very sweetest people I've EVER met. But, they probably came here illegally, too. I know none of them would have murdered, but it's starting to happen more and more.........

What can we DO? I know we don't have answers but, mostly, I wanted to mention this rancher's name and ask you to hold up his family in your prayer. This shouldn't be happening. But, America's weaker than she's ever been now and we don't have the guts to really stop anything.........what's next?

Arabic Names....let's make SURE we pronounce them correctly....because.........

.....because.....well, I hate to imagine why... but can't think of one reason right now.
As someone who knows four languages in varying degrees of expertise, I bristle at mispronunciations so it's not that I am against pronouncing names correctly, but when they're Al Qaeda types as discussed in the linked article, it feels odd to me that The Associated Press is giving's a bit from the article about a CIA detainee who died in detention, but that's not what I'm posting for......:

The man was Gul Rahman (gool RAHK'-mahn), a suspected militant captured on Oct. 29, 2002, a U.S. official familiar with the case confirmed. The official said Rahman was taken during an operation against Hezb-e-Islami Gulbuddin, an insurgent group headed by Afghan warlord Gulbuddin Hekmatyar (gool-boo-DEEN' hek-mat-YAR') and allied with al-Qaida.

By the way, as someone who doesn't speak Arabic but has had a lot of it in her ears over the years, this phonetic thing is so bad they might as well NOT give the PHONETIC WAY TO PRONOUNCE TERRORIST me on that.
By the way...they ARE "gool"s, alright. They got that right :-)

Obama impersonator will love these!

I almost never watch videos I get via email to the end, I have to admit, but these are hilarious and get better as you stay with them....enjoy;

Priscilla's Post ..... Every American should read this.....especially our young people

Here's another piece by our Priscilla....I thought this was a great way to start the she goes:

This is a short story about making it in America
It’s about faith in our country, and the opportunities that arise if you’re willing to be patient, take advantage of those open doors, and if you know in your heart it’s possible.

All you have to do is allow yourselves to believe, work hard, and look ahead. For some it’s easier than others, but never doubt you can do it and enjoy the ride. We did it the hard way, not all young people start with nothing. We did. But, we had each other, and that was what mattered most.

Mr. Pris worked two jobs for sixteen years and, at the same time, served 12 years in the National Guard. During his service, he found he could attend Officer’s Candidate School, (OCS) so he did. An open door, and he walked through it and became an officer.

At the same time, he worked for an aerospace company. He had the opportunity to work in an intelligence group and he took it. Another open door, and he walked through that one. Ultimately, he worked his way up to a prestigious career in intelligence.

We bought our first home seven years after we married, with our two little children in tow. I didn't have my very own new car until we were married for 26 years, and happily did without a lot of goodies in order to be home raising our children. All the while, we always moved forward step by step.

We never wanted help. Once when we bought our first house, we borrowed money from a relative and we paid it back with the same interest she was earning in her bank. She told us “no you don’t have to pay me interest“, but we would not have it any other way. Since that time, we bought a second home and here we stayed. We saved our money and now we are comfortable and not even close to rich. But, we have enough.

Married at eighteen, we did it ourselves, and Mr. Pris did more than his share. Today, our President says we’re selfish. Well, I'll never say I'm sorry! We owe no one anything. Now, it seems we're stuck paying for people who can help themselves. If they refuse to do so, tough! They haven't earned or learned a damn thing.

But, you know what? They don’t know what they’re missing, and I’m here to tell them, everyday you are your own master, you win.

Obama is THE BIGGEST GIFT EVER.........

by Gary Hubbell:
Barack Obama is the best thing that has happened to America in the last 100 years.
Truly, he is the savior of America's future. He is the best thing ever.

Despite the fact that he has some of the lowest approval ratings among recent presidents, history will see Barack Obama as the source of America's resurrection. Barack Obama has plunged the country into levels of debt that we could not have previously imagined; his efforts to nationalize health care have been met with fierce resistance nationwide; TARP bailouts and stimulus spending have shown little positive effect on the national economy; unemployment is unacceptably high and looks to remain that way for most of a decade; legacy entitlement programs have ballooned to unsustainable levels, and there is a seething anger in the populace.

That's why Barack Obama is such a good thing for America.

Obama is the symbol of a creeping liberalism that has infected our society like a cancer for the last 100 years. Just as Hitler is the face of fascism, Obama will go down in history as the face of unchecked liberalism. The cancer metastasized to the point where it could no longer be ignored.

