I hope you all stopped by Mustang's and read his STATE SOVEREIGNTY piece. It's worth it.
And, it should spur us on to action.

On one level I see this as a good idea.
Blue states have a net outflow of funds which subsidizes red states. So making red states stand on their own or whither has a certain appeal.
On the other hand I value the nation and would rather it not be weakened by this feuding.
All you've got to do to stop the feuding ducky is to stop trying to transform the world into a blue state, everyone gets a free ride, utopia
Where does "Ducky" ever get the idea that blue states subsidize red states? California, Michigan, New York, New Jersey and many more blue states are awash in red ink. Anyway, the idea that the states have the right to amend the Constitution through Constitutional provisions set out for that purpose, indicates the brilliance of the framers and an opportunity that should not go unconsidered. What needs to be done better get done before Obama has organized a complete coup, declares martial law and suspends the Constitution itself.

Let's go real slow, Michael.
The residents of blue states pay Federal taxes.
The Federal government makes expenditures.
Red states receive more of the expenditures than they pay in taxes for a net wealth transfer from blue to red states.
Simple.
Thanks for going so slow.
After going to a site that reports on tax data, it does show that due to the nature of the progressive federal tax system, the blue states do indeed pay more per dollar in taxes for the federal money they receive than do the red states.
Tax questions aside. Obama is a radical left wing extremist who believes that the fundamental change he will bring to America is the type that will destroy what America has been, to some degree still is, and he hopes will never be again.
is that slow enough for you?

Obama is nothing more than Clinton redux.
Do you honestly believe that someone who appoints Larry Summers, Paul Volker and Tim Geithner as his primary economic team is a radical economist?
See, this is why the far right is marginalized. You just don't realize how far off the page you are.
I resent being labeled as "right wing." I am far right of that. The kind of guy that HSC Napolitano is on the look out for. Look, Obama is growing the federal government, borrowing, printing and creating debt at the fastest rate in history and not by a small margin. By a huge margin. Quadruple the Bush excesses(at least for now. It could get even worse). You can quibble about appointments and Clintonesque governance. The fact remains, Obama talks like a moderate and acts like a radical socialist. That anyone, including you, believes a word he says displays a naivete of remarkable dimension. BTW, Bush was terrible in this regard. And Obama makes Bush look responsible by comparison.
Michael G. Miller
Well, duh the federal government subsidizes the "red states."
Cut off the money supply.
We'll be more than happy to cut off your food supply.
spur us on indeed but will it help?!!
Let me get this straight. Living in a state that gets taxed to the extent that they pay for everyone else is good? The only reason this is good is if you are a communist who believes that paying most of your income in taxes to the state for their redistributionist policies is better than keeping it and spending it for the betterment of your family.
After all, you earned it. Spend it for yourself.
I'm-sorry-that's-just-so-stupid-huh-? Is that slow enough for you?
"Blue States subsidize Red States".
I think not. Last I heard, California was begging for Federal funds.
Do you all know that EVERY SINGLE COUNTRY around the world uses RED for Communism?
Some say that it was Tim Russert who first used the red/blue distinction in 2000 in the USA...RED FOR CONSERVATIVES? RUSSERT? (SURPRISE!) Not
I assume Ducky, from remarks you made on Mustang's site, you believe tyranny doesn't have to follow socialist governance.
So, what's hate crime, and hate speech law if not tyranny. Prosecution based on perceived thought, and in the face of free speech.
Let's see, I believe Jefferson said, when the people fear the government, it's tyranny, and when the government fears the people, it's libery.
Socialism or Marxism cannot work the way you think. You think that here, in America, it can be different. It can't be different anywhere. The results are always the same.
The only way it can exist is to be imposed. In order for that to happen it requires oppressive tactics.
Every country which has embraced socialism has become a shadow of it's former self if not utterly destroyed.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

If this didn't ring the old attention bell nothing will. See my post on ACTIVE. We've got to get moving folks.
Looks like a fine idea to me, Z-- I will be posting it or a link to it shortly. "Fight fire with fire," right? Too many of us sit around all "woe is me" about what's happening at a breakneck speed, as witness some of the intelligent but hesitant responses to Mustangs sharp proposal. I see it as a furtherance of the Tea Party movement.
