So.......would that be a dilemma for you? Would you shake his hand, this man who is president of these great United States of America, if you were suddenly confronted with that situation?
Just curious.............oh, this struck me as appropriate..I don't know.......
"[O]f those men who have overturned the liberties of republics, the greatest number have begun their career by paying an obsequious court to the people; commencing demagogues, and ending tyrants." --Alexander Hamilton, Federalist No. 1

I'd almost made it to the town square when I saw old Miss Watson in her garden picking her favorite lavender roses. "They look beautiful, Miss Watson, how are they smelling?" "Oh, just like every year, Z....remember these won me the award 3 years ago!" She looked flushed but happy standing there in the roses, her sun cap on, the cottage behind her laden with white roses just about on their way out, drooping a little. Red apples would be so heavy they'd about bring the tree by her door down in a month or so and I couldn't wait for her invitation to "take home as many as you can, Z! Your mother's pie is the best!" Miss Watson had taught me English at the High School and I always worried that I'd dangle a participle in her face and that she'd give me that look. As I walked past her cottage, I heard her say "Oh, I hope it's from my sister!" and I turned back. John Cox, our mail man had given her a letter. I thought about Miss Watson living alone and finding a letter such a comfort, she felt wanted, she was important! She'd touch the paper's embossment later and breathe in whatever of her sister she could though she lived so far away.
"Your mother has a letter that looks kind of special there, Z, you want to take it with you or just let me drop it on by?" "Please drop it by, Mr. Cox, I'm going into town; thanks so much!" I continued walking down the shady street, Elms drooping over me like a green leafed tunnel, sun shining brighter at the end of the street, on the Square ahead of me, where the trees were less dense.
I must admit it brought a smile to my face to see old Pastor Thomas sitting with his afternoon snack next to Rabbi Samuels on the church steps. Arguing Jesus again, I supposed, but they argued with such facts and figures and such fun. I wished I had the time to go by and listen as I'd done so many times before. Pretty soon they'd stop eating, stop arguing and laughing, and play some chess. Pastor Thomas claimed he never got to win because there were more Christians in town and he got called away mid-game more often than the good Rabbi. We'd all just smile because everyone knew Rabbi S was better at chess and Pastor Tom relied on those interruptions by which he could keep his reputation. (Oh, Miss Watson would have loved the structure of that sentence, I thought! I thought also of all I owed her, she'd shown me so much in literature, had made me well spoken when I concentrated and even when I didn't...I couldn't say "me and my sister" or "orientated" if I tried...she'd introduced me to Jane Eyre and Rebecca, how could I have not loved her? I felt I wanted to rush back and hug and kiss her but figured I'd gone too far by now and she'd probably gone back into her cottage by now with that rose for some water and a cup of tea).
The Square was busier than usual this afternoon. Maybe the slightly cooler weather had brought people out. I passed the newspaper office and poked my head in to see if Mr. McGee was there. Sure enough, there he was, scribbling at his desk. He looked up with a smile, happy for the break.."Hey, Z, how're you doing there, girl?" "Pretty good, Mr. M, I love this cooler weather, don't you?" "Sure do!" "Mr. McGee, what's in the news tonight?" "Oh, not too much today, tell you the truth......the president's got a new bill he wants to push in Congress, you'll read it tonight in the evening edition if I can just get that George to get the air on his bike's tire pumped now so he has time to get them out by 6!" Politics, something I loved...I had to ask "What kind of bill? What do you think about it?"
"Oh, it's a bill you'll just have to read about if your Dad'll give you the paper long enough before his dinner! What do I think about it? Z, you know better than that.....I'll never tell, my job is to tell you the news, not tell you my opinion of the news! No self-respecting journalist would think of doing anything else!" I said goodbye and thought about how many times over the years that Mr. McGee had reminded me that it was up to him to get Americans the news and up to Americans to figure it all "the heck out themselves" as he put it. We all liked that about Mr. McGee. His son was off to some Journalism school in the East and they could be heard arguing about the news when John was home for visits. I often wondered about the arguing. I also wondered if John McGee had himself a girlfriend on that East Coast.
