The Media Memo....Osama wants McCAIN to win?? Since when?

Okay..for MONTHS, we've all seen Hamas and Al Aqsa Brigade and anarchists like Ayers (if you need a link on this, you've been visiting Plato for six months OR you are voting for Obama and YOU don't know who Ayers is, either!....or you ARE Obama and you don't know who Ayers is!!!!!), and on and on, all supporting Obama, right? Sure. ALL of them...the news was always "..and the LAST thing Al Qaeda wants is a McCain win because HE'S TOUGH ON TERROR!"

BUT GUESS WHAT!! 2 weeks before the election: Have you listened to the news just TODAY? All day....dribs and drabs of "And experts are now saying Al Qaeda wants McCain because ..." Well, the reason was SO stupid I can't even think of it right now! HONESTLY! (Some blog piece, huh? Hang in with me...the premise is important enough without the details, I think)

AND ARE YOU READY? (drum roll here!) Isn't it a HUGE COINCIDENCE?.......Obama mentioned TERROR for the first time..maybe EVER ...TODAY? HE MENTIONED THE TALIBAN! (no, not that he has some relative in the Taliban.... of course, who knows?... ...but I digress!!!)..... HE MET WITH HIS NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISORS TODAY (none of whose names we heard, did you notice that? At least the news I heard didn't mention them!) and TODAY the media started telling us about this crush on McCain terrorists have!

SO...Let's do a recap: The media's telling us Al Qaeda is hoping McCain wins. (MEMO TO 'AMERICAN VOTER SELF': Oops! BETTER not vote for McCain!) They weren't telling us that for the last six months, SO WHAT SUDDENLY HAPPENED?!....... OBAMA met with SECURITY ADVISORS ON TERROR! TODAY!!

ALL IN ONE DAY.........WHAT AN INCREDIBLE COINCIDENCE................right? (not)

geeeeeeeZ!

That's odd. The most recent Al Qaeda tape transcript I read looked like a Daily Kos retread, chock full of left-wing talking points.

It's damned near a semantics argument trying to distinguish the difference between an Osama supporter and an Obama supporter.

Maybe it's one of those Dark Knight Joker things, He is having so much fun with the fight he does not want to see us roll over and die by voting in Obama.

The abuse being thrown at Sarah Palin is beyound compare. I've never seen such dirt thrown at a Candidate before in my life. Are thet that scared of her? It can't be only because she's a women!!
With what they're throwing at Sarah, and the grace with which she takes it and keeps her chin up, I don't think I've ever seen anyone more courageous. She is one special lady. I can't help but wonder how many of these women that have such a deep resentment of Sarah Palin had abortions in their past and Sarah brings this unpleasant memory to the surface and puts them under conviction. I wish that I could say this more skillfully, but Ayers may not be the only unrepentant American.

Pepper: yes, in a word. The DEM/MSM ARE that frightened of her. This is all-out WAR and EVERY venue, dirt clod, bolt, chunk of rock, piece of rebar, shard of jagged glass are being utilized in order to beat both McCain and Palin to death -- assisted quite purposely in concert with millions and millions of dollars. And STILL it is NOT a WALKAWAY campaign by Obama!

CNN is the most disgusting network as far as their coverage of gov. Palin. The misquote by the national review reporter should be corrected and they should apologize to gov Palin. Outrageous, disgusting, no credibility, and I hope all intelligent people will boycott this network. You have gone over the edge on your smear campaign against gov. Palin.

I don’t know who Obama’s security advisors are, either. We ought to assume, though, that they are well-educated, thoughtful individuals who no doubt have something important to contribute to a presidential candidate. But like some of the goof balls that advised George Bush, most of whom also were well educated and thoughtful, they are capable of proffering bad advice. To understand this, we need to consider how well “advisors” understand the executive’s policy objectives. If the policy is founded on a general lack of understanding about historic development, culture, the short and long-term objectives of an adversary (no matter how slight that misunderstanding is), available resources to counter an adversary, or the importance of having alternative courses of action, then it is easy to see how, not having learned the lessons of the past, we will be forced to repeat them.