Average Americans who have quietly gone about their lives, earning a paycheck, contributing to their favorite charities, going to high school football games on Friday night, spending their weekends at the beach or on hunting trips — they've gotten off the fence. They've woken up. There is a level of political activism in this country that we haven't seen since the American Revolution, and Barack Obama has been the catalyst that has sparked a restructuring of the American political and social consciousness.
Think of the crap we've slowly learned to tolerate over the past 50 years as liberalism sought to re-structure the America that was the symbol of freedom and liberty to all the people of the world. Immigration laws were ignored on the basis of compassion. Welfare policies encouraged irresponsibility, the fracturing of families, and a cycle of generations of dependency. Debt was regarded as a tonic to lubricate the economy. Our children left school having been taught that they are exceptional and special, while great numbers of them cannot perform basic functions of mathematics and literacy. Legislators decided that people could not be trusted to defend their own homes, and stripped citizens of their rights to own firearms. Productive members of society have been penalized with a heavy burden of taxes in order to support legions of do-nothings who loll around, reveling in their addictions, obesity, indolence, ignorance and “disabilities.” Criminals have been arrested and re-arrested, coddled and set free to pillage the citizenry yet again. Lawyers routinely extort fortunes from doctors, contractors and business people with dubious torts.

We slowly learned to tolerate these outrages, shaking our heads in disbelief, and we went on with our lives.

But Barack Obama has ripped the lid off a seething cauldron of dissatisfaction and unrest.

In the time of Barack Obama, Black Panther members stand outside polling places in black commando uniforms, slapping truncheons into their palms. ACORN — a taxpayer-supported organization — is given a role in taking the census, even after its members were caught on tape offering advice to set up child prostitution rings. A former Communist is given a paid government position in the White House as an advisor to the president. Auto companies are taken over by the government, and the auto workers' union — whose contracts are completely insupportable in any economic sense — is rewarded with a stake in the company. Government bails out Wall Street investment bankers and insurance companies, who pay their executives outrageous bonuses as thanks for the public support. Terrorists are read their Miranda rights and given free lawyers. And, despite overwhelming public disapproval, Barack Obama has pushed forward with a health care plan that would re-structure one-sixth of the American economy.

I don't know about you, but the other day I was at the courthouse doing some business, and I stepped into the court clerk's office and changed my voter affiliation from “Independent” to “Republican.” I am under no illusion that the Republican party is perfect, but at least they're starting to awaken to the fact that we cannot sustain massive levels of debt; we cannot afford to hand out billions of dollars in corporate subsidies; we have to somehow trim our massive entitlement programs; we can no longer be the world's policeman and dole out billions in aid to countries whose citizens seek to harm us.

Literally millions of Americans have had enough. They're organizing, they're studying the Constitution and the Federalist Papers, they're reading history and case law, they're showing up at rallies and meetings, and a slew of conservative candidates are throwing their hats into the ring. Is there a revolution brewing? Yes, in the sense that there is a keen awareness that our priorities and sensibilities must be radically re-structured. Will it be a violent revolution? No. It will be done through the interpretation of the original document that has guided us for 220 years — the Constitution. Just as the pendulum swung to embrace political correctness and liberalism, there will be a backlash, a complete repudiation of a hundred years of nonsense. A hundred years from now, history will perceive the year 2010 as the time when America got back on the right track. And for that, we can thank Barack Hussein Obama.

Sunday Faith Blog

In Memoriam A.H.H.
Alfred, Lord Tennyson

Strong Son of God, immortal Love,
Whom we, that have not seen thy face,
By faith, and faith alone, embrace, Believing where we cannot prove;

Thine are these orbs of light and shade;
Thou madest Life in man and brute;
Thou madest Death; and lo, thy foot
Is on the skull which thou hast made.

Thou wilt not leave us in the dust:
Thou madest man, he knows not why,
He thinks he was not made to die;
And thou hast made him: thou art just.

Thou seemest human and divine,
The highest, holiest manhood, thou.
Our wills are ours, we know not how;
Our wills are ours, to make them thine.

Our little systems have their day;
They have their day and cease to be:

They are but broken lights of thee,

And thou, O Lord, art more than they.

We have but faith: we cannot know;
For knowledge is of things we see
And yet we trust it comes from thee,
A beam in darkness: let it grow.

Let knowledge grow from more to more,
But more of reverence in us dwell;
That mind and soul, according well,
May make one music as before,

But vaster.
We are fools and slight;
We mock thee when we do not fear:
But help thy foolish ones to bear;
Help thy vain worlds to bear thy light.

Forgive what seem'd my sin in me;
What seem'd my worth since I began;
For merit lives from man to man,
And not from man, O Lord, to thee.

Forgive my grief for one removed,
Thy creature, whom I found so fair.

I trust he lives in thee,
and there
I find him worthier to be loved.

Forgive these wild and wandering cries,
Confusions of a wasted youth;
Forgive them where they fail in truth,
And in thy wisdom make me wise.

I had not read this poem until a friend mentioned that it helped her after her mother died a few years ago. I found it beautiful and inspiring and wanted to share it with you for this Sunday's Faith Blog. It helps me to think my Mr. Z even "worthier to be loved" because "he lives in thee (God)" I put in bold my favorite parts........ Beautiful.

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8: 38,39

Perhaps this touches some of you who've also lost particularly special loved ones........I hope it helps. (thanks, Heather)

Obama and Tiger.............HOW could I not post what someone just emailed me?

Iraq taking baby steps in the right direction..? You think so?

