The Last Word

"We have often heard that the devil is in the details. But these days, I'm afraid he's in the Oval Office. Who else would have run on the promise to radically transform America? Who else would have thought that America, of all places, required a radical transformation? If a normal human being were asked which countries could use an overhaul, he wouldn't be thinking of the United States. Would he mention Russia and Venezuela? No doubt. Would he have China, Yemen and North Korea, on the short list? Absolutely. How about Saudi Arabia, Syria, Cuba and Iran? Indubitably. On the other hand, it's actually the one promise Obama has kept. But, who else but he and Satan would even suggest that a nation created by such giants as Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, Madison and Adams, had to wait 232 years for a leftwing community organizer to fix what wasn't broken? And when this arrogant pipsqueak chastises the Republicans in Congress for doing nothing about the debt crisis when they're the ones who presented and voted for Paul Ryan's budget plan months ago while this schmuck has been off golfing and fund-raising, does he really believe we take his words seriously? Great men, it's said, speak truth to power; Obama speaks power to truth." --columnist Burt Prelutsky

I always thought Obama's ears looked suspiciously like horns. We know he speaks with forked tongue, and now, he is showing the nation his tail.

Satan, he is.

Great editorial. He spoke the truth plain as could be. One must remember that it has been two years without a budget. Is the big push now because election year is looming? He can turn this around to say he tried but those pesky Republicans just refused to work with him. If he were truly interested in a balance budget, he would have been worried two years ago.

He knows how to quote all the great men, but the words are empty.

I love this post.

Trestin, it wasn't me, but Burt sure tells it like it is, huh? :-)

Bob......now, now.....it really almost feels satanic in the lies and misinformation, doesn't it.

Gramma2Many is right, isn't she: The media's reporting all this as if it's news that America's in such big trouble and those darned ol' Republicans just won't play ball and want to rape old ladies of their SS and Medicare...when Obama's been apparently sleeping for months and hasn't ever produced a budget to hash out.
awful.....
Gramma, that's exactly what he IS saying "These pesky R's just won't play ball to save our country!"
I heard Schumer and Durbin this morning and was SO angry at the very smug, condemnatory CRAP they're blaming on R's....We're all "ideological" because we think what they're doing is DEAD WRONG.
How about realizing what THEY want is BAD FOR THE COUNTRY? THat doesn't seem to enter into their equation.

Leticia, thanks...It always feels good when a post resonates with my buddies at geeez; when they hit me in a certain way, it's good others see it that way, too. With the media as leftwing as it is, it's important to hear two sides of issues SOMEWHERE and I swear it's our blogs sometimes which are the only place we hear things.