For years, this country ignored the threat of terrorism, and of the need for broad counter-intelligence/counter-terrorism programs. We paid for that in 1983, in 1993, and again in 2001. There is also a good argument that we paid for it many times over in the intervening years by attacks on barracks, embassies, and warships. We are fortunate that there has not been another attack since 2001; history alone will tell us whether this has been partly the result of military operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. It is certainly true that domestic agencies have stepped up to the plate; it helps to have the Patriot Act to ferret out terrorists here at home.

Notice, however, that the Democrats hate the Patriot Act, and no doubt intend to repeal it. They will also make massive cuts to spending in homeland security and defense. Federal money that has been flowing into the states for use by first responders will dry up. Fewer federal agents will enable domestic terrorists to continue their work — which is their long-range plan. Given the attitudes among Democrats, such as terrorism is best handled within civilian courts, Al Qaeda doesn’t like McCain at all . . . but I do believe they will love an Obama presidency. They would like nothing better than to have our Constitution as their guardian. Of course, this is what the American people will get with an Obama presidency; if they elect him, I cannot help but say they will deserve whatever happens as a result.

My first thought on this endorsement was that it was a type of reverse psychology. Al-Qaeda watches our political system. I wonder if the thinking is that an endorsement by them is the kiss of death for McCain.

Explanation for Palin Hate Syndrome (a variant of Bush derangement syndrome and take-off from Newt Hate 101):

RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it." Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.

RULE 8: "Keep the pressure on. Never let up." Keep trying new things to keep the opposition off balance. As the opposition masters one approach, hit them from the flank with something new. (Attack, attack, attack from all sides, never giving the reeling organization a chance to rest, regroup, recover and re-strategize.)

Interesting thoughts, mustang. Can I interpret this as an admission that you'd be more comfortable with martial law?

Farmer, I think you'll find that what is hated most about Palin is her stupidity.

Sorry, I don't want dumb shallow VP's. I see no reason to apologize for that sage position.

Anonymous said...

Sage position? LOL! I still haven't taught you what wisdom is, have I? It would help for you to think of it as being something diametrically opposite to "justice".

Now just how "wise" DO you like your rulers, again? You'd be well advised to emulate Erasmus'Wise men of Gotham, and leave the business of wisdom to those who sit amongst our nation's citizen-sovereigns.

As the cynical philospher Diogenes of Sinope once said to all his potential buyers in the slave market, "I rule over men, let me sold to whomever is looking for a master."

I agree that Obama really wants Osama to win, but he knows his endorsement is counter-productive. He knows that he can probably twist Obama around his little finger with ease.

The thing is, if you asked al Qaeda who they'd fear most as terrorist hunter and killer, they'd choose McCain over Obama. The dichotomy is that al Qaeda wanted this war to happen between the West and Islam; they foresaw their own demise, but hoped that their actions would spur the Islamic world to rise up and answer THEIR call to "jihad". It didn't happen. However, thanks to media circus around "abu ghraib" and the negative coverage of Iraq, for a while, al Qaeda enjoyed new life and recruitment. But it's thanks to the war in Iraq that al Qaeda has lost legitimacy in the eyes of many Muslims. They've been exposed for their brutality and violence against fellow Muslims who can't possibly live up to their narrow standards and interpretation of Islamic law.

al Qaeda wants war. They want martyrdom. I say, give it to them in spades and send every each and last one of them to hell, do not pass go, do not collect your 73 virgins.

John McCain is the right man to deliver that request.

THIS IS ALL ABOUT REVERSE PSYCHOLOGY...THE ALINSKY METHOD AGAIN.

Pepper! Welcome, glad to have you here..good thinking

Mustang, our constitution has become something that ONLY guards our enemies. MOnths ago, I started seeing the muslims at frontpagemag.com use "let the courts decide!" And it was said days later by muslims interviewed on televisino for troubles they'd caused, too. It's the new mantra, they haven't stopped.
Our constitution protects al qaeda, too...and terrorists at Gitmo.......and illegals thru sanctuary cities,etc..