Mr. McGee seemed to treat the news like mail....nobody ought to open it but the one receiving it, and the deliverer oughtn't be adding anything that the sender hadn't meant to add, you know? There was talk about television having more news on some day soon, other than the news at five, film at 11 stuff we were all so used to here in town. Dad and I often talked about the pros hearing the news is quite enough, Z," dad often said..."...we don't need to be getting into so much of others' opinions that the truth's starting to hide in it, you know, even maybe disappear? It's overkill what they might try to do, Z, it can't be long before they've got too much time to fill on the television and they'll be making things up to fill it!" We'd watch Father Knows Best some nights and I'd smile and feel happy that there were people like us elsewhere in the country, smart people who cared about their kids and their futures and I wondered if Jim Anderson, too, thought too much news was just that, too much news.
The sun was getting brighter as it was going down closer to the tops of the Church steeples and the First Village Bank's high roof...the trees in front were glaring with the rays of the sun sneaking through their branches and caused me to squint. I stepped down the curb to cross the street and Officer Huff called "Z, you be careful, you know some of these kids drive a little too fast and it's kind of hard to see at this time of day with that bright sun comin' down!" Officer Huff had yelled things like that to me since I was about 4 and Mom had let me run for some bread at the bakery all by myself. "Officer Huff, I'm sorry!" But, by that time, he too had heard way too loud a "Rock Around the Clock" coming from Billy Jones' big old Buick convertible's radio and was screaming "Billy, turn your music down or I'll tell your dad!" Billy managed to look perturbed through his smile of affection for Officer Huff and turned the music down, waving to me with the other hand, and then turned the corner to his old brick house with the white trim I always admired, especially when his mom's red roses were in full bloom.
I finally reached Miss Flynn's Women's Apparel, grateful that my taking my time to get here hadn't meant she'd closed her doors for the night. "Z, I have that dress your mother wanted right here..it just arrived! She's so excited about getting it I had a feeling she'd send you by tonight! I hope she likes it! You know, it's made special in Italy, took a while to get here!" The box was wrapped beautifully, carefully, with fancy Italian stamps. It was fun for Miss Flynn to sell something not made in America, I guess! Mom had been excited to know she could get a dress all the way from Europe. I thought of the new advertisements and that catchy tune we were all hearing so much lately "Look for the union label, when you are buying that coat, dress or blouse......it says we're able to make it in the U.S.A." It was nice to think of people working here on products for us, supporting their families through us....plenty of jobs here, Dad said so often, I hope it stays that way.......sometimes, those unions demand too much, he'd say, and then where will American manufacturers be? I took the box thinking of about that, wondering if there could be a time when we Americans wouldn't want something made in America and why? I picked up a few more things for Mom in the Square and I picked up the book at the library I'd been dying to read had finally come in. I guess it took Melanie so long to read it because her Mama had had to go to work at the factory and Melanie had to mind her 3 younger brothers all day now. Things hadn't been the same at Melanie's for a long time and I worried about her, she'd changed so much since her Dad had left the family. She was short with me and I'd hear her spank her brother Charlie too hard sometimes. You could hear him screaming through the windows.
I walked home glad for my house where Mom would be finishing the roast and Dad would be home soon and get his paper if George had finally filled his bike tire, that is. I could smell the meat cooking and see Sally doing her homework at the dining table .."Sal, you know it's almost dinner time.........time to clear that stuff off and set the table, young woman!" Mom came out and tickled Sally's ribs to make her laugh.
It would be another nice evening here at home. Mom was thrilled with her dress, it fit perfectly, we heard about the presidential bill on TV and we read it in the paper which George had finally delivered, and it would be time to go to bed soon and dream about this country I loved so much, this America where you still felt like clickety-clicking a white picket fence with a stick even when things weren't going too well because that sound reminded you of your childhood days and you knew you were safe and all would be fine in the end, anyway.
Gentle, good words like those above get forgotten in the fast-paced, angry, and passionate world of politics we deal with here at the blogs.........but, we mustn't forget them. We wish you a blessed Sunday that's full of those wonderful, uplifting words ......Mr and Mrs Z

UPDATE: I just saw G-Man's blog...click HERE. He makes the excellent point that leftwingers said they supported our troops but not Bush's war while Bush was president. Why aren't they out there supporting troops now that it's Obama's war and we're losing more than usual of our precious soldiers in Afghanistan, asks G-Man much more eloquently than I just did. Here's MY addition to this situation: Remember when we all heard Cindy Sheehan was definitely going to Martha's Vineyard to protest like she did at Crawford, TX with Bush? Let me know if you find anything... I can't. She must have been 'dissuaded', huh? WOW. This WH is very powerful, folks.....
