"Racist Debate" on HEALTHCARE?

AP STORY TODAY:

WASHINGTON – A swastika was found Tuesday painted on a sign outside Rep. David Scott's district office, an act the Georgia Democrat said reflects an increasingly hateful and racist debate over health care and should serve as a reminder for people to tone down their rhetoric.

Scott's staff arrived at his Smyrna, Ga., office Tuesday morning to find the Nazi graffiti emblazoned on a sign bearing the lawmaker's name. The vandalism occurred roughly a week after Scott was involved in a contentious argument over health care at a community meeting.

Scott, who is black, said he also has received mail in recent days that used N-word references to him, and that characterized President Barack Obama as a Marxist.

"We have got to make sure that the symbol of the swastika does not win, that the racial hatred that's bubbling up does not win this debate," Scott said in a telephone interview. "There's so much hatred out there for President (Barack) Obama."

Who has made this a "racist debate"? "Hatred for President Obama"? Ya, sure, there's probably hatred. Gee, what about the intense hatred for President Bush there still is? How about the slams on his Christian faith? Was that a "religious debate"? Who's made this "racist"? Anybody seen anything like that anywhere? We can't disagree with Obama now without being RACIST?

Anybody who painted that swastika on the sign is DEAD WRONG to have done so. Pelosi was REAL wrong for having mentioned swastikas at townhall meetings because they weren't there except with a line through it....AGAINST what swastikas stand for. Odd, I was thinking that anybody could have sprayed that rotten swastika on Rep. Scott's sign. It would sure make people look bad, you know?

That was probably painted on that sign by a democrat... Just like the democrat plants that show up with swastikas at the town hall meetings.

I just heard Obama say from my tv in the other room, "I hope we talk with each other and not over each other." That couldn't have been Obama, cuz I know he said he didn't want his opponents to "do a lot of talkin'." Our president is a clueless joke.

The guy who did this is more than an idiot.

First it doesn't mean it's racist. (Another symbol would have been painted, like a noose)

Second, we don't know who did it.

I hope they find the culprit.

Then we'll be able to judge.

The Swastika was a symbol of Russian socialism that appeared Russian currency after the Communists took over, and decades before German labor activist Adolf Hitler rallied his fellow leftists around it.

Seems to me a Swastika painted on a Democrat's sign is a family squabble, not national news.

31E - INTERNMENT / RESETTLEMENT SPECIALIST
--------------

The following is a completely fictional dialogue in a fictional meeting from a fictional character.
Any resemblance to real life is completely coincidental.

As you all know, gun sales are through the roof, and there is no way we can just march into the streets and take over. What we need is a generated crisis. We need to make those that are buying the guns look like radical racists.

First, we need to gain control. A way to keep people in their homes. The threat of a deadly disease should suffice for many, but for others, they need more reason. For those, we will make sure the supply chain is severely disrupted. If the stores are empty, they have even less reason to leave the home.

And for the few who still desire to venture out, we will have to make sure the streets simply aren’t safe.

Instead of putting boots on the ground at this point, we can steer them toward racism and hatred toward one another. We can accuse the right wing of carrying swastikas into the town hall meetings.

We can then accuse the right of being paid protestors. A minority who are only there for the money.

After that, We will announce that the only reason these people don’t want this health bill to pass is because it came from a “black man”. That should get things started.

But to get the proper mind set, we will need to infiltrate common vocabulary. We don’t want the fact that this is socialism to continue to spread, so we need to change the meaning of the word. What we will do is say that “socialism” is a code word for “the N-word”.

It won’t be long before Americans are divided, and killing each other off. We won’t even have to lift a finger.

While they are busy fighting amongst themselves, we can position ourselves around the country as needed. We have all new NG recruits who are all under 35 years of age to control the internment camps. We made sure in the ads to keep them under 35 obviously because anyone older would never go along with this.

We can now make sure the economy comes to a full grinding halt, and they will be completely dependent on us.

The bible thumpers are looking for a mark linked directly to buying and selling. We will simply take an indirect route here. Instead of being directly related to buying and selling, we will be mandating the new vaccines. Once they have received the final in the series of vaccines, they will receive their “mark” (of course we will call it something else). With this “mark”, they will be allotted a certain amount by the government each week for food.
Those that refuse the vaccines will not be able to get food anywhere else at this point. The supply chains have been so severely disrupted, and we now control the distribution.

We can at this point offer bonus foods for turning in those who are “a danger to society” and have not received their vaccines. People will do almost anything when they are hungry; But they will do anything when their children are hungry.

The next phase --- the restructuring of leadership. And this is where things really start to get ugly….

Dude probably painted it on himself last night after reporting constituents to flag-at-whitehouse-dot-gov.....

