Sunday Faith Blog

"The 'grass is only greener' because somebody over there is watering it........"  I just heard that quote and loved it.  It probably didn't start as anything to do with faith, but I think it does.  The people I know who have strong Christian faith are happier; they go through difficult challenges with better humor, they have friends of similar strengths to lean on, they oftentimes have a church family that helps, etc.

It's easy to say "the grass is always greener....over there" but it isn't if you're watering your own faith garden.

"And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not."  Isaiah 58:11

Water your garden!

and please pray for Susie Breitbart.
and for our buddy Elmer's Brother who's having tests today...

Z - That is very nice - and the picture of the garden is Beautiful.

But I'm wonderin' - Can bones be f*t? I mean I've heard of big bones - but not f*t ones.
~~~
How is Susie B. doing? After the dust settles down - then it's always so hard for those who have experienced the loss - especially since she has the kids.
And I hope EB is ok.
Thanks Z.
A large part of the grass being greener is our displeasure with where we are.
Christians are to have a leading as to where they should be, and it may not always be the most comfortable place to be.
If you are where God wants you, you have a purpose for Him there.
The hard part is discerning if you're where you should be.
You could be there for years before you realize the fruits of your labors in a dry land.
The trouble is wondering if you're spending (wasting) your time in a dry place when you should be elsewhere.
I still go though this employment wise.
Churchwise, a few years ago I left the church I'm in now. I was very uncomfortable where I was and Gos almost miraculously gave me an opportunity to teach in another church which is usually unheard of.
I took the position, and was fruitful.
After a while, with a change of pastors, it became evident that I was not needed there anymore.
We returned to our former church to find that the pastors wife had stepped up to play the piano, which she wouldn't do while I was there, and now plays better than I do.
I was asked to take my teaching position back and it's more fruitful than ever.
But it all looked so wrong at one point.
The fence is not a barrier; it's an ornament.
Perhaps you would enjoy some gnostic reading this fine morning:
Love the quote. I hadn't heard that one before.
For me, the grass is green. Not because of me, or things, but because of the people, family and friends, who surround me, and faith that will sustain me even in hard times, as now.
My prayers go out to the Breitbart family.
And to Elbro, I pray all goes well for you my friend, and God bless you.
Ducky
I like my yard and if I wanted a better one I'd build it myself or hire some help.The little Maltese has a tendency to abuse the lawn with bodily functions. Did you ever notice lawn Gnomes look like Karl Marx? If I ever get a photo of the Maltese saluting the image of Marx I will be sure to post it.
Your kind has a proclivity for taking things that don't belong to you and giving it to cronies while ranting about the working class.
The only working class people most commies meeet are the domestic help. If you want to see lefties cringe ask them to eat at the same table as their hired help. Regale us with fiction about the times you broke bread with the actual working class.
Keep your Marxist mitts off my wallet and my lawn.
Z Have you ever noticed that the only room Ducky wants the government out of is the bedroom.
He wants to dictate the food we eat, the type of lightbulbs we eat, the type of toilet we use and watch his kind mandate one ply toilet paper in the future. If they
ever make a Charming Ultra Squared
I'm buying it.
You can take Marx, Lenin,Mao and Castro and I will stick with Jefferson, Madison, Lincoln and Reagan.
Beak - I'll take Madison and Lincoln - you can have Jefferson - and Reagan is up for grabs.
The Duck is neither American in spirit nor substance. Feel free to take whatever American visionary suits your fancy.
I like my country as is and do not look to the EU as a moral beacon.
When Marxist gather hold your wallet and make them miserable.