Much as it pains me to say this, I have to admit it-my Democrat friends were right. They told me if I voted for McCain, the nation's hope would deteriorate, and sure enough there has been a 20 point drop in the Consumer Confidence Index since the election, reaching a lower point than any time during the Bush administration.
They told me if I voted for McCain, the US would become more deeply embroiled in the
Middle East, and now, tens of thousands of additional troops are scheduled to be deployed into
My Democrat Party friends told me if I voted for McCain, that the economy would get worse
and sure enough unemployment is approaching 10 % and the new stimulus packages implemented recently have sent the stock market lower than at any time since the Islamic Terrorists attacks of 9-11..
They told me if I voted for McCain, we would see more "crooks" in high ranking positions in
Federal government and sure enough, several recent cabinet nominees and Senate appointments revealed resumes of scandal, bribery and tax fraud.
They told me if I voted for McCain, we would see more "Pork at the trough" in Federal
government and sure enough, 17,500 "Pork Bills" showed up in Congress since January 2009.....
I was also told by my Democrat friends that if I voted for McCain, we would see more deficit
spending in Washington D..C. , and sure enough, there has been more spending in just 180 days
than all other Presidents together - in the entire history of the good ole USA ....Well I voted for McCain in November and my Democrat friends were right... All of their predictions have come true!
(And I can't even begin to guess how much of this is Sarah Palin's fault!)
By the way...those aren't Republicans burning the great American flag.

Thanks to my friend, H, who directed me to this video on Breitbart.com. The Congresswoman loves Castro, she hates the rich. She's a Democrat who says things in this video they should all be ashamed of; think they will? WOW.

I'm just sayin'.........read about it HERE. How DO we get information anymore if we can't DO something to GET IT? Got any ideas for the CIA? ....IF they're even allowed to talk to terrorists anymore after Holder gets through with them?
And I so understand Senator Dodd's grief, but I thought THIS HERE was a bit self-serving...don't you? I mean, the man's behind in his polls and now he wants to continue his dear friend's life work? "So vote for me?"
Anyway, I thought that legacy was decided, since Chris Matthews has now designated Obama as the 'last Kennedy brother'?? (are you ready for THAT?:-) Well, they DO kind of look like brothers, don't they? What are your thoughts?
"OH, they're SO nice that they didn't fire back, let's stop firing at THEM, too, okay!? Then the whole world will be peaceful...."
"Good, let's try again..they're too crippled by their own leftwing to have the guts to do anything to us"
Ya, you tell ME what the world's thinking after you read THIS ARTICLE. Perhaps I'm drawing more from this little incident than I might...but I hate to think how many of OUR NAVY would have been killed if the Somali "large caliber weapon" HAD hit. You see, they in Somalia or elsewhere, have no brakes; there IS no one holding them to any rules of engagement. But US?...if we do anything wrong, don't worry, the New York Times will be there castigating US. The Somalis? Not so much.
See the photograph? Man, how COULD AMERICA stop THOSE TOUGH GUYS, RIGHT? (heh)
geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeZ (Please give Mr. Z your birthday wishes on the post below..or here! He's enjoying this and I'm only SLIGHTLY embarrassed of my solicitation!:-) And somebody tell Mustang the Porsche is STILL not here and we're leaving soon :-(
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MR Z! I thought I'd honor you with a reprint of some of your wonderful photos! Thanks for making GeeeeZ a better blog with them! And thanks for your posts, "Mr. Z's Opinion"........ I know the geeeeZ gang joins me in wishing you ALL the best, right, guys?

Before you read the post below, though....I must tell you Ducky had commented in the short while this was up about Dan Tarkanian's father, Jerry, the big-winning basketball coach...the comment 's there now; please check it out.....after reading it, I had to wonder how many times Ducky voted for Ted Kennedy, who was so 'tired' he had to go to bed instead of going to the police for Mary Jo Kopechne? OH, the irony... But, I digress.......
Here's my original post:
$10 for TARK........Please contribute at least $10 to Danny Tarkanian of Nevada...he's running for the senate against Mr. Harry Reid (now, now, read this post and THEN run to your checkbook!) Hugh Hewitt's site, HERE, has the information you'll need through which you can contribute.