Do you take the fact that Ayad Allawi is leading in the Iranian elections as promising as I do?
Here's a tidbit from the linked article:

"Regardless of who eventually comes out on top, the results of the March 7 elections suggest that millions of Iraqis are fed up with a political system that revolves around membership in one of the two major Islamic sects."

more good news:
"They also show that Iraqis — both Shiite and Sunni — are suspicious of Iranian influence. Allawi was widely seen as closer to the region's Arab governments than to neighboring Shiite Iran."
Of course, Al-Maliki's FURIOUS and promising to win no matter WHAT, and he still could...but....
This doesn't mean free sailing by a LONG shot for Iraq OR America in our relations with them, but I thought it was a pretty good start...
baby steps, for sure, but baby steps in the right direction?
Well..I just saw THIS...maybe we're not as far along as I thought. The Anti-American cleric is running third.................ugh. Well, I'm trying to stay positive, but it's getting tougher and tougher...

Amish or've got a free pass from HEALTH CARE INSURANCE?

The AMISH and, possibly, MUSLIMS will be EXEMPT from having to buy HEALTH INSURANCE!! Did you hear about that? Here's the scoop on the AMISH and why they're EXEMPT:

"The Amish believe it's the fundamental responsibility of the church to care for the material needs of the members of the church," said Steven Nolt, a professor at Goshen College who has written books on the Plain community of Amish.

"And so they don't buy commercial health insurance and they don't participate in public assistance programs."

So while most Americans would be required to sign up with insurance companies or government insurance plans, the church would serve as something of an informal insurance plan for the Amish.

Law experts say that kind of exemption withstands scrutiny."

Seems scrutiny-ready to ME. So, who's to say all our churches don't go into the business? I'd rather pay my CHURCH my $480 a month than Blue Shield or the Government, TRUST ME!

OH, and MUSLIMS MIGHT BE EXEMPT, TOO! It seems that...."Health insurance is haraam like other types of commercial insurance, because it is based on ambiguity, gambling and riba (usury). This is what is stated in fatwas by the senior scholars.

In Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa'imah (15/277) there is a quotation of a statement of the Council of Senior Scholars concerning the prohibition on insurance and why it is haraam:
It says in Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa'imah (15/251):
Firstly: Commercial insurance of all types is haraam because it involves ambiguity, riba, uncertainty, gambling and consuming people's wealth unlawfully, and other shar'i

Secondly: It is not permissible for the Muslim to get involved with insurance companies by working in administration or otherwise, because working in them comes under the heading of cooperating in sin and transgression, and Allaah forbids that as He says: "but do not help one another in sin and transgression. And fear Allaah. Verily, Allaah is Severe in punishment"

I'm so at a loss over this because it seems to me that none of us should have to buy anything we don't want to buy and, because that's being put upon us here very soon, we need to demand exemption, too, on the grounds that it is unconstitutional. Which it is, of course. you think people will be turning to the Amish church or Islam over this? No, of course not....probably not. But, is this only the start of the slippery slope of Islam or any other group getting exemptions from things American born Christians and Jews DON'T WANT either? Shouldn't we all be treated equally?

(by the way, THIS kind of surprised me!)

Celebrating these people...? WHY?

The "gate crashers" at the White House Indian dinner have a TV deal....HERE's the scoop.
Octamom is famous for having had 8 children without a dad and losing a home and making a fool of herself.
Kate Gosselin is famous for..............I give up...WHY? (I honestly don't know....)

Is this what America admires now? These are people who get tons of attention for doing things that don't really seem to merit such renown. And there are more like them but I don't keep up on this type of person (I mean I really do NOT KNOW what made Gosselin a household name). What's this a symptom OF?

It scares the heck out of me, I'll tell you.

Police....why's the media come down SO hard?

Los Angeles police have mistakenly killed an autistic Black man who approached them while fumbling for something at his waistband. Here is a quote from the article "Family members told ABC-7 News that Washington was not a violent man. He was autistic and had the intelligence of a 16-year-old. They also described his death as a murder."

"Murder." This is a very, very sad story and the shooting shouldn't have happened. There are Los Angeles cops, tired, frazzled from doing a beat in a worse neighborhood in LA than most, very early in the morning, which means it was probably still dark. "Murder?"

Yahoo carried this sad story in a headline all day Saturday and I was surprised and dismayed to see it there again on Sunday . Why is it? This isn't a purposeful shooting, this is a terrible mistake and who could not feel great sadness for the victim? But, can we also think of our sadness for the cops who made the fatal error? The man was approaching them very "suspiciously" and fumbling at his waistband as if for a hand gun! These cops have LIVES, they have families, they have children depending on them and they would never shoot a man in cold blood.
This is the type of thing the media does so well and so often, isn't it, drawing attention to the police and what they might have done wrong .... while they give every damn excuse in the book to those who could hurt them and the rest of society, those who've stolen, raped, shot, killed....... We don't give the police excuses but we give the bad guys the 'abuse excuse', the sympathy, the ridiculous suggestion that they could have done no wrong, "they were just victims of the police"....and, if the police do one thing wrong in the arrest, etc., the perp is often freed. This is the pressure our police have on them. We should honor them but we blame instead.

