Oh boy!

The US Senate saved us from Obama bringing terrorists onto American soil on our dime.

Or something.

Ducky's here said...

Terrorists? Were they ever tried?

Why not just transfer them to maximum security Federal facilities? There are several that have never had an escape and I doubt these guys are in shape to plan one.

Fact is that the right are such bed wetters that even the idea of a Muslim on American soil both disgusts them and frightens them silly.

Gee. I hate to tell a commenter you're stupid, but Ducky, who the heck hates all Muslims?
But, please...you let us know the MINUTE you hear 'good, peaceful muslims' marching to 'take their religion back', okay? I'll be waiting with baited breath.

I hope you don't wet your bed too badly when we're hit the next time. If it's the Finns or Swedes who do that, or those Protestant Christians you seem to despise, you let me know, too, okay?

Ya, we're erring on OUR SIDE, 90-6. How refreshing. All those bed wetting libs in Congress must know a bit more than YOU do, and that's why they voted this way. Or do you think they did it to make us conservative bed wetters happy, like they ALWAYS do?
Thanks.

The fact that sooo many Dems are 'now' against the closing of GITMO -leads me to believe that BHO's goons got their ear because BHO realized that his 'promise' to close GITMO was politically stupid...the Ds are going along to get along...
I trust no one in power in Washignton DC...

BTW- the terrorists at GITMO were un-uniformed combatants -thus- not under the Geneva Convention--so --under the good old rules of battle -they would not be alive today...to be there!!!

Beamish, I recently heard one of the Republican strategists argue that we couldn't allow these prisoners to be housed in America because it would provoke terrorists to try to break them out (kind of a Butch and Sundance thing, I guess.)

But, if Americans can't break their own gang members out of maximum security prisons, it's hard to imagine that some roving jihadis could do any better.

Prisons are WHAT WE DO. We have more people locked up that any other nation on earth. It's one of our largest industries. We may be bad at everything else, but locking people up we are really, really good at. The idea that we can't keep a few broken, foreign, torture victims in jail is patently absurd.
If you don't believe that the government is capable of protecting a prison from attack by foreign terrorists, anyone who lives near a nuclear power plant should be completely petrified. Talk about a target. Man are you guys thick.

Now the rest of your stuff is just a straw argument. Cry baby cry, that's what the right does best.

I thought it was the left who was hanging the yellow curtains in Congress and in the White House when it came to Iraq.

They're the ones who are the bed wetting yellow cowards.

Ducky,

You're behaving precisely as I expect any leftist to do, which is like a total imbecile.

So, what's your plan when the names of all terrorist detainees are released as a matter of public record, and they're safely locked away in "Supermax" cells, and all over the world Americans are being kidnapped and held hostage until the Great Satan lets the jihadis out of prison?

Uh... uh... what?

Don't you lefties EVER tire of that damned lie? Ducky i don't give a flying flip WHAT Amnesty International or any other leftist organization tells you, do YOU believe we have more people locked up than China or India?
Would you bet BIG money on it?

China probably has more political prisoners than we have in our entire prison population! Dude you have GOT to stop and think before you write that truly dumb s@&t again!

You lefties hang onto some talking points REGARDLESS of common sense.

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

Jingoist,

We do have a sizable portion of our population clothed, housed, and fed in our prison system.

On this count, most of the world can't touch us.

On the other hand, we really suck at putting prisoners in mass graves.

cube said...

Honestly, I don't know how this came about except that normal taxpaying constituents balked at the idea of these monsters being set loose and made their feelings known. It gives me hope that this was the scenario, but I'm always skeptical.

Yes Beamish that's true. "MOST" of the world. Here's my fix. STOP jailing non-violent drug offenders and fire up old sparky on death row. That should decrease the population dramatically. No one can convince me that we have more incarcerated than China, and I'd be willing to bet india has more in jail too.

WomanHonorThyself said...

ah yes a moment of reprieve..wooo!

JINGOIST said...

Beamish i believe that you mean that, but here's what the quacker wrote:

"Prisons are WHAT WE DO. We have more people locked up that any other nation on earth."

He meant hard numbers, as does every leftist lie that I've ever read. Now do YOU believe that we have a higher % locked up than China, Russia, N. Korea, Venezuala...