HERE's a good piece on Mr. Tarkanian.......Then hear an introduction video about him HERE. In this video, he tells about his family, his career, and why he wants to run for senate. I think you'll like him. Of course, people ask Hewitt "Why Tarkanian?" and Hewitt says "He's not Reid..." Which, in itself is good enough, but, I think Tarkanian has a lot more than that (and so does Hugh, of course!) Oh, and the man's Armenian.........does that influence me? HECK YES! :-) But, mostly, he's a conservative Republican and we need him in Washington. And we need him yesterday.
If you've got an extra ten bucks, please donate, it's a secure site and easy to do...just $10. For America's future....one by one, we need to replace the Democrats with Republicans. Start now! This is REAL Grass Roots, folks...let's get it going! Thanks so much.

A Short History of Sports
A not so politically correct and not so serious guide through the sports movement
In the earlier days of humankind, humans did what the animals still do today: fight each other. The change came when in 490 BC when Pheidippides ran 42 km from Marathon to
So they started to celebrate regular sports games in
Things changed after the Greeks invented centrifugal force. They used this knowledge to introduce hammer throwing. When turning around rather quickly, these centrifugal forces had their effect not only on the hammer, but also on "items" much (much)closer to the body. This led to the invention of trunks, and, over time, to many more inventions covering the body for special purposes – but that's another conversation!
After a good start, people started to fight each other again, and the sports movement temporarily died. To be more precise, it was pretty much dead until the end of the 19th century AD. Since the French Revolution had rendered nobility useless (at least in
This sparked a completely new development in sports, and moved it from an activity which happened basically outside of society to one of the center points of society. People started to recognize that sports activities are not only good for the body but can also achieve societal and political goals. On one hand, it helped recognition of the existence and capabilities of minority groups
It was during this time that sports was discovered as a means of political will. That had good sides, and bad sides. The old Romans said already “Mens
But before we analyze that statement further, we need to recognize that there are indeed two sports movements: One which develops publicly right in front of our eyes, and the other much larger one which is extremely widespread and healthy for young and older people alike: sports in the private sphere, in the many, many schools, clubs and, yes, streets, supported by enthusiastic parents and friends and volunteer coaches. These are the true heroes, following the Olympic traditions of the Greek, using the body as it was created by God (the only difference being that the Greeks thought that were several gods…..) and eating and drinking what is provided to us, and doing all of this with the mentality that the most important issue is participation – but still being happy if they win a price in a healthy competition.
Now we arrive at the ugly side of sports. The aspect of sport which is exposed in public, where the most important thing is not participation, but winning – the latter only because if you win, you get money, and recognition, and thus, more money. Everything in public sports today is subjugated to money. And since that is so, it destroys everything which was once good – and since the end justifies the means, everything appears to be allowed. This can be divided into two categories: the equipment, and nutrition/medication. Gone are the days when competition meant that everybody has the same chance...the level playing field.
In terms of equipment, the newest example relates to the swimsuits of swimmers. For the recent World Championships in swimming, some of the equipment suppliers developed a new fabric and a new full-body shape (which took the athletes a good half hour to get into), resulting in some sort of floating on the water, and thus, several dozen (!!) new world records. Under pressure, the corresponding association, to their credit, acted, and the new fabrics are not allowed any longer as of beginning of 2010. But they have also not said what is allowed. Generally, the days that everybody could afford to do sports are gone – except if you join a sports club, or just simply play soccer on the streets of Sao Paolo or
Here is the even much bigger problem: Nutrition/medication, aka doping. These days, doping has become a hi-tech industry which operates in Mafia-like manner. It is operated underground, in the obscurity of hotel rooms, labs in obscure and less obscure countries, involving obscure or less obscure doctors – and that is the frightening part of it. Sophisticated labs are involved, and the newest achievements of blood doping are years ahead of any method of detection.
A lot of money is flowing under the table and that money needs to be earned. In other words, it would not be possible, if huge amounts weren't at stake for wins in certain competitions. So, there are the interests of the individuals and their advisors (middlemen). But to make things more complicated, the interests of whole countries are at stake. How could the following situation have possibly develop?: The medal ranking of the countries participating in the Track & Field World Championships currently happening in Berlin/Germany was the following on 8/20/2009: 1.
