D-DAY 2012....and a story by Z about D DAY

HOW THE D-DAY INVASION WOULD BE REPORTED BY TODAY'S MEDIA
(hat tip: Art Yerty)(Z: whoever he is, thanks!)

NORMANDY, FRANCE (June 6, 1944) Three hundred French civilians were killed and thousands more were wounded today in the first hours of America's invasion of continental Europe. Casualties were heaviest among women and children. Most of the French casualties were the result of artillery fire from American ships attempting to knock out German fortifications prior to the landing of hundreds of thousands of U.S. troops. Reports from a makeshift hospital in the French town of St. Mere Eglise said the carnage was far worse than the French had anticipated, and that reaction against the American invasion was running high. "We are dying for no reason, "said a Frenchman speaking on condition of anonymity. "Americans can't even shoot straight. I never thought I'd say this, but life was better under Adolph Hitler."  (Z:  Think Saddam Hussein!)
The invasion also caused severe environmental damage. American troops, tanks, trucks and machinery destroyed miles of pristine shoreline and thousands of acres of ecologically sensitive wetlands. It was believed that the habitat of the spineless French crab was completely wiped out, thus threatening the species with extinction. A representative of Greenpeace said his organization, which had tried to stall the invasion for over a year, was appalled at the destruction, but not surprised. "This is just another example of how the military destroys the environment without a second thought," said Christine Moanmore. "And it's all about corporate greed."  (Z: Think Al Gore and the the OWS!)

Contacted at his Manhattan condo, a member of the French government-in-exile who abandoned Paris when Hitler invaded, said the invasion was based solely on American financial interests. "Everyone knows that President Roosevelt has ties to 'big beer'," said Pierre LeWimp. "Once the German beer industry is conquered, Roosevelt's beer cronies will control the world market and make a fortune."

Administration supporters said America's aggressive actions were based in part on the assertions of controversial scientist Albert Einstein, who sent a letter to Roosevelt speculating that the Germans were developing a secret weapon -- a so-called "atomic bomb". Such a weapon could produce casualties on a scale never seen before, and cause environmental damage that could last for thousands of years. Hitler has denied having such a weapon and international inspectors were unable to locate such weapons even after spending two long weekends in Germany. Shortly after the invasion began, reports surfaced that German prisoners had been abused by American soldiers. Mistreatment of Jews by Germans at their so-called "concentration camps" has been rumored, but so far this remains unproven. (Z:  Think Iraq and nukes)

Several thousand Americans died during the first hours of the invasion, and French officials are concerned that the uncollected corpses will pose a public-health risk. "The Americans should have planned for this in advance," they said. 'It's their mess, and we don't intend to help clean it up." (end of article)  (Z: think American liberal blogs, MSNBC, etc etc etc)
Z:  It does sound like the NEW YORK TIMES, doesn't it?  I thought this piece was was very well done and wanted to share it.

I loved your story Z. You gave each other something to feel proud of that day.
Too bad liberals in this country can't see beyond their indoctrination to feel the same pride. Our president included.

Yeah, there weren't any. And despite what some said, the WMD's weren't shipped into Syria either (they didn't exist).

Not that The New York Times steno pool didn't print everything Chucklenuts fed them to make you believe that crock.

It was Khidir Hamza's congressional testimony that convinced Congress, Democrats included that Hussein needed to be stopped. Of course we didn't need any of that for Kosovo or the LRA....pet wars of the dems

And did you see all those Kurdish actors laying in the street pretending to be gassed.....now there's Oscar material.

Look at all these chucklenuts

The first story was hilarious, and completely realistic.

Your personal story was quite beautiful, and well written. You might think about writing a series of articles of your experiences, and putting them together in a book. You can self-publish on Amazon, you know.

Good stuff, Z.

Loved the story and yeah, I can almost guarantee that this is exactly how the MSM would report it.

I hope you don't mind if I snag this for my Facebook page?

Lisa, thanks....I have SO many Paris stories....should publish more of them. I appreciate your thoughts!

Ducky, the clear implication is the similarity of what's going on TODAY.
By the way, you can blame that Dem Congress for their going into Iraq, too. Although many of us still feel killing hundreds of thousands of Kurds and others is pretty "Mass" destructive.

Elbro...exactly... Oh, you even mention the Kurds :-) Good on you...ya, actors lying in the streets ...
Remember the Jenin killing of the little boy who was photographed with his father protecting him against the wall? Very famous photo condemning Israel? Oops...the boy wasn't killed as the media'd said. But, it sure worked to make Israel look bad.
Lots of actors in Arab lands...

Bob, I have some written; I need to write more. HUndreds in my head, like sitting next to Charles De Gaulle's grandson and chatting with him for an hour or so not knowing who he was...like being in a frame shop while two Frenchmen were beating each other up outside on the sidewalk like I was Kitty in Gunsmoke...I couldn't leave the shop (owner was one of the fighters) because every time I tried to step out, some guy was punched and flew across the doorway! Later, I suggested the owner have one of my cigarettes QUICK so the booze on his breath wouldn't be pronounced (liquid lunch)...he gasped and thanked me till the cops arrived. And carted him off. :-) But, no alcohol bust!

