Sunday Faith Blog

I have a slightly different perspective on Obama omitting "Our creator" from speeches.....Please bear with me.......This might seem a more political Faith Blog than usual but I don't mean it to be... please put the politics aside and watch the video below........it's very short.

Mr. Obama left our "our Creator" when speaking to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. He did it again on September 23 at a fundraiser in New York City. And he did it yet a third time in Rockville, Md. when speaking to Democratic Senate candidate donors.
Whether you're a person of faith, an agnostic or an atheist, is it a good idea for a sitting president to misquote from the Declaration of Independence?   Isn't that something that deserves criticism, correction, SOME acknowledgment that he isn't representing our founding documents as they were written?  I can't imagine what Obama's Christian advisers think of these omissions.  If, as children, we'd misquoted what our teachers had asked us to memorize in the Declaration, this omission would have brought us a C minus, assuming all else had been quoted correctly.  I find it odd that GOD needs to go. Certainly, even a "Deist" would find that odd, no?

"Because he loves me," says the Lord, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name."  Psalms 91:14.

Acknowledge Him.........it'll be an even better Sunday.

Isaiah 45:22-24 (King James Version):

Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

Surely, shall one say, in the LORD have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.

Our country is in trouble, and only by the grace of GOD will we recover.

I've been hearing on TV this morning that the rally yesterday had well over 200K, and Beck's was only around 100K. They are also saying the Dems are recovering in the polls. It has been so long since I've believed anything the media says.

Good morning Z, happy Faith Sunday.

Who is President Barack Obama?

He rose to his lofty office because the society created by our Founding Fathers, founded on God given unalienable rights.

And he doesn't even believe that God gave him those rights?

Who is President Barack Obama?

Was Obama not supposed to be a Constitutional scholar?

This omission is purposeful. And ladies and gents, that is scary, scary territory.

Mixing religion with politics can get messy. I'll try to blend some religion with Jon Stewart's "raly to Restore Sanity" to expand that point. Yusuf Islam, aka, Cat Stevens was apparently the entertainment highlite performing "Peace Train". That would be the same Yusuf Islam who endorsed the Muslim fatywa issued against Salman Rushdie years ago for his critique of the "religion of peace", or at leasdt it was interpretted that way by the devout.

How sane is Jon Stewart? He's a leftist toady, IMO, who is not above sucking up with the President, since they both share a profound acceptance of love of government, i.e., government control to be expanded in more ways into everyday life of every individual. You could call this a love of enslavement, a condescending attitude shown to those who do not accept this demented sort of wishful thinking.

Scratch this mentality deeper than the suerficiality which they hope the unthinking will accept, and you'll find they have drunk deeply of the same sort leftist Marxist-Leninist kool-aid served up to his followers by the Rev. Jim Jones of the People's Temple. More and more this is becoming evident in the dementia shown by the left and their drooling minions.

Does not surprise me that this man leaves out "our Creator".

He has lived a life of self creation, adopting what is expedient to his desires, bouncing from country to country picking the culture that serves his immediate purpose, supporting those who only support him, condemning those who take exception to what he thinks, hiding the facts we need to know and taking all the glory in saying "We Won".

Leaders do not claim the victory for themselves, they claim it for those they are called to serve, whether they agree with him or not.

He made a statement that is ironic to the fullest, "Faith and Fidelity". If he had either he would not have eliminated "our Creator" from the document he swore to uphold.

If an atheist quoted the Declaration of Independence, he/she would have an obligation to quote it correctly, including "under God," or else he/she would not be quoting it.

But President BO has put himself above all others and can quote things correctly, even when he doesn't, because if he quotes it one way, that's the way it was written, simply because that's the way he quoted it. And in his eyes, if it wasn't written that way, it should have been.

Obama is covered. You must admit that the bulk of the media, even if they KNEW the true words, would support Obama's deletion of the words "our creator." How many devout supporters of religion do you suppose exist within any given American media bullpen? And if there are a handful, how many do you suppose have the guts to make their beliefs known?

There's your answer.

On Obama's part, it's purposeful.

Of course Obama's version was intentional. It's clear that he believes our rights are dispensed to us or removed from us by the government, or by this wannabe dictator, Obama himself.

An ideology such as Marxism, demands it, or the people's fealty to God would supercede all other powers. That would be intolerable to a leader who believes in his own omniscience.

I compare Obama to Castro, or Chavez, or any dictator who's ego is such, he loses all touch with reality, and engages in a grandiose opinion of himself which is beyond all measure.