Oh, and we give the victims' families millions. Of course this man's family calls this "MURDER." They must already have a good attorney.$$$

God rest Mr. Eugene's soul...........and God help those policemen who must be so upset and sad at what happened and have to now face investigations and live with the fact that they mistakenly shot an innocent man. Please, people, let's give the police the benefit of the doubt, too, from time to time, don't you think?

We'll put OUR nukes down if you put YOUR nukes down...we TRUST you!

Hillary Clinton has brokered some deal whereby the United States and Russia are going to cut the amount of nukes each has. (You think Russia will sign with its fingers crossed behind its back while Obama believes them and feels all good about himself, kumbaya?) This paragraph from the article struck me as troublesome:"Maria Lipman, an expert with the Moscow Carnegie Center think tank, said this week the new treaty could not only reduce the size of both country's nuclear arsenals but also change the psychology of the U.S.-Russia relationship, which has been strained for at least the past six years.

"Gradually the attitude may change to where America is not seen from Russia as a force to be treated with suspicion," she said."

Is this America's goal in dealing with nuclear Russia? How about OUR worries about THEM, do THEY count? Didn't that statement seem odd to you? I'm so tired of our putting the US second to everybody else. We're plenty worried about Russia! Isn't that okay? Can't they do something to dispel OUR concerns?

Here's a tasty little tidbit, the last sentence of the article...."Another 4,200 retired U.S. strategic warheads are awaiting dismantlement." That makes me feel better, does it you? (not)

Congratulations, finally got your way.

Carl said WHAT? and a Shep Smith UPDATE

Just heard on FOX..."EVEN the Tea Partiers themselves are DENOUNCING the death threats to Politicians on Capitol Hill!"

"EVEN the Tea Partiers?" REALLY? EVEN THEM? Meaning what, Carl Cameron?
No news on Yahoo homepage yet, but Steny Hoyer is saying some politicians are getting death threats....unsubstantiated by Capitol Police but definitely being investigated, as it should.

Heck, EVEN TEA PARTIERS don't like that idea! wow

UPDATE: Pris's son sent an email regarding what Shepard Smith also said on FOX during his show this afternoon (when he interviewed Cameron). (That's Shep Smith, never to be mistaken for a Conservative on FOX, of course....)

Apparently, Shep was aghast at the (unsubstantiated) rumor that politicians were threatened over their votes for the Health Care Bill......."Why would anyone do such a thing over just a vote?"

Pris's son replies ...."Shep Smith's characterization of Sunday as "just a vote" is troubling........While death threats are also troubling, it's our President and Congress that first threatened us ALL."

He had more in his email and made great sense (including "Smith fails to realize that when OUR Government refuses to act in accordance with our founding document, let alone PERSISTS on stripping us of the freedoms our Forefathers and countless numbers of Americans have died for, what does our Government expect? The fact that we have become far too tolerant for far too long is what has landed us in the mess we currently find ourselves in.") but I thought those last two sentences I highlighted said it all, don't you? Thanks, Pris and Son!

Lesbians at the for it?

You all heard that two lesbians wanted to go to their senior prom as a couple in Jackson, Mississippi, right?

Read THIS and see what's happening now. The article says: She (one of the lesbians) has appeared on the "The Early Show," "The Wanda Sykes Show" and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" to talk about how she is fighting for tolerance. DeGeneres presented her with a $30,000 college scholarship from Tonic, a digital media company. A Facebook page set up by the ACLU for McMillen has over 400,000 fans.

Yes, well, it's pretty clear that some of us celebrate gay couples more than straight couples nowadays, I guess, don't we. Is this strictly a religious matter or something else? Please chime in as I'd like to know your opinions............
A prom is a boy/girl dance, has been since the inception of PROMS.........why not now? Are the lesbians intolerant of a high school desirous of keeping it that way? Is the school intolerant for keeping the girls out? Tell me.

A friend in China just told me my blog link is blocked there! How cool is THAT? :)
I emailed back that I'm flattered!! HA! Update: Okay, okay...commenters are telling me BLOGGER's blocked from China...Darn. BUT !!! I refuse to believe it's this. I am going to continue to believe that it's MY BLOG blocked for foreign intrusion and I'm a huge threat to China. Mr. Z would love that :-) I hope YOU'd love to read about HIM...please see below!!

Mr. Z ; a German's American Patriotism...

You don't have to be American to be true blue American. Some of you probably don't know that Mr. Z wasn't an American citizen. He loved his native Germany, but he loved this country more than many Americans I know. There are reasons he didn't change citizenship....But, here's why I'm writing about him today:

First, a little history: Mr. Z had Amyloidosis, some of you might remember, and died very unexpectedly, last October, not long after diagnosis. I thank God every day that his symptoms hadn't become terribly difficult yet before he died. He was 6'3" and very strong but this disease made him tire easily and he'd started feeling unusually winded when he walked any distance......