Not I. I doubt you believe it either.

"[btw, I'm all for legalization of drugs, but overdose treatment centers should be criminalized]"

LOL! Good one!

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

Jingoist,

Ducky is always going to say something outrageously ridiculous and easily refuted. We wouldn't believe he is a leftist otherwise.

Even IF we did have more people jailed or imprisoned in America than any other country (we don't, as you accurately point out re: China) a miniscule fraction (virtually none) of those are held in solitary confinement, forced into hard labor, or any of the harsh conditions prisoners face in non-American prisons.

And every imprisoned criminal in America arrived there from a jury trial.

In such discussions of comparative prison populations with leftists, I go for the quick kill (pardon the pun) by mentioning mass executions.

When I want to play with my food, I mention that we have the largest number of prisoners earning college degrees while watching cable TV.

Tio, I couldn't agree with you more on both counts!

Ducky "If you don't believe that the government is capable of protecting a prison from attack by foreign terrorists, anyone who lives near a nuclear power plant should be completely petrified. Talk about a target. Man are you guys thick."

Our government's becoming weaker by the second by leftist political correctness, budget cuts in the wrong places and a president who seems to feel as lighthearted about terror as you do. No, detainees should not come here because a prison break attempt these days, with people who hate this country and can't wait to go to Allah in very spectacular ways, might be a bit more sophisticated and horribly more dangerous to the surrounding community than they were in old Jimmy Cagney films.

Isn't ANYBODY DANCING?

Z, thanks, I love Dancing Queen, and you haven't lived until you've heard "Banking Queen" to the same music, on Rush's show. It's in honor of Barney Frank. Hilarious!

And yeah, Jingo, where's Fernando?

This Californian is feeling too good today, even to argue with Ducky. In fact, I think I'll grab Mr. Pris and just Dance!!

I for one am very pleased that the closing is on hold for now.

Abba is an under-appreciated group. Far better than they are credited for. I admit to listening to them from time to time.

Don’t think Obama expected 535 petitions screaming “not in my district!”

Old proverb say: engage brain before you open mouth and insert foot. Translation: think about where THEY'RE goin’ before you get YOUR mouth goin’.

Another rookie mistake. Hope he "grows" on the job soon.

The Senate rejected a bill in 2006 to make water-boarding illegal.

A 1994 criminal statute prohibiting torture specifically included war as an excuse to use it.

Oh, please, Elbro, do NOT be using facts when Dukkky's around.

Also...have you seen that little tidbit in the NEWS? ANYWHERE? I'd love to FINALLY have an honest media. Oh, man, would I.

Z,
My cat heard the music and jumped up on my lap. An ABBA fan? It must have been my wife. She likes them. I gave the cat a cursory dance. He wasn't impressed, so I spun him around the room. Now he's happy and so am I. Thanks.

Z said...

L&0...are you asking ME if I'm a big ABBA fan?
no way. But, I do like a couple of their songs. And they're very well produced, VERY well produced.

Love the image of you dancing with your cat.

Aside from jazz, I sang some opera to toughen up and train the chords (it works if you don't sing via the typical and ridiculous 'head voice' style!) and so I frequently sang Musetta's Waltz from La Boheme. Since my boy cat was Marcello and my girl was Musetta, I'd spin her around singing. Thank goodness SHe was the one who couldn't have me singing loud enough! She used to crawl up my jeans when she was tiny if I was singing, couldn't get close enough to THE SOUND (which, on me, is huge)...He, on the other hand, would snarl and gripe all the way running up the stairs to get as far as he could from my singing. I used to yell "nobody likes a CRITIC" after him!

"Banking Queen!" Hilarious, Pris, as a send-up of arch-creep Barny Fwank, and yes I do reserve the wight to mock his appalling presence, both spiritual and physical: a more cartoonlike politician never lived. Z, thanks for dancing it up and celebrating the shooting down of those props. Between honoring our vets this weekend we should all toast this victory. P.S. I'm an unabashed member of AA... Abba Fans Anonymous. The hip and elite no doubt despise them for their angst-free, joyous tones, but that only further bolsters me in my appreciation.