Numerous incidents in any sports known to man, even in disciplines where one would never suspect any doping, such as shooting, lead us to believe that the “time of innocence” is over. The Tour de France has become the “Tour de Farce”, everybody knows that. The big sports in the
The unfortunate persons caught in the middle are those who play by the rules, participating in sports because they love it, work very hard, and still don’t make it because their colleagues are cheating, or those athletes who participate in some obscure, but very challenging, types of sport, who never make it into the limelight because the media are only supporting those sports where there is something in it for them (money from advertisers).
Here is what I think: We need to try to turn the clock back, back to the times of the old Greeks or the first part of the 20th century. This would involve no more prize money for “real sport”, and fair competition under the same conditions for all athletes.
But this is not all: To demonstrate how complex this whole matter has become, let’s finish the sports outlook with the very sad story of this young lady (if you can call her that) who won the gold medal for running 800 m in Berlin in a fabulous time. It turns out that she might possess Y chromosomes and that she is somewhere between man and woman (see picture), but should certainly not have run as a woman. The primary guilt for her entry as a woman lies with the South African T&F Association – they should not have brought her forward since the problem was known, but instead now they are crying foul and claiming racism. The poor woman, by the way, is upset that she was even asked to run and then had this happen; she wants to go home where she's loved as a daughter and forget all of this. The idea of running men as women is not new. During the old communist times, many athletes from the Warsaw Pact states were physically men, but the states had them appear in the women category. That is what I mean when talking about using sports for political purposes, very often on the back of the athletes. This is what has become of this wonderful Olympic idea created by the Greeks. Fortunately, the original higher ideals are still followed by millions of people worldwide who do what is right and play by the rules, quietly and without money. With doping and commercialism and all else I've discussed here, it's sad to say that those higher ideals seem to no longer exist in professional competitive sports.
This illustration says it all....a Samoan woman competing at the Berlin Track and Field event which just took place, heavy and seemingly unfit but TRYING HER BEST, no dope, no nothing but her training and grit. That's the true nature of sports, right? Or should be?
Majority of Americans Believe Health Care Reform 'Myths'You see, nobody in the White House or elsewhere can take the time to dispel these "myths" with any certitude, authority, or proof, but they're still MYTHS! I keep asking WHY CAN'T THEY TAKE SOME TELEVISION TIME AND HAVE A GIVE/TAKE ON EACH ISSUE? LET THE RIGHT EXPLAIN AND EXTRAPOLATE AND SHOW THAT THIS BILL IS THE PROBLEM WE THINK IT IS? NOT doing that shows ME something, how about you?
Obama, in fact, admits to not having read the bill (Specter even denies there IS a bill, remember?) but he has 5 books on his vacation (where, Yahoo says, "he's polishing his mind and body") and ONE has "TWO THOUSAND PAGES!!" as Gloria Borcher raved about on CNN the other day. WHAT A GENIUS.......a 2000 page book and our president can handle it! (But he can't read the bill that's 1000 pages).
And, the funniest part is this: "Fewer participants believe "myths" regarding the impact of proposed changes on current health insurance coverage. For instance, less than 30 percent think private insurance coverage will be eliminated. And just 36 percent think a public insurance option will put private insurance companies out of business. "
The one thing we CAN depend on is no private health care insurance available in a few years...that's a given...but that's the 'myth' Americans DON'T buy into? Time for a television debate...rational, reasonable..bring YOUR facts, we'll bring OURS. Until they do that, there are no "MYTHS"....just misinformation and insults to those who aren't buying it. Then there are things like AARP saying they're against the bill but doing a television blitz of advertisements FOR it. WHAT? (by the way, that is one very clever, excellently done ad, I must admit...especially for a bunch denying they're FOR this bill!!)
HERE is an article about the advertising problem this whole thing engendered. And here's a quote from the article: "The Clorox Co., a former Beck advertiser, now says that "we do not want to be associated with inflammatory speech used by either liberal or conservative talk show hosts." The maker of bleach and household cleaners said in a statement that it has decided not to advertise on political talk shows. The new Fairness Doctrine for TV?
You'll LOVE this bit: "ColorofChange.org quickly targeted companies whose ads had appeared during Beck's show, telling them what he had said and seeking a commitment to drop him. The goal is to make Beck a liability, said James Rucker, the organization's executive director.
"They have a toxic asset," Rucker said. "They can either clean it up or get rid of it."
Have they ever watched KEITH OLBERMANN?!! Are they kidding here? Glenn's 'toxic' and Olbermann's acceptable!?
