"They've Got His Back?"

Election 'fun' is starting....HERE is the source of this article:
President Barack Obama's reelection campaign is launching its first ad specifically aimed at black voters, a national radio spot entitled "We've Got Your Back," a campaign aide confirmed to Yahoo News. The Grio first reported the news.
"Four years ago, we made history. Now it's time to move forward and finish what we started together. We have to show the president we have his back," the bass-voiced narrator says over a drum track.
Obama crushed Senator John McCain among black voters in 2008 and is sure to trounce Mitt Romney in 2012 in that constituency.  But Democrats are leaving little to chance in an election defined by the weak economy, including stubbornly high jobless numbers, and need black voters to turn out in large numbers.
The Grio describes itself as "the first video-centric news community site devoted to providing African Americans with stories and perspectives that appeal to them but are underrepresented in existing national news outlets.

Can there be anything scarier or sadder in this great country than a Black president reaching out to a particular skin color?   "We've got your back"?  What's that mean exactly?    It appears that pollsters are showing a little bit less excitement in the Black voting bloc for Obama this year.  That's not to say they'll vote Republican, but they just won't bother to vote.

What would have happened had Obama geared ads to WHITE AMERICA, the other half of him,  so specifically?  YIKES!  "ARREST THAT MAN!" , right?   But, nooooooooooo

It's both revealing and deplorable that the President who was supposed to bring us all together is now resorting to ads targeted at separate, even disparate, constituencies. He seems to have forgotten the wisdom of Dr. King's observation that "We may have came here on different ships, but we're all in the same boat now." Driving wedges into the hull is not the way to stay afloat.

Simply more evidence on an extremely deep pile. Obinga is nothing more than a pedestrian IQ con-man who always got by on the work of others and playing the race benefit catagory to the max. The records may be hidden, but the essence of a person eventually shows through. With little other recourse, the flim-flam Socialist has to pander to the baser instincts. Vote for me, support me because, I'm black too. Talk about a low opinion of the black voter . If I am a black voter, who is the slightest bit awake, I am seriously insulted.

President Nothing.

President Obama has proven he doesn't have OUR backs. So the Black Community says they have "HIS" back. So what? What can they do to help this President get reelected without the support of ALL Americans? They don't have a majority, so even if 100% go to the polls and vote for Obama, it won't be enough. They need enough of the rest of us to get it done. And they don't have us and won't!

A report is out now that average American net worth has decreased by a whopping 40% in the last 3 years. Wake up Black Americans! That includes ALL OF YOU, too! This President is kicking your butts, too. Wake up!!!!

We are all part of the "40% dropped."

There are so many things we need to do to grow our business, but cannot because we have to send that money to Washington DC and some to Charleston, too. 45 cents of every dollar we make goes to state and federal taxes, then there are all the other taxes, i.e., annual property & school taxes, fire fees, WV automobile use taxes, automobile license plates, pet taxes, all sorts of excise taxes & other taxes tacked onto everything from Cable TV, telephone bills, utility bills to Internet service and beyond, etc., etc.,etc.

According to President Obama, the private sector is just fine. What an idiot, he has no idea what his abysmal economic policies have done to us. Furthermore, he couldn't care less. I feel like he wishes us all poverty, living in squalor, almost as though we deserve to live like that regardless of the personal effort we put forth to provide for ourselves, our families and our employees.

He doesn't value productive, disciplined citizens. As long as we're able to hang on through this misery, "we, the private sector, are just fine" as Obama put it.

Well, if we are enduring, Mr. President, it's in spite of your BS!

I'd love to hear a Romney Pac run an ad asking "Hey folks, your net worth is down 50% under the Black Messiah. Ready for another good reaming?

Isn't that also what Jimmy Hoffa said at his rally for Obama!!

Obama doesn't have their backs. Youth and minority unemployment is way up under his "leadership."

Sam Huntington said...

But Silverfiddle, the truth doesn't matter. Years ago, a black Mayor in New Orleans ran a campaign that included this gem: “If you're black, you need to vote for Barthelemy." It worked. As an interesting side note, no one alive today can recall the last time New Orleans had an honest government, but then again, they haven’t had a Republican mayor since 1876. My, my, my, those Democrats sure do loves their corruption doesn’t they?

HE'S BACK ON BUSH AND F&F AND APPARENTLY DOESN'T KNOW THAT BUSH NEVER LET GUNS GO UNSUPERVISED AND THAT THE MEXICAN GOV'T WAS TOLD ABOUT IT.