Leticia, I'd like you to...thanks. I hope you find the time to read my story to, way down at the last link; you're such a patriot, I think it would appeal to you xxx

Like Kitty in Gunsmoke----That was a good visual

Z..I love your personal story, and how you described everything. I could sense the pride you felt that day, and the feeling you had, maybe, of not being worthy of it, like you felt that you were taking credit for something you hadn't done. I understand that...I get it. I'm sure the lady did, too. Thanks so much for sharing...it makes ME feel proud, too!

I hate it that the journalists of today, and others, have so little respect, and regard for our country, and feel no pride, at all, for all the good that it has done, despite its faults.

It's sad, because the truth is, that we're still the greatest country in the world.

If only they could see beyond their own selfish, misguided, agendas...

Thanks TS/WS!

Jan, if you could only see the affection in her eyes as she described the Americans. It was very, very moving.
Every time I was in there after that, our eyes would meet...sounds corny, but it said a LOT.

I have to admit that when she first said "We French love the Americans," I said "Ooooh, I don't THINK SO!" But, then she explained Paris isn't France. You hear that a lot from the French (unless they're born IN Paris :-)

Z, yea, baby steps. They went from the majority of the population being very patriotic after LIBERATING Europe in WWII, and the schools actually presenting patriotic, valid, and challenging classes (Circa the 1960's) to now presenting Anti-patriotic or patriotic repressive, worthless study with no consequence for failure or laziness.

It ain't gonna turn out well.

This is what people like Ducky wish to achieve, yes?

That was spot on, Z.

Kid, you're so wise.
re Ducky,....:-)

Louie, it seems to be the case. Our children in America are so out of control (not all, but...) with parents siding with them instead of their teachers, with immorality everywhere they look, with so much negativity in government, so much fighting....the future looks so grim.
Then there's my nephew who's No. 1 in his BIOCHEM major at UCLA :-)
(yes, I'm bragging, I can't help it!) And all the other nephews and nieces with new law degrees, and MBA's, some are newly married to terrific people, etc...I'm so proud of them but they had CARING PARENTS and involved parents who kept watch....from a distance so they're still very cool kids, but cared for. And they knew it.
but, in general? Our kids are LOST.

Mark, thanks! xx

Kid said...

Z, There are some fantastic kids out there. The difference? They have fantastic parents.

It doesn't take a village hildebeast, it takes good parenting.

Z said...

Kid, I totally agree.

Another thing that REALLY worries me for America is the way kids are coddled....for instance, if they didn't win an award at school, they don't go to the awards ceremonies (God forbid their self esteem would be hurt in losing)......T Ball games are 10 minutes per side instead of "3 strikes yer OUT!" ...imagine?
So, nobody LOSES...woooo!

What kind of soldiers does that raise? What kind of businesses will people with no skills in negotiating or compromise or how to cope with losing HAVE? Every country needs strong minds, not SELF ESTEEM ABOVE ALL ELSE!

Self esteem comes with making good choices and learning from losses and mistakes, right?

we're in BIG TROUBLE>

Kid said...

Z, in those cases; Yes, we are breeding losers - the democrat's favorite voter base.

Losers can recognize when their candidate is a fricken loser, because They are fricken losers themselves.

Boom. obama/democrat voter base,

True Happiness Only come from hard work and the accomplishment that comes from same.

It is why the most unhappy people in America are he people dependent on the government for their daily bread.

This is SO simple.

(btw - I always put speeling errors in for the libtards to focus on. It's compassionate. God Forbid, I demand they concentrate and respond to Content)

Juan Williams would probably be a victim of spontaneous human combustion if someone actually demanded he perform above the level of a fricken 3 year old for the hundreds of thousands if not millions they actually pay his pathetic beyond belief ass.

Hey Juan. 10 points for a correct answer.............

What carries more weight - actual facts and figures or how you retarded niece fells about the freakin Economy.

Ahhhhhhhh, So sorry, but thanks for playing !

Z said...

In AMERICA! Imagine the downfall of having bred LOSERS? And we're nearly complete!

SHould I blame the left? Damn right I do. Not for ALL of it, but the constant SELF ESTEEM stuff, the ENTITLEMENT MENTALITY, the horrible attacks on patriotism, the constant rag of America not being exceptional (when everyone else in the WORLD who's not an agenda-driven NUT does), the encouragement, or at least tacit approval, of single mothers, etc etc.......
We could all go on and on.

I hope it can be solved; I look at the tattoo'd wonders, the punks with metal all over their faces, the way kids only want GRADES, not to LEARN, etc..and I get so worried.

As for Juan Williams...he seems like a nice guy, and I hear conservatives say he is, but he's SO not particularly SMART.

And he's always looking so 'lost'....he'll be fair for a while, then completely goes off the deep end...so weird.

BOb Beckel's just plain MEAN and NASTY...but they say he's a nice guy, too. I'm so tired of his constant reminders of his drinking and drugging days, as if that's a badge of HONOR now....."I was drunk through the cold war!" Well, congratulations! What a great achievement! (not)