Then there's this!! : "UPS' Hallabran said the decision to pull commercials 'should not be interpreted as we are permanently withdrawing our advertising from Fox.' He said the company wants to reach viewers with a wide spectrum of opinions." Like Olbermann and O'Donnell and Maddow, RIGHT? :-)
I'm conflicted, tell you the truth, about Beck's statement.......Honestly, I am. Do you think it was wrong for him to have said it? And, should the advertisers leave in droves? Do you think it's their decision or is there something about their departure that seems odd to you?

- Let's think about this. The Obama Administration and the Democrats in Congress have been in a projectile sweat about whether Karl Rove had any influence over the hiring or firing of U.S. Attorneys; the thinking being, if he was in the White House he was always acting and thinking politically.
- Yet, the Obama White House believes that giving the White House direct control over CIA interrogations will somehow make them more acceptable to the ACLU and the same Democrats in Congress.
- Bush White House interfering: Bad. Obama White House interfering: Good. What am I missing? (Z: And THE ANSWER IS: HYPOCRISY)
I'm sure CIA members are sleeping better tonight; maybe just as well as many of us Americans when we heard Eric Holder is intent on hearings (in public) on this subject. Who would join the CIA these days? Anybody? Meanwhile, terrorists in this country are recruiting as I type. Super scenario. Thanks, Mr. Holder. And, thanks, America; We have a president who thinks transparency in our spy organizations is a healthy thing. It is, but not for us.
Let me know what you think.
UDATE: Guess what one CIA Officer is saying in THIS article: ""Ten years from now we're going to be sorry we're doing this (but) it has to be done," one unidentified CIA officer said in the report, predicting that interrogators would someday have to appear in court to answer for such tactics." Do you wonder what he might mean by that?
If we just beheaded or bombed thousands of innocent people or opened churches or synagogues preaching murder all over Islamic countries (like mosques here and all over Europe), we'd probably have been better off..........I don't see the Holder Bunch doing anything but trying to make US look like the REALLY BAD GUYS.............

And then there's THIS STORY about our selling the B-2 stealth bomber blueprints to CHINA for $50 billion in debt relief. SNOPES denies the story very cagily again with the fact that this "isn't quite a reality yet." What's that supposed to mean? I've researched a bit, the story originally was out in June, have you heard anything more?
And, if either are true, is he kidding?
David Gregory actually held quite a fair discussion between Tavis Smiley and Joe Scarborough.
Of course, I think you and I could have done a bit better than ol' Joe, but I have to admit he was pretty darned good today. What got into David Gregory? Is he possibly suffering from "Greta Van Susteren 'I begrudingly admit the leftwingers are losing it' complex"? Naaa... not yet.
I loved this picture and found this Scripture and decided we could all use the fantasy of lying down in that beautiful Tuscany grass and remembering what's really important, don't you think? Happy Sunday, everybody.......Mr and Mrs Z

And, of course, when you read the article you can see how we could at least work toward fixing the problems we have TODAY without complete overhaul. We need to SHUT DOWN PROFIT MAKING COMPANIES~! WE NEED TO STOP BIG CORPORATIONS!! They want it ALL CHANGED, we need to be COMPLETELY dependent on this government which is "Not in the business of health care" ....WHAT?
And, talk about competition........the privates will be competing with the public, right? But, Waxman just wrote letters demanding business information from the private insurance companies....and I'm wondering if the public will have to provide private information to its private competitor (ya, right)? :Maybe our government simply doesn't understand the term competition anymore?
George Soros OWNS $800 million of Brazil's Petrobas. Fine, it's a free world, right? Well......
Then we've got THIS STORY....from which this remark emerges: "So why is it that during these tough times, when we have great needs at home, the Obama White House is prepared to send more than two billion of your hard-earned tax dollars to Brazil so that the nation's state-owned oil company, Petrobras, can drill off shore and create jobs developing its own resources?"
Houston? I think we have a problem. Don't we? There are a LOT of levels from these stories that stink so our media just can't be sleeping through all of them, could it? Or are we to believe Soros and Obama have nothing to do with each other and this is ALL ONE BIG AMAZING COINCIDENCE? (heh!)
Is he ever going to pay attention and tell the whole truth? From a radio address you might want to read the highlights from:
Let's take it apart: "Obama said illegal immigrants would not be part of the health care overhaul" Okay, then why is he using illegal immigrant numbers in the amount of people uncovered by healthcare who must, according to him, be covered?