When the walking was getting harder for him, our friend and yours, Heidianne from Big Girl Pants blog (on my sidebar), told us she'd be at the West Los Angeles tea party on Wilshire Boulevard at the Federal Building. Mr. Z said "We're going!" I asked him how he could because there'd be a lot of walking involved from the car to the site, but he insisted. And, we went.

We didn't have to walk as far as I'd feared but he did tire after about 40 feet... and stopped. He said "You go ahead, honey, I'll catch up with you." (that's the kind of guy he was) I told him I wasn't moving without him and we'd walk when he felt up to it, of course. Soon, we started to walk again and we were finally in the crowd, surrounded by people carrying flags and signs, people getting petition signatures (as Heidianne was), celebs talking to the crowd, other leaders of the movement talking to us.........lots of red, white and blue, lots of strangers talking to each other, patting each other on the shoulder in agreement, a great feeling of unity.

Mr. Z came to life. At one point, during someone's pep speech about this great nation and our founding fathers and how what's happening now has NOTHING to do with our founder's hopes and dreams, I thought I saw Mr. Z's eyes well up. He was very touched by this crowd. He walked around as if nothing was wrong with him, commenting on how many young people were there, reveling in how many car horns were honking, people inside the cars giving us all the thumbs up...........on WILSHIRE BLVD, the main drag in VERY liberal Los Angeles??? (that, I couldn't believe!) I remember being SO PROUD and thinking "Man, he's not even American and he's loving this event so much!" It was CONTAGIOUS, this great feeling of being with other Americans who shared our feelings of patriotism and anger at this government.

I wish all Americans were as American as my Mr. Z was. America might not have gained a vote from my dear husband, but she sure did gain someone who talked her up every chance he got, comparing her favorably to European and Asian countries he knew so much about, wondering how Americans could fall for the coming socialism Eastern Europeans leave their countries to come to America FOR. Most of you saw his articles America-loving does it get?

He saw the dwindling opportunities people used to come here for, he saw our selling ourselves to China, he saw entitlements becoming so popular, he saw the great American work ethic which had impressed him so much slipping away in his employees the last few years of his career...I used to chide him for comparing us to the Roman Empire when we discussed the horrid downturn in morality here in this country, but I'd finally stopped that because he was right again.

He's gone now, and you and I've lived through this last Sunday and the passing of the health care bill....I can see from comments here and other blog posts and their comments that most of us are outraged.........but I'm sensing a feeling of deep, deep sadness, too. Even worse, I'm sensing a defeatist attitude, a 'giving in' to what we could be facing because of the Obama administration. But, we're AMERICANS and, if Mr. Z could get excited and happy and encouraged about patriotism and healing this country when HE was so sick, so can WE.

Onward and upward, Americans..........we will show this country what REAL PATRIOTISM is about and we'll fight this bill and fight to get good Conservatives elected in November and in 2012. Stop the pipe dream of waiting for "real conservatives" through a third party...we can't AFFORD THE LUXURY....(yet)..........just vote out the Democrats. Dig deep and send money to the Nevada Senatorial race..........Dig deep and send to the Californians running against BARBARA BOXER.. Dig deep and help any senator or representative you feel should be elected.
Let's save America and try to educate our children to believe in the America Mr. Z loved...heck, he'd be happy if they just KNEW about the America he loved. TEACH them they live in the greatest country in the world.

Teach them for my Mr. Z. And don't any of you give up! You're still kickin''ve still got what it takes!! DO IT...................for my Mr. Z. But, he'd say "No, not for ME, for America."
God Bless America

Tea Party racists? And Stupak was NEVER going to vote against the bill....did you know that? Here him SAY THAT down below in the video

Tea Partiers apparently shouted the N word at some Black politicians Saturday.
Does that sound like any Tea Partier YOU KNOW? Hint: No.

What's to stop anybody from joining in the huge crowds of Tea Partiers and screaming obscenities at anybody? What's to stop the left from doing that to make the movement look bad?

Here's a quote from the article:
"On Saturday, Frank, however, said he was sorry Republican leaders didn't do more to disown the protesters. "
"Republican leaders?" WHY? Can he absorb the fact that not all Tea Partiers ARE Republicans, or even Conservatives? Some are Democrats who can't stand the big government take over. Some are ...........shhhh...........BLACK!! ("Oh, my GOD!! That means they just CAN'T be Republican, RIGHT?!!" wrong) And, there were many at the only Tea Party I ever went to here in L.A., by the way.

This kind of thing is WRONG, NOBODY should use the N word .... but let's not be Democrats like Frank, jumping in SO EAGERLY to condemn all Republicans. That is ridiculous. And, oh, please, let them find out James Carville put someone up to this. Please..........wouldn't that be rich? But, we'll never find out. The Left always wins....the media's so on their side there's barely an attempt at finding out the truth anymore. By the way, Frank just called Republicans "clowns" that is REALLY rich, huh? !!!

