THE ARMED SERVICES NEED YOUR HELP! IRAQIS HAD BLUE FINGERS AFTER THEY VOTED...OUR SOLDIERS ONLY GET THE FINGER?? WHAT?

CAN SOMEONE TELL ME HOW I CAN GET IT KNOWN THAT MY FRIEND'S SON, WHO'S ON HIS THIRD OR FOURTH TRIP FIGHTING IN IRAQ, HAS NOT RECEIVED THE ABSENTEE BALLOTT HE REQUESTED? (please see the important 2 updates way down under this piece)

I've asked her to contact FOX, O'Reilly, Meagan Kelly, etc etc. I know CNN won't have much to do with it; after all, the armed services usually vote Republican, so that wouldn't interest them.

Anybody have ANY SUGGESTIONS? Anybody happen to have anybody's ear who could help us??? PLEASE let me know ASAP.

Mustang has told me that it's too late for Greg's vote to be counted, but HOW? Can't they do a hand count, an X on a piece of paper..ANYTHING to get his and his friends' votes??

MY POINT about Greg's not being able to vote is that HE HAS HAD HIS RIGHT TO VOTE DENIED TO HIM. WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING IN THIS COUNTRY??

Please, help!! Thanks.

UPDATE: While waiting for my friend to get home so I can advise her to call her Congressman, I'm seeing THIS at an excellent blog telling us that CONGRESSMAN DOESN'T WANT HER SON TO VOTE!!! HOW IRONIC IS THIS? GREAT ADVICE, HUH? THE INMATES ARE RUNNING THE ASSYLUM, FOLKS. AND WHY ISN'T THIS PELOSI STORY IN EVERY NEWS STORY TODAY?

AN EVEN SADDER UPDATE; OUR VOTES, TOO, ARE BEING TAMPERED WITH. MR. BUSH HAS JUST PUT AVOWEDLY OBAMA-SUPPORTING LAWYERS FROM JUSTICE ON THE ACORN CASE. I'LL SEE YOU LATER....I'M HAVING MR Z LOCK ME BACK INTO MY PADDED CELL (THE ONE WE BUILT FOR ELECTION NIGHT!! HEH HEH)

Z, this is probabaly the single most disgusting issue of this campaign and ironically one of the least discussed. Bottom line is it benefits the Dims so the media is not going to cover it. Thanks for trying to keep it alive.

Mailing time probably means he won't be voting this year. He might check to see if the form can be a fax, that would save the time it takes to get the ballot.

The military ALWAYS gets screwed when it comes to voting; they're usually right-leaning, so the Dems know they have to get rid of those votes!

Contact his US Representative with an official complaint.

Having been a Legal Officer in the US Marines, "congrets" or "Congressional Inquiries" get priority attention. When a Congressman sends an inquiry to a military unit command, everyone takes notice. We dropped whatever we were doing in my office until a response was sent back to the Congressional office.

You may not like the answer...but I guarantee you'll get one.

My point is far less than Greg not being able to vote; My point is that WE NEED TO HAVE AMERICANS KNOW THIS.

Greg SHOULD vote, an X on any piece of paper SHOULD count, shouldn't it? If he proves who he is?

Here's a guy fighting for our right to vote and HE CAN'T? IRAQIS have BLUE FINGERS and OURS GOT THE FINGER? (hey, I'm changing my title on this!! HEH HEH!)

I don't think it's a secret that our fellow blogger, Beamish, suddenly found out, too late, that he can't vote in HIS state, no fault of his own...red tape...WHY?

WHAT IS HAPPENING? When an American has doubts that his vote will count, we are in BIG TROUBLE.

I want EVERY venue...FOX, Networks (ya, right, like THEY care?), talkshows, CNN (I can dream) to GET THIS INFORMATION OUT.

ONE SOLDIER CAN"T VOTE..that is a travesty. Even if it's ONLY Greg.

Tony...I am definitely going to suggest that..thanks SO SO MUCH..great advice.

Thanks, everybody...this is NUTS.