"taxpayers would not be mandated to fund abortions" Read THIS and others you can find.. One thing is for certain; the Bill does not say "abortion will not be publicly funded through this Bill." And then Obama says....
"......and he does not intend a government takeover of health care — all claims that critics have made at contentious town hall-style meetings with members of Congress." But, how can they not? Read THIS, particularly about your losing your private coverage.
He also took a swipe at "death panels," an idea former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin introduced on her Facebook page........"As every credible person who has looked into it has said, there are no so-called death panels — an offensive notion to me and to the American people," Obama said. "These are phony claims meant to divide us."
Please see my piece below about the VA and health care, the linked article from which has this information: "Your Life, Your Choices" presents end-of-life choices in a way aimed at steering users toward predetermined conclusions, much like a political "push poll." For example, a worksheet on page 21 lists various scenarios and asks users to then decide whether their own life would be "not worth living." By the way...the article goes on to say "And as you might guess, only one organization was listed in the new version as a resource on advance directives: the Hemlock Society."
PLEASE Mr. President, it is very easy for you to speak behind a radio microphone with a teleprompter and tell us we're wrong, we misinterpret, 'that cable channel is causing people to be misinformed' (you don't mean MSNBC's lies, DO you), ....YOU ARE THE ONE CALLING FOR 'HONEST DEBATE' TODAY... Could you please come out from behind the teleprompter and TALK TO US with a person who reads the things WE see in your health care plan? Let us respond and YOU calm us down! You work FOR US. You let OUR GUY tell you where he feels we'll be in ten years after your health care's in place and YOU tell us where you think we'll be. Tell us how we who like our insurance now will still have it in ten years and HOW (because that can't work, Mr. President, YOU KNOW THAT). WHY NOT have this kind of real informative debate? Maybe you'll start understanding your plan better. If you can't or don't want to do this, TELL US WHY NOT. Thank you.
Oh, by the way....my Chicago cartoon from 1934 shows not much has changed, Mr. Obama, don't YOU THINK? Read the bottom poster (click and it enlarges for easier reading)...I think you'll like that part a lot, Barack. I don't.

"If President Obama wants to better understand why America's discomfort with end-of-life discussions threatens to derail his health-care reform, he might begin with his own Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). He will quickly discover how government bureaucrats are greasing the slippery slope that can start with cost containment but quickly become a systematic denial of care". .....then there's this: "I was not surprised to learn that the VA panel of experts that sought to update "Your Life, Your Choices" between 2007-2008 did not include any representatives of faith groups or disability rights advocates. And as you might guess, only one organization was listed in the new version as a resource on advance directives: the Hemlock Society (now euphemistically known as "Compassion and Choices")."
Well, Jiminy Cricket!...I guess Sarah Palin was right again, and with good reason to be worried....
So, he uses "bearing false witness" and Pelosi spoke the other day with a Catholic priest in a collar standing RIGHT behind her for the TV cameras, and O'Reilly had a liberal nun on for the first time arguing "What would Jesus want regarding a health care program..?" Seeing a trend, folks? All in a matter of 2 days or so. The White House memo is apparently "Now play to the Christians." Those media people hired by the White House are cunning and active, huh? Check out THIS LIST! It does seem more like campaign mode than presidential mode, doesn't it?
By the way, I didn't know the White House commissions prayers before events, did you? And that the White House has to vet them? Read about that HERE. As the article says "If a similar thing had been done by President Bush's White House, I guarantee you there would have been a lot of people crying foul," says Bill Wichterman, deputy director of the Office of Public Liaison under President George W. Bush. "Democrats can do this with immunity, but when Republicans do it, it becomes controversial."
Another clip from the article: "The Obama administration may have skirted controversy by scheduling the invocations to be delivered before the president arrives at the events—and before national cable network cameras start rolling. "Having prayers in places like Indiana where public prayers are commonplace would help the president," says John Green of the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life. "Whereas seeing it on national TV would cause controversy because there are places where these things are less popular."
He also said this ""Men and women of faith have helped to show us what's possible when we're guided by our hopes, and not our fears," Obama said. "That's what you can do again today to help us achieve quality, affordable health care for every American." And he's been suddenly teleconferencing with religious leaders, too.
So, what are they up to? The Christian Push?

"I'd ask you in, but...I just broke up with someone..." He says "Oh....well, THAT's okay...."