And, please, everybody, let's not get into a conversation about the N word being fair game... it isn't at this blog. Thanks.

Then, we have Rep Neugebauer from Texas apologizing for having yelled "Baby Killer" at Stupak when he capitulated. Neugebauer says he said "IT's a baby killer," but, nevertheless....apologies needed again by the Republicans. you think there will be an apology to pro life groups who supported Stupak after they see THIS VIDEO that Beamish brought to our attention in a comment here at GeeeeeZ? (heard about THIS in the media? ya. sure...not)

VIDEO RELIEF after a politically rotten Sunday.....I promise

UPDATE: “One of the traditional methods of imposing statism or socialism on a people has been by way of medicine. It’s very easy to disguise a medical program as a humanitarian project. Most people are a little reluctant to oppose anything that suggests medical care for people who possibly can’t afford it.” — Ronald Reagan
And see Big Bubba's blog for a terrific Reagan your heart out.

Time to GET BUSY and do what we can to save our great country. I hope you're inspired by the video. GOD BLESS AMERICA

War Posters and Health Care

Who'd have thought we'd someday have to add WASHINGTON, DC to that list?

I heard stupak is now a "yes" vote....NOPE, still NO!!

Sorry to alarm anybody who saw my previous post ... msnbc reported WRONG about an hour ago...IMAGINE? (as if I use msnbc for my news info, but I DO watch EVERYTHING to see what they're saying and they very assuredly did report that!) Don't you wonder how long Obama's spending whining ("oh, please, pretty pretty please let me appease Stupak!") with NARAL and Planned Parenthood right now? :-)
I just heard Louise Slaughter say "Republicans won't debate, they just don't want REFORM!" (as Paul Ryan was handily debating her...that takes GUTS, eh?)
And they're invoking CIVIL RIGHTS now...MLK, Jr....Joe low can you go?
Now read my Sunday Faith'll help calm us ALL down (I hope!) xxx

Sunday Faith Blog....for those of you who could also use some tranquility

This is a town in Holland with no roads, just small river ways. The tranquility seemed to me just what we could all use. I'd love to sit with you on that little bench in the picture just above and talk and relax..... away from politics and partisanship and taxes due and everything else on our minds these days. How's that sound?

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you...." Isaiah 54:4
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." John 14:27

Have a peaceful Sunday, my friends, don't let the waters sweep over

A very ANGRY Z follows this excellent new addition of Priscilla's Post on the Health Care vote.....

When Franklin D. Roosevelt was President, the Democrats did agree to much of what we're suffering from today, but, I think the left wasn't what it is today. The Congress did stop him from loading the Supreme Court, and they did vote to limit the Presidency to two terms. I think they did that because they saw the power Roosevelt was attempting to wrest from Congress and the people.

Today, the left is a real threat to this country. More powerful, more entrenched and ruthless, and I think during the late 30's and early 40's there were Democrat statesmen who believed in the Constitution and had the influence to call a halt to Roosevelt's power grab.

Yes, the sun will come up, etc. But if this bill passes, America will be changed forever. Furthermore, if Obama and the Democrats successfully use the Slaughter rule, they will use it again unless the planned suit stops them. This would effectively nullify the sixty vote filibuster. We're experiencing what tyranny is at this very moment. Some seem a bit resigned to this, and that is a mistake.

Here is what Dennis Prager said. He said, "If this passes Sunday, regardless of how it passes, it will be the beginning of a second civil war". Not a violent one, but a civil war nonetheless. I agree with him. I've felt it coming as if it's inevitable.

Thirty seven states are set to sue the federal government to opt out of this health care bill. That's a shot across the left's bow. So now, we have to pray hard that the resistance remains and becomes a force they can no longer ignore. My greatest concern is that those now in power may become more militant, and descend into violent suppression. But, we cannot give up. Never. If that should happen, God help us all....By Pris

Thanks SO much for another terrific Priscilla's Post, Pris...well done. I want to add something since I read this and am hearing the television in the other room:

I don't know if any of you are watching the Democrat pep rally right now, but Harry Reid just referred to Pelosi as "The greatest leader of the House in America's history". This is the kind of mentality we're dealing be 'great' the Democrats apparently believe you must be excellent at deals behind closed doors, lying to the public, and excluding the other party and telling the media to tell Americans the other party wouldn't get involved, not could not. Also, IS IT CONSTITUTIONAL TO HAVE AN EARMARK SAYING THAT ONLY THE GOVERNMENT CAN GIVE STUDENT LOANS NOW? IS IT CONSTITUTIONAL TO DEMAND THAT EVERY AMERICAN BUYS HIMSELF HEALTH INSURANCE? Does shredding the constitution really make a GREAT SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE?