From WiKi:
Archaeological evidence of swastika-shaped ornaments dates from the Neolithic period. It occurs mainly in the modern day culture of India, sometimes as a geometrical motif and sometimes as a religious symbol. It remains widely used in Eastern religions / Dharmic religion such as Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism.

Oh, crap, I'm being racist again by disproving Leftist crap with the Truth....

First of all I do not condone the graffiti, it is very wrong. Defacing public property is not a good way to get a point across.

This healthcare reform has nothing to do with race.

It is about the rights of the people, especially the elderly and pre-born.

The people are completely fed up with BHO's agenda for a socialist nation and all the smooth-talking in the world is not going to convince people to allow him to do that.

The GOP has nothing to do with what is occurring across the nation in the town hall meetings. The constituents have a right to tell their representatives that enough is enough.

Jess said...

It's too bad we have idiots trying to tie together hate with dissent. Shame on them.

The ignorant bastards who painted the swastika did not do it with the health care reform in mind. They did it because they are ignorant pieces of dog squeeze who hate everyone who does not think like them. They are using this recent campaign of dissent to help carry their message.

The people who are against the health care reform plan are decent hardworking Americans, for the most part, who have finally reached the pinnacle of frustration in regards to overbearing government intruding upon their lives.

Very big difference indeed.

We're in a battle folks, we can expect dirty tricks. The people calling us names are politicians. I think they're making a mistake. The "us" they're calling names are not just conservatives.

If there are democrats across America who feel strongly in favor of government healthcare, where are they at these town hall meetings?

We know there are democrats who are against it because they're at the meetings too.

Why did the Chicago crew have to send out their thugs, if they have everyday supporters who are crying for government healthcare? Hmmmm?

I think we have to quit fretting about our image. Our image is just fine. We have reason to be angry.

We've been ignored, insulted, dismissed, told to shut up and generally expected to just be good and take it. Like we always have, and where did that get us? Right where we are today.

The occasional loons are few and far between. If they show up, it just proves it's not organized by some group.

I'm proud of the town hall attendees. They come with their American flags, homemade signs and best of all, are not cowed by anyone. People at home are seeing and hearing all this, and they know what's going on.

The left has changed the discussion haven't they. We're talking about the demeanor and actions of the crowd, instead of the issue at hand. I think it's a mistake to fall into that trap.

Let's keep our eyes on the prize, and cheer for our American citizens who put themselves on the line for America.

I say, it's about time. No one said it would be easy.

Pris, did you EVER think this would happen HERE? It started when Obama and his thugs bashed Joe the Plumber; we saw a candidate at the time insulting a whole group of Americans who didn't agree with him. Then he was elected and hired the bigwig CNN/CBS producers to work WITHIN the WH, and they're off to the races with the nastiest little piece of work for a press agent..Gibbs, who's so disdainful and sarcastic that I can barely look at the guy (plus, he's ugly, but I'm too nice to mention that :-)

I couldn't resist....

People are getting angrier and Obama's thugs are sharpening their teeth..and politicians are running scared.
They'll get uglier toward us before whatever happens next...which scares me a bit.

I saw that video clip. A man started shouting that he hadn't been allowed to speak although he had called before the meeting and specifically asked if he would be able to. Apparently they hand out cards to only a certain number they permitted to speak and he accused them of manipulating things, although I don't remember his exact words. I embedded it on my blog too, but guess what, after a very short time, while I was still writing the post, it got pulled, and not only that but a couple paragraphs I'd written after it describing the man's attempt to be allowed to speak and the atmosphere of oppression that greeted him simply would not post. I tried every way to get it to post and it wouldn't. Specter acquitted himself well, described it as democracy in action, though one might be excused for suspecting his motives, BUT the guy felt he had to leave anyway.

What with strange things happening with my email since I started forwarding information about this healthcare mess, and my email is still behaving somewhat strangely, having this CNN video pulled has me definitely suspicious that this is the crackdown starting.

beamish said...

I saw the Specter town hall meeting. I can't say Pennsylvanians are well served by this relentlessly simpering moron.

I did hear an echo of myself from someone in the crowd after Specter rambled into "I'm not paid to be here, I didn't have to come" territory. Someone yelled "You serve US. You report to US."

Pretty much the same all over, from what I've seen from various town hall meetings. If Congress thinks Americans are pissed now, wait 'til they see what happens when they pass Obamacare over their objections.

Obama is going to get Democrats out of power in Congress harder, faster, and better than a Clinton ever could.

Hopefully with a peaceful election, but at this point, I don't care if they don't.

Please z, that's being just a bit jejune. The Nazi iconography that was struck through was a reference to Obama and the administration. It was an equating of the administration with the swastika.

