Sunday Faith Blog

"I bind unto myself today the strong name of the Trinity, by invocation of the same, the Three in One and the One in Three.
I bind this day to me, forever, by power of faith, Christ's incarnation, his baptism in the Jordan river, His death on the cross for my salvation; his bursting from the spiced tomb, his riding up the heavenly way, his coming at the day of doom, I bind unto myself today.
I bind unto myself today, the power of God to hold and lead, his eye to watch, his might to stay, his ear to harken to my need, the wisdom of my God to teach, his hand to guide, his shield to ward, the Word of God to give me speech, his heavenly host to be my guard.

Christ be with me, Christ within me, Christ behind me, Christ before me, Christ beside me, Christ to win me.  Christ to comfort and restore me.  Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ in quiet, Christ in danger, Christ in hearts of all that love me, Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.  I bind unto myself the name, the strong name of the Trinity, by invocation of the same, the Three in One and One in Three, of whom all nature hath creation, eternal Father, Spirit, Word; praise to the God of my salvation, salvation is of Christ the Lord!"

St. Patrick, c. 430

I thought  the whole prayer above was wonderful but particularly liked the words I put in bold and, even more particularly, those in bold italics.  What a concept.

"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.  The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."  Galatians 2:20

Have a blessed Sunday.....

Beamish, I can't wait, either..I love corned beef/cabbage (tho my Irish hairdresser of some years back assured me they don't know that in Ireland!) Mr. Z adored corned beef hash and eggs at our local deli.

Mr. Finnell, thanks for the second invitation. I don't 'follow', but thanks. Maybe I'll come by again

Corned beef and cabbage is good, but I love corned beef hash more.

Usually I go to McDonald's for St. Pat's Day, like I go to Taco Bell for Cinco de Mayo. :P

Corned beef hash with eggs is awesome.

wait, your McD's has CORNED BEEF HASH?
I like the hash but the boiled dinner is MY FAVORITE..with French's mustard...oh, MAN! :-)

No no... McDonald's is just an Irish name :P

You'd love my corned beef hash.

I fry up the shredded taters and diced onions to nice yummy golden brown then mix in the corned beef and chopped parsley and pepper and make semi-crispy patties out of it. Awesome with a fried egg served on top :)

What a great thought. Have a good week. A little late in posting but had the opportunity to spend time with family this weekend. Need more of that.

Now, this is also the second posting of this. Looks as if "someone doesn't like things I post Z. I know it's not you.

I don't like corned beef and cabbage! GASSY to say the least!

Sorry your comment didn't take the first time, I just don't know how to prevent this!

I would rather live
my life as if there is a God,

And die to find out
there isn't, than live my life

As if there isn't,
and die to find out there is.

Me, too, FT.
