Fundraising for Obama....Anna Wintour

THIS ARTICLE  that featured the following video is worth reading.... here's a little of it:

"As Anna Wintour talks about a fundraiser for the Obama campaignshe is hosting with actress Sarah Jessica Parker and first lady Michelle Obama, unemployment numbers for different groups  before and after the Obama presidency flash on the screen, including a rise in joblessness among women, Hispanics, African-Americans  and young people.
The web video ends with the line "Obama is focused on keeping his job, but what about yours?"
"There couldn't be a better demonstration of this president's misplaced priorities than a glitzy fundraising video release on the same day that marked more unemployed Americans," said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus in a statement. "It's more than obvious that this president just doesn't get it. Millions are out of work, struggling to make ends meet and all this president cares about is raising money with the rich and famous to protect his own job."

What Ms Wintour asks everyone to do is 'enter' the Obama sweepstakes.  "The Wintour ad  effort seems an easy target for Republicans, but a fundraising effort is all it is. The web video is targeted to supporters, especially an audience of young, fashion-conscious women who the Obama campaign hopes will enter the online contest on the chance of spending an evening with Wintour, Parker  and the Obamas on June 14.  It's similar to a raffle  held last month that awarded two free tickets to a George Clooney fundraising dinner at the actor's Los Angeles home."

Personally, I believe this is far less about winning an evening with the Obamas and much more about GETTING EMAIL ADDRESSES FOR THEIR CAMPAIGN.    The Obama folks have done a lot of things lately asking "send us your email address.."   Make sense to you?

"We're saving the TWO BEST SEATS IN THE HOUSE FOR YOU"...just give us your email address.
I'd have thought that whoever did win those two free tickets to the Clooney shindig would have written about it.   Odd we didn't hear anything about it.

Great...

Now we'll have to hear about the "Republican's war on fashion".

The GOP have voted against equal pay for women and most voted against the renewal of "Violence Against Women Act." Not to mention the draconian laws they passed requiring an invasive procedure before abortions.

If you're a woman and you vote GOP. You get what you deserve.

One look is all you need to know that s.j. parker is a democrat.

As far as best seat in the house, I've already got it. Good food, family, pets, and that POS obama is nowhere to be found.

Let's not forget that if you're a working woman, more than likely, you can take a lot of time off for baby making with lots of benefits and guarantees if you want to come back. Men do not get such benefits. It equals out for the majority.

Single, non-mother truly career women? Sure, equal pay is warranted.

But here's a hint kids. Life isn't fair. Write that on the blackboard about a trillion times until it sinks into your liberal pickled dust bunnies for brains skulls, then come on back and try to hold a conversation like an adult.

Every vote for women's equal pay has had pork on it...as if ANYBODY doesn't believe women deserve equal pay?
Liberalmann, sometimes you do say the oddest things and believe truly amazing things because they're feeding it to you.

Yes, all the women here hate women.
That's as logical as your side saying "you Republicans who vote for Alan West are racists"
Congrats on your logic.

Ed, thanks for the link.

Ducky....don't look now, but that was written in the Seventies and it's still not happening.
What's the connection to my post, anyway?

Kid "Good food, family, pets, and that POS obama is nowhere to be found." Sometimes, it's the simplest things that are the most wonderful, huh?
But you forgot to throw in "and emailing Z..." xxx!!

Glenn Beck was complaining about Wintour's accent today.

"It's not like she's from a foreign country".

Wintour's British.
I believe Beck is from hunger.

so what's the connection to my post?

The Anna Wintour Revolution?
Obama's Revolution of asking the poor for the last $3 they have?
What?

Bob :-)

Lisa...fry some bacon, take the bacon out when it's crispy, leave a little bacon fat in the pan, throw shredded sprouts in and sautee them with a little vinegar ...when they're nice and soft, take them out and sprinkle the crispy bacon crumbles over them, some S&P...DELICIOUS but something you don't want to eat a lot!

Ducky, a lot of Americans can't take accents and don't understand them. Apparently, he thinks she's an American so her accent was supposed to leave her with the first Pledge of Allegiance when she became a citizen.
I hope I don't offend anybody here because I don't remember who it was, but someone actually criticized Giada DeLaurentis for pronouncing Parmesan cheese like an Italian. Which she is and which she speaks. It's very difficult to suddenly say it the Americanized way. it's silly, but people aren't open minded about those things sometimes. They don't understand.

Beck is right when he says Obama's supposedly the MAN OF THE PEOPLE, then he has Clooney, Parker and WIntour speak for him and raise money. silly, really.
Lisa, right on, kiddo! by the way, I even oven roast broccoli and cauliflower that's put cut up fairly small ...tossed with Olive Oil, etc...mmm roasting them is so much easier than other things to do with veggies.

"If you're a woman and you vote GOP. You get what you deserve."

I hope so Libman. It's about time don't you think? Being a woman I'd like the Govt. to stay out of our way. We deserve that!

My daughter did very well before she retired. You know why? Because she has a great work ethic, that's why. The Govt. had nothing whatsoever to do with it!

So, save it for the dingbat lefties who just don't "get it"! Yourself included.

MMMM those Brussel Sprouts sound awesome Z.I think I would like that. Or maybe to lessen the fat crumble up the bacon and toss it in with the sprouts while they are roasting in the oven. I usually just do the olive oil with course salt and pepper.
What else is good is sauteed sprouts in butter and then add cut up apple and sautee a little more.
the flavors really compliment each other.

Z said...

Lisa...apple and sprouts, now THAT is weird and I'll bet it's good. I have to try that.
I think you make a really good point about just skipping the sauteeing in bacon fat, but I'm telling you IT IS DELICIOUS. A dash or two of red wine vinegar is SO good in it, too, and I wouldn't do that would the grease because the combo of the grease cut by the vin. is what's so good.

small chunks of apple, brussel sprouts and crumbled apple....why not?

Pris, well said. I guess if liberal women weren't taking LESBIAN STUDIES or GREEN STUDIES in college, they wouldn't need someone helping them out, either, huh? :-)
