Our buddy "Imp" sent me this email (below in italics) and I had to share it with you because it so well captures what I whine about so much:  that the Dems obfuscate and/or deflect from really important matters with slogans that don't usually make sense let alone capture the true essence of the subject:

The large heavily populated Metro areas of the State are dominated by  emotional adolescents in the bodies of adults. I say this because my  liberal friends say they will vote for Jerry Brown because of narrow, emotional, social issues and/or blind obeisance to the letter "D."

If I say, "Jerry Brown empowered the unions to trash the state's  finances and is completely dependent upon them for his election  support" they say "Yes, but he's for a Woman's Right to Choose!"

If I say, "Jerry Brown wants to pass the Cap and Trade bill that will  cost an estimated 1,000,00 California jobs," they say "Yes, but he  loves the Environment."

If I say, "Jerry Brown trashed the judiciary system and as governor  his pro-criminal policies led to an explosion in crime rates. He says  he favors the same policies still!," they say "Yes, but he supports a Woman's Right to Choose."

They cling to these statements over and over like a drowning man  clutches at a straw - it doesn't matter how many facts I hit them with, or how many holes I can point out in their arguments, it falls  back to emotional positions. Oh, and that Meg Whitman's a bitch and they don't like her and she's an icky Republican.

We are being destroyed by these shallow, emotional children posing as adults.

The other day, I read an article which said the global warming bunch of scientists are worried that the earth's drying out....  One could say to a lefty here in California "You're drying out the WHOLE Central Valley which feeds about 30% of this country because of one little FISH which thrives elsewhere so why have you turned off the water?"   They'll come back with "We're for the environment!" (implying Conservatives just love filthy oceans and bad air, as usual).   Because of this fish, jobs have been lost, a huge amount of homes have foreclosed in that area, the economies have suffered in those towns in that area (less taxes for the State) and we have a lot less food for the country because "We are for the environment!"    Don't you wonder at the ridiculous little phrases of the Left and how so many of them actually don't THINK them through?  I sure do. Or, do they think them through but have an agenda..........which........WHAT, exactly?

Nope, I don't wonder at those. I instead wonder how leftists sit down without choking themselves.

What's more ridiculously absurd to me are people who actually believe a leftist could express his beliefs in a manner that is unmistakably rational and intelligent. Leftists are the sponges in the knife set. As sharp as bowling balls. They could lower the average IQ of a room full of dust motes.

There's no reasoning with them. If they were capable of reason, they wouldn't be leftists in the first place.

This is my take on American politics and how they've formatted brains: the two party system, which I like because of the violent opposition it creates instead of the European compromise leading nowhere, has however forced people into camps and have made them stop thinking.

If you're a social Liberal and fiscal conservative, which I found a lot of people are, you may still vote Democrat. Especially if your goal in life is to feel good about yourself and be loved.

Likewise, a lot of social conservatives are ready to embrace statism and would embrace "compassionate conservatism", forgetting small government and freedom very easily if they could.

A lot of those people, in both camps, haven't realized that when the ship has sunk economically, social issues really don't matter. They actually get totally de-emphasized b/c the struggle for job and money takes over.

Job, money, prosperity, that's what allows women rights to happen. That's what allows minorities to be more integrated in the workplace and society.

If it weren't, then poor countries would be the beacons of those rights and you wouldn't see discrimination.

Even in France, unemployment and regulations in the job market have created discriminations.

That's what needs to be communicated to those Libs.

I am socially liberal but I've done the intellectual process of understanding that less prosperity, more government leads to a lot less rights.

"Shallow, emotional children posing as adults"... what a great way to sum them up, Z.

How true! Spending money on pie-in-the-sky research (electric cars), "saving" the environment with tax dollars (the little abundant fish) and social experiments (public school) are among the things that kill jobs and rob the economy.

I think liberals and those on the left, are so used to the way things have been, they can't imagine it could change enough to affect them adversely.

Most are in total denial, don't want to even consider factual info, and can't bring themselves to admit they've been wrong about anything.

It's engaging in a "feel good" emotional state of being, instead of critical thinking. The reason they hate conservatives, is because we rock their comfort zone.

When the day comes that they say, "how did this happen?", it'll be too late to even bother to say "I told you so".

As for Jerry Brown, he hasn't changed a bit. He's the same guy we used to call "Governor Moonbeam".

He's now shooting for his quadruple dip into the state pension pool, and never held a private job.

During the campaign for Prop.13 here in California, when he finally saw the handwriting on the wall, and that we were going to win that battle, he said, and I quote: "I guess a man's home is his castle"!

He guessed? People were set to lose their homes because property taxes were going through the roof due to extraordinary inflation and exhorbitant assessments based on that and appreciation of those homes, and he guessed?

He couldn't have cared less. What he cared about was his political skin.

Imp's right. We are being destroyed by shallow, emotional children posing as adults and it's the truth that suffers most.

Without that we are sure to keep repeating history, and those who like the title "progressive", are very likely to ensure regression into something akin to a primitive version of survival of the fittest.

"We are being destroyed by these shallow, emotional children posing as adults."

Oh, but you forgot, they're "progressing" us towards a brighter collectivist future. Don't we ALL want that? Don't we ALL want to keep moving forard?

PUKE!

Vegas GUy, I'm DYING to know why you like THE YELLOW WALLPAPER so much.

You'll have to read it yourself. You can get it online if you google it. You also need to read why she wrote the story in the first place.

I read it, that's why I'm asking :-)

got that, Vegas guy......much better story now that I know WHY she wrote it; it was compelling and her style of writing certainly well supported her mental situation but I thought 'there's really no story there'.....the story's in WHY, if you ask me. Now I rather like the piece.

They destroy an entire State's economy, livelihoods, communities, homes in order to protect a minnow -- and think NOTHING of it...But, try denying a human being the "right" to willfully destroy another human being before it's first breath -- all H@#$ breaks loose & the wrath of Lilith pours down upon your head...