I want to also add another thing here; It's going to pass, I can't imagine it NOT passing if Obama's there with Reid and Pelosi now and acting as if it's going to pass; he couldn't risk this, otherwise. BUT, as fearful as I am about what this bill will do, I'm more fearful that we have a president and others who actually think the American government can do a good job running health care and that it actually will save us money!! Amazing that they can't figure out that 30,000,000 more on the dole and many fewer doctors will work. I can't say much more right now, I'm hearing Obama and he's been so utterly INSULTING to this country that I have no comment....except to add that he is TRULY the first American president to disrespect us so much that I hear him now actually suggesting we will be able to keep our health insurance. After Blue Shield has to close because of what he's done and mandated, I'll be out of insurance. Will you? Is he this uninformed or only this dishonest and desperate? And, he's bashing cable television know that's not CNN cable viewers, don't you. He's bashing for their supposed "fear mongering" and "misinformation", saying the Right's afraid that this whole program might work and the Dems will be a huge success. I'm done. Some president, huh? I hear him now saying "If you think the status quo is better, you shouldn't vote for this bill." It's either this bill or we're doomed?? Some thinking going on there, huh? Tell me what you think.

Health care and dentures.........wake up, America

UPDATE: Blogger Opus 6 just posted THIS that and weep, folks...the truth hurts; too bad liberals can't understand it..

I sat down to pull together my weekly Sunday Faith Blog, calm, encouraging, spiritual.... and all I could think about is how terribly worried most of us are about this Health Care bill and what it will do to our country.
In thinking kindly toward this bill, some people put their needs first, or the comfort of those in need, and I surely understand that. It's intoxicating to some people to think they'll get something for nothing, right? A sad misunderstanding is that Conservatives don't care for the comfort of those in need and I'm sorry the left has done such a good job propagating that ridiculous assumption. That's a smoke screen, really, which allows the Democrats free reign to do "such good," (according to them). They can't address that this bill is fundamentally against what most Americans hold near and dear, the CONSTITUTION. They need to ignore that and play on heartstrings and it's worked quite well by now. You will remember the story of New York Representative Louise Slaughter (yes, THAT Slaughter):

“I even have one constituent — you will not believe this, and I know you won’t, but it’s true — her sister died. This poor woman had no denture. She wore her dead sister’s teeth, which of course were uncomfortable and did not fit. Do you ever believe that in America that that’s where we would be?”

Did YOU ever believe we'd live in an America where we need to completely upend your and my health insurance because one person had to do this dreadful thing? Perhaps that woman can be helped without this health care bill? This is what the Republicans mean by "let's start this health care situation over again and start incrementally.."

This poor constituent of Louise Slaughter's has to wear a dead sister's dentures and that's reason to change 1/6 of our economy, weaken our health care possibilities, and bankrupt our country, giving more entitlements to those who are growing more and more used to them? This is the America my immigrant grandfather worked hard in, never expecting a handout, finally making a very comfortable life for his family? What happened to that America? What happened to those people? (UPDATE: Please read BETH's comment on this post...she remembered that Cleveland Clinic says the sister was offered help with her own dentures....but, the left doesn't let truth get in their way, does it)

Funny, after I'd written the above, I watched Hannity who had that leftist Occidental professor Caroline Heldman on (yet another leftist so often on FOX) and she said "But, 40,000 people die every year because of no health care! How can you not pass this bill?" She's a professor and thinks that makes sense, that is logical? Can there BE no bill which will help those people and not destroy our health care and our economy? The heartstrings again, folks.....pluck those heartstrings... Don't THINK.

They're getting about a hundred thousand calls PER HOUR on Capitol Hill against this health care bill! Keep it going, folks. It looks like we're going to lose this thing but don't give up...we have our health care to save and a country to resuscitate!

Also... Check THIS OUT! It tells what's suddenly NOT in the "President Barack Obama would give federal authorities the power to block unreasonable rate hikes.

Yet when Democrats unveiled the final, incarnation of their health care bill this week, the proposal was nowhere to be found.".........GEEEZ, don't TELL me 'unreasonable rate hikes' are acceptable to Obama again! Looks like some insurance company gave Obama a ride in the company jet, huh? :-)

UPDATE: I was just watching TEA PARTY stuff in DC on TV and they're hauling out the cousin of Obama who's a doctor who's against the bill (and who gives very good reasons) you, too, find it a bit unfair for this guy to bill himself as OBAMA'S COUSIN when he's NEVER MET HIM? I mean, let's be fair here....z

Healthcare, Saccharin, and vodka.......and THE BEST VIDEO YOU HAVE SEEN IN A VERY LONG TIME!

THIS INFORMATION IS AMAZING....the headline at Yahoo Homepage is "Democrats add last minute sweeteners to health care bill" Good thing leftwingers haven't banned SWEETENERS yet, huh?

How the HECK GOOD is a bill that's got Obama dissing foreign countries at the last minute to, what AP calls in the linked article above, do "last-minute lobbying at the White House on his signature issue, playing host to a procession of wavering Democrats"? What the heck does he have to do that he couldn't spare two days or so? What's he DOING? What appointments is he offering, what senate committee leadership is he dangling in front of whom, or is he threatening to take one away? If the bill is SO good for America, why does he HAVE to 'lobby' so hard?