Then, the first-time date drives away, and the angry boyfriend she just broke up with storms the door in and BAMMO, the security system goes on and the phone rings.."Broadview...here to save the day!" The stalker who broke the door in, obviously a stellar choice in boyfriends, then turns to run away back into the rainy dark night at the sound of the alarm...you've seen it, right?
My question is the part about "I'd ASK YOU IN...but..............I just broke up with someone......."
What's that mean to you? What message is it sending to our kids? It took me a long time of watching that commercial to suddenly think "Wait a minute...first-time date....they've BEEN out to dinner, can't she just suggest coming in for an innocent nightcap? Why can't she ask him IN?" Do you see what's not said there? She can't "ask him IN" because she's just broken up? And he seems very understanding with that. What do YOU suppose "ask you in" means to them in the ad?
I've wanted to post on this and see if you think this is a very subliminal message we might not want every ten minutes on prime time TV?

Oh, my goodness, the leftwing hypocrisy just keeps growing......and the media's so complicit.
Washington (AP) - Democrats on a House committee are seeking detailed financial records from dozens of large insurance companies, officials disclosed Tuesday, part of an investigation into "executive compensation and other business practices" in an industry opposed to President Barack Obama's plan to overhaul health care.
I thought the new deal was "The government will be in COMPETITION" Should one competitor know information about the other? Is that fair?
Is this still AMERICA?
I guess the whole world takes Obama's appeasement seriously......N. Korea started testing much more often recently, Iraq's still building nuke plants and even little scawny Somali pirates finally, for the first time since they started hijacking ships finally got one of ours a few months back, remember?
These problems in Iraq just couldn't be that our soldiers are less visible and Iraq wasn't QUITE ready to take over yet...as many of us thought? Oh, and our Green Zone's just been hit pretty hard today, according to the link. America's Green Zone, that Zone whose president's got a "notion" that we should be out of there........OH, well. It's all Bush's fault. Again.

A BIG, FAMOUS Indian actor I have never heard of (have you?) is said to have had the same name as someone on a list with Homeland Security, he's detained for an hour at an American airport to check that out and wait for a bag that was lost, and now he's NEVER coming here with his family and will cut down on his business travel due to an incident HE himself said was no big deal?
"Khan told reporters Tuesday after returning to Mumbai that the incident had been "blown out of proportion." But he said the questioning — which included requests for the names of people who could vouch for him — embarrassed him." Embarassed him if he's not guilty? WHY?
The Muslim actor was promoting his latest film, "My Name is Khan," about racial profiling after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. (I just can't wait to see that...)
They're burning flags in India over this (there's India again threatening China's status as the biggest polluter in the world).... What can we do to make it up to someone who is just another citizen whose name is similar to some bad guy's, and who spent one hour waiting to get that cleared up and figure out where a piece of baggage was, right? The articles haven't stopped since the day it happened. Man, America can just do NOTHING right these days, can it? I hope Mr. Obama doesn't pass up yet another opportunity to apologize for America.......I'll bet you do, too.
Do you get the sense people around the world are suddenly a bit more happy to pile it on America these days, especially now that we're appeasing and apologizing? Why can't people just say "Stuff happens, it wasn't fun, but so what?" THOSE were the days. geeeeeeeZ!
Oh, my........but then, his far left backers might be upset, click HERE. SO...they go with the far left even though the polls show Americans do not want this bill, especially the public option.
So, who's Gibbs most loyal TO? Obama or the far leftwingers? Hmmmm. Who's Obama most loyal to?
Then, of course, it doesn't matter that you are educated and understand the bill....Ms Sebelius insists any pleasure over what was coming out of the White House about dropping the 'public option' was based solely on "a slow news day." What I think Ms Sebelius is saying to America is that you just don't get it....what we say and do are quite different things.........You just had nothing else to think about because the news was slow...WOW.
Gibbs, Sebelius........they're quite different messages than what was discussed all last week by Obama and others. I guess it's a case of "You heard NOTHING, you SAW NOTHING..." Typical, angry mobs, you need glasses and hearing aids. Oh, and Obama did NOT bow to the Saudi King. Doesn't matter that you saw the pictures, Robert Gibbs says you're WRONG. :-)
Shut your eyes! You did not see that.
Oops...they ARE so scared of their far leftwing base.....I say "Keep playing to it....you're losing independents by the busloads.."