He himself has stated the Constitution is flawed, as if he above all men, is chosen to change whatever he sees as his calling to change.

Obama has publicly stated he wants to change our flag, and our National Anthem. He thinks he has the power to do that and what the people want is of no concern for him.

He had his own insignia during his campaign didn't he? That was a red flag which was left unquestioned.

The far left, wanting this all powerful dominance, see it this way themselves. They must rid themselves of any hindrance to their goal of ultimate loyalty to the government.

They cannot have the population pledging their first loyalty to our creator, so they omit it. Obama omits it. "Under God" in the pledge, must be omitted.

If they do this often enough, and long enough, it will be omitted. This is how it's done, and our youth are the targets. We can't let this happen. Teach your children well.

For Obama, and his acolytes and comrades, it isn't odd. It's necessary. I don't believe Obama's "Christian" advisors are Christians in the true sense of the word. They pervert the religion to fit with what they want it to mean.

Linda, yes, he has advisers he says are Christians.."Social Justice" misinterpreting experts.

Elbro..exactly.

Linda, I was watching CNN when that rally started and they were already saying how very important it is to get a count; With Beck, it was "who cares...the Parks don't keep count anymore"....We've all seen the pictures, some of us know the truth.

FW and Brooke; A CONSTITUTIONAL SCHOLAR who doesn't like what's in it will change it......this whole omission is all about a precursor to what our poor COnstitution will suffer ESPECIALLY if we have a Constitutional COngress (which I used to hope for)...I, and MANY smarter than I, believe SOros is just licking his chops for Conservatives to decide we MUST READDRESS THE CONSTITUTION TO PROTECT IT! NO, we have to realize who'll be DOING THAT WORK...or we'll lose America.

Pris, excellent points...

My point is: Should he not be called on SOME carpet for omitting things from the words of the Declaration? It's one thing to flub a patriotic song but to, THREE TIMES, take a section out of the Declaration when he's reading from it...just seems so wrong on so many levels.
Of course he did this on purpose! That's clear; what seems unclear to some in this country is that the omission should be mentioned and criticized by other than good Conservatives, and corrected in public.

Yes, indeed! :D

I'm late to the party but hope it's okay to add a verse that's been frequently coming to mind.

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. ~Proverbs 14:34

What I understand the Bible to teach is that true righteousness is of God alone and rejection of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord is the ultimate sin.

For our representative leaders to openly turn their backs on God and not be held accountable by those who love the Lord is very not good, IMO.

Mixing religion with politics can get messy......

Yes it can. Especially if the religion is false.

Heather, if you were late to the party, I guess I'm even later returning to the party.

I can't imagine anyone embracing any religion if that person doesn't accept that religion as being true. I sure that no sane person would embrace thinking that that person would consider to be false. And I'm equally sure that the devout of all religions would be absolutely sure that their own religion is the one which possesses the absolute truth.

So how does God sort out the good from the bad or false religion?

Waylon,

I want to be sure you understand that my view of religion is probably a little different than that of a lot of people. While I identify as Christian, I do not mean it in a institutionalist manner.

God doesn't need to sort out the true religious teaching from the false, He already knows what is and isn't true and His very being is the standard by which we must measure. He has revealed what we need to know about Him through the Bible by way of His Spirit.

It is we who can get confused about which religion is the "right" one.

Z has been nice enough to give me permission to direct this sort of conversation to my site if you would like to better understand my perspective and discuss further.

A while back, I examined the "how can I know which religious belief is true" question on this post
http://onmysoapbox2.wordpress.com/2010/05/26/theology-matters-brief-worldview-survey/

And the following one
http://onmysoapbox2.wordpress.com/2010/05/27/theology-matters-a-simple-way-to-track-doctrinal-error/

Neither one is particularly long, and might help you better understand why I would seem to be so harsh about certain religious systems being wrong.

If you do choose to look at the posts, and they don't make much sense, you could also take a look at my thoughts on the point of Christian doctrine.

(sorry, I don't know how to do the link thing)

Craig and Heather said...

Oh, and Waylon,

I also want to clarify that I don't consider myself to be judge over the soul of anyone else.

A person can claim to be a born again Baptist (I'm not, btw), agree on all the points of doctrine to which I hold, and still only be outwardly religious.

What I'm against is religious teaching that obscures the truth about who Jesus is. I have a reason for this, which is what I hope the blog posts will help you to see.

Thanks