The article goes on to say...
"Citing reports that Obama had told members of the Hispanic caucus that his presidency depends on the bill's passage, he (John Boehner) added, "I'm sorry, Mr. President, this isn't about you." "CITING REPORTS?" Since WHEN did something Obama said not get taped on someone's cell phone? REALLY, you think this just might have happened and "citing REPORTS" just hides it a BIT? And, really, is it more important to protect one's presidency or to do the right thing?

Here is an AMAZING "coincidence": "Rep. Bart Gordon of Tennessee, a moderate Democrat who is retiring at the end of the year, announced he would vote in favor of the bill after opposing an earlier version. He did so as Democratic leaders included in their revisions a provision worth an estimated $99 million over two years in higher Medicaid payments to Tennessee hospitals that treat large numbers of uninsured." Well, GOOD FOR TENNESSEE! CaCHING for TENNESSEE!!$$$ (by the way, Mr. Gordon is only 61, kind of young to retire, just sayin'...)

Oh, and get this: "Federally guaranteed student loans would now be made only by the government, ending a role for banks and other for-profit lenders who charge fees." Wait, I thought that Mr. Obama hates earmarks and had promised those days were over? And,what does this have to do with health care? Is this constitutional, by the way? How long before they tell us what we can study if we want a loan from the government?

Give me real SUGAR, not Saccharin....Give me a healthy bill that Americans can appreciate and politicians understand and vote for because it's good for us, not good for their which will really save money, one which doesn't need artificial sweeteners.

And, then...did you hear that Pelosi said “But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy." WHAT? They're supposed to vote for the bill and THEN find out what's IN IT?

Skip the sugar...Give me VODKA.

And get some for Jack Cafferty....Looks like even CNN is turning on THEIR HERO, OBAMA? Check out the'll lift your mood, I promise!

Now THIS is REALLY sweeeeet!!

Surprise someone!

I'm getting back on my sermon soapbox again because I just came home only to find on my front porch a Happy St Pat's card and the MOST beautiful shamrock plant. I'm not sure I'd ever seen one.... The clovers are very large and there are tiny, lovely white flowers exactly like those in the picture here....
I left this morning through my back door and I guess my neighbors across the street had left the plant on my front porch last night....for no reason at all.....So, I'm asking you all to do something REALLY surprising and kind for someone else very soon. I'm still smiling from the sheer kindness and also the beauty of the flowers. Make someone felt SO good :-)

"In a clearing stands a Boxer and a fighter by her trade.."

After reading THIS article, it struck me how things work. But, first, a musical interlude...

I am just a poor boy, though my story's seldom told.
I have squandered my resistance,
For a pocketful of mumbles, such are promises.
All lies and jest........
Lie-la-lie ...

Obama is coming to Los Angeles soon to help Boxer win. I thought "have him come, he's not too popular here anymore even among liberals I know. And they can't stand Boxer, how will that help?" Then I read this:

".....Obama is expected to help Boxer raise hundreds of thousands of dollars as she seeks re-election to a fourth term."

Ah, yes...Now I get it. The liberals I know won't be attending, most of them can't afford it, but the place will probably be sold out with corporate types and Hollywood celebs. The rich Democrats will be the only ones who can come hear him speak and they'll pay through the nose for that privilege. They will raise money so Boxer can use it to campaign more effectively with. The smaller the event, like at Streisand's house or something as has been done in the past, the more money raised because our Hollywood crowd's the most eager to show their silly sycophancy for anyone brave enough to ruin America so quickly and so completely.

They'll raise money alright, but there's a primary and we've got good people running against her. Boxer's not doing well in the polls and the primary will be exciting! People here are ready for change even more than most other Americans are, believe me....we are way OUT of CHANGE $$$ and need a responsible Senator to stop spending. Boxer's all about spending that change and making highly suspect that hope Obama talked about during his campaign.
Still, those extremely rich liberals aren't out of change and they'll be supporting her financially because they know very well Americans aren't buying this big spending stuff anymore.
Personally, I couldn't vote for Boxer for one million and one reasons, that one last reason being having watched her about five years ago give a presentation to a senate hearing on CSPAN. She held up chart after chart with misspellings on them. Way to make your fellow Californians proud, Babs.

The Obama money raised at the upcoming function can raise a LOT of money, but I'm not so sure it'll raise any interest in having her around again... Not by anybody but that happy little entitled bedazzled Obama dinner crowd. How much do you think big money helps when even the media's not bragging on their liberal candidate anymore?

In the clearing stands a boxer and a fighter by his trade,
And he carries the reminders of every glove that laid him down,
Or cut him 'til he cried out in his anger and his shame,
"I am leaving, I am leaving."
.............we can only hope.

Lie-la-lie ...
that's the truth.
(my thanks to Simon and Garfunkel and, would whoever borrowed my album in college, please bring it BACK?)
