Try the calamari, best in town.

I've seen this cartoon before, I may have even used it myself, but it never gets old. Thanks for posting it.

By the way, on this cartoon is it a burqa or a ghost ;-)

I saw a parody of Christine O'Donnell by Elvira the other day. It made me laugh. That's another important difference between liberals and conservatives; we at least can laugh at ourselves. Try that with a liberal and you get an immediate barrage of hateful filth.

This cartoon made me laugh; I'm not sure Hairy Reid would laugh though.

OT: Z, my in-laws were down to Florida recently and I printed up a copy of your easy joonie recipe. She's going to try it and let me know what she thinks.

Ducky, they did a bit on it on the Food CHannel last night and it looked fabulous..a little heavy but very fresh, all homemade, etc.
The lobster ravioli with a little brandy in the sauce sounded so good.

How do they do the calamari? Sauteed? What do they serve it with?
It looked like a very charming neighborhood from the front of the place.

Cube....it's fabulous..I'd frozen a bag of the topping I'd made a few months back and made it for the stepdaughter when she arrived from Munich and she really loved it.

Sam, we have to laugh, all the jokes putting down politicians are OUR Politicians :-)

FB, could be a burqa!

The topping sounds delicious. The only change my m-i-l and I discussed was cooking the meat mixture on the stove before putting it on the shells. We both agreed that that would be perfect.

Z - I didn't smile...

I LAUGHED!!!!

Cube, it'll be difficult to 'smear' it on the tortillas if it's been cooked..but let me know how it goes. YOu have to smear it thinly...

Very funny Z. Good one.

I wonder what would work with the adults who say trick or treat while holding a three month old baby!!! Ummmmm, this is not funny.

Yep. I've actually had them do that! I'm just waiting for a pregnant woman to say trick or treat to complete the picture!

Z - Although I'm not crazy about Halloween, I do like cartoons with pumpkins and little kids trick 'r treating.

A couple of weeks ago I took my grandson (3 1/2 yrs) to a Halloween store. We searched the entire store for something fun, but all they had was gruesome monsters. He was good about it - only the witch scared him. His mother said he still talks about it.

About the only thing I like about Halloween these days is when Letterman has a house set and kids(children of staffers) come in costumes relating to events of the day. Then after chatting with them he puts outrageous 'treats' in their bag. Like a phone book, or batteries.

Tonight at Walmart I tried to find a good Halloween movie but they were all too scary for me!

Sue, I'm very not big on Halloween, either...but I DO love the Fall and have a bowl of dry corn and small orange and white pumpkins (and SNICKERS BARS in individual packages) on my living room table :-)

Breaking news on the scuzzball Boxer

The Foundation for Ethics in Public Service sent a letter to Eric Holder last Thursday requesting the attorney general “begin an investigation to determine whether United States Senator Barbara Boxer violated any criminal laws or should be liable for any civil penalty for failure to disclose real property on her Personal Financial Disclosure Reports between 2002 and 2010.

The specific property FEPS is referring to is an Oakland, California, home valued at over a million dollars and co-owned by Boxer, her husband Stewart, their son Douglas, and his wife Amy. The letter to Holder reads in part:

Despite the fact that Senator Boxer had an ownership in 854 Longridge Road [in Oakland], she failed to report this substantial real property asset on any of her personal financial disclosures between 2002 and 2010. She had also failed to report the mortgage on the property. Further, she failed to report the purchase of 854 Longridge Road in 2002. Each year Boxer was required to have filed a “full and complete report.”

The filing of false or incomplete disclosure statements is in violation of the Ethics in Government Act. The Act authorizes the Attorney General of the United States to seek civil penalties against Senators who knowingly and willfully falsify or fail to report required information. The knowing and willful concealment of the existence of substantial amount of real property for a prolonged period may subject Senators to federal criminal prosecution under 18 U.S.C. paragraph 101.

Indeed, ethical questions have been dogging the chair of the Senate Select Committee on Ethics of late. According to an October 13 Washington Examiner article by Marta Mossburg (“It’s time for Sen. Barbara Boxer to come clean on her mortgage loans“), Boxer held no fewer than seven mortgages with Countrywide Financial, the company at the center of the mortgage scandal she was investigating as chair of her committee.

Despite the obvious impropriety, Boxer did not recuse herself. Instead she signed as “chair” the letter that exonerated Chris Dodd after the Connecticut senator got favorable mortgage rates from Countrywide. That letter — available at the ethics.senate.gov site — is worth reading now in light of what we have learned of Boxer’s own activities.

If Barbara Boxer is returned to the Senate, she will resume her position as chair of the Senate Select Committee on Ethics. It is she who will preside over investigations into the ethical behavior of our senators.

She'll be in good company with the "transparent" whores...like Rangell, Waters.

Z - I agree on both counts:

I love fall and the small candy bars!

I'm looking forward to Sunday and the other cartoon.

Well, it's not directly related to this post, but I found the cartoon at the url below great--maybe because I can relate to it. Maybe you could use it as a Tuesday "Don't forget to vote" post.

Anonymous, it's shocking to me that so many Californians actually could vote for this woman who's done almost literally NOTHING for us in the senate.......
I'll never forget her misspelled graphs and charts during a senate hearing during which she made a humiliating presentation...I was CRINGING.

Sue...we sure don't agree on everything but we sure do have some things in common :-)

tio...love that cartoon, I may have even blogged it a long time ago and it still makes me laugh! THANKS!

Z - It is not important whether we agree on everything, but that we do have something to agree on.(:

Actually that's not entirely true, a true Democrat would take it all, promise half to the spongers but only give them a quarter.