HE'S EVEN WHINING THAT 'THIS IS THE NINTH TIME I'VE COME TO ANSWER QUESTIONS' WHEN ANYBODY WITH PEA BRAINS WOULD KNOW THAT, IF HE'D ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS, HE WOULDN'T HAVE TO COME BACK.

I HOPE SOME OF YOU ARE ABLE TO WATCH... ON CSPAN

As I pointed out over at AOW's place, This ad is wasted money. He already has the black vote. They will vote for him because he is the same color as they are, and it matters not what he has or hasn't done for them. He is one of them and that's all that matters. He needn't have wasted the money.

Another thought: Actually, targeting ethnic populations isn't unusual. It is common practice in the advertising game. If you drive through any predominately black neighborhoods in any American City you will see billboards abounding depicting black people enjoying Newport and Salem cigarettes, and various brands of malt liquor.

It is racial stereotyping, of course. I'm not saying it's right, but, advertising companies know what they're doing.

It is what it is.

Not a chance. Doesn't matter if their net worth goes down too. The ones that are receiving the guv bennies will just ask for, demand more. Claiming that they've been the hardest hit!

Never once connecting the dots that it's Obummer who's caused their despair.

They'll do what Al Charltan, Waters, Jordan, Jerkson, CBC and the NAACP tell them to do...VOTE SKIN!

Now...who are the real racists than no one will talk about?

While he's producing campaign videos aimed exclusively at Blacks?

Shhhhhhhh....crickets.

Romney should release an ad, saying:

"I will be President to all the American people. That is the duty and honor of the Presidency! What's good for the country and it's people, will be my goal every day I'm serving in the White House, the people's house! And that house is not exclusive to any one group, it is a place where unity must be sought, not choosing winners and losers.

The way to accomplish it, is to free up the economy, and do away with over-regulation. I will lower taxes, and release our population from dictates and orders.

It's time to recognize once again, that freedom is the answer, and the best the government can do, is to get out of the way, and let our people thrive and live their lives without a President and czars ordering them around as if they were serfs.

It is not politicians who built this great country, it is our people who built it, with ingenuity, and hard work.
God bless America!"

"Driving wedges into the hull is not the way to stay afloat."

An apt analogy, Viburnum.

The trouble is, as I said over a AOW's earlier, the electorate is not rational -- not quite sane even. Most -- on both sides -- are motivated almost entirely by preconceived notions, and remain impervious to intelligent argument.

Very little thoughtful analysis or critical thinking, if any, goes into deciding where to cast their vote.

I honestly think far too many would prefer to drown or go broke than even dream of changing their views.

I read somewhere quite recently -- I think it was a Pew poll -- that the vast majority of college graduates will vote for Obama.

What does that tell us about today's college graduates, and more important what does it tell us about colleges and universities?

Lisa said, "We've got your back means absolutely nothing. "

Hey! That's exactly what I was going to say. However, after a little thought, I finally figured it out.

"We've got your back" is code for, "Vote for me because I'm black." It is just another case of Democrats not being able to defend performance, and is another example of Democrats playing the race card.

Ducky: "Remember Willie Horton, viburnum?"

I remember him quite well.

I remember that he was a convicted murderer serving a life sentence without parole, when in a completely inexplicable decision the Massachusetts Supreme Court expanded a prison furlough program to include lifers previously ineligible. I remember that Governor Mike Dukakis vetoed the bill passed by the Massachusetts legislature that would have reinstated the restriction on giving weekend passes to prisoners convicted of capital crimes. I remember that Mr. Horton, having unsurprisingly, skipped out on his furlough subsequently assaulted a couple in Maryland, twice raping the woman after beating and stabbing her companion.

I also recollect that when Mike Dukakis was running for president, all of the above was brought up as being illustrative of the governors astounding lack of foresight, imagination and intellect as a decision and policy maker.

I recall as well a completely scurrilous attempt on the part of the some of the supporters of Mr Dukakis to decry the exposition of those facts as 'fear mongering' based solely on the entirely coincidental and irrelevant color of Mr Horton's skin.

I guess you're right. Nothing much has changed. The Democrats are still playing the race card whenever they feel their candidate may be in trouble.

As a sidebar to my previous comment, it was back about that time when I saw one of my all time favorite bumper stickers.

Z,
You've got to love a campaign ad to the black community in which the narrator sounds like Barry White. What's next, a campaign to voter fraud practioners with a narrator that sounds like Eric Holder. Oh, he's already done that one, right?

Hmmm, take heart, z ...
"President Barack Obama is rapidly losing support among African-American voters in North Carolina, a new poll out today from the Democratic-leaning Public Policy Polling shows.

