I have never seen a more honest cartoon.
Prophetic?
Maybe.
But more than anything, it just goes to show that the more things change, the more they stay the same.
The thing that most confounds me is the number of people who cannot ascertain sound judgments from history. I mean, there has never been any economy that can sustain itself, by spending its way out of a recession and/or deficit spending. Neither has there ever been a successful communist system.
Nice find Z. My only caution would be that this cartoon from 1930-something would lull folks into a sense of complacency thinking, "oh, no big deal then", when in reality, the degree is so much more severe today. That cart has travelled down the socialist road quite a ways since then.

Weimar republic all over again. Especially when the Fed buys bonds by printing money. Can you imagine paying your credit card debt using another credit card? Wait some people already do it.