Our Constitution has been perverted due to the left who feels everyone else deserves it more than Americans do. we can step aside and BE KIND, we're "Better than them", which is possibly the most dangerous ridiculous statement the left's ever made.

Aristotle had it right when he said "TOLERANCE AND APATHY ARE THE LAST VIRTUES OF A DYING SOCIETY" Talk about what's going on in America. Thanks to the Left.

What I was wondering yesterday with the 'national security' summit that only included Obama and his supporters, where was Colin Powell? Wasn't his endorsement suppose to put everyone at ease about Obama's cred in the arena? Didn't Obama say he'd use Powell as an adviser? The only somewhat conservative Democrat that I saw during the dog and pony show of a press conference was Sam Nunn. All the rest were from failed foreign policy decisions of Clinton and Carter.

Farmer, I'm not sure why you reference The Wise Men of Gotham. Are you implying that Palin is a holy fool?

Anonymous said...

Because only a fool would want the king to build a highway through his own village.

It's almost time (Halloween) for some Washington Irving tales of Gotham

The village is most famed for the stories of the "Wise Men of Gotham". These depict the people of the village as being stupid. However, the reason for the behaviour is believed to be that the villagers wished to feign madness in order to avoid a Royal Highway being built through the village, as they would then be expected to build and maintain this route. Madness was believed at the time to be highly contagious, and when King John's knights saw the villagers behaving as if insane, the knights swiftly withdrew and the King's road was re-routed to avoid the village.

One of the mad deeds seen by the knights, was a group of villagers fencing off a small tree in order to keep a cuckoo captive from the sheriff of Nottingham. One of the three pubs/inns in the village is known as The Cuckoo Bush Inn.

Reminded of the foolish ingenuity of Gotham's residents, Washington Irving gave the name "Gotham" to New York City in his Salmagundi Papers (1807). In turn, Bob Kane named the pastiche New York City home of Batman Gotham City. The existence of Gotham, Nottinghamshire in the DC Universe was recently confirmed in Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight #206

Mustang's statement, referring to al Qaida:

//. . . but I do believe they will love an Obama presidency. They would like nothing better than to have our Constitution as their guardian. Ducky's response:

//Can I interpret this as an admission that you'd be more comfortable with martial law?

Did Mr. Ducky read the material before he commented?

I say, he did not.

Because if he had read it with comprehension, he would know this is not what Mustang was referring to. Mustang was speaking of al Qaida, a group that does not have protections under the United States Constitution. Martial law does not apply to this discussion. Ducky gets an F for the day.

Z said...

LA Sunsett, I'm pretty sure Ducky feels that AL Qaeda SHOULD have protection under our constitution, here AND there.

And the Gitmo guys, too..........no question about OUR safety, no question as to erring on OUR side.........even at their peril or their unfair detention. I KNOW it would be unbelievably awful to be unfairly detained, but they aren't there because they were selling candy to children or hooves to camels!!

Literally, there is always quite a bit of misinformation going around during election years, but truly, I have never seen the outright lies & distortions that I've seen this election! But I still say that the election is very close & in fact may even be a lead for McCain/Palin. Keep positive & vote! We did today. Now, if we get knocked off or something, our vote is already cast! God Bless!!

Mustang,

I think Bush's foreign policy can best be described as schizophrenic. Or maybe "sloppy" is the better word.

It seems to me that the attempted hybridization of the democratic globalist (aka "neocon") and realist schools of foreign policy could be a corrollary to Murphy's Law - what can go wrong, will.

---

On another train of thought entirely, I think this Presidential election cycle is the best case for repealing the 12th and 17th Amendments to the Constitution. Senators would be the appointed representatives of their individual state legislatures, and the Vice-President would be the guy that came in second place in the Presidential race.

It would virtually destroy the two-party tit-for-tat scheme on the national level.