The poll finds that Mitt Romney would get 20 percent of the African-American vote if the election were held today, compared with 76 percent for Obama. Overall, Romney has a 48 percent to 46 percent lead on Obama in the crucial swing state."

---------
North Carolina is absolutely crucial in November. Not that you won't be prostrate to your Galtian overlords regardless of who wins but this might make you feel better.

The guy is such a smug punk I can't say I don't want to see him get his ass kicked but I'll blank the presidential vote. Can't bring myself to give one to Mittens.

I am voting for Scott Brown over that blue dog phony Fauxcahontas Warren.

Mark, I thought all cigarette billboards were banned! How awful that they're prevalent where minorities are. Killing them off doesn't MATTER? disgusting.

ConF, all the black "Leaders" do that, don't they.

Pris, I'd vote for you, too, believe me! I think most of us would.

Ducky, why would you say Obama's losing support? And what percentage of Black Americans who're not voting for him again do you think would vote for Romney?
I know there are plenty of conservative Blacks who would anyway, but among the Black Dems...what percentage?

Law&Order, you're brilliant :-)
I wish you could have seen Holder this morning...the amazing "well BUSH DID it, TOO!" stuff is ridiculous and hackneyed by now.
They get Bush's F&F so wrong you want to laugh; then you realize it's our AG and you get a little scared that he doesn't know.

Viburnum, great bumper sticker :-)

I'm seeing some around here in L.A. that have Obama's picture and OMG under it....you think it's OH MY GOD until you get close and it says in smaller letters OBAMA MUST GO....amazing here in Liberal Town.
Another one is a beige picture of Obama looking none too happy and word underneath is HISTORY.
Loved that one!

I'll volunteer to be her AG too. Along with J.Christian Adams as my deputy AG.

I've got your back...Holder drives down American jurisprudence to Detroit levels with this:

"“In short, you’ve violated the public trust, in my view, by failing and refusing to perform the duties of your office,” Cornyn said.

“So, Mr. Attorney General, it’s more sorrow than — than regret — than anger that I would say that you leave me no alternative but to join those that call upon you to resign your office.”

Leahy said that Cornyn had accused Holder of perjury, so the attorney general had the right to respond.

“Yeah( sic), with all due respect, senator, there is so much that’s factually wrong with the premises that you started your statement with, you know, it’s almost breathtaking in its inaccuracy, so I — but I will simply leave it at that,” Holder said.

“You know, we want to talk about Fast and Furious. This is, I guess, what, the ninth time? …If you want to talk about Fast and Furious, I’m the attorney general that put an end to the misguided tactics that were used in Fast and Furious.”

“I don’t have any intention of resigning. I heard the White House press officer say yesterday that the president has absolute confidence in me. ( Which is telling in itself )

I don’t have any reason to believe that that, in fact, is not — is not the case,” Holder added.

So what this boils down to is not justice...not law...but...Obummers insistence that this corrupt AG, remains in office.

Unfortunately...these "average" white guys don't know what JIVE BS is when they hear it.

Holder is a racist jerk-off, but the House and Senate are wasting their time if they think they can successfully charge Holder with obstruction of Congress. And let’s face it; no one obstructs congress more than congress.

I hate what this government has become.

So here’s my plan. We all chip in and buy an island in the Caribbean. After we all move there, we declare war on the United States. Maybe seize a fishing boat or something. Then, we lose the war after about ten minutes, and sue for foreign aid. We spend the rest of our lives on the island, living a life of luxury thanks to the American taxpayer. To make sure we are paid every year, we invite members of congress down for a free weekend with hookers, and take tons of pictures.

It worked for LBJ.

Mark said...

Yes, Mustang, and that scenario worked for Leonard Wibberly, too.

Mark said...

Sorry. I misspelled his name. Wibberley.

Z said...

"It worked for LBJ." Good one, Mustang.

Imp, Holder doesn't even truly understand how Bush handled his version of F&F...they Bush administration had started winding it DOWN and, when they started it, they informed the MX gov't, which Holder apparently did not do.
Plus, from what I've read many times, Bush never let the agents give guns to bad guys and then not keep their eyes on the guns, watching closely where they went.

I remember how the agents were so stunned when they were told to drop off guns and go. They testified that they said "GO? You mean leave the guns with the cartels and leave without watching? GO?" Pretty telling.

I had to leave this morning and never heard HOlder say OBAMA LIKES ME! Good quotes there, Imp, I thank you for them.
What a WIMP he is. Like his boss.

And you can be AG when Mustang starts his island retreat. Mr. Z was always joking about going to an island, too. I'm so glad that at least he's not seeing what's happening to America. And he was GERMAN and was "horrified" at what he was seeing of socialist trends, etc...horrified.