Now if the right wants to resort to that kind of discourse, fine but we have a health insurance issue. Health costs are going to be 30% of the GNP in several years if we don't act. That will put tremendous strain on municipal budgets, cause employers to drop or reduce coverage and put our hospitals in a deep financial hole.
It ain't pretty. But what are we reduced to? At the Portsmouth town meeting President Empty Suit is up there talking about "death councils" and the spotlight is on some gun loon outside the hall.

Big train in the tunnel, just like the housing bubble and we are in complete denial or else we are making pithy distinctions about swastikas. This is a great people? Please, we are acting like children.

Elmers Brother said...

Elmers Brother said...

under Medicare the cost per beneficiary is more than private insurance so one would assume it would get worse under a government run healthcare

LASunsett said...

At this point, who knows who painted it?

On one hand we have an out of control media, covering an out of control government, portraying everyone that disagrees with things that are being done, as NAZIS. On the other hand, we remember a media that covered the anti-Bush protesters adoringly, and how they portrayed them as legitimate citizen dissenters.

Political espionage and counterespionage are both so complex, these days. Remember the black firefighter from Baltimore who placed a noose inside a firehouse?

Well I guess nooses are out of fashion now. And those who used swastikas to communicate an opposition to the policies of GWB may now use them to implicate those who oppose anything Obama.

Ducky doesn't take this into consideration in his argument and neither do many other naive people who buy into misrepresentations, which are presented to them as facts..

Ducky's here said...

That's touching, LA.

These punks even embarrass the right. Maybe there's hope.

Still this is at a pitch that is much higher than the shrillness during Clinton's administration. We have "on the road with Orly Taitz and the birthers" substituting for "who killed Vince Foster" and all but Clinton's administration was relatively prosperous, until the first Greenspan bubble broke, of course.

But now we have an unemployment rate that won't be significantly lowered for years, at least without a growth rate that gets the inflation humming.
We have a nasty fall in commercial real estate coming.
People are going to be losing unemployment and health care ... it's a much nastier economic environment and one that cannot be repaired quickly.

You can pretend that the swastikas aren't a manifestation of the true national mood ... whistle past the graveyard all you like. The country is going under if we continue to be this divided.

Z said...

Ducky, you are probably the only one who wouldn't see a problem with so much government regulation, getting into our bank accounts, visiting our elderly, etc...so you're hardly the one to comment here on what Americans are "reduced to", are you.
We see those things are problematic.

And, yes, of course the swastika was for Obama; many people do feel this much gov't intrusion rates reminiscence to a much uglier time. I hope it STAYS the much uglier time ... and in Germany.
Pelosi was still wrong. SHE's the one who was a bit jejune, obviously.

Ducky, you say
"These punks even embarrass the right. Maybe there's hope."
Extremists on the right no more speak for me than the Chicago thugs in the White House speak for you, I'd have thought?

Since it would be as absurd of me to ask you or any leftist to present an intellectual defense of "Obamacare" as it would be if I demanded a violin lesson from a parking meter, let me give you something to contemplate (that's in the "C" section of the dictionary):

Love the American health care industry as it is, or leave it.

G-Man said...

"The country is going under if we continue to be this divided."

If a thing is so fundamentally altered such that it no longer resembles that which it once was, is that not the same as "going under"?

Beyond that, it is not we who have departed from the quintessential "American way". I spent my years serving in the military protecting us from socialists & communists and now we have a president that appoints communists to his personal staff and plots to swerve this country into the socialist mainstream.

So tell me Ducky, if you and people like you weren't trying to destroy the country what danger would there be of it "going under"? It is your party's actions that have evoked our efforts to defend our country and that is what divides us, the desire to preserve that which is American.

So the answer to your dilemma is simple... You and your buddies just stop being dorks.

Anonymous said...

"He's the prez, Elmo."

Yes Ducky, he is. So since when does a President unleash union thugs to intimidate his detractors?

And, since when does a President have a snitch blog, and you can spare me the denials please.

You yourself told us they're training people to counter the protests. Who are "they" Ducky?

Now I ask you if the American people support this government takeover, besides ACORN and union thugs, where are they?

Who's ratcheting this up, if not the White House and the dems in congress?

If Obama doesn't want this confrontation he can stop it, and let the people speak. We don't want what he's selling.

We are seeing them running scared and using every tactic they can manufacture to discredit us and what we stand for.
I can only imagine what the outcome of this blatant attempt to take over will be, but this ole granny is going down fighting.
I am old enough to remember Kruschev tell us that they would never attack us from without, but would conquer us from within. Was that prophetic?

Guess that is not original, but I think is is as appropriate today as then.