Welp, needless to say Z, this post of yours has me fired up....why can't these stupid bastages get it right???? This is how it went when I was overseas.

I agree, contact your congressman immediately. If they don't listen write an editorial to your paper...or perhaps a local armed forces office will help.

I am in the same situation. I sent in for my husband's absentee ballot at the end of July and merely got it 1 week ago. By the time he gets it, fills it out, and sends it back, it'll be too late. I feel helpless right now...it's too late to do anything. But this is definitely something we need to address with representatives, senators...why we can bank online but there isn't a secure voting system for the military baffles me!

As I pointed out in my blog today, its worse than you think. Nancy Pelosi is trying to keep a bill that will help improve this situation from getting out of committee.

What the heck are Democrats up to? Well, I guess we know.

Praesidium, Sam Huntington isn't listed on your blog team! Are you BEAK? TELL ME! You don't write like Beak!!

Sam Huntington said...

No, Z ... I'm Sam (not "beak"). I'm the blog owner, assisted by Corina and Roland.

Thanks

Sorry about that, SAM!! I misinterpreted your info.

Nice to meet you, Sam. Really nice.

I just sent your blog link AND the link to the Military Times article showing how most servicemen would vote for McCain (if they COULD?), to a friend in Boston whom I suspect will think I'm being overly Republican. I'll be curious to see his response.

See, what's happened, is that the left demonized the Right so much that nothing we can really say makes much impact. Facts are fascist, as far as the Left is concerned, come to think of it. Very scary.
maybe I'll blog that. thanks.

What I don't get is, why, if people in the states are voting on computers, can't the military personnel?

This is a crime. Eight years have gone by since this happened in 2000.
Here we are in the technological age, and these men and women have to use snail mail?

I guess the Demonazis aren't leaving anything to chance.

hermit's right.

If there's a CHANCE the military can unseat THE ONE, we have to make sure our soldiers are SCREWED.

Every military unit (battalion/squadron and higher) has a “Voting Assistance Officer.” It is the VAO’s job to (1) ensure that every service person is aware that they can vote absentee; (2) provide a ballot request form to each person who asks for one; (3) answer questions that the serviceman may have about voting; (4) maintain a record of ballots requests requested and submitted; and (5) provide notary services as necessary.

Each service headquarters reminds “all concerned” to gear up for federal voting cycles, and part of that is to ensure that the federal absentee ballot request forms are available in sufficient quantity. Of course, it is always possible that the “last thing” anyone thinks about before deploying into a combat zone is whether mount-out boxes contain these forms, so it is always possible some units will have a shortage of these forms; it is an easily corrected problem.

The real problem is once these forms are delivered to local election officials, is whether they are counted. If the county is predominantly Democratic, it is a relatively easy to throw these request forms away and pretend they never arrived. It is more difficult, I think, to throw away actual ballots. PFC Jones knows whether he actually receives a ballot from back home; he knows if he executed the ballot and returned it. What Jones does not know is whether election officials actually counted his ballot.

There are too many “holes” in this system. And to think that the Speaker of the House of Representatives is attempting to block legislation that will help improve the system is simply unconscionable. And of course, she’s immune from prosecution.

BUT THAT’S NOT ALL. Disruption to voting procedures is the subject of this article. You should go read it.

I sent the following messages to my NH elected officials using military.com. The first one is to our Demoncrap rep and the second one is to our two Republican Senators.

Military Voter Protection Act (HR 5673).

You had best do the right thing for our heroic military personel if you like your job! That is not a threat, IT IS A PROMISE! We voters will keep it.

Sincerely,

The Average America

Military Voter Protection Act (HR 5673).

When this bill gets to the senate, I am confident that you will do the right thing for our heroic military personel. I think it is absolutely abhorrent that 100% of their votes aren't counted. They should be THE
FIRST ones counted and every military person anywhere in the world should be guaranteed of receiving their absentee ballot ON TIME! Thank you Sir.

Sincerely,

The Average American

I already got one response.
